for your information, Coldplay long passed Westlife as best sellers of the 21st century in UK Albums

Westlife:
World of our own 1,210K
Turnaround 750k
Allow us to be frank 650k
Face to face 1,345k
The love album 1,030k
Back home 1,000k
Where we are 600k
Gravity 325k
+ GH:
Unbreakable 1,800K
Greatest Hits 600k
= 9,310K
+ Westlife sold 1,200K in the 00s, is now on 1,500K so 300k in the 21st century
+ Coast to Coast sold 1,500K in the 00s, is now on 1,690K, so 190K in the 21st century
TOTAL= 9,800K

Coldplay:
A rush of blood 2,960K
X&Y 2,790K
Viva la vida 1,500k
Mylo Kyoto 1,536K
Ghost stories 695k
A head full. of dreams 1,209K
Prospect march EP 60k
= 10,750k
+ Parachutes sold 1,200k in the 2000s, now is on 2,710K
so 1,510K sold in the 21st century
TOTAL= 12,260K

still good for Westlife, not all karaoke bands sell that, but #1 is not even close

I wonder if they bit more than they can chew with Wembley and 2 Cork gigs. But then again, I doubt they would have done this if they weren't confident it will sell.

What makes you think they are not selling well?

Oh no, I don't think that they are but honestly didn't expect they would announce 2nd Cork gig. These are huge gigs and I just want them to do well.

They clearly realise the money is in the touring. Whether or not the singles do well or not I think they'll do alright with the album in Q4...100k minimum overall total sales I suspect - it'll go Gold at least me thinks.

I can’t take you seriously that you don’t realise that’s when it started! blink.gif

As you can see those 9 year old stats about WL being the biggest album sellers are no longer accurate.

Exactly. I think fans worry way too much about singles, they should forget about them having hits. It is not some tragedy or huge failure. Albums and touring are more important.

You can't escape it, the sound is all around the park. laugh.gif

Short of deafening myself with a corkscrew there wasn't a lot I could do, although I was tempted.

That sounds horrendous sad.gif

Louie Walsh and Cowell inflicted this tripe karaoke band on us!! It should have stayed in the past.

14 fake no.1s, totally manipulated, and with low sales. Eh. Oh Manderrrrr.

low sales because they were all due to fan base loyalty and not some one hit wonders or viral imported artist...
