Chart Commentary

A big thank you to all those 6 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including BridgeCow, AH Gold, toffonews, Tombo, danG and PeteFromLeeds.

Dua Lipa has made it to the top this week with New Rules. The pop sensation has had an incredible year with the launch of her debut album along with a string of hits. She's also worked with the likes of Martin Garrix, Sean Paul and Wale too. It's fair to say she's been busy and her work effort is very high. New Rules is the seventh single to be released from her self-titled album.

Kesha released her new album last week and her single Praying is still one of the most emotive songs from Summer 2017. It's certainly the season's ballad. No change for Feels this week. Climbing into the Top 10 this week are Selena Gomez and Sigrid.

The highest new entry comes from the British establishment Coldplay featuring some American rapping from Big Sean. Miracles (Someone Special) one of 5 tracks to feature on the newly released EP Kaleidoscope. Not far behind is Demi Lovato whose recent features on dance hits from Cheat Codes and Jax Jones have propelled her career into full swing as she embarks on a new era of hits. Sorry Not Sorry is this weeks track of the week.

The Vamps are a big climber this week, up 11 places, but this weeks highest climber is in fact Martin Solveig feat. Alma who are up 12 places this week to reach a new peak at #23. There are re-entries this week for Swish Swish and Real Life.

The Weeknd has returned to the Top 40 Countdown with Rockin' which also features on the compilation Now That's What I Call Music! 97. There is also room this week for dance outfits Zedd and Galantis with their respective new singles.
