04. Pills n Potions - 8.91 (more 11's)
I'mma keep it moving, be classy and graceful Lovers: 11 - HausofKubrick Haters: 7 - Cremey, Neil My favourite song on the album, and thankfully because of that, it manages a #4 placing here scoring more 11's than the previous. A song that came out of nowhere, leaving people quite dubious but oddly excited about the return to a more glamourous, classy sound for Nicki. It did wane on me slightly after that and almost got forgotten in the crack of the animal that followed, but as time went on i rediscovered it, and now it's firmly in my top 5 favourite songs from her. It's the perfect example of less-is-more. Delicately open, wonderfully combining the metaphor of drugs, alcohol and all sorts of misdemeanours to explain the faults and follies of love. From the percussion opening that sounds like a distorted heartbeat, right through to that soaring chorus, the song is raw and passionate. Emotional throughout, it seemed to suggest what was to come for the album (ok, follow up single 'Anaconda' wasn't totally classy and graceful), but the rest of the album did indeed follow suit as Nicki revealed and spilled all of her potions. |

Pills N Potions is so underrated. It was a great single - it's a shame radios didn't touch it.

03. Get On Your Knees - 9.18
It's primal, I want you on all fours Lovers: 11 - April, Liam, Jonjo Haters: 4.5 - andreweeyor Lady of the moment, Ariana Grande teams up with Ms. Minaj in this catty, purring treat. Hilariously fun and bitchy with the lyrics, and exploding in the chorus with Ariana's signature squeals, there are many getting on their knees praying for this to be the next single. It is your third favourite song on the album here and it's clear to see why. The perfect blend of urban Nicki, rapping away in seductive fashion, married with an equally as alluring chorus. Another song that demands a video mainly because of how graphic and expletive the song is, it would be a wondrous thing to see these two leading ladies in their prime working it out together. An insight into their S&M sexual tendencies, but yet remaining graceful throughout it. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~ and with that, we are left with a top 2 of 'The Crying Game' and 'Anaconda'... What are you supporting? |

02. Anaconda - 9.59 Dick bigger than a tower, I ain't talking about Eiffel's Lovers: 11 - Josh, Davidson, Cremey Haters: 7 - Ryan So this is surely here iconic hit now, Nicki put her classy and graceful side in the bin for this and let it all hang out with this track. At first, this was a bit of a wtf moment and sounded like the exact thing that wouldn't be the hit that she need after PNP. Luckily, this all changed whent THAT video premiered and the song became huge breaking Vevo records in the process of world domination. This was omnipresent for days on twitter timelines and in YouTube parodies. This song isn't the best sonically but it makes up for that in the FUN category where her play on words is on top form. Sampling such an iconic hit clearly worked and it seems you all love this STEAMING hot mess as much as I do. Well done Buzzjack! 01. The Crying Game (feat. Jessie Ware) - 9.71 We're back to playing, the crying game Lovers: 11 - Tyler, jark, Acoustic Haters: 6.5 - Joseph If I were to review my ratings of this now, this would most certainly be my #1 so well done to Tyler, jark and Acoustic for getting it right the first time. Out of all the A-list collaborations on the album, you'd never think this would be the greatest of them all but Jessie provides one of the most hauntingly beautiful choruses in recent years I'd say. Jessie has one of the greatest voices around at the moment and her soft tone surprisingly works incredibly well with Nicki's more harsh raps. Nicki obviously hugely delivers here with highlights such as Sayin' we don't miss each other, but it's all fictitious, Sayin' that we had enough, but enough of what?. She also delivers singing wise as well with the perfect Are you alone? Do you need someone? verse. Right choice Buzzjack so I'll forgive you for the Trini Dem Girls mishap. |

YAY. 'The Crying Game' has really hit me while going through this rate. Her verses during it are a clear highlight of the whole album and Jessie's chorus is stunning too. Surely has to be a single at some point??
'Anaconda' is fun and always gets a huge reaction when on during a night out. A bit of a staple for her now and will probably go down as one of her most recognisable hits. |
