October sees the 10th anniversary of the release of Melanie’s debut solo album 'Northern Star’ and to celebrate we’ve got the NS:10 month of prize giveaways and exclusive signed items for you to get your hands on.
Starting on September 28th, we’ll be having a week long auction for charity of some limited edition poster prints. These A3 posters, produced solely for this special anniversary, feature the album artwork and each of the 12 in the lot have been individually signed by Melanie with a section of handwritten lyrics to each of the 12 tracks on ‘Northern Star’. Week 2, it’s time for you to get creative with our ‘Be A Northern Star’ competition. We all know and love the famous outstretched arms ‘Northern Star’ pose on the back of the album and it’s up to you to have your pictures taken doing that pose somewhere interesting, strange, funny, wherever, and the most unique (and not photoshopped!) background will win a batch of ‘Northern Star’ era goodies. In the last week of competitions, we’ll be having a ‘Northern Star’ related video question or quiz of the day from Monday to Friday with daily prizes up for grabs, including signed album samplers and posters. And if that wasn’t enough ‘Northern Star’ goodness, throughout the four weeks there will also be a poll to find the fan’s favourite ‘Northern Star’ album track, threads for you to chat about what the album means to you, memories of certain songs and also the return (for four weeks only!) of the Friday Frenzy. http://www.melaniec.net/board/index.php This post has been edited by This Time: Sep 28 2009, 08:13 PM |

The first part of our NS:10 celebrations has begun with the start of the charity auction. Have a look at our lots and the collection of posters featuring Melanie's autograph and a section of handwritten lyrics to each song from the 'Northern Star' album. As the description says, these posters would look stunning in a frame, they are purely one-off - both the posters are limited edition and these are the only ones which have been signed in this way.
