As much as I'd like more music from her, I'd prefer Girls Aloud!
EXCITING
Could this mean then that, she is after all planning to release in the states before her X Factor launch?
I have a feeling she's gonna go all dance-pop. I wouldn't be surprised if she did a near-to-rip-off of "On The Floor".
I doubt this, so the deadline is in May and the album released in August? it doesn't make any sense. A re-release? maybe, a new album? doubt it.
Maybe a deluxe MLR with 8 new tracks ala Fame Monster maybe, with a smiliar thing for the US of A depending on the X Factor.
Be the first one I won't be behind the counter to sell
I would prefer if she took her time and released it late 2011/Early 2012 instead of rush releasing another album for the sake of it and then giving up on it after 2 singles.
Ooh exciting! Maybe a bit soon for a whole new album, 3 albums in a bit less than that many years! I'm thinking/hoping MLR re-release, hopefully something like Cannibal/The Fame Monster (ie essentially an EP) instead 3 or 4 tracks like most.
As long as it's anyone but Pitbull! He's got around FAR too much!
it was in the news that Will.i.am is going to REMIX MLR for the USA!
Some hot news !
Far East Movement have confirmed working with will.i.am and Cheryl in the studio, and Lil Wayne is rumoured to be working with her too.
And according to some guy on Twitter, she said her new music will be a fresh start and will reflect better what she feels.
Bring on album 3 !
Doesn't sound too promising. Will.I.Am's production work has gotten awful. His songs sound so dated and they were the worse tracks on MLR. I can see this being another rush release with little input from her.
Cheryl + Lil' Wayne? YES PLEASE.
Can we get Rihanna in there with her too please!
I can't say this prospect hugely excites me, 3 Words had three decent songs (Fight For This Love, Rain On Me, Stand Up) and Messy Little Raindrops had one (Yeah Yeah).
For such a high profile star, she sure gets loads of awful songs that sound like cheap handed down demos that nobody wanted. I do hope they finally correct this for the third album...
3 Words was pretty solid, but I have to agree with MLR. I've never really connected to it very well. I've probably actually played Insatiable more since the dust settled so to speak. How The FLood got a release ahead of Yeah Yeah will forever puzzle me!
I actually preferred MLR I must be one of the only ones then. I thought it was far more consistant and showed some great development in Cheryl's vocals (Haters don't even bother responding to that point ) Happy Tears was amazing and should have seen a release.
MLR is deffo better, the only song I really dislike is Live Tonight, whereas on 3 Words Heaven and Make Me Cry were both awful. Plus MLR has the amazingness of Promise This, The Flood, Waiting, Yeah Yeah and Happy Tears, do that wins
'Messy Little Raindrops' was pretty crap, if I'm being honest. There were about four good songs on it, and I was majorly disappointed at the lack of direction for it. '3 Words' is pretty consistent throughout, with many more highlights.
The problem with both albums is how they were clearly rushed. "3 Words" moreso, whilst "Messy Little Raindrops" seems like other peoples leftovers.
3 Words was by no means a great album, but was well produced had great singles. Some fillers, but the fillers weren't bad per se.
Messy Little Raindrops on the other hand was a lazy follow up with approx only one very good song (Promise This). Rest sounded like demos, leftovers or were just bland. I connected with some songs (Promise This, The Flood, Yeah Yeah Yeah, Raindrops, Hummingbird) but all the songs except the first two mentioned I can't listen to anymore because they're so outdated already.
I love Cheryl, but her solo albums have been pretty much under expectations! So hopefully the third one will make her credible once again (if she even can become credible again)
Should be great, as Theo said, his best songs are usually given to the ladies so hopefully the same is true for Cheryl!
Sounds like we could be waiting a while for the album which is no bad thing. At least Nicola can help fill any wait
Seeing as this actually seems to happening, I'm going to pin this topic, if that's okay with you, Matt?
I don't know like, the power might rush up to your head
David Guetta and Cheryl Musical genius shall be created, I hope. She could have a big chart hit.
David Guetta said the Cheryl Cole collaboration rumours were false Was on radio news
Cheryl s working with Alex Da Kid! so now we have in that list Far East Movement, Taio Cruz, Wayne Wilkins and Alex Da Kid
http://alexdakid.com/
Amazing songs he produced
Oh my god! If that is true, I expect GREAT things - being the producer of 'Love the Way You Lie' and whatnot. Hopefully be another epic ballad from Cheryl, but with more percussion like 'Parachute'!
I've also seen Cheryl tweeting a lot more frequently about recording this, so this might mean they've only just begun, or they're coming to the end...
WOAH. Cheryl + Alex Da Kid can only = epic! So excited for this album, with all the collabs it's shaping up to be brilliant!
The album is shaping up to be pretty great by the sounds of it. I loved the first two so anything better and I will literally melt with excitement.
Oh no, I thought she's given up on music altogether?!
Will this be released before Christmas
She's working with Jim Beanz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Beanz
So the producers/writers confirmed so far are: Alex Da Kid, Taio Cruz, Far East Movement, Wayne Wilkins and Jim Beanz. Livvi Franc is involved in a couple of songs (writing)
I think the first single could be ready around February/March
I saw that too. If I think TOMORROW do I get it today?
'Fight For This Love' part 2 or NOTHING PLEASE Although anything like '3 Words' - the album - and I'll be happy.
Taio Cruz said in an interview that he has Written 3 songs for Cheryls New album
And hopefully 0 of them appear on it
So we'll be hearing the single later this month? EXCITE!
Going by that it sounds like she's gone for a re-hash of 3 Words, hopefully she hasn't used leftovers of that era like she blatantly did for the second album.
^ "will feature work from will.i.am and Taio Cruz".
Hopefully all involved will have upped their game this time.
Yes, I know about all of that. Remember it's not me who's fearing it'll be a rehash, I'm just posting what I presume is the thought process behind the rehash comment. They're two artists who made up more than 50% of her debut album, even though it was mainly will.i.am and just one Taio song.
Yet another article on Digital Spy today regarding the rumoured Rihanna collab, so hope this comes to fruition.
Cheryl has followed Calvin Harris whilst in L.A. - is he working on the album?! Seriously can't wait to hear some results now. Roll on first single.
Kimberley has confirmed on Twitter the third album is on its way ! She said she listened to a preview of it and it sounds exciting ! She was dancing to it so it must be good !
Cheryl Cole to debut new single on 'The Voice'?
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/s154/the-voice-uk/news/a362680/cheryl-cole-to-debut-new-single-on-the-voice.html
Surprise surprise! It was always going to happen when will.i.am was made a coach!
Cheryl always gets such great promotion and big tv shows which i believe have been the main contribution to her success. I dont think her material is any better than Nicola Roberts or Nadine Coyle but unfortunatly Cheryl has a far better marketing and promotion team behind her which has resulted in her outselling her band members. Her popularity seemed to have wained for her 2nd album and considering she has been out of the press for a while now and no longer has X Factor exposure i do think the 3rd album could possibly sell less than her 2nd.
This will be her "come-back" though. Having not released anything since The Flood in January 2011. I think it will be all over everywhere when she releases the first single from the album.
Will she sustain it though after the lead single? Cheryl managed it very well with the first album but the complete opposite for the second album.
I think they should have at least tried with a third single, there was no reason not to, Yeah Yeah or Everyone would have probably done better than The Flood. Hopefully they'll do at least 3 singles for this album.
Really looking forward to hearing some new material, just been listening to her first two albums.
The album is fianlly finished! Cheryl tweeted about it
Hurrah !
Hurrah indeed. I've listened to her solo stuff quite a bit lately. I am really rather looking forward to a new album!
She has been tweeting new lyrics apparently! I don't think I can contain my excitement any longer, we have to hear new stuff soon. Just have too!
Oh I forgot about those. They make me 90% sure it's a will.i.am track. Awful lyrics about the bass and stuff just screams him. Don't know if the public want a Big Fat Bass/T.H.E from Cheryl.
PUT THE BASS IN MY FACE!!
HAHAHHAHHAHA
Oh Chezza, what the hell?
I actually thought she was referring to the fish when I first read it
According to Dean Piper the producer of her first single is Calvin Harris:
http://deanpiper.com/2012/03/03/cheryl-cole-plans-her-big-comeback-with-a-little-help-from-calvin-harris/
http://www.muumuse.com/2012/03/cheryl-cole-to-return-with-calvis-harris-for-third-album.html/
They're following each other on twitter
Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. "We Found Love" is amazing for what the genre that it is, but it felt like the natural next direction for Rihanna. However with Cheryl, even though that sound will feel like a progression for her, it may be a bit too extreme for her 'hardcore' fans, especially as she hasn't released any particularly dancey tracks. Also, it seems Calvin's music is already starting to deteriorate, having heard his new song with Ne-Yo (and of course Tinchy Stryder's awful 'song' released last year).
Apparently Cheryl has recorded a 'mid-tempo urban ballad' written by Lana Del Rey which is tipped to be a single
Polydor/Fashination are trying to decide the first single.
I doubt that's the reason, if so, they are we to expect that she's been working with Gotye as well?
I have big hopes for the Calvin songs actually. Cheryl has always had that sound and tone to her voice that would perfectly fit a dance/trance track. We heard the potential in 'Waiting' (one of 3 highlights from the last album for me). So I'm looking forward to those songs more.
I think Cheryl would be perfect for Dance/Club music, she is regularly played on the gay scene nightclubs and its perfect for clubs, still hear 'Promise This' and 'Fight For This Love' quite regularly (Nothing to do with my requests, promise ) Plus they have been quite upbeat, I think that is where Cheryl has ben stronger really and she needs to change her sound. She can't just go round releasing the same type music as her previous albums, fans could get bored and we want to see progression from Cheryl!
Well Cheryl has confirmed that she's close to shooting the video for the first single from the album, so we should hear the single in the next week or two!
Exciting, can't wait to hear the single! It's felt like it's been a long time coming.
The last album era was over in a flash, so hopefully this one gives us at least three singles. Then ends just in time for the reunion.
Im reading on a load of sites that the 1st single is produced by both Calvin Harris and Will.i.am. Hopefully it sounds nothing like Britneys Big Fat Bass or The Hardest Thing
If it goes by the standards of We Found Love and T.H.E. add a dash of Cheryl, I shall be HAPPY!
This lack of news and then her teasing is just KILLING ME.
cant wait !!!
EXCITE. It's only since all of these new single rumours have started that I've realised just HOW much of a Cheryl fan I am. I want something epic, or failing that something new kinda quickly plsthx.
"This is war" is apparently a confirmed track for the album, not sure it is the single though.
Rumours that "Screw You" will be the debut single from the album
https://twitter.com/#!/supersonicpr/status/182868607963897857/photo/1
Picture of the album sampler!
I guess they have or are close to finishing the whole thing then! It's all come around so quickly, but I can't wait to hear new music anyway!
Just heard the 'Screw You' demo, amazing!
Really hope it's the right track & ends up on the album!
Definitely a #1!!
Here's the link: http://srfcole.tumblr.com/post/19795333428/audio-potential-new-cheryl-cole-song-screw-you
Ok I really hope that isn't the single to launch this era, I hate it
I can't really tell with the LQ. I think I really like it though
I won't fully judge as it's in LQ, but it sounds potentially amazing Surely a big hit anyway, it sounds very current and a nice progression on from what Cheryl has done previously!
Now that Tulisa's done the whole "UK female copies We Found Love" thing first I'm hoping Cheryl dumps the Calvin stuff or at least doesn't lead with it.
lol, as if they would when everybody knows We Found Love is from Calvin and he has worked with Cheryl, not Tulisa. So if someone is copying another is Tulisa copying Rihanna... and again, her song is shit so who cares?
The MEDIA care. Since when have they been reasonable, logical people?
Na, it's just a reason for her not to use it as the lead single mainly. But also I don't really want it on the album because I'm bored of Calvin.
Can't wait for 'Call My Name'
A friend of mine teased that the album title has three words to it, and the first word is 'A' lol.
So so exicted for this. Better be worth the wait! No shit like the last album please. One of the worst albums I've ever bought and I love Cheryl.
Album is called 'A Million Lights', me likey!
NEW ALBUM
A MILLION LIGHTS - JUNE 18
I love this title ! Colour me excited !!!
Love the title 'A Million Lights'
Best titles yet, Really excited for this now! Can't wait till Friday!
That's a really nice title! Her best yet, not that it's difficult (3 Words is okay, but a bit cliché).
Well it wasn't ever going to be hard to beat the name Messy Little Raindrops
Love the title! I wonder if there will be a song on the album with the same name?
Arena tour? Yes please!
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a377810/cheryl-cole-for-autumn-arena-tour.html
Oh my !
I'll buy tickets the SECOND they go on sales if she does a UK tour ! EXCITING !
There's a deluxe version available to preorder on the system at work
I saw that recently, as much as I'd like bonus songs, I'd prefer to just have one longer album rather than two versions of it.
Cheryl basically confirmed the tour on The Chris Moyles Show this morning, which is great news! I'd love to see it; despite her not being the best vocally, she'll be sure to put on a great show.
Cheryl's confirmed that there will be between 16-18 songs on the deluxe edition! Hopefully at least 13 on the standard then.
Unless the songs are all of amazing quality then I'd much rather just have the standard 11 or 12. Not another album full of filler this time please.
I will take the 5/6/7 filler songs if the rest of the album (ie. the 12 main tracks) are all GOOD. None of this Hummingbird, Let's Get Down, Happy Hour nonsense please Ms Cole.
She has recorded a duet with wretch 32
I don't know if this has been heard before, but here's Love Killer:
http://soundcloud.com/cherylcolemusic/love-killer/s-S0clz
As usual, Cheryl's voice ruins it but I love the production.
4th track heard and 4th track loved, going well so far. Maybe this will be my first album of hers that I become addicted to!
I like "Love Killer". Slightly repetitive though.
PS where's the album cover/tracklist?
I love the production on it. But the vocals remind me so much of 'Better To Lie' from her last album, so the melody of the vocals don't seem to go with the melody of the track (if that makes sense?)
Love Killer
Not really feeling it (sorry Carlos don't lynch me). It's alright but I'm not a huge fan of the dubstep-lite thing and like Jonjo said the vocals feel unsuited to the track as a whole.
Tracklist!
1. Under The Sun
2. Call My Name
3. Craziest Things (Ft Will.I.Am)
4. Girl In The Mirror
5. A Million Lights
6. Screw You
7. Love Killer
8. Ghetto Baby
9. Sexy Den A Mutha
10. Mechanics of the Heart
11. All Is Fair
Deluxe Edition:
12. Boys Lie
13. One Thousand
14. Telescope
15. Last One Standing
Hopefully that looks like there's no Wretch 32 duet then! There was always going to be a will.i.am feature - I only liked one of them from Messy Little Raindrops ("Live Tonight"), so hopefully it's a step-up from those. I'll hopefully be purchasing the deluxe edition!
Artwork:
STOP TRYING TO MAKE 'CHERYL' HAPPEN.
That is beautiful! She looks so good, and I love the editing of it! I'm not really bothered about her dropping her surname, but that font looks great on its own without any other text.
I've heard people say it looks cheap, which I suppose I cannot really deny, but it is SUCH a huge jump up from her last cover. It's eye-catching, bold, she looks really good and you can already get a sense of the type of music that'll be on it by looking at the cover. I think it's pretty well-designed in that sense.
'Sexy Den A Mutha'?
Lovely artwork though, and the album is sounding good so far!
3 Words artwork >>>>>>>>> AML >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MLR
Why is not A Million Lights on the cover?
Artwork + song titles = HILARITY. Oh CHERYL.
I have to admit titles such as 'Ghetto Baby' and 'Sexy Den A Mutha' do not fill me with confidence.
Horrible cover, what is with that font?
Sexy Den A Mutha sounds awful, but never judge a book by its cover and all that. The artwork looks really nice I think.
I love the cover, I think it's her best one yet and it's ridiculous how good it is compared to 'Messy Little Raindrops'. I really like the font and how it's alone, don't mind that they're making "Cheryl" happen.
I like the cover well enough but I really cannot see past the horror that is 'Sexy Den A Mutha' right now. WHAT IS THAT.
It's pronounced "mother" I'm not really bothered about song titles; they rarely tell you about the song (unless it's "Swagger Jagger"). The rest of them without use of deviant spelling/slang all seem like good titles, but they could be bad songs and vice versa!
Guetto Baby is the Lana del Rey song, Sexy den a Mutha was produced and written by Taio Cruz and Fraser T Smith
Well if Taio is involved then I'm going to write off Sexy Den A Mutha but with Lana behind Ghetto (Guetto?!) Baby then I have hope for that.
Not a fan of the cover which is a shame.
Sexy Den A Mutha really sticks out like a sore thumb in that tracklisting
I thought that she was collaborating with Rihanna
The trend of terrible album covers continues I see, except this is maybe not quite as bad as the other two...
The Alex da Kid produced track is "Under the Sun"! I'm hoping for excellent things from it, but it may be a bit strange going straight from that into "Call My Name"...
Cheryl's been tweeting some more lyrics:
She's performing at G-A-Y on 16th June.
I've just preordered the glorious Super Deluxe edition.
http://store.universal-music.co.uk/restofworld/Artists/Cheryl-Cole/icat/cherylcole
Looks amazing! If I'd have known about it sooner, I could've preordered a signed edition. Hopefully I'll still get this anyway.
Are the bonus tracks from the deluxe edition on The Soldiers' Edition as well as other songs?
Oh my God I have to get the Super Deluxe version. It looks AMAZE.
She's done an interview with Popjustice:
http://www.popjustice.com/interviewsandfeatures/cheryl-cole-interview/92541/
FAIRLY GOOD. Got a bit awkward towards the end with some frosty moments but then that always seems to happen with Popjustice interviews. Not too much of interest there but I love that she wanted 25 songs on the album. Thank goodness they talked her out of that.
I'm not sure what to think after reading that interview. She doesn't really seem into making music as much as she makes out that she is. She doesn't seem THAT involved in the process OR particularly enthusiastic about her solo career. Continually telling people "I didn't write it, don't ask me what it's about" comes across as a bit arsey after the second or third time too. It's a good interview though. Popjustice definitely doesn't back down.
I read on Digital Spy yesterday she never wanted a solo career, will.i.am pushed her and it ended up going from there. Doesn't surprise me, as Slick said she doesn't seem massively content with it, I think she's fine with being Nadine and Sarah's back-up and getting a verse now and again on Girls Aloud songs.
I love that interview though, good on them for not just backing down and doing a dull interview where they comply to what she wants.
So there's like 20 tracks with the soldier's edition? YES PLEASE.
I think i'll get the Super Deluxe.
She comes across really badly in that Popjustice interview. She hasn't even bothered to find out what the lyrics of her lead single actually mean before releasing it? Okay Cheryl, okay.
It's not even as if she has songs with that much depth to them, surely even if she doesn't seek it out she can easily tell what the song is about so she can respond when they ask her!
Well yes, she does get a few verses but what I mean is she might prefer sharing the limelight, I worded it badly sorry!
Plus I don't take huge notice of who's singing what, I do love GA though
I'm so playing it at work the moment it arrives (to drive pre-orders of course )
Went all rebellious and played 3 Words at work tonight Might get Messy Little Raindrops out on my late next week
Gonna have to cancel my deluxe one from hmv to get this super deluxe version. Although £20.98 with the p&p isn't great when I'm saving for a holiday. But I need it!
That interview was good, I thought. It's well known that Popjustice is a prick, so I approve of Cheryl sticking with her answers rather than saying "oh blah blah it actually means ****sleep****" - everyone knows that "Call My Name" is a fun pop song to get her name back in the spotlight, and once it's been a success, she'll release something with more meaning, just like the Messy Little Raindrops campaign with "The Flood" following "Promise This" (although that could be perceived as having some personal meaning).
CLIPS ARE HERE.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0089ZQDIQ/ref=sr_1_album_2_rd?ie=UTF8&child=B0089ZQDZO&qid=1339194125&sr=1-2
Sound DECENT but not amazing. Eh. Less uptempo than I was expecting even with Cheryl saying it wasn't a dance album in the interview. Ghetto Baby sounds fab! Sexy Den A Mutha isn't bad either so I guess we can relax about the titles now.
'Sexy Den A Mutha' needs to get in my ears RIGHT NOW. Heartbreak over how that clip teases you with just the first few seconds of the chorus then rudely snatches it away.
'One Thousand' also sounds fantastic. Should be another mixed album from her.
'A Million Lights' is already my favourite song of hers just from that clip. I actually felt something just from the 15secs, actually sounds believable!? Her voice sounds decent and the productions great! Something about the vibe/atmosphere. Best live up to the clip!
I am really liking 'A Million Lights', 'Screw You', 'Sexy Den A Mutha' and 'Mechanics Of The Heart' so far from those clips. Overall though, it doesn't sound that good, which is disappointing as although her first album was only OK and the follow up was diabolical, I thought this could actually have potential to be good as she had much more time on her hands to do it well and put the time in. I have to say though, from the clips, it doesn't sound much worse than '3 Words', just the production sounds piss poor on some of the tracks, for instance 'Boys Lie'. I will try and wait for the full songs before deeming this to only be an OK album yet again, but from the clips, it is pointing that way for me.
I don't really think we can talk about the production until we can listen to HQ versions, I have Telescope in HQ because it was available in my country, not anymore though because iTunes got it wrong and they uploaded the same EP from the UK when they only wanted to upload Call My Name and one remix.
Anyway, my point was that Telescope sounds bad in that clip but the song in HQ sounds really great.
Loving the clips...it all sounds so much more polished than 'Messy Little Raindrops' which is definitely not a bad thing.
Whereas that album seemed really sloppily put together, it seems like a lot more care has been put into this one to make it feel more like an rather than simply 15 songs after one another. She said that in the popjustice interview but I wasn't sure if it would actually be the case!
Is it me or do the clips sound like she's bored/can't be bothered? They just seem lifeless to me. The production is a step in the right direction though. I just can't get past that she sounds bored on majority of the tracks (bar 'A Million Lights' - where I agree, she sounds so sincere and it's lovely from the clip) I'll still listen to this with an open mind though, as it's a Cheryl album. But I'm not expecting the full album to be too much better. (Hopefully it is though)
No it's not her tone. I love her tone (I've always said this). She hasn't sounded quite as bored on the previous two albums for example. She actually sounds like she wanted to make those albums and was into them. But I dunno. Maybe it's the production of the album which doesn't compliment her voice as much? I dunno. But something's lacking by those clips. (But that's all they are, clips so hopefully the full thing will be better)
I feel completely the opposite, especially compared to MLR, album she has even said she really wasn't into it...
SEXY DEN A MUTHA MUTHA
No it's not?! What's well known is that he asks some challenging questions rather than letting his subjects spout a load of PR he could just as easily get from a press release. His interviews are usually a pretty good indicator of which popstars have a sense of humour and which don't.
Album sounds like a mixed bag, as ever with Chezza. Under The Sun, Love Killer and Telescope sound great. Craziest Things, Ghetto Baby, Sexy Den a Mutha not so much.
Mechanics of the Heart sounds beautiful - what Happy Tears should've been.
My favourites from the clips are Mechanics of the Heart, Sexy Den A Mutha and One Thousand!
Boys Lie sounds horrible though!
Mechanics Of The Heart, Ghetto Baby, A Million Lights, Telescope and especially Screw You all sound really good! A bit disappointed on the whole though, she sounds bored on some tracks as Jonjo said and I'm not a massive fan of how much dubstep lite there appears to be going on...
Looking forward to this album
I noted she sounded really bored on her first album, less so on the second. I can't say I'm picking up it on these tracks as much?!
She apparently claimed at the Summertime Ball today that either 'Under The Sun' or 'Screw You' will be the second single from the album. I am hoping for 'Screw You' as its probably my favourite of the clips.
Cheryl confirmed after she left the stage that her next single will be either Under The Sun or Screw You.

