It was Tracy.
The trailer is soooooo creepy!
Ooh, exciting! Now wait for people to rip the advert apart for clues!
I think Ronnie will come out of her coma on anniversary week, hopefully surviving! Also, looking forward to who else will be returning - I'm sure someone will remain unconfirmed until the episode is broad-casted.
Did Stephen King direct that trailer?
Incredible trailer! The hand prints on the steamed up window was very creepy!
The build up is just wonderful, i feel as excited about this live episode and reveal as i did for the who killed Archie live reveal.
Exciting
What sort of ratings are people expecting/hoping for? Looking back at the lead up to the 25th anniversary, episodes were averaging just under 11m whilst the live episode had over 16m, so assuming ratings this year will continue to average 8m, the live episode should get 12-13m which is pretty outstanding for TV ratings these days.
I think the whole week will rate quite well actually. Apparently there will be six episodes airing over the five days. I'm gonna say low 9m on Monday, high 8m on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12m for the live episode on Thursday and 10m for the flashback episode on Friday.
Here's the first episode of 'Back to Ours' with Shane & Jessie (Kat & Alfie) looking back at their storylines...
There was the first episode of a special series '30 Years of Cliffhangers' on earlier as well!
I watched both the iPlayer and BBC3 programmes. Both I enjoyed, particularly the 30 Years of Cliffhangers which made me feel all nostalgic about the years I've watched EE.
Here's the top 100 duff duffs from today's episode (so far):

100. Mick Carter
xx. Roly - highest scoring dog
I'm surprised Mick & Linda appeared in the top 100 so quickly (Linda less so, since she had loads during the rape storyline)!
Roly slaying.
Yeah I thought it was quite surprising too at first, but I suppose 2014 was rather Carter-dominant!
Next episode is Thursday 5th February rather than the Tuesday.
You can vote on the http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006m86d for Ian and Jane's wedding song. It's a choice of:
• The Power of Love - Jennifer Rush
• I Want to Know What Love Is - Foreigner
• You're the Inspiration - Chicago
• That Ole Devil Called Love - Alison Moyet
• There Must be an Angel (Playing with my heart) – Eurythmics
All were hits during 1985 - the year in which EastEnders started.
'That Ole Devil Called Love' has Ian written all over it.
All are pretty crap tbh.
Anniversary week will now start on Tuesday 17. Thanks football.
Ugh.
It kicks off on my birthday now though
Is that joke? I'm not being funny, but EE had a very rough 2014 due to being shafted around the schedules because of the football or suffering constant clashes with Emmerdale. For one week, the BBC and ITV can't give EE the plump slots in the schedules for its special week? It's ridiculous. The BBC treats EE appalling considering it's the most consistent performer for the channel.
Also, ITV will be airing a football match on Thursday and so people are speculating there will be an hour long episode of Emmerdale (6:45-7:45pm) which means a CLASH shock horror with EastEnders' live episode.
No way will they allow a clash with the live episode.
Ronnie and Roxy's look back episode is now available. I couldn't stop laughing at their commentary
Sam Womack and Rita Simons are brilliant. Whoever casted them (I think it was the current EP actually) did a brilliant job!
It's disappointing to see them falling behind Coronation Street on the ratings again seeing how the latter has just been horrendous.
My sister's working on this as part of her apprenticeship with the BBC, her behind the scenes knowledge (though no one knows who killed Lucy obvs) has kinda got me interested in it again. I used to watch this so much back in 2006-8, but since then, I've never bothered apart from the Christmas specials.
The trailer legit creeped me out, EE hasn't done that in so long

Here is that pic!:
I'm getting extremely excited for Live Week now! It'll be my half term holiday and my dad will be working nights all that week so no moaning or interruptions!
So the live episode is actually on Friday? Since when? And 90 minutes of EE in one night!
Why are Pam and Les suspects?
During the 30th Anniversary Week, BBC Three will be showing classic episodes each day!
Monday 8-8:30pm (Remember there's no episode BBC One, so this instead)
Tuesday 7-7:30pm
Wednesday 7-8pm
Thursday 8:30pm-9pm
I hope they show the first ever episode and Archie & Peggy's wedding/Danielle's death. I'm not sure which other episodes are iconic? Maybe Christmas Day divorce papers, Sharongate or Who Shot Phil?
I'm sure they will show divorce papers and Sharongate. I think who shot Phil? might have been a longer episode, from memory? They should show the episode where Peggy goes to Spain and finds out Frank faked his death and Sam 2.0 is working a pole.
I was going to suggest they'd show an episode from each decade but I don't think there's really anything that iconic from the 2010s. Perhaps the 25th anniversary live episode?
