The single is titled “Viva Las Vengeance”. And it sounds like they’re going back to more of a pop-rock sound from the preview on Instagram.

Hopefully they haven't left it too late... 4 years is a HUGE gap.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 30th May 2022, 08:21 PM

They've got a solid enough fanbase that I don't think the 4 years will make a difference in that respect. Possibly for mainstream success, but it doesn't really matter if 'High Hopes' was just a fluke anyway.

In other news, apparently, the touring band have writing credits for the first time on this single! I wonder if they'll end up being confirmed as "official" members of Panic?

so less than 24 hours for this, really excited!!!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 31st May 2022, 04:38 PM

I think we'll get the album announcement too.

Posted by: Razor 31st May 2022, 06:27 PM

Album announcement and tour probably.

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st June 2022, 12:49 PM

Looks like this will be out at 3pm UK time

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st June 2022, 04:20 PM

Album has the same name and will be out on August 19th

God this is absolutely fantastic! Such a catchy chorus, feels like a return to the 2010-ish sound of Panic but still sounds very fresh. I'm glad he didn't just opt for something similar to 'High Hopes'.

Album tracklisting:

1. Viva Las Vengeance
2. Middle of a Breakup
3. Don't Let the Light Go Out
4. Local God
5. Star Spangled Banner
6. God Killed Rock and Roll
7. Say It Louder
8. Sugar Soaker
9. Something About Maggie
10. Sad Clown
11. All by Yourself
12. Do It to Death

I like it. The start of the second verse I think is very early 70s glam rock sounding like Wizzard lol!

Not such a big fan of Brendon Urie doing his highest pitched vocal in the chorus.

God this is so good

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th July 2022, 04:17 PM

The second single is being teased... it‘s rumoured to be an All Time Low collab!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 19th July 2022, 04:57 PM

‘Middle of a Breakup’ is out tomorrow! Sadly not an ATL collab though

Posted by: lewistgreen 20th July 2022, 04:33 PM

And here it is!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 2nd August 2022, 07:27 PM

Pretty good! It’s a shame how low-key this era is though, there seems to be little to no marketing/promo for it - even though the arena tour next year is selling well.

‘Local God’ is out on Friday.

Not really into the new material tbh!

Posted by: ManicKangaroo 17th August 2022, 08:57 PM

Don't Let The Light Go Out was released yesterday

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th August 2022, 09:15 PM

Gorgeous wub.gif the title track is still by far my fave though

Posted by: Tafty³³³ 19th August 2022, 03:15 PM

Listening through now.

I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would based on the snippets. Hearing the snippets back to back made it seem like it was going to be grating, but I'm really liking the tracks individually. Especially liking 'Don't Let the Light Go Out' atm!

Kinda surprised theres not much chat about this album here sad.gif I think as a whole it's my least favourite of his "solo" albums but still a solid album, his vocals especially really shine here

Don't Let The Light Go Out is my favourite by far and could be up there with the best of Panic!'s (ask me again in a couple of months if I'm still so hyped by it laugh.gif) Really enjoyed this performance yesterday too

I've heard Don't Let The Light Go Out a few times before and I know it's been compared to Last Christmas by some people but it always reminded me more of the melody of Janis Ian's At Seventeen. Having just got the new Now album and flicking through the credits, I see Janis Ian is listed as a co-writer on this track, so that makes sense now laugh.gif

I'm surprised the song hasn't taken off more, has quite a classic feel to it.

Brandon has just announced the end of Panic! at the Disco

Posted by: Brer 24th January 2023, 06:27 PM

That moment when a band with only 1 member splits up.

(looks like he's just quitting music altogether in all seriousness. Although I'd bet it won't be forever)

Posted by: darrens94 24th January 2023, 06:31 PM

I can see him taking a break then coming back as just Brendon Urie at some point.

Posted by: T Boy 25th January 2023, 09:12 PM

An old friend of mine commented on an article about this by quoting ‘Thanks for the memories, even if they weren’t so sweet’ which is sending me because I swear that was Fall Out Boy.

Yep! laugh.gif

Lmao. Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy did share an affinity for pretentious long song titles for a while tbf so I can see why they'd be confused.