I've not listened to the clips yet (dedicated fan ), but if it's "Screw You", she HAS to perform it drunk every time!
from the clips this seems to be her best album yet!!!
"Craziest Things" was just played on Radio 1 and it sounded very good from what I heard/remember. That's the first thing that I've heard from this album too, after "Call My Name"!
I'm really looking forward to the album now! I've managed to stay away from everything, and only glanced over the tracklist, so I can be all full of joy on Monday (or hopefully before if the super deluxe dispatches early!)
She premiered "Craziest things" on Radio 1 this afternoon ! So good !
I'm avoiding all clips of the album until I can listen to the whole thing, it's killing me. Too much temptation
Anyone else ordering the box set?
Yeah, I preordered that last night as well!
I have too! I'm slightly confused about it, we don't get the deluxe edition with it do we? But i'm so excited for that extra CD and photos.
I've read a few international fans saying theirs have shipped. Hopefully the UK orders are shipped soon, would be great to have it by the weekend!
The 9 track CD, as Hayzayy says, presumably the 4 bonus tracks from the Deluxe are included on it. There's an exclusive track called 'Teddy Bear' confirmed as well. The remaining 4 tracks are still a mystery!
SCREW YOU is out on Vevo !
Screw You is pretty damn good. If that's released next it'll be her best second single yet.
Here's the radio rip of "Craziest Things" too:
I'm not going to listen to "Screw You" or any of the others, but that is probably the track I'm most anticipating!
Screw You sounds really good, much better than what I expected after hearing the preview! Craziest Things also sounds better than I expected, but is not as good as Screw You!
so I think they went with Screw You as the 2nd single since it was in the game and it's now on vevo.
OH AND IT'S PRETTY DAMN GOOD.
'Screw You' sounds very decent, better than her previous 2nd singles.
Can this just leak now please? Clips all over the place, radio rips, Vevo videos, snippets, demo's... I'm getting tired of this waiting! Bieber has leaked, just give us Cheryl and be done with it maaaan.
This is album is going to be epic!
Craziest Things and Screw You are equally amazing.
I'd buy a Rihanna album without listening to any of it first, well apart from the single.
'Screw You' is brilliant, I'm glad Wretch 32's part isn't big as I don't like him.
WOW I adore Screw You on first listen, only bad thing about it is that the swear words are blocked out and the fact their won't be an explicit version, but oh well I shall still sing 'f***' lol
Screw You is RATHER amazing. I had no idea it featured Wretch, somehow. Dunno if it would make a good single but yeah I love it.
Also I tend to do the not listening to album leaks thing too. I did it with Britney and Marina. I MEANT to do it with Cheryl but that didn't really happen. I won't listen to anything else after Screw You!
"Under the Sun" is being played at 8am on Capital - that's another that I'm really looking forward to hearing, due to Alex da Kid being on production!
What are all these random premieres!
Under The Sun
I like it but I think Screw You is far superior for the 2nd single!