I think showing the first episode is inevitable and the suggestions of the Christmas Day divorce papers, Sharongate and Who Shot Phil? are all really good shouts and probably most likely. If not, the aftermath of Kat revealing she's Zoe's mum could be and there's plenty of great episodes from when Diederick Santer was in charge (2007-10).
EastEnders: The Greatest Cliffhangers episode two aired today and here is the next part of the countdown which featured:

Monday 16th February will see the first ever Eastenders episode aired on the BBC Red Button: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a627058/first-ever-eastenders-episode-to-be-repeated-for-30th-anniversary.html#~p3sM7nhTlD6usG
I watched The Greatest Cliffhangers (as well as the main show, the first time since Lucy's death) last night and it brought back so many memories! I remember the programme from the 25th and they've clearly reused a lot of footage from the original screening but it was nice to see a couple of newer characters too. I'm gonna take a guess at the top 20 (in alphabetical order as the top two will very likely be the same as last time):
Abi Branning
Alfie Moon
Bianca Jackson
Billy Mitchell
Den Watts
Dot Branning
Grant Mitchell
Ian Beale
Jean Slater (possibly not but I assume she would be top 100!)
Kat Moon
Kathy Mitchell
Max Branning
Pat Evans
Peggy Mitchell
Peter Beale (same as Jean)
Phil Mitchell
Ronnie Mitchell
Sharon Mitchell
Stacey Branning
And I can't think of a 20th other than Mo Harris and I doubt she's even had one
EDIT: JANINE BUTCHE!!!
Also back during the anniversary/flashback is Rainie!
The final top 20 of the 30 Years of Cliffhangers is starting right now on BBC Three.
Here's the top 20 for anyone who didn't watch tonight's episode.
01. Phil Mitchell
02. Ian Beale
03. Sharon Watts
04. Grant Mitchell
05. Pat Butcher
06. Pauline Fowler
07. Dot Branning
08. Michelle Fowler
09. Kat Moon
10. Mark Fowler
11. Alfie Moon
12. Den Watts
13. Kathy Beale
14. Peggy Mitchell
15. Max Branning
16. Bianca Jackson
17. Billy Mitchell
18. Janine Butcher
19. Stacey Branning
20. Ronnie Mitchell
Watched this tonight and the Ian segment where he took Peter out of the pub and told him Lucy had died, that still gives me goosebumps.
I guessed that top 5, in order as well
Can the killer still be Ronnie?
Then I will stick with the multiple 4 person series of events killer theoryyy
Really excited for next week!
I think two people are involved. One person killed Lucy, by mistake/intention, then someone has helped cover it up by moving her body to the common.
I think it could be Cindy, if it turns out to be Abi I'll be annoyed unless there's a good reason behind it in the reveal but I hope we're not disappointed!
Also, I can't help but feel Nick's exit felt a bit rushed (even though an interview said it would be fairly low key) amid all the innuendo of Thursday's episode, will be interesting to see how that story continues.
He's STILL alive!
There's so many references to EE history in today's episode. Nick lying in the position Reg Cox died, Dot asking for Dr Legg (Walford's original GP) and Nick grabbing Dot's leg in the same way Dirty Den grabbed Chrissie's foot just before he died.
I think tonight's episode confirms it's Lauren knows what happened between Max/Abi and Lucy but not necessarily that they were the killer. I think she left Peter and feels uneasy about going to the Beale house because she believes either Max or Abi killed Lucy and therefore feels guilty herself, and that's also why she kept back the yellow piece of paper with the number on it.
Only 6 days to go, I still have my suspicions on Peter, its just niggling at me for some reason, but the way Lauren looked at Jane in tonight's episode makes me think its Jane now.
There was basciallt something that made me suspect everyone could be the killer Lauren was quite uneasy when Denise came in for example. But I think I'd be surprised now if it wasn't a Branming or Beale - obviously the former is Lauren's own family and she's engaged to be married into the Beales so they're both close to her and she's going to be a bit apprehensive about reporting it. I think if it was say Denise she'd just call the police really?
Denise>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jane
It's being played out wonderfully. I still can't fathom who the killer is. I'm thinking Peter or Jane but that's all hunches.
Another 10/10 trailer
I'll be shocked if it isn't Jane or Peter tbh, I'm leaning towards Peter because he's leaving so it's the perfect way to write him out of the show
Mick Carter now joint second favourite
https://uk.beamly.com/feeds/eastenders/701b2bc3-05c7-11e3-ce1a-ed25be5684de
I 100% believe it's Jane now.
I don't even watch the show and I know the killer is Jane.
