21. The 1975 - Give Yourself A Try CR: {22}-41-66->3 Score: 44 Votes: 10 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by Rush & Whoody4Paramore] 22. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy CR: 40-38-40-36-{35}-42-46-51-54->9 Score: 43 Votes: 10 +10s: 1 [dobbo] 23. Ariana Grande - sweetener CR: {22}->1 Score: 39 Votes: 8 +10s: 1 [digitalking] 24. Shawn Mendes feat. Khalid - Youth CR: {35}-56-59-41-55-67->6 Score: 28 Votes: 7 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by Liam] Finishing bottom of the pack is Shawn Mendes with the omnipresent Khalid on 'Youth'. Ariana's previous album track 'sweetener' is surprisingly next to fall before my personal favourite of the final 'Sick Boy' which was a minor hit right back at the start of last year. The 1975 managed to get 3 songs through to the final, more than anyone else and their first track to fall very narrowly misses the top 20. |

17. Bazzi feat. Camila Cabello - Beautiful CR: 56-46-44-42-36-37-36-36-{33}-38-43-54->12 Score: 46 Votes: 9 +10s: 0 [highest vote +8 by Bjork, N-S & SevenSeize] 18. Nicki Minaj - Chun-Li CR: {26}-41-42-44-51-58-64-71->8 Score: 46 Votes: 8 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by Bré & Dircadirca] 19. Rita Ora feat. Cardi B, Bebe Rexha & Charli XCX - Girls CR: {22}-25-26-29-26-27-27-38-47-56->10 Score: 45 Votes: 9 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by Alex!] 20. The 1975 - Love It If We Made It CR: {33}->1 Score: 44 Votes: 10 +10s: 1 [SevenSize] So it was only The 1975 keeping The 1975 from the top 20. For everyone else in this section it's the end of the road as far as their representation is conerned with the exception of Camila Cabello who still has 'She Loves Control' to appear. |

The 1975's songs being in reverse order of quality, boo. And both of their good songs being behind 'Girls' why were we not allowed to do negative votes in this round xx Aw at 'Chun-Li' being so low as well but that's not too much of surprise.

13. Kylie Minogue - Dancing CR: 47-50R(5)-61-{38}R(5)-73->5 Score: 56 Votes: 11 +10s: 2 [Dannyboy & Jay] 14. The 1975 – TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME CR: {26}-46-40-42-41-42-45-53-58->9 Score: 52 Votes: 11 +10s: 1 [Whoody4Paramore] 15. David Guetta feat. Martin Garrix & Brooks - Like I Do CR: 65-69-65-40-32-{29}-32-35-32-38->10 Score: 52 Votes: 10 +10s: 2 [coi & Defaze] 16. Benny Blanco & Calvin Harris - I Found You CR: 35-40-40-{29}-54-71-58R(3)-43-51-61-66->11 Score: 48 Votes: 7 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by danG] The 2 dance heavyweights both fall in this section with what are generally considered not their best output in recent times. The 1975 have also left the building now along with forum fave Kylie who just misses the top half by virtue of fewer votes than the song in 12th. |

9. Troye Sivan - My My My! CR: {38}-53-60-64->4 Score: 70 Votes: 12 +10s: 1 [Nimbus] 10. Shawn Mendes - Lost In Japan CR: {30}-70-64R(28)-68-45-57-61-67->8 Score: 62 Votes: 13 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by digitalking] 11. Little Mix feat. Sharaya J - Strip CR: {25}-60->2 Score: 60 Votes: 9 +10s: 0 [highest vote +9 by ...ready for it, Defaze & ImTheLime] 12. Hailee Steinfeld & BloodPop® - Capital Letters CR: 59-{39}-51-56-57-73->6 Score: 56 Votes: 13 +10s: 0 [highest vote +7 by Defaze] All the songs in this section spent a sole week in the top 40. 'Capital Letters' impressively manages to finish in the top half despite receiving nothing higher than a 7 & it was a very close call on the top 10 between Shawn & Little Mix, the former being the highest finisher (and thus, the only one in the top 10) without scoring a maximum haul from anyone. |