Under The Sun on youtube now
I like this "premiering album songs" tactic - it'll certainly make more people aware that she has an album coming out. Actually feels like there's a buzz about it, outside of the usual fans & loons on Twitter/forums!
On the Soldiers CD, there is :
- Boys lie
- One thousand
- Telescope
- Last one standing
- I like it
- Make you go
- Dum dum
- Teddy bear
Which makes it 8 tracks. There is one missing or it's a video or something.
Just heard and listened to 'Telescope'. It's beautiful. It's as close as she'll get to her own 'Set Fire To the Third Bar', which is fine by me!
Sexy Den A Mutha is sooo
Ooh! I love 'Under The Sun'! I think that will be a single at some point definitely!
Presumably 'Dum Dum' is this Lana Del Rey song:
http://en.musicplayon.com/play?v=236114
I like that! Can kind of imagine Cheryl's take on this.
'Under The Sun' is fantastic! Great light summery pop song. I think I might be in the minority who prefer it to 'Screw You' too.
Can't wait to get my hands on this album now and glad to see 'Make You Go' on the super deluxe version, love that song!
My super deluxe still hasn't been sent out
But we have had the deluxe playing at work today Amazing Hope my Cheryl t-shirt arrives for Monday
Mine was dispatched yesterday and I only placed my order on Tuesday...
Under The Sun is amazing. So happy it's the 2nd single instead of Screw You.
Out now in Ireland? Expect some/all songs on youtube later today.
This youtube user is slowly putting the full album up..
If anyone wants to listen