Did none of you read the news story? Where a customer was spread betting on Jane throughout London? People only do this unless they have good info.
R.I.P Nasty Nick Cotton
I don't think it will be Jane, but I imagine she'll be involved in the cover up. I think the actual killer will be Peter, Cindy or Denise.
Can't see it being Denise. She's never fit well as a suspect. She wanted to leave Ian the day Lucy died. Why would she have killed Lucy, knowing that she'd feel like she had to stay with him in the aftermath?
Why do people think it would be Jane I mean what reason would she have ? My money is on either Peter Abi or Cindy. But if it was Peter or Cindy I wouldn't be suprised if Jane knew about it and helped with the cover up.
Jane deciding to marry Ian so quickly makes her look a bit guilty tbh. She's also made up an alibi for Lauren and hid Lucy's phone. She may not have meant to kill Lucy but it doesn't mean she didn't.
It's the way that she hide Lucy's phone tbh.
I've got my final theory now. The classic EE whodunnit killer is usually someone with a clear motive, but not one of the most obvious people. The suspects with a clear motive would be:
Peter - obviously after what he heard
Ian - at a stretch because of what Lucy said to him, but I don't think that's clear enough
Cindy - jealousy of not being the loved golden child and outcast of not being a 'real Beale'
Whitney - Lucy bullied her and obviously slept with Lee despite Whitney being after him
Abi - angry over Lucy having an affair with Max
Max - jealous and angry over her ditching him for Lee
I don't think anyone else has a strong enough grievance. Secondly, discounting the obvious suspects would leave cut out Abi and Max. Thirdly, if EE wanted the killer to not being included very much to keep them out of our minds to forget them as a suspect, that would leave Cindy and Whitney who have barely appeared since New Year's Day.
Finally it would need to be someone to provide a big enough impact and a good enough actor to carry off the reveal. Both Cindy and Whitney's actresses are quite strong so it probably comes down to impact. Whitney would affect multiple families, but once she's gone and caught I don't think it would have a lasting impact. Whereas, Cindy is related to the Beales and now has a daughter to continue her link. It would have greater lasting impact if it were someone from within the family. Also, the chewing up on the cup suggests someone less mature and that could be Cindy. I think Jane will have covered for her due to her being pregnant and possibly Denise also helped if she heard an argument downstairs. I thought maybe the picture that Emma was looking at was maybe Jane's missing car?
So that's why I believe it will mostly like be Cindy, but Whitney is still also a good shout.
I agree - Whitney and Cindy are my 2 top picks, although I had a dream that it was Denise
It HAS to be someone she knows - I doubt it's Peter as now Stace thinks it's him and Lauren doesn't seem scared of him anyway.
The way she looked at Jane though omg!!!!
I think Jane is behind the cover-up and took her car away the next day to clean it.
It's NOT going to be someone unconnected and random like Mick Carter or Phil Mitchell though. It's never Phil Mitchell - who's betting on him?
But what aboot that betting person from back in October who cut the odds of Jane down to like 2/1?
And the spoiler pics are making me think.
Howeverrrr if the killer IS Jane, after the betting thing and the finger being pointed her way by Lauren's look, then it would be expected and disappointing. So for thatttt I think she was one of a group of people and the real killer is Cindy perhaps. Let's face it - why else would she end the engagement unless the murderer was SOMEONE IN HER FAMILY OR HIS??
I think Whitney would be the best bet buuut maybe it's like a Dirty Den thing and Cindy AND Whitney teamed up or something.
I like the idea of the death being similar to Emma's though and it was accidental - following the bang on her head from Max, someone knocked her again and it caused it. That would open the playing field as right now there isn't really any motives, so maybe it was an accident and maybe that's why people helped with the cover-up if that's how Jane is involved.
Annnd that would make it possible for chars like Cindy orrr Bobby to do her in.
What chewed-up cup?
When the 'killer' met Emma, their plastic tea cup was chewed up which means it was either someone really nervous or a younger person.
Oooh didn't see that.
So either it's someone close to Emma orrr someone young for her not to go to the polcie straight away.
It's not Max as she told Max the killer wasn't Lo-Lauren in the car before she died, meaning it probably wasn't Abbey either.
Now I can't pick between Peter, Cindy, Whitney and Jane
I can't choose between Denise, Jane, Whitney and Cindy!
Would be so disappointed if it actually is Jane though, be a big 'eh we knew it' moment.
Eastenders are going to recreate the first ever scene on Thursday when Nick's body is discovered: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a628952/eastenders-to-recreate-first-ever-scene-on-30th-anniversary.html#~p4m5AfaG3to3LJ
That is such a great tribute!
