BuzzJack Music Forum _ Ariana Grande _ Should've Been A Single 2019: Round 2 (My Everything)

QUOTE
Version 2: Two years later!
Ari has had SO many smashes, many of which never got blessed with a video, radio airplay, multiple live performances or became beloved by the GP like many of her smash hits today.
Simple question and with no limitation to answers, which tracks do you imagine would/should have left a mark on Pop Culture and deserved a place in Ariana's 'Singles Discography'?
We're giving you ALL, a job as Ariana's bestfriend and record executive and travelling you back in time...

In order to decide which song will be lifted as the next single from Ari's smash hit albums you will...
RULES:
- Vote for ALL of the songs that you would have liked to or think would have worked as single releases.
- Last time the top 3 tracks moved onto the final from each album, however this time we have 5 albums worth, so only the top 2 will be making it to the next round.
- After each album is complete, all of the tracks will compete in a head to head 'Eurovision style' vote.
- Promo Singles WILL be included.
- Polls will be 3 days apart, voting will remain open.

thank u, NEXT: It's time to explore the possibilities of Ari's 2014 darling of an album, that really propelled her into super-stardom: 'My Everything'. I love when you post what order you'd release as well, find it (strangely?) interesting. Some real highlights on here for me and possibly BIG smash hit opportunities. Personally I would have loved to have seen 'Why Try' and 'Break Your Heart Right Back' hit the charts, also I think 'Hands On Me' might have made a nice final single as a nice bridge between eras. But to be fair, Ari and her team nailed the singles run here anyway, if anything I just would have slapped 'BYHRB' as final single in the summer. 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart' also got quite a lot of exposure, charting top 50 on US iTunes, top 100 in Australia and top 200 in the UK after a performance at the Grammy's. Maybe it would have been the perfect opportunity to release it to radio?

1. Why Try
2. Best Mistake (feat. Big Sean)
3. Be My Baby (feat. Cashmere Cat)
4. Break Your Heart Right Back (feat. Childish Gambino)
5. Just a Little Bit of Your Heart
6. Hands On Me
7. My Everything
8. Only 1
9. You Don't Know Me

You are not wrong, when it was announced 'One Last Time' was the next single, I was beyond thrilled, because at the time I was convinced it would be something more R&B and I was so worried the world wouldn't get to hear it, took 'Love Me Harder' a little time to grow on me, but boy did it grow!

I've voted for the same two as Jonjo!! Would have loved a Just a Little Bit of Your Heart video heart.gif

Yep I’m another one who has voted for ‘Break Your Heart Right Back’ and ‘Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart’! I would’ve loved the former as a single in particular. The run of singles we did get was pretty flawless nevertheless. Although I wish ‘Love Me Harder’ had performed better in the UK. If only The Weeknd had his breakthrough a year earlier!

Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart is so so good, really wish that had been a single! Other than that, I think the single choices for this album were already perfect (I’ve gone for Best Mistake as well so I haven’t just voted for one), but I just wish Love Me Harder was a hit too!

Well thankfully Love Me Harder still managed a Gold cert in the UK, ofcourse it deserved much more.

Break Your Heart Right Back & Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart easily.

I went with BYHRB or Hands On Me as potential fillers in between One Last Time and Focus, but if I'm gonna be honest, the only song I was praying for to be a single when the album came out was Love Me Harder. Got my wish, so I let the chips fall where they may. Her team handled this era beautifully.

Break Your Heart Right Back and Why Try

Tbh with this album problem and break free both aged so badly for me.

Her weakest album for sure now.

Thanks everyone! Great turn out so far! Only 3 votes away from last time and as expected, similar results too.

Dangerous Woman coming tomorrow, keep voting in every album thread!

I feel like they basically got this era perfect as it is, although I'd probably pick 'Why Try' out of what's left.

I remember at the time I was a bit blink.gif that 'Love Me Harder' was the third single over 'One Last Time', but that's since got the recognition it deserves so it all works out.

Yeah the singles were pretty spot on for this era, although Why Try and Just a Little Bit of Your Heart would've made great singles I think. heart.gif

The impact of 'Only 1' actually only having 1 vote heart.gif
