Yeh usually goes 1.5m on Xmas day, 250k Boxing Day, then 200k for the rest of the week!

I was looking back at the Radio 1 Anthems programs from this time last year, and it appears they're playing the exact same songs in the exact same order as they did in 2019. It's a good selection of songs, to be fair, but I feel like they could've at least changed the order?

They often do this with all of the Anthems shows. All pre-recorded mixes which are repeated regularly, especially Radio 1 Dance. It is a shame but there is such a huge output of these shows that it is not surprising they're reusing the tracks

Time for the annual look at the Top 50 most played songs of 2020 for those with interest of what got played and how much they got played. All the information that I have included has come from the BBC Radio 1 Last.fm page which is avaliable online. The infomation takes all tracks played during the daytime period and nighttime periods and as well as songs played on simulcasts of 1Xtra shows and any Radio 1 Dance repeat shows that were broadcast on the main Radio 1 station. As always there may be some missing or incorrect data as some plays may have not been recorded due to failures with the scrobles but the data below will give a mostly clear idea as to which tracks was played the most in 2020. Some songs scrobles are combined and don't reflect the original figures on Last.fm but are used to get a more accurate representation of how many times a song is played, I have listed where I combined figures and these combined figures include versions of a song that went down as a seperate track that wasn't supposed to, variations of song that are similar (Example: The Beyonce Remix of Megan Thee Stallion and the orginal version are combined) and any live performances that were played out of a song. Combined figures don't include dance remixes unless they were used as an official version that was pushed. Also inlcuded is the most played songs for each month, the most played artists of 2020 and them by month.

Franky Wah getting this year's title for most spammed song on Radio 1 that was never a hit. Guessing it may be one that got a decent amount of nighttime play as well as its time on the daytime playlist. Surprising that Franky still hasn't had a mainstream hit, hope that will be coming soon ~

Great number one most played track! Surprised Dua Lipa only first appears at 27 with ‘Physical’ but guess it’s made up by the fact she’s the most played artist. No surprise Declan, Biffy and Royal Blood the biggest indie representatives!