Aren't the BBC going to show the first ever episode on the Red Button on Friday?
30 years of Eastenders can't believe it, and only 2 characters left from the very first episode... Dot and Ian. Its going to be a great week, can't wait for the reveal on Thursday, 3 episodes. I should imagine the extra episode was a late move, as football is transmitted tomorrow night.
Sharon was in the first episode too
Ian and Sharon appeared in the first episode, Dot joined in July and Martin was born in that same month. If you include Nick Cotton's corpse appearance, that's five 1985 characters, but only two (three) from the first episode.
Oops I forgot about Tracey. She has appeared since the first episode too!
Maybe after 30 years, Tracey will get moved up to main cast?
I hope they give her a speaking part, or at least an appearance! I'll be so angry if they don't!
I'd love it if Lauren was wrong about the killer and Tracey actually uncovered it
They asked Tracy numerous times to be a regular, but She's turned them down each and every time.
Emmerdale's exc. producer Kate Oates has said that the Eastenders clashes aren't down to her and that she disagrees with the amount of clashes too:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s12/emmerdale/news/a629079/emmerdale-producer-kate-oates-eastenders-clashes-not-our-choice.html#~p4plBjDhyGzLii
I'll never understand why the clashes happen when they usually can avoided but it's nice to know the show's producer feels the same.
It will be the ITV controller who ultimately decides the schedule.
The first ever episode and the Good Friday episode have both been uploaded to BBC iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/group/p02g29p6
Also on there is 'the story so far' of the Who Killed Lucy storyline.
^I shall be checking them out!
On 26th February, Sharon will meet her half-brother Kristopher Hanley, played by Jonathan Broadbent.
Bobby Beale is the favourite now for who killed Lucy
http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/g/3773045/Who-Killed-Lucy-Beale%3f.html
I still think Jessica Fletcher had a hand in all of this...
What about that Gary Lucy guy? As he;s coming back for the final
According to the EE website, there's meant to be a "familiar face" returning on Wednesday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b053j3wf
It doesn't seem like they're talking about Christian and Tanya and it can't be about Peggy or Martin either as they return on the Tuesday, so perhaps we're in for a surprise?
Speaking about the mystery's conclusion, he laughed: "I can't tell anyone at the moment! We've narrowed it down a bit to about 11 people, but it still could be anyone.
"We've been very firm from the beginning that there are twists and turns all the way through this story. So the betting's still on - it could still be literally anyone."
So basically this list of suspects could end up being a load of shit just plucked out of thin air for a bit of promo.
The suspects list is the person who met Emma. One of them could be covering for someone not on the list.
But who else could it be if not someone on the suspect list? I kind of think what DTC said is just to put a final chance to make us all change our minds as to who the killer is.
Like Bobby Beale for example. I BET she met Jane - 'but murder?' Was when Jane was saying she had to cover for whoever it was.
Which place has best odds for Whitney Denise and Cindy btw?? And should I do it online or in a shop for best deal?
This is already so disjointed.
One minute it's at night the next minute it's early morning.
Cindy using Lucy's music box!
Martin is hawt.
OMG.
OH :/
WHAT IS THAT ACTUALLY IT
I'm 100% positive that Abi never murdered Lucy now.
The killer wasn't due to be announced until Thursday.
Obviously Abi didn't kill her if they've had Max say that this early on.
I think he said "she knows who's killed Lucy" rather than "she knows you've killed Lucy".
No haha we find out on Thursday!! Maybe Max just came to that conclusion. Ew Abi
Would be funny if Jake/Max fluffed up "WHO killed Lucy" as "YOU killed Lucy" though.
It wont be Abi, it's only Tuesday
Oh...
I love the reference to Pauline with the glass bowl
And Mick used Peggy's catchphrase "Get out of my pub"
Ronnie hearing about Charlie & Roxy though <3
Thought Roxy would have got pregnant and this would have dragged on tbh.
Omg Jade that's what I thought happened
I do reckon Max just assumes the only way that Lauren would be so distraught is if a member of her family killed Lucy? But it's actuallt not necessarily Abi. Two people are deffo involved if she was killed at home, I reckon it was Cindy accidentally and then Jane helped cover it up. That's my final prediction. I'll be dumbstruck is Jane isn't involved!
Was that Mick Carter or was that Danny Dyer talking to Peggy...
It's gotta be Cindy
Cindy eyed up the music box with the drugs in whilst Lucy still alive, yah??
Then Lucy came back, they had a barney, Lucy got bonked over the head by accident fighting for the drugs. With the annuerism from Max's blow earlier too, she drops. Jane helps a panicked Lucy. BOBBY witnesses it all hence why she takes him out, not whack style car style, for a while.
