Some friends of mine in their early 20s were genuinely surprised to learn recently that Mr Brightside is from 2004. They thought it was some old 70s/80s song that had been around for many more decades than it has.

It is a new mix of a song on their last album and has been out for a number of weeks already. The new mix with Michelle visage will feature on the new album. Good signs for when the new lead single comes out.

It's odd given how well both "Midnight Sky" and "Prisoner" did. And we've seen a few post-album singles do really well streaming-wise recently. Harry Styles "Watermelon Sugar" and Dua Lipa's "Levitating". I assume the label just isn't really pushing the song much which is a shame. It could be an easy top 40 hit if it got some streaming/playlist support.

If a post-album single shows signs of life (charts with 500,000+ Global streams daily) Spotify will support it. This was the case with Save Your Tears, Watermelon Sugar, Golden etc. However Angels Like You didn’t get a huge boost in streams from the video and therefore it was doomed.