Full leak! Downloading as we speak.
Listened to the majority of the main tracks... On first impression, it's without a shadow of a doubt her best album by a mile. You can tell she's worked on it over time as opposed to a 2 week recording session like the first 2.
Out of everything I've heard I'm still not convinced by Cheryl Cole as a solo artist at all. Apart from "Call My Name" and "Fight For This Love" I really don't feel there's anything else she's done that no-one else could do (and miles better at that I may add). But there's always demand for her and being that pretty / having so much of a media presence will only really help her shift the units - but yeah, she can't sing (and that's proven by the loons in here even going "she actually sounds quite good here!!") She's supposed to be good nearly all of the time children.
Jeez, the more I listened the more I'm REALLY surprised at how good a Cheryl album is. I've always been a fan (obvs, I'm a geordie lass!) but always been really underwhelmed by her solo albums. Last One Standing is spectac. I hear it's a bonus track!?!
Im shocked that I actually like this album, not to sound like a hater but her first two albums were complete garbage...IMO. UTS and AML are my favourites so far!
PS. Everything I said is very subjective~
Really loving 'Ghetto Baby' and 'Love Killer'. Hopefully both will somehow become singles!
The clips I heard a few days ago didn't fill me with much hope for this album. From those I thought it would be like the first 2, mostly average...
clips don't give that much of an insight though, because I love it!
Faves so far:- Call My Name, Killer Love, Sexy Den A Mutha, Under The Sun and All Is Fair
as I expected from those clips... HER BEST ALBUM YET!!! many faves, almost no skip songs so I look forward to the super deluxe tracks
There is only 8 tracks on the Super Deluxe edition, not 9 like stated on the website, Just had mine delivered
Mine's arrived! I got bought the deluxe version.
anyone has the 4 bonus tracks from the super deluxe edition?
Mine got despatched yesterday, and I paid extra for delivery, so fingers crossed it's sat waiting for me at home when I get in!
Is anyone able to send me the three new songs on the Soldiers' Edition?
Fantastic album and it works really well as an album, unlike 'Messy Little Raindrops' which had such a mish-mash of styles. Favourites are 'Call My Name' and 'Love Killer'.
'Ghetto Baby' is amazing.
This album is really good. She's progressed so much as a solo artist, especially after feeling like she took a huge step back with 'Messy Little Raindrops'. I'm not sure I love the highlights as much as my favourites from the '3 Words' album, but I'm definitely preferring it as a whole. Quite surprised actually. The clips really don't do it justice. 'Under The Sun' is, indeed growing on me. But I'd still prefer 'Screw You' as a single over it. But it's a grower for sure. 'Telescope' is seriously beautiful!
First listen rate:
08.0 'Under The Sun'
10.0 'Call My Name'
06.5 'Craziest Things' (feat. Will.I.Am.)
07.5 'Girl In The Mirror'
09.0 'A Million Lights'
10.0 'Screw You' (feat. Wretch 32)
08.0 'Love Killer'
06.5 'Ghetto Baby'
07.0 'Sexy Den A Mutha'
07.5 'Mechanics Of the Heart'
06.0 'All Is Fair'
06.5 'Last One Standing'
05.5 'Boys Lie'
06.0 'One Thousand'
10.0 'Telescope'
I can see many of these growing on me.
I am very impressed actually with this effort from Cheryl actually. Overall the album feels like it flows very well and although some of the songs still seems like 'will this do?' type songs and I feel she has used the waterdowned dubstep a little too much in some tracks, most of them are actually very impressive and very well produced. This is clearly better than the alright '3 Words' and the poor 'Messy Little Raindrops'. She has shown some good progression here.
8.0 Under The Sun
8.5 Call My Name
7.0 Craziest Things (ft Will.I.Am)
7.5 Girl In The Mirror
9.5 A Million Lights
9.0 Screw You
7.0 Love Killer

