Israel Nadav Guedj - Golden Boy http://escxtra.com/2014/10/talent-show-win...present-israel/ QUOTE According to mako.co.il, Israel will send the winner of HaKokhav HaBa to Vienna next year. The talent show is known as Rising Star in other countries. After months of uncertainties surrounding Israel’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, it now seems to be confirmed that the talent show will be the way to decide Israel’s next entrant. It has however not yet been announced how the song for the HaKokhav HaBa winner will be chosen. Israel has been struggling to get a good result in Eurovision for a few years now. Their last top ten finish was six years ago, in 2008 when Boaz sang The Fire In Your Eyes. None of the acts that followed him managed to reach the top ten, with the last four acts even failing to qualify for the grand final. Last year, Mei Finegold represented the country with Same Heart. Even though she was a favourite to many, she failed to qualify, finishing 14th in her semifinal. Hopefully Israel will finally qualify for the final again. I'm still in mourning over 'Same Heart' |

ESC Today have announced that Nadav's song will be titled 'Golden Boy' and has been composed by Doron Medali.
EDIT: And apparently it's entirely in English, a first for Israel if that's the case? |

This is coming within the next hour, it's an uptempo party song with ethnic elements I believe. And here are some potentially iconic lyrics:
QUOTE I'm a golden boy Come here to enjoy I'm the king of fun Let me show you how we do it I'm a golden boy Come here to enjoy And before I leave Let me show you Tel-Aviv |

Sounds great! Not a ballad. But Israel have struggled to make the final with amazing songs the last few years and I can see politics getting involved and people not picking up the phone for them this year even if it's great but I hope I'm wrong.

It has just premiered on IBA News and it is very fun, and completely in English as expected! Definitely what this Eurovision needs in terms of it being a fun uptempo ethno-pop song. It's not lifechanging but a very fun pop song!
He seems like the sort of artist you would give a big ballad too considering he is a talent show winner, so it's great to see him get a song that is perfect for his age. |

Glad we have something uptempo. The song is very Middle Eastern sounding, it's alright but nothing special. He looks like a dad on a night out dancing to me 😂

On my second listen to this (I absolutely love it), it occurs to me that this is actually quite contemporary with the same sort of funky-pop feel that lots of big hits have. I think Israel have really pulled a blinder on this one, if this doesn't make it out of the semi they'd have every right to withdraw, but I'd go so far as to say this should be a big contender. Note the word 'should', but it's not that unlikely given how different it is to the rest of the field.

When I lived in Germany I use to hear a lot of songs like this in clubs so on that basis alone I think it could pick up some points! |

Still living for this. I mean the verses are a complete rip off of 'Sing' but THAT CHORUS slays me everytime
