I'm not mistaken they're the girl group with the most million sellers, and I read an article recently that said they've tied the Spice Girls for most Platinum singles, so they'll soon have the most of those too. Also, once Glory Days goes 3x Platinum, I think it'll be the first studio album from a UK girl group to do so since Angels with Dirty Faces, and the first studio album from any girl group since PCD. Long may the slayage continue!

It’s not though. I mean technically it would have sold enough to be triple platinum now, but the BPI only award their certifications at the end of the sales week. Some stans are just good with math and have decided to give it to them early because they were only about 50 copies behind at the end of the last sales week.

To be fair - if they have a sales spike over Christmas (with a TV show - a night in with LM please) then the album could go as high as number 4 on that list. There's not loads of sales separating positions 4-10

Are Woman Like Me's sales its chart sales? I remember when the OCC first switched the streaming ratio from 100:1 to 150:1, BPI kept their formula the same. Now that the OCC has made even more changes to their formula, does BPI still use 100:1 or have they changed theirs as well?

Power is a prime example of streaming creating million sellers that have no-where near the impact of million sellers from years before streaming... It's in no way whatsoever had the same impact

Yeah I agree it hasn't had the same impact as actual million sellers but in terms of their best sellers it's definitely up there as one of their most well-known. Especially considering as it was fourth single from their album. Still goes off when I hear it on a night out.

Don't get me wrong it's a good song I really like it, and I think it's a great single for the girls. I just miss the days of million sellers actually being a niche thing which it simply isn't anymore thanks to streaming which is ridiculous quite frankly.

Their combined sales put them at 16 million records compared to 14 million of Spice Girls. Hats off to them they deserve it for sticking together for so long, hope they continue!

Had a sales update a week and half ago but forgot to update.

Sorrryyyy.

But here they are:

840,000 up from 785,000 for Woman Like Me
1,110,000 up from 1,069,957 for Glory Days
850,000 up from 818,589 for Get Weird
260,000 up from 224,312 for LM5

Some tidbits and info:

- LM5 seems underwhelming, but albums sales nosedived completely between Glory Days & LM5 (and it didn't have the 4/5 singles campaign that their albums previously had - as well as the label issues etc.. (I'm confident that this would have been platinum had the era not been messed around with so much))

- I've been told that on the old ratio, WLM would be on 1.1m and not too far off Double Plat! Not bad for a "flop"

The sales for LM5 are obvious disappointing overall but the album stuck around much longer after the promo had finished than I expected. I thought sales were going to cut off closer to the 200k mark but the tour and 'Wasabi' being a hit with TikTok videos seems to have put close to Platinum on the horizon.

'Love Me Like You' re-entered the old rules Top 200 the week after Christmas (presumably the festive version appeared on Spotify playlists). It placed at #110 with 15.8k chart sales, taking its total to 734,021.

Girls received a plaque for 700 million streams on Brazil and 10 certified singles, amongst which diamond certifications (160,000) for Woman Like Me and Black Magic.

Bounce Back has been certified Gols (20,000). The rest are hard to tell, but they’re all different degrees of Platinum (Reggaetón Lento is already, at least, 3x Platinum, as CNCO received a plaque for it when they did a concert here).

Yes. The info for their earlier hits are a lot harder to source, especially as they never really appear on the charts much. We'd have to wait for the OCC or somewhere to do a sales list, but then, we usually only get a handful of sales from the tracks that we already get updated for.

I need to update with some of the last few WW sales we got in here, but UK sales are as up to date as possible.

Updated BUS with a guesstimated total sale of 20,000 sold this week (could be slightly more, could be slightly less - #17 did 20.7k), which brings it's overall total to: 126,904 around 2.4k behind 'Word Up!' and around 60k behind HYD last known total update (which was around 2014/15 I think?)

There's a problem on Spotify : Powers's streams for the duet version and the original version are the same since Little Mix catalog has been updated on the plateform.
Power with Stromzy had 154.000.000 streams, and Power without Stromzy had 65.000.000 streams.

Now the both versions have 66.000.000 streams... Spotify hasn't fixed the problem and it appears they won't fix it

I'm surprised the girls talked about potentially being dropped after Salute. A platinum album (I'm guessing it was at least around 300K at the end of it's promo cycle?) and two hit singles is a success?

Wow sales for Holiday are starting to look really decent!

In fact all of this years single releases are really selling well.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I wish OIBM never happened, it’s so lacklustre to me and it’s sales are terrible compared to the rest of the discography.

Their selling power is really insane..

Their pure single sales in the UK were at 2.98m in November 2018 and then in November 2020 they've almost double to 5.8m..

and now with the exception of 2 songs, all singles they've released have been certified silver or higher in the UK too (not counting No Time for Tears cause it's been out for like 4 minutes)

Do we have any recent sales figures for Word Up?

Seems like 2021 will be a big year for them reaching some more certification milestones.

Black Magic will definitely go 3x platinum, I doubt it would shift 50k by July, but doing that would be great for its 6th year anniversary! Reggaetón Lento is also looking at 2x Platinum this year, but will probably take a while.

Glory Days is going to go 4x Platinum and Get Weird is going to go 3x Platinum w/LM5 also finally reaching Platinum. Doing this they will tie Girls Aloud with having 5 consecutive Platinum studio albums.

With Black Magic going 3x platinum they will be the only girl group in UK history to have two songs reach that milestone.

and off the top of my head I believe they are the only female act in UK history to have 11 consecutive platinum singles (Black Magic - Woman Like Me) Rihanna, Ariana, Madonna, Adele and the Spice Girls don't have this, with the latter two being the closest to it. If somehow Adele's Rumour Has It & Turning Tables go platinum, she will match it. A lil useless fact that i'm sure has been said xx

It's just so great to see their longevity when just looking at their sales.

Get Weird was definitely one hell of an era.. an incredible singles run, two 2x plat singles, one of which was only released in the UK but managed to be massive and well known in Asia and is one of the biggest girl group songs there, then Love Me Like You & Hair both missing the top 10 but both being over 800k (and Hair being their second most viewed MV?)

Whew, I know we all love Glory Days but Get Weird really started something so insanely good for them. It wasn’t just one good lead single.

I think it’s perfectly fair to say that we can’t be making up numbers.
I personally don’t think they’ve sold that much in the US. Maybe half that at a push

They’ve def sold that much in the US. the streams that album/singles have been gaining for like nearly 5 years (in fact over 5 years) build up. If Sweet Melody can do 100k in this amount of time w/how their popularity is there currently then there’s nothing too crazy about these estimates considering during the GW era they were still somewhat “known” in the US. There are so many songs that haven’t even touched any metric in the US from other artists and are certified gold due to the length of time.

Interesting that the sales compared to last week for Confetti are only down 300 sales (so the 15% off did it's job I think) but they had a biggish drop in chart position! Sales are starting to pick up again, but I can low-key see them climbing to about 12 again this week, but we'll see. *falls out of the top 20*
