Seem to be less and less and singles coming out all the time, very little due out October onwards as things stand, will probably change though

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 13th August 2015, 11:29 PM

Its not that there are not singles coming out, its that as we get more and more OA/OS releases there are less being announced in advance

Posted by: AcerBen 14th August 2015, 06:18 PM

Indeed.. ROTD say

It looks like our New Release Singles grid (or the ‘industry bible’, as one key subscriber refers to it) will soon bite the dust at the end of September when almost all labels will fall in line with OAOS and just start releasing tracks without any advance notice. Good luck sorting your way through that endless maze of what your competitors may be about to release without having it to hand.

Posted by: AcerBen 14th August 2015, 06:22 PM

ROTD also saying James Morrison is dropping an OAOS single (no title yet) on 4 Sep
L’Tric This Feeling 25 Sep
Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - Soul Makossa out 2 Oct

Posted by: girl_from_oz 15th August 2015, 12:01 PM

So Lana Del Rey- Honeymoon coming Sept 18th, September is going to be crazy for album releases

Posted by: Golowhore 16th August 2015, 10:06 PM

JoJo is releasing three singles at once on August 21st: "Say Love", "Save My Soul" and "When Love Hurts". The latter will be the main single.

Is the new dr Dre album out on physical on the 21/8? If so is it just on cd or vinyl?

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 19th August 2015, 01:56 AM

Looks like CD only for the moment, and even then it may only be an import for now

Hopefully I'll know more when I do this week's schedule

Posted by: steve201 19th August 2015, 08:23 PM

Cheers manic, think it's an album that deserves a wee record purchase!

From ROTD:

In the same way that Modest-managed One Direction released their surprise single Drag Me Down a few weeks ago out of nowhere, with no pre-promotion, don’t be surprised if another act from the same stable hits us with a brand new song next week. (Olly Murs??)

Q4 album releases seem a little lacklustre so far, based on the evidence of what we’ve seen from the majors. Quite a few expected big names like Michael Buble, Emeli Sande, Coldplay, Bastille and Bruno Mars have
mnw slipped into early 2016 in favour of a slew of repacks and re-promotions from some of the year’s biggest sellers including Hozier and Ed Sheeran. There’s still no official word on the Adele album, of course, but everyone seems confident it’s on its way, Simon Jones from HJPR tweeted yesterday that he’d just been on the first promo shoot with last year’s X Factor winner Fleur East (whose album has confidently been described to us as ‘taking her into female Bruno Mars territory with world-class singles’) and we also know Ellie Goulding and One Direction will arrive in November. But surely only a fool would bet against the 2011 Michael Buble Christmas album sitting pretty in the Top 10 yet again for the fifth year running.

The James Morrison single is called "Demons", and is out 4 Sep.
Paloma Faith "World In Union" 25 Sep

Oh my, Diana Vickers is with Modest! it must be her!!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

But I'd assume it'd be Little Mix or Olly Murs as I don't think Cheryl will be releasing anything this year, and none of the other Modest! artists are likely to be considered in a similar position to One Direction. Except maybe 5 Seconds of Summer but I can't see them releasing another single that quickly.

Posted by: The Hit Parade 20th August 2015, 10:06 PM

5Sos already have an album scheduled, so a new single from them wouldn't be a surprise.

I'm hoping for Alison Moyet.

Posted by: JosephStyles 20th August 2015, 10:09 PM

She's Kinda Hot's EP/physical release isn't until a week tomorrow so I very much doubt 5SOS would push on with a new single now.
