Reports have stated that our very own Motormouth Foden is working on her 'country pop' debut album. Expect 10 minutes songs with the ramblings of this queen wink.gif

YESSS MY QUEEN

Can't wait for her to smash in Fiji and Cambodia.

The irish Shania tbh. Bring it Una.

I'm actually kind of excited

Posted by: Hurricane 22nd April 2015, 06:26 PM

Actually a bit sad to read this.

I mean we all joked she would go on and do that kind of music, but I really thought she was more clever and self-conscious than that. Are people actually interested in a Country Pop sort of acoustic album from Una? unsure.gif Of all the girls, she truly was the one who would have slayed a Xenomania record. Even Xenomania seemed to have a preference for her voice.

Oh well. She does what she wants.

I'm ready for the feline register!

Can see her doing a Nadine, releasing one album and then flopping.

Posted by: Nelly. S 22nd April 2015, 09:04 PM

I can see her doing a Madonna tbh sleep.gif

Okay seriously, I think if she's the first to release an album out of the five, she'll do a Nicola Roberts. But that's it. She'll probably go into fashion in the same vain.

Omg, I thought this was a thread for Mollie's debut album laugh.gif Clearly I need some sleep drama.gif

Ok, so Una will get a decent top 20 and maybe a top 40 album in Ireland (if she can promote on the Voice), but maybe not anything more elsewhere.

Posted by: Liаm 22nd April 2015, 09:13 PM

Maybe she'll do ok in Ireland because of her profile but if people aren't intersted in the Sats as a group here I can't see how any of them will have solo success. Not music wise anyway, Rochelle is doing great as a TV presenter and I'm sure the other girls will find a niche for success in their own way.

Posted by: Nelly. S 22nd April 2015, 09:17 PM

I think Frankie will be a good personality for TV, Rochelle will get a good career as a presenter, Vanessa could get a career as Rochelle's understudy, dig a hole or something, Una will probably remain on the Voice for a while & Mollie will go into fashion. Musically, I hope Una can find success in Ireland to at least keep one of the sats in the music business.

*picks self up off floor*

As much as I dislike country I actually do think that is Una's best shot at success. Acoustic music is very in right now whereas pop and dance pop aren't. I think this is the case in Ireland especially.

Vanessa will release a killer solo album. It will go to number 1 and then Rochelle will collaborate with her and they will do a ***Flawless duet album.

I believe Una will have a successful album in Ireland, she's everywhere right now in Ireland.

The album of course will be lucky to go top 75 in the United Kingdom but top 15 should be achievable in Ireland. Her act is currently favourite to win The Voice! biggrin.gif

I just hope for her sake she doesn't distribute it in Lidl or something like Nadine and her Tesco record deal laugh.gif

Una Foden's brand new album now available at all local pubs.

I can see Una being big with a Radio 2 type audience. I have her EP from prior to when she was in the band on my iTunes and I'd love to see her carry on down that sort of route. If you've got the talent to play guitar it's silly not to utilise it.

Posted by: JSG 24th April 2015, 03:03 PM

Really I think we should just wait to see what her first single is like. She could slaaaaaaaay!

Una to make a long awaited return to Eurovision please!

(Far right backing singer!)

Well, the reality is that she's almost 35, from a flop girl group and trying to establish herself as a solo chanteuse - so who would be likely to play her?

Getting on Radio 2 and Heart FM is probably her best bet - it won't lead to hit singles but maybe a modestly performing album (ie top 40 and then falling out of the top 200 three weeks later). pirate.gif

Exactly, I think she's at a stage of her career when she is going to make the music she wants. I don't think she is going to care that much of how commercial she is going to sound, because her market will be minimal anyway. Big radios in the UK are not going to play a song from a former member of a girlband past its prime, nevertheless from the only member who is not from the UK. And The Saturdays were never that big in Ireland anyway, so it may be unrealistic to think that she can sell better than the group.

I think the career of Sharon Corr could be a good example of what we should expect from her.

It's not a crazy idea. She's a prominent Irish celebrity, with an extremely good relation with RTE. She would have the promotion sorted: single in Q4 2015, album in Q1 2016, promote in Una's Dream Ticket 3 and The Voice of Ireland 5, and then do Eurovision in May 2016.