8.5 Sexy Den A Mutha
9.0 Mechanics Of The Heart
8.0 All Is Fair
6.5 Last One Standing
5.0 Boys Lie
7.5 One Thousand
7.0 Telescope
Overall, its a 7/10 album but has potential to become a 8/10 effort. Good work Chezza.
Cheryl's voice is beyond weak on this album. However, the songs are good enough that it doesn't distract.
Really enjoying the album after 2 play through. Already my fave of hers.
"Teddy Bear"
"I Like It"
"Dum Dum"
Songs off the soldier edition
Strong enough album, Im shocked more people don't love Mechanics Of The Heart, it better be the third single its my favorite Cheryl song ever. No suprise that the weakest song on the album had involvement from Will.I.Am.
8 'Under The Sun'
9 'Call My Name'
3 'Craziest Things' (feat. Will.I.Am.)
6 'Girl In The Mirror'
8 'A Million Lights'
6 'Screw You' (feat. Wretch 32)
5 'Love Killer'
7 'Ghetto Baby'
7 'Sexy Den A Mutha'
10 'Mechanics Of the Heart'
6 'All Is Fair'
6 'Last One Standing'
4 'Boys Lie'
9 'One Thousand'
7 'Telescope'
this is a pretty solid album she has really found her sound Screw You must be a single plus i really like the Will.I.Am track
My ratings of the "Soldier" edition tracks:
08.0 'Teddy Bear' [This is lovely. Her voice is beautiful on this!]
07.0 'I Like It' [This song feels like there should be a hook in there, but it doesn't quite have one. It's rather strange. Production wise though, reminds me of something from Britney's 'In The Zone' era!]
07.0 'Dum, Dum' [It's decent enough I guess. Very European in the sound. Reminds me of Hadise's stuff. Good, but I can see why it was "only" on the special edition of the album.]
My ratings -
8 Under The Sun
10 Call My Name
6 Craziest Things
8 Girl In The Mirror
8.5 A Million Lights
11 Screw You - OBSESSED with this
10 Love Killer
9.5 Ghetto Baby
9 Sexy Den a Mutha
8.5 Mechanics Of The Heart
8 All Is Fair
8 Boys Lie
7.5 One Thousand
10 Telescope
7 Last One Standing
7 I Like It
9 Make You Go
8 Dum Dum
8 Teddy Bear
Nothing less than a 6, by FAR her best album to date!
I'm finding 'Love Killer', 'Ghetto Baby' (it's obvious it's a Lana Del Rey song - That's not why I like it either, as I'm sure a lot of you will know I have no time for her ) and 'Mechanics Of The Heart' to be the biggest growers for me.
Also: MOTH is reminding me of 'Fly' in the production in some places.
The beginning couple of seconds of 'Boys Lie' reminds me so much of the opening to 'Girl Overboard' by Girls Aloud on the Tangled Up album. Shame the rest of the song doesn't live up to that.
08 Under The Sun
09 Call My Name
07 Craziest Things (Feat. will.i.am)
09 Girl In The Mirror
07 A Million Lights
06 Screw You (Feat. Wretch 32)