Yeah I'm thinking Cindy / Bobby and Jane helped cover it up.
I'm going to put my final bet on Cindy.
She was horrified when the music box turned up under the Christmas tree (and she would be, knowing she used it to kill Lucy), then tonight she was randomly carrying it around the living room, and then there's the clue we got at the NTAs that it was the last thing Lucy heard. So they've obviously had an argument, Cindy's whacked her over the head with that while it was playing, Jane's walked in on it and helped Cindy cover it all up.
Agreed.
I've been saying it for ages the Cindy (or Whitney)
Final prediction Buzzjack: #Cindy
Yeah I originally thought it was Abi but I'm going for Cindy now .
LMAO Bobby at 11/4 odds on Bet365!
Also Jane hid the phone under the floorboards, If I remember rightly Cindy was the last number dialled on that phone, now I'm beginning to think Cindy as well.
I reckon the "familiar face" that angers a character with their return tomorrow will be Jane's mum; she's been referenced to enough times.
If it actually was Bobby....
Putting a fiver on Cindy tbh while her odds are 14/1 on William Hill!!
Think her odds will drop?? I'll put a 5 on now too if they'll drop
They'll shorten that's why I'm getting in now!
Ok! I'm gonna put a 5 on her too then now.
Might put a fiver on Bobby too as that's likely... In fat I'm thinking maybe it's more likelt if Jane has covered it up that it's Bobby. Either way I think Jane would care more about covering for Cindy/Bobby than she would for Ian knowing the truth, but Bobby is pretty much a son to her as obviously Laura died when Bobby was young and Jane came 2/3 years later.
I still think Cindy though, I don't see what Bobby would argue with her over. Cindy could have found her cocaine maybe and confronted her, maybe Lucy said something about Cindy being a $l*t for ending up as a teen mum and Cindy snapped in the moment and applied too much force and Jane came back at that moment and she panicked and helped to cover it as a murder.
I don't think its Bobby as if I'm sticking with Cindy and Jane helped to cover up by moving the body.
Some people are suggesting Bobby may have been looking through the music box to see what was in it, Lucy walked in on him and tried to grab it off him, he pushed her, and she banged her head off a chest of drawers. Plausible theory, but it would be such an anti-climax if it were Bobby.
Remember how dramatic the Stacey/ Bradley reveal was - it's basically gonna have to match that.
Today's episode was amazing. I'm so hungry to find out what's gonna happen next!
I've completely got no idea who Richard Blackwood's character is going to be. I did not expect him to be with the Mitchells/Ronnie.
Abi is definitely not the killer. Either they fluffed the lines or Max and Abi think Abi killed her, when it was in fact a Beale.
I've thought for a few weeks the Jane was indirectly involved (since she hid the phone under the floorboards), but wasn't sure if she was covering for Peter or Cindy. I agree with everyone else now that I think it's going to be Cindy - but maybe that's now becoming too obvious?
But Jane wouldn't cover for anyone but Cindy, Peter or Bobby surely?
Only Ian I guess!
Must be easier somehow to do the live eps at night than day?
Did y'all see the shots of London in the background?? Really made it seem more like the city and less like a random town.
Put a bet on Cindy.
Watch it be Denise
It HAS to be someone in the Beale household. Jane would easily cover up for best friend Denise no?
Oh yah P
BBC One's Twitter seems to confirm it was meant to be 'You Killed Lucy'
https://twitter.com/BBCOne/status/567775877480841216
Very interesting but I'm guessing it's more the end result of the build up to them trying to suggest Abi is the killer. I think Abi might have met up with Lucy on the night, which Max saw and therefore thinks she killed her but obviously she didn't.
I still think Denise is involved somehow. Maybe Denise and Jane covering up for Cindy. We know Denise was in bed or at least preparing to go to bed and the spoiler pics show Lucy returned home (as confirmed by Lauren's card). Cindy might have had a bitchfight with Lucy over the music box or revealing her drug habit and accidentally knocked her out. Denise heard what happened and obviously with Cindy being pregnant, she decided to help cover up what happened.
She then went to Jane for help and the three of them went to Walford Common to dump the body. Hence, Emma's comment that 'it wasn't there' - she was referring to Jane's car being missing from its usual place in the video of Lauren. Therefore Emma met Jane and Jane explained everything that happened, hence I can't keep 'the' secret rather than your secret.
Detective April has solved the case
I've not been watching it properly over the last year, just keeping an eye on things. I watched the Good Friday episode and today's episode tonight and that does sound very plausible!