6. Camila Cabello - She Loves Control CR: {40}-57-58-60-51-54-69-72-68->9 Score: 79 Votes: 17 +10s: 2 [...ready for it & ImTheLime] 7. Dua Lipa & BLACKPINK - Kiss And Make Up CR: {36}-39-43-43-51-44-68-45R(4)-51-65->10 Score: 78 Votes: 14 +10s: 1 [JosephAvery] 8. Lady Gaga - Always Remember Us This Way CR: 39-31-{25}-27-28-34-41-39-63-60-74->11 Score: 73 Votes: 12 +10s: 1 [Alex!] The first of Gaga's songs falls in this section, her being the only act to have 2 tracks make the top 10. Top 40 scrapes by Dua Lipa & Camila Cabello also depart, only the top 2 received more votes than 'She Loves Control'. Which leaves us with a top 5 of: Au/Ra & CamelPhat - Panic Room Billie Eilish - when the party's over Jorja Smith - Blue Lights Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - I'll Never Love Again Years & Years - Sanctify To be revealed later! |

good to see Au/Ra still in contention, she'd be a great winner and I think it's possible.

5. Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - I'll Never Love Again
CR: 35-34-{27}-29-32-35-45-49->8 Score: 81 Votes: 12 +10s: 3 [Klumzee, Liam & Riser] Finishing in 5th is one of a handful of charting tracks from A Star Is Born. This song was of course massively overshadowed by 'Shallow' but nonetheless picked up a few weeks in the chart. |

4. Years & Years - Sanctify
CR: {25}-30-29-29-29-35-47-51-65->9 Score: 91 Votes: 15 +10s: 1 [Dircadirca] Y&Y returned to the scene last year but it was their second release 'If You're Over Me' which became the big hit rather than this effort which threatened to do the same but never recovered to beat its initial week 1 peak. |

3. Jorja Smith - Blue Lights
CR: {38}-44-52-57-62-70->6 Score: 96 Votes: 15 +10s: 1 [Scene] Claiming the bronze medal for 2018 is Jorja Smith with 'Blue Lights' which just squeezed into the top 40 early last year. It originally surfaced over 3 years ago so it is somewhat amusing to be announcing it in as recent a contest as this. Alas, it did finish some way behind the runaway top 2... Au/Ra & Camelphat vs. Billie Eilish - who's taking this? This post has been edited by dobbo: Feb 19 2019, 09:33 PM |

2. Billie Eilish - when the party's over
CR: 50-34-39-29-24-{21}-28-40-39-67R(2)-61-71-70R(3)-75->14 Score: 118 Votes: 19 +10s: 2 [Bré & sergejdordij98] A valiant effort but ultimately just coming up short is Billie Eilish with her first UK top 40 single. It was unlucky to miss the top 20 officially but she has at least since had a top 10 single this year. |

1. Au/Ra & CamelPhat - Panic Room
CR: 73-72-55-50-44-39-40-38-35-34-35-38-33-{30}-33-34-48->17 Score: 133 Votes: 19 +10s: 8 [Bjork, Cucumberella, DalekTurret32, danG, Jade, Jason, N-S & Rush] So well done to Au/Ra & Camelphat who join Lorde, Calvin Harris, HAIM, Dua Lipa & Kesha as winners of this contest. It was tip & nuck between them and Billie throughout and despite the fact they both received the same number of votes, it was the value of the votes that tipped it in 'Panic Room's favour, picking up a whopping 8 top scores. Definitely my personal favourite of all the winners to date & part of a fantastic top 2! Thanks once again & see you all next year! |

Great to see! I suspect CamelPhat will be a strong contender for the 2019 version too with 'Breathe' (as it making the top 20 seems very unlikely).