07 Last One Standing
07 Boys Lie
08 One Thousand
09 Telescope
05 I Like It
06 Make You Go
07 Dum Dum
06 Teddy Bear
I can see why certain tracks are bonus ones. Not overly keen on Screw You. Hope it's not a single anytime soon.
MIne hasn't arrived It better arrive on Monday DPD!
Numero Uno
Well, it is now! #2 and #10.
It's almost like you want her not to be #1! Very pessimistic. I don't really see why her album should falter, coming off the back of the fastest selling single of the year so far.
Justin Bieber doesn't have the same kind of impact here as he does in the US and Canada. Case in point, his Christmas album reached #1 in those territories, but #13 here. His 'Boyfriend' single hasn't sold much more than 180,000 in total here so far. I don't doubt that his new album will do well here, but on paper it should be a Cheryl victory. She has a considerably more successful hit single, and has far more press coverage & hype. Great promotion too.
I shall get the best indication today when I put loads of Cheryl through the till and the odd Bieber.
Don't forget Cheryl has 2 signings as well.
This album is easily her best! I loved 3 Words, but this is way more coherent, has a sound running through it and doesn't just sound like thirteen b-side/demos chucked on a disc, I'm a happy fan right now <3
Teddy Bear is way underrated though, should have been on the main disc cause it's beautiful. Hope, by some crazy miracle, she performs it on tour.
The album is seriously so good
Her best for sure, and each day it grows on me lots.
Now let's hope she gets the number 1 spot ! I've never considered Bieber as a threat, has he ever sold that many albums in the UK ?
I am really loving this album, especially after 2nd and 3rd listens. It's so much stronger than her previous two - the production particularly has improved heaps which I guess is expected when you branch out a bit. Highlights for me are 'Under The Sun', 'Screw You' and 'Sexy Den A Mutha'.
No doubt in my mind that Cheryl will be number 1 with at LEAST 70k.
^^ The Amazon/Play etc charts don't tend to reflect the eventual midweeks/Sunday chart very accurately.
For instance, Alexandra Burke's 'Heartbreak On Hold' was #88 on Amazon, on her first day of sale (more accurately, Monday at 3:33pm - I found a post I made stating this). She actually charted at #18 on the Sunday.
If anything, it's iTunes that tends to reflect what will end up occurring in the album charts.
#1 A Million Lights (Deluxe)
#2 Believe (Deluxe)
#6 A Million Lights (Standard)
#22 Believe (Standard)
Cheryl will be #1 - the Soldiers' boxset will presumably be added to sales figures, and I'm sure she has enough fans to buy that and at least one other version. Justin's début My Worlds has now sold 700k compared to 3 Words' 990k. I know they're different artists, but then you see that his fanbase couldn't even get his Christmas album top ten, whilst Cheryl's fanbase gave her another almost 500k of Messy Little Raindrops.
I know it's a bit of an ask, but could someone kindly send me a link to the "Soldier Edition" bonus tracks, please? Thank you in advance.
No, buy it yourself
(In all seriousness, I would, but I'm getting it for my birthday so received it yet )
EDIT: She has a live webchat on http://www.muzu.tv/cheryl/cheryl-live-chat-music-video/1422412/ at 4pm
I attempted to watch the live chat but the awful presenter put me off after about a minute.
Haha, he really was bad! I was disappointed that we didn't find out much apart from that the next single's being filmed next week, but I guess she has done loads of interviews for the new album already, it was only expected that we'd hear "what animal would you be lololol" type questions.
Was going to buy this today, but the only copy in the shop I went into was in a really damaged case, so I didn't want it.
Screw You NEEDS to be the next single its probably my favourite ever Cheryl song she songs sounds so good on it and I can already picture a video for it .
Bieber #1 on iTunes...
I'm going to jump on the pessimism train with Carlos too and predict #2. I do think she's currently outselling Justin on iTunes but we'll have to wait and see how things pan out throughout the week I guess.
Really hope she does get a #1 if the last 2 albums can get there when this is by far her best yet this deserves it!
#1 Believe (Deluxe)
#2 A Million Lights (Deluxe)
#4 A Million Lights (Standard)
#8 Believe (Standard)
I still have faith in Cheryl, but if I'm wrong, then so be it.
Aren't physicals still the bigger seller for albums??
Anyway I'm on the frontline so I know what is happening on the physical front I'd have to say Cheryl nipped it today where I work, (excluding my 2 copies), so if you multiply that by 200 odd, and the fact Newcastle will sell tons more Cheryl because of the signing and location, I still have optimism on my side!
And oh yeah! My super deluxe arrived today
I've just discovered the bonuses from the Soldiers CD ! They're actually amazing !
She deserves that number 1 so bad, come on England !!
tbh Cheryl Cole will easily outsell Justin Bieber this week!
physicals sales for Albums count more than Itunes, So i think Cheryl will get #1.
Yep. Believe it or not, the physical market for albums is still quite a bit ahead of digital downloads. So I can see Cheryl walking it.
On my way to the Toon!
I never even considered that Cheryl wouldn't get the top spot with her album :/. Where did bieber fever come from over here, still no number 1 single, Boyfriends chart run was nothing too impressive. I really hope she managed to get #1 by Sunday...and if she doesn't it will be yet another testament towards England's awful music taste.
#2 in the midweeks - I'll hold my hands up and admit I was wrong with my over confidence. However it's still early days, and it's not over until Sunday! I still have faith.
Some guy wrote on some site that Cheryl sold 137 k copies of her album, and other guy on that site wrote that Cheryl is #2, so I think we should all chill down and wait for more reliable sources.
Sat on Northumberland Street now! How my bum is becoming numb.
I think we'll have to wait until the Official Chart update tomorrow, to know what's really going on!
The album is a lot better than the previous 2 but i think it would be much better if she had a stronger voice
A million lights the song and all is fair are both stunning, great improvement on her ballads on this album. The start of one thousand sounds so much like beyonces run the world when I listen to the chorus of that song all I can imagine is Cheryl doing the weird twitchy chicken dance beyonce does at the start of the video
Cheryl had a mega signing today at Newcastle right...even if all those people did not get to go the signing i persume some ended up buying the album anyway...
itunes will push her over 10k for day one. i think mids tommorrow will show her at 18k-22k at number 2 with bieber at 24-28k. He's beating her on all online sites right now. BLAME TEENAGE GIRLS they are insane, they have made 1D insanely huge and let The wanted and JLS get away with releasing substandard music still going to number 1. It's the teenage girls that have done this again.
9k for her for day one ain't great.
By a general estimate you always do MAXIMUM four times the tuesday figure...
so last week she sold 40k day one, so 4x40 = 160k, so she did 152k
She won't be able to push more than 40k this week...with 9k day one.
Oh why didn't she just release later in the year like September and the aloud and Cheryl record could have sold together.
I know the reunion but this is awful sales for her...
Bieber....go away! this is not the states - this is just another market to him, to cheryl and fans this is home. I hope he doesn't get it.
the album market is so awful right now, probably better to sell a few weeks later.
I don't think the 11.99 deluxe thing is helping her, people see that and go i'll buy it when it's reduced. they where probably banking on mega fans buying it three times but it was poor choice i've thought it since also it makes her album seem less good with more filler added in. her standard album is much better.
People dont look arounf for the 8.99 version or presume there isn't one and voila she's lost a sale.
She'd be lucky to do 50k in the week she'll do 40 summit i think. Not great for cheryl...
I want another number 1 album!
I thought Cheryl's last two albums were good, but after listening to this a few times it's like a different league. I don't think the album is as "hit packed" as the other two (though it still has enough options), but I'm so pleased she seems to have found herself as a solo artist here. This dubstep-tinged urban angry Cheryl is the sort of artist I wanted her to be as soon as I heard she was doing a solo album. Even the ballads are a lot more listenable on this album.
My favourites are "Love Killer", "Screw You", "Girl In The Mirror" (she reminds me of Katy B on this one) and obviously "Call My Name". "Sexy Den A Mutha" is also a lot better than the title suggests. The production on this album is a lot more imaginative and interesting, it has a cohesive sound. I can't wait to see her on tour!
I don't suppose anyone could point me in the direction of the Super Deluxe tracks?
Carlos, you're boring me and everyone else with your forcing of opinions on everyone as if they are fact. Could you please tone it down a little and respect the other members?
Still in a daze after las tnight Got tagged by Sky on my way out too
In love with 'Mechanics of the Heart'
It's really not the end of the world if Cheryl doesn't make #1 you know. To have a third solo album go Top 2 would be almost as amazing (although I do admit that her best album so far missing out when the previous two didn't would be frustrating, but it's not the be all and end all.) People should just be happy that her third era is looking like it's going to be a success when these things are never guaranteed.
I agree. I get the feeling it'll peak later in the year too. I do think it'll go to number 1 at some point. Whether it'll be the slowest sales week of the year, so be it.
Certainly a more cohesive album than '3 Words' and 'Messy Little Raindrops'. I definitely still think '3 Words' has more higher highs (hello '3 Words' and 'Parachute') ! But this album does have a few gems, those being 'Girl In The Mirror', 'Ghetto Baby', 'All Is Fair' (mostly for the backing), 'Last One Standing' and obviously 'Call My Name'.
Do people seriously love 'Under The Sun', I find it pretty dreadful, certainly shouldn't be the second single. 'A Million Lights' is TERRIBLE too.
I really hope this album can go to number 1 to prove that she doesnt need x factor to have a number 1 album
Album finally arrived today. Currently loving Mechanics of The Heart and Ghetto Baby the most but the album overall is brilliant. I don't think there's a single dud.
4,99£ on Amazon, get it NOW !