Might be why Denise said she'd do it for Jane as well when they were in the MinuteMart in tonights episode.
gREAT THEORY aPRIL!!
i also think it was CIndy buut Denise and Jane have to be involved somehow.
That sounds plausible April It would fit in, as I expect Denise does care about the kids as she's been a mother figure to them whilst she was with Ian and just because she didn't love him doesn't mean she won't still feel a connection with Bobby and even Cindy.
I am like 80% certain Cindy was the "actual" killer" and either/both of Denise/Jane helped her. There's no way a 15 year old could move an adult's body by themselves so one of them had to have helped.
If you go with the Denise and Jane both helped to cover up theory, it could also still be Bobby as both of them probably love him the most.
When Denise met Libby in the Good Friday episode, she only really mentioned how great Bobby was out of the children.
Richard Blackwoods character is maybe either
1. Someone Ronnie was dating whilst in Portugal with Peggy and Grant
2. The club owner or something from Ibiza?
Richard Blackwood's character is called Vincent btw - saw it mentioned on a Digital Spy article.
I almost forgot to mention...Stacey and Martin are SO gonna get together! It's so obvious! I actually think they would be really good together.
Sorry to bring someone else up, but DS are speculating that Kathy Beale is what Phil needs to talk to Ian about!
Surely EE wouldn't be that daring to bring her back from the dead? Although I would absolutely love Kathy back!
I love that Babs didn't go all pantomime this time and her scene with Mick was more understated than I thought it would be. Although there appeared to be no reason at all for Peggy to be there.
I loved the duff duff because it basically proved that Abi didn't do it.
Wait so was Peggy Mitchell only appearing in last night's episode?
People are saying her death could be a witness protection thing, which I guess it could but how awful for poor Ben for him to think his mother has died but she actually hasn't and it was a fake or false death
Ahhh a witness protection thing v MM??
BUUT THEn why would she come to yje Square where he be!!
I know it was just a spin-off but DTC has already established Kathy is dead in the Children in Need 2014 clip with Ian being visited from ghosts of his past. Plus surely Kathy being revealed alive would overshadow the lead up of Lucy's killer being revealed and also why would Ian go ahead with the wedding if he realised his mum wasn't dead?
That wasn't canon and they've freely said before it was the biggest EE msitake EVER - we were all like whaaaat?? when they said it at the time aboot Kathy so I agree. They've said they're looking for ways around it and for the 30th Anniversary they're 'only just getting started'. It won't overshadow Lucy - we've been waiting 9 months - and a lo don't care aboot Kathy.
I think creating Abi was the biggest EE mistake ever tbh
The Children In Need sketch was a dream sequence of Ian's - he still believes his mum to be dead, so I wouldn't think anything of that.
I'm still very doubtful that Kathy could be alive. Even if it was a witness protection thing, would it really last 9 years? Plus I'm sure it's a choice to be placed into witness protection and I doubt Kathy would want to be separated from her children, especially not Ben who was only about 10 at the time.
Tanya mucking up her line OMG!
"How's Adam?" - using his real name
OMG Tanya messes up in her first scene!
The Power Of Love won the wedding poll <3
Was Jane meant to say something after Ian said she looked beautiful?
Defintiely 100% seems that Jane is covering up for someone (either Cindy, Peter or Bobby).
Hopefully Bobby there is a red herring thing like Abi's What an anticlimax if it was Bobby. Would they pin a huge storyline like this, possibly one of the biggest ever, on a new 12 year old actor?
omg if this is Bobby!!
f***.... it can't be Ian surely... I'm still confused.
Did Jane make a mistake during the vows? It felt very awkward during that part. And lol at Tanya with "how's Adam?" and the look of fear on her face after she said it!
Just rewinding a bit, how does Lauren know she was killed in the house?
Guilty looks mean nothing - don't the actors find out half an hour beforehand if they killed Lucy?
Also it doesn't mean it's a Beale just because she was killed at home. Anyone with a grievance called have called in, maybe caught her using cocaine or hiding it, argued and killed her accidentally.
I still think Cindy with Jane helping her move the body though. Could be Bobby but I'm not sure they'd actually do that!
The killer surely must be from the Beale family after tonight ? I would be surprised if it was anyone else my prediction is Cindy and Jane is covering for her.
Its got to be within the Beale family, still sticking with Cindy and Jane theory. I even noticed at the Wedding Jane looked at Denise. Denise could have had a part in it as well.
Lorna actually really surprised me when you consider all her scenes were live she totally delivered.
I've seen LOADS of online praise for Lorna and I have to agree she's been excellent this week Never EVER thought I'd say that!
Oh my god @ this though!!
Amazing episode but Abi absolutely slayed it. She was incredible.
