So in celebration of the fact they are opening for Robbie Williams on fhe Aussie dates of his new tour, Lawson have just released a new single for free download on their website (www.lawsonofficial.com)...

Liking this a lot! Quite anthemic. Interestingly the album ID of this says that it's from the album 'Perspective' so I'm wondering if that's the name of the new album?

It's quite a nice track. Nothing amazing though.

Another decent track from Lawson dance.gif I may even prefer it to Roads actually.

I downloaded it yesterday and just gave it a listen. It sounds OK to me, will have to listen to it a few more times to judge.

As I said, I quite like it, it's quite anthemic. Not as instant as some of their other singles have been but I'm liking it.

So...I'm quite late to post this news but on Friday...we have MORE new Lawson music people...

It's varying from country to country - but we're getting a four track EP, on which is their next single 'We Are Kings', video of which is premiering on Friday:

Tracklist (UK only):
1. We Are Kings
2. Roads
3. Under The Sun
4. Mountains

International editions are getting an acoustic mix of 'Standing in the Dark' and also the 6 songs that were on the 'Chapter II' repack of 'Chapman Square'. Teaser previews of most of the songs are on their Twitter and Instagram etc.

I'm still a bit baffled as to why we're not getting a new album yet, but I guess this is the way quite a few artists are going now with all this 'death of the album' talk. Still, it's new music which is the main thing! dance.gif dance.gif dance.gif

With Andy's health I imagine they don't wanna push themselves. Anyway, they seem to be enjoying touring right now.

I think they are not wanting to release the album right now, but don't want to do a Connor Maynard and wait well over a year before the next single / album is out

None of the new songs are as good as the stuff from their first era but they sound pleasant enough. Maybe this E.P. is either to see how well its perceived or something to bridge the gap between the next album. I suspect their next album won't be out till early next year now.

Well they're hardly gonna release an EP and then a whole new album in the space of two months, are they?

What's wrong with Andy? The two times we've hung out, he's been fine?

Roads is the best song on the EP. We Are Kings is probably my least favourite.

We Are Kings is my least fave too, one of their weakest tracks ever. Mountains is like a sequel to Parachute though *.* Under The Sun is so funky.

06/10 We Are Kings
8.5/10 Roads
09/10 Under The Sun
102/10 Mountains

Oh Andy sad.gif

I swear he was drinking at Total Access but it might have just been Adam laugh.gif

Need to check this out though. It's not how they wanted to release it.

I love love love 'We Are Kings'! It's so fabulously 80s but in a good way. 'Under The Sun' is really catchy too smile.gif