06 - One Thousand
07- Telescope
05 - I Like It

SO MANY TENS <3 I seriously love this, as an actual album aswell, not just a Cheryl Cole album. There are a few duds, but altogether it's easily her best work IMO, proper love it!
did anybody order the boxsex this week???
mine still in progress for 4 days now
Bought the standard, can't resist for £4.99!
My album ranking so far:
01. Screw You
02. Love Killer
03. Girl In The Mirror
04. Call My Name
05. Sexy Den A Mutha
06. Craziest Things
07. Boys Lie
08. Under The Sun
09. All Is Fair
10. A Million Lights
11. Mechanics Of The Heart
12. One Thousand
13. Ghetto Baby
14. Last One Standing
15. Telescope
Very strong. I'd say even "Telescope" is a 6.5/10 moment. I'm glad she's released a properly good album instead of a mixed bag of tracks. If anyone's got the other four tracks, they'd be much appreciated.
I think it's fair to say the album could have done without the second lot of deluxe edition tracks. None of them sound as good as any of the other 15 tracks.
I prefer 'I Like It', 'Make You Go' and 'Teddy Bear' to quite a few songs on the standard tbh! 'Dum Dum' is the only weak link from the super deluxe.
"Make you go" is my jam at the moment, I seriously love it
I received the boxset yesterday, it looks proper lush !
Coldplay are promoting A Million Lights on Facebook this morning, so weird but I love it !
They love Cheryl
The album is up to #2 on Amazon ! Best position since he got released, and Bieber is down to #10 !
Back to #1 on Itunes as well !
The price reduction is doing wonders, I hope it shows in Sunday's results...
Actually excited for the chart whatever happens. Not back at work until Saturday so I'll do everything I can to give it a little push then!
Cheryl's just beating Bieber here, but both are being dwarfed by that dirty book!
Posts deleted. Please don't post any spoilers, whether tags are used or not.
Well go me for seeing the spoilers. Call My Name slayin~~~ etc.
EDIT
I swear you posted Call My Name's position hours before the chart show last week Theo?
I can see that it's different with this though as it's an obvious close battle, I managed to not look at the spoilers thankfully! It was different with CMN as it was an obvious #1, ahead on iTunes all week etc.
No, Lee.
There is a big difference between posting the results of say, the Voice and posting chart positions not yet revealed by radio 1 on this site.
Any more posting of these spoilers will result in warns being issued. I hope this is clear.
Why has my post been deleted? it wasn't a spoiler...
Thanks Jester, Gezza and Martin. I would usually leave spoilers, but as Liam said, it is a close battle this week, and the posters had used emoticons in their posts which would pretty much give away what's said in them anyway, rendering them pointless.
Safe to talk about it now.
#2 is still really good, of course. It's just a bit disappointing for her to be so close, yet so far.
Ahh well #2 is still great, Would of loved her to get her 3rd #1 album tho!
She should have taken advantage at the fact Bieber wasn't in the country and done TV promotion. All she did was two CD signings. Both limited to 500 people.
I'm sorry but I'm with Lee on this one. If they were in spoilers, I don't see the harm, at all. Why do we have the spoiler tags, if we can't post stuff like that? It's a bit strange. Fair enough, delete the emoticons (that annoys me too how they don't get spoiled) but I honestly don't see the problem with posting spoilers, within a spoiler tag. (Seeing as that's what they're used for)
EDIT: No need to call him a "Twat" though Lee. That was a bit unnecessary.
Screw You also enters the official chart @#100
AML can get the #1 soon I hope..
Don't highlight the spoiler then? If you highlight the spoiler then you have no one to blame but yourself. (No point in taking them out the trash can now though. I was just putting my opinion in (as I wasn't around when it originally kicked off and I don't like seeing one person get ganged up on by 4 or 5 posters.)) That's why the spoiler code is there, imo. For stuff like that. If it's not then I don't see why we bother having the spoiler code for anywhere other than TV/Film threads
http://www.officialcharts.com/album-download-chart/
Maybe more signing would have helped her?
I'm pretty sure that spoilers HAVE been posted before in this forum though (maybe not quite as early as 1pm, but time shouldn't matter). Which is why it's baffling. But this is why we have the spoiler codes. I don't see the harm in someone posting the spoiler, if it's in spoilers. and they don't post an emoticon that gives the position/sales away
Oh and I knew you weren't "ganging up" on him, I'm just rubbish with words and couldn't find a "nicer" way to describe it
Oh dear, that's annoying! Re: Download album #1!
I thought it was just standard procedure. Someone goes into relevant artists thread and posts (in a spoiler) the position and sales. Nothing gets said. (Well I haven't seen it). I knew about the "not posting before Radio 1" rule but I just thought that was in the Sunday Chart Show thread. (Which is understandable)
Less than 35k and today #12 on itunes album chart.
I get that it's "classified information" and stuff I just don't get why it's all of a sudden just come to managements attention? It's definitely been done in the past (on more than one occasion and the only place I have seen action being taken is within the Sunday Chart show thread) and I'm sure the posters involved thought it'd be OK because in the past it has been in spoilers and not been acted upon. I don't think anybody's ever reported it to management because they weren't sure themselves, maybe? I personally haven't reported it before because I'd seen it done before and people discussing the position and sales and stuff, so I didn't think it was a problem and thought it was OK because it was in spoiler tags.
But I now know that if it was to happen in a forum where I'm modding, then I'll remove it and give a quick edit to that post and let people know the proper rules. So I'll definitely try my bit now. But I'm sorry if this was blown out of proportion, I was just confused as to why it'd been allowed in the past but not now.
Shocked at how low the sales are, its such a shame she finally brings out a decent album and whilst its not doing bad its doing no where near as good as the first two.
Down to #6 in the first midweeks, I love this album, I have the ''Soldiers Edition'' just amazing.
I'm in heat magazine from the Newcastle signing.
I shall be doing a signing for that in a McColls near you soon
this really is her best album by far such a shame to see the early sales so bad hopefully with further single releases people will see how decent the songs actually ar and keep the album consistently selling :/
It's going into hmv's 2 for £15 chart offer tomorrow. Hopefully that should help a bit!
That offer is for most chart releases. (2 for £10 is the one for floppy/older albums)
Matt, is Justin's album going in that offer? If so I may take a trip to HMV on Thursday...
Since the album hasn't done great sales wise, hopefully we can look at getting a few more single releases! Anyone agree?
I hope this GA reunion doesn't get in the way of Cheryl releasing more than 2 or 3 singles for this era. Mechanics needs to be released.
As far as I'm concerned, this era can finish at the end of her tour & then HELLO GIRLS ALOUD, WELCOME BACK.
I think it's clear the label are only intending on 'Under The Sun' & 'Screw You' being singles.
Midweek #9 this week, while Justin is midweek #12. A little late to be ahead now, Cheryl!
I'm glad she maintains a top 10 position though, any extra week there is good, until the promo for "Under the sun" kicks (which shouldn't be before August )
WOAH. These past couple of days (since I bought it actually!) 'Ghetto Baby' has grown on me, immensely! It is so, so, so good! I'm not even a Lana Del Rey fan, but although the structure is very LDR, the production is very Cheryl 'A Million Lights' and makes it sound amazing, imo. I love it when a song just unexpectedly grows on you like that!
I don't understand her, why she isn't promoting. Why does she disappears when she has music out? 1 month without a performance, an interview... just before her new single and album were released.
I don't get it.
There was promo into the album week! A lot of UK artists don't really do anything major between week 1 of their album and the lead up to the next single. I doubt we'll see her do anything else until August.
T4 performance, mainly! That was a good slot - not a lot of pop acts release an album having the opportunity to perform two album tracks. There was also G-A-Y, the album signing. The single being at #1 was great promo in itself, with the song very high on TV & Radio. She had interviews in print too. The exposure was definitely there.
To be quite honest, I'm not as incensed about it as you are. At the end of the day if Cheryl's comfortable doing seemingly little towards promoting her album, then that's her look out & her team's, really. You & I did our parts by buying it, so there's no point in us arguing about it imo. My overall view is that her promotion was reasonably satisfactory.
The interviews thing is kind of a problem though. She hasn't wanted to talk about her personal life, and she has very little to say about her own music too. That pretty much leaves her with nothing interesting to talk about - evidence being that she reels off the same thing in all the magazine interviews, and all the journalists make comments that basically imply she is quite difficult. I think a stumbling block with Cheryl is that she's losing her connection with the public.
Cheryl has done more promotion so far this era than she did in the entirety of the last era, and probably the one before that too. I always criticized her for being more preoccupied with X Factor than with playing the part of the popstar, but I think she's definitely delivering so far this time.
Well I heard that she's due to release a "reveal-all" autobiography in the autumn, so we'll hear her view on her personal life there if so. I do agree that it was annoying when she brushed over Graham Norton's single question about it though.
She needs to get 'Under The Sun' video out there sooner rather than later (and hopefully bring the 'official release' forward a good few weeks.