As a character, Abi is awful, but I do have to agree that Lorna was pretty good...
All of Abi's scenes have been live today! She has done an amazing job.
I think there might have been a second mistake when Ian told Jane she looked beautiful. There was an awkward pause - so either she was meant to say something or the camera didn't cut off them fast enough?
I'm sticking with my theory from yesterday of Cindy being the killer with Jane and Denise covering up for her.
This anniversary has meant i have got back into EE. I was a huge fanatic a few years ago, and it's good to see so many classic characters still about/returning. Will hopefully be sticking with it for the long run again now
One of my favourite parts from that episode was Jo Joyner's face once she realised her mistake both Jo and Laurie's recoveries were very professional though, good thing it was at the end of the scene, if it had been near the beginning it could have put them off
I can't stop watching these vines of Tanya's mistake! Seeing Laurie and Jo's faces go bright red is just hilarious. :')
Poor Jo! They covered it up well though other than their facial expressions.
Poor Jo is getting destroyed on twitter
Tanya's mistake Wish she would come back permanently, one of my favourite ever characters
Abi slayed tonight
I wish she'd come back too. Seeing her again tonight made me realise how much I missed her being in it!
no. tanya was an absolute horrid character. let her stay gone.
Tanya was one of those characters I liked and then I didn't and then I liked again, I think it depended on her story lines tbh, I'd like to see her back in EastEnders but maybe in a different way from before, like her not being associated with Max at all except when she's spending time with Abi and Lauren - their on and off relationship got really boring - she's been away for a while, if she came back they'd need to make sure she brought something new to the table, her friendship with Jane was something I really liked so maybe they could do something with that (if Jane doesn't end up guilty of and arrested for Lucy's murder! )
Oh yeah, she went through bad points (more to the blame of the producer and storylines) but when she was good, she was great.
Tanya should wait until Max is married to someone else before coming back or else she'll just be swept into the gravity of his storyleens.
I've always leeked Aby - she's hilario-u-s and acted really well these lives!!
Tanya's great and Abi was VERY good tonight
Jo's "How's Adam?"/reaction, omg! Bless her, slipping up is all part of the fun with a live show. Laurie's awkward reaction of not answering too, amazing.
Incredibly excited for the next episode. Still not at all confident when it comes to whodunnit, but I suppose I'm leaning towards Cindy.
Oh and I have to agree, Lorna has really shown herself to be a more than capable actress during her live scenes!
So excited for tonight <3 Really hoping its Cindy or Denise, got money on both I'd slightly rather it was Cindy as I've got £5 on her but only £3 on Denise. I'm really leaning towards Cindy with Jane covering for her but I've got that dark horse feeling it could be Denise. I know that Lucy's death meant that Denise felt guilt tripped into staying with Ian, but that doesn't mean she didn't accidentally kill Lucy in the heat of the moment. I don't think whoever did it meant to because nobody really has a strong enough motive - Cindy/Peter being jealous for example is enough for them to argue with Lucy but not for them to murder her.
Loads of people seem to think it's Bobby moreso now because Jane is planning to flee with him but I think it might just be because of her bond with Bobby - he was staying with her rather than Ian before after all. She's like a mother to him because Laura died when he was so young. It'd look a bit suspect if she took Cindy for example (although I guess it does anyway).
Mimi and especially Diane are brilliant actresses who haven't had a lot to do recently so either of them being the culprit would be brilliant anyway
I would like to see Jo make a full time return, always liked her style. Denise i have overlooked for the murder but i am starting to doubt that now, it would also add up and be a fair outcome.
Neighbours have made a spoof in celebration for EE's 30th anniversary:
It's quite sweet, if you excuse the Aussie humour!
^^ Ha Ha
Paul acting like a Mitchell, and the bar lady pretending to be Peggy "Get Out Of My Pub"
Actually Neighbours celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year. And there is speculation Jason & Donovan and Kylie Minogue returning for its 30th Anniversary episode, as Scott and Charlene apparently their son Daniel is currently in Neighbours, so I imagine their daughter Maddie will be joining if the rumours are true.
Which scenes are the live ones in these episodes of Eastenders?
I always knew Lorna Fitzgerald had it in her and I'm glad to finally be proved right. Now, let's give Abi some actually good storylines to shine in.
If Lucy was killed at home, Denise is very much still in the frame as she was living there at the time.
It would be very Eastenders if Denise was revealed as the killer moments after the happiness of Kim giving birth.
There are some new odds on William Hill now for tonight's episode:
http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/g/5308576/Thursday-Live-Show-Specials.html
EE do love their miserableness dont they?