"Under the Sun" surprised me with how good it was for some reason, mainly because I expected to prefer "Screw You", although I was still looking forward to hearing both of them.
The ballads aren't as strong as the rest of the album, but are a nice break after every few songs.
"Last One Standing" is the best song from the deluxe editions, but I'm not sure it would've fit into either section (tracks 1-6 make the first; 7-9 the second and 10-11 don't really fit into either or with one another, but they do with the deluxe tracks, weirdly).
A very strong album overall, with many highs and a nice range of genres/sounds.
Hoping Cheryl does some promo around the next few weeks to push it into the top 10 again.. It's a shame it's not doing as well as '3 Words' or 'Messy Little Raindrops' saleswise.. hopefully the sales will grow when a few more singles are released!
Down to #32 in todays midweeks
#33 today.
This chart run is starting to shape up as worse as the 'Sound of the Underground' (album)
It's really quite alarming just how much she's been benefiting from Christmas sales in the past. I thought it'd at least make it past 100k before bombing.
We have to remember she's dropped one single and done NO promo for the album.
I thought the low sales climate would benefit her chart run but even that hasnt happened. Its a strange outcome so far, the lead single has done very well, the album has got great reviews, she is a big name, her previous albums have done well whereas this album is out a month and hasnt managed 100,000 yet. Albums are so hard to call these days, the 2nd single needs to do reasonably well for her as if it does the album will pick up again but if the singles go like her last album, this album will be very lucky to do 200,000.
Summer is a hard release, Kylie;s aphrodite was released in or around the same time, granted it opened on much higher sales than cheryl but for me it seemed forever to reach platnum, plus releasing in the summer you dont get much of a x mas sales boost as by the time x mas comes round summer albums in general are forgotten and i think a million light will see the same pattern as kylies aphrodite but may not reach platnum. Also just look at how mdna has gone for Madoona, its out near 3 months and hasnt managed 150,000 yet, as i said unless the artists promote like hell and manage a few big hits single the albums just lose momentum so quick. Rihanna is an artist who knows how to do this so well and she managed to sell albums, on saying that she works too hard i think plus has become far far too over exposed which is off putting
Im not Cheryls biggest fan but im looking at her album from the fairest point of view i can.
Album up 10 places to 38 this week, "Under the sun" is starting to make an impact !
EDIT
how much has this sold now? im guessing about 70k?
Up 1 place to #37 this week !
#37 and sales of only 2,500, it is good the album has made a top 40 return but i really believe this album is almost dead in the water and wont garner up alot more sales worth talking about, 200,000 final sales looks the best outcome now.
For all the graphic geeks out there, you can buy the font for this era here : http://www.hypefortype.com/browse-fonts/font-categories/experimental/nerc.html
Why she won't release A Million Lights in the US, I'll never understand. Especially since she RECORDED it here... Rude... I'm also disappointed with the sales of the album too considering how well her other projects have sold.
Unless a repackage comes soon for the album it will never see 200,000 Uk sales which is disapointing when looking at her previous credentials.
A Christmas gift from dear Chezza
...does this mean it's a single?
She won't have time to promote it till April!
It won't be released. This isn't an official video either, it's just a collabo with Hunger Mag and Rankin like she already did last year, this time the video just happens to be about her own song instead of a song from another artist like it was the one from last year, Drive from Alpines.
I wish she had managed to squeeze in releasing 'Screw You' between 'Under The Sun' and the Girls Aloud greatest hits album
However Under The Sun remains the best thing she's ever done for me. I'm hardly the biggest Chezza fan but I do surprisingly like all her singles to some degree!
Under The Sun >>> 3 Words >>>>>>> Parachute > The Flood > Promise This >>> Fight For This Love > Call My Name
For me it's:
'Fight For This Love' >>>...>>> 'Call My Name' >>>> 'The Flood' > '3 Words' >>> 'Promise This' > 'Under The Sun' >>>>> 'Parachute'
I really don't know why I dislike 'Parachute' as much as I do. I genuinely can't bring myself to listen to it. But FFTL will always be the greatest thing she's ever done for me. Not only is it one of her best songs (GA stuff included!) But it's a modern pop masterpiece in my eyes. Flawless pop song, which seems to have aged very well.
01 Call My Name
02 Under The Sun
03 The Flood
04 3 Words
05 Fight For This Love
06 Promise This
07 Parachute
But really, I only like the first two. Parachute is pretty much unlistenable, never understood why it was so successful.
Call My Name (Pretty much the best song she's released)
> Parachute
> Fight for this Love
>Under the Sun

3. Parachute

7. 3 Words
The first two are absolutely AMAZING. Call My Name just had to be first, it had me hooked for ages, but FFTL isn't too far behind. The next two are great, Under The Sun is good, Promise This is OK and 3 Words is just dire.
Parachute hate? It's her only song that I'd still listen to out of choice.
1. Fight For This Love (a total bonafide pop classic, deserves its success thoroughly)
2. Call My Name
3. Under The Sun
(Average)
4. Parachute
(Really bad)
5. The Flood (a song about incontinence, really Cheryl?)
(Totally unlistenable)
6. Promise This

1. Fight For This Love (obvs)

3. Promise This
4. 3 Words

Though that's not to say I hate 'The Flood' because it's last. I really like (or love) every single she's done so far.

'3 Words' is absolutely amazing 10/10 moment. CMN and Para are rather amazing too (9/10) and I've grown so fond of PT after hating it to begin with (probably because I always here it when I'm out HA!) And FFTL is great, but not quite as amazing as everyone make out. The other two are a bit shit, especially 'The Flood'.
Ghetto Baby is f***ing amazing, one of the best from the album.
YES at 'Ghetto Baby' love! I can't stand Lana Del Rey, but Cheryl's voice is much more catered to her material than she is, imo. She should stick to writing tracks for Cheryl. She can keep the dull 'Video Games' to herself though.
Ghetto Baby NEEDS a single push! One of Cheryl's best ever imo!
This isn't too 'Lana del Rey', so it suits Cheryl.
I like that music video for "Ghetto Baby"; it's obvious not ground-breaking or high budget, but it suits the song a lot. It was never one of my favourite off A Million Lights, but the performance of it on tour really brought it to life for me.
My singles ranking would be:
1. "Fight For This Love" / "Call My Name" - genuinely too difficult to separate! Both fantastic pop songs of completely different genres, it's kind of weird that they're by the same artist!
3. "The Flood"
4. "Parachute"
5. "Promise This"
6. "3 Words"
7. "Under The Sun"
My ranking goes like this:
1. Call My Name
2. Fight For This Love
3. Under The Sun
4. The Flood
5. 3 Words
6. Promise This
7. Parachute
For A Million Lights, I REALLY hope she resumes this era (after the GA Tour) and make Sexy Den A Mutha and/or Screw You as single releases.
'Sexy then a muthaf***a' has leaked !!
191. (RE) A Million Lights

"Screw You" explicit has also leaked *.*
Loving Ghetto Baby nice simple video too
Whoever picked the singles must have been high, Screw You and Sezy Den a mutha would
Have been HiTS!
'Screw You' yes, 'Sexy...' no no no.
'Under The Sun' has actually grown on me quite significantly since its release.
Under the Sun is by far the best on the album! That >>>>>>>>> everything else
Ghetto Baby though <3
'Under The Sun' still remains WEAK AS.
'Screw You' should have been second followed by a 'Ghetto Baby' or 'A Million Lights' release.
Gave this a spin yesterday and it's a better album than I remembered. The dubstep bits and bobs aged terribly but the main album is a very strong collection of songs.
'Screw You', 'Ghetto Baby' and 'Sexy Den a Mutha' should've followed 'Call My Name' as single releases in that order.
"Under The Sun" was a great single choice though. Perfect Summer single. But they could've also released "Screw You" and "Ghetto Baby". It's a shame the GA reunion cut the era so short.