Can Mary Smith pls make a return.
30 years ago this week when EE started, I hope I got the right chart.
The top 100 singles chart look like this
http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart/19860216/7501
Just like Lex I'm starting to have the dark horse feeling that it was Denise ...
This has just come up on my betting slip:
Cindy Beale (Williams) @ 14/1 Dead Heat Rules Apply
It seems they think there's gonna be more than 1...
Whitney has odds of 40/1 and 50/1 in some places!!
Is dead heat rules where you can't tell the winner (in the case of a horse race for example), so it would be where two killed her and obviously you wouldn't be able to say one.
Surely they'd be really picky and say it's not a dead heat if say you bet on Cindy and Jane and Cindy did it but Jane helped her move the body? I can't how two people can kill her unless it wasn't an accident and they like beat her to death but we kind of know that didn't happen, she died from a head injury which was probably because she was hit by the music box.
Denise really seems to be in many peoples minds that she killed Lucy. I am unsure whether id be happy or not if it is. The camera moves in the Vic were key last night and both Whitney and Denise were certainly included. I am certain its not one of the Beales, that was a red herring, anyone could have visited the house that night and killed her. I believe tonight will have a double outcome, one of the Beales will have found her will be revealed and we will have a minute of thinking it was one of them and then the real killer will be revealed.
I am so excited for the reveal, i know i was super excited for who killed archie reveal but who killed Lucy has more twists and the live element all week has really added more excitement. I am loving EastEnders at the moment, what a turn around in the space of a year. The downside of live week means we will have a few dull weeks coming up but i can live with that based on the high quality of drama we have been treated to all week.
Denise or Whitney are the 2 i am edging for as Lucys killer.
I'm worried that they will apply those rules in the event of a cover-up!
Now that everyone (and the odds) have caught up with our Buzzjack reasoning about the cover-up etc, the dead heat rules have appeared.
I feel like Whitney has been too quiet this week and it would make sense if she killed her but it no doubt would have been by accident.
I still think It's Cindy / Bobby as Jane obviously has something to do with it.
Bobby is still currently the favourite with William Hill. What a huge push for a character like Bobby or even Cindy if it turns out to be them!
I'm really tempted to put £5 on hitney a the return is huge - 255 - and she's been really quiet.
Buuut why would Jane cover for Whitney? Unless Whitney is blackmailing her over Bobby or something?
But then all she'd have to do is call the police, threat neutralised so...
I think they'll fake reveal someone - possibly Cindy in the first episode. And then flashback will show it's someone else - possibly Whitney or Denise.
WHITNEY'S ODDS ARE NOW 66/1
I am out in the night so they had BETTER keep the big reveal for the first episode
Wait 2 episodes tonight??
Not long to go now
Interesting that all of the music played in the cafe/Vic seems to be from 1985! Nice touch.
Trust you to notice that!
(Although I'm sure they were playing Rick Astley earlier no?)
Yeah Never Gonna Give You Up was in the cafe - 1987 Although all the Vic's music is 1985 I think.
Kathy *.* x 10000000
I LITERALLY JUST SCREAMED OH MY GOD WAT
Kathy
OMG
(still another killer twist to come)
I was right
I still think she's covering for the real killer somehow. suspic:
Well wasn't I wrong about Kathy not returning! Thrilled she is, that's surely got to be a ratings booster for a good chunk of the year!!
And Jane!
Killer twist!!
Someone else HAS to be involved.
I guess we'll find out in the flashback episode?
Love the music from 1985 Tears For Fears, Aha, and a few others.
Phew!!!... that was a cracker of a episode, and if I remember rightly, Mark was the first person to enter Reg's flat in the opening episode, Martin just took his brother's place.
Jane, I really thought it was Cindy.
Kathy coming back is fantastic.
Maybe original Cindy will show up since she's in the Caribbean right now
I guessed the killer months ago but was thrown off course by last night's episode!
I kinda suspected it, could she have been acting more guilty through the week? I sense that's not the whole story though.
Gah, I just want the next one now, turned into such an EE fanboy again this week
Kat drunk was giving me life. Tina, Sonia and Denises faces when Kim was giving birth! And YES at Kathy returning
Also, is this actually the end for Dot?
I was kinda waiting for Kathy to show up when Phil was waiting where he was, so wasn't shocked by it, but so good to have her back!
oh and Kathy
I want her to come back full time
The gift for a 30th (wedding) anniversary is pearl - Kim's baby. Nice touch!
Kathy or Grant was who I suspected.
Jane was my original prediction but I had really been leaning towards Cindy the last couple of weeks so I am surprised
People on DS are saying Jane was the last Red Herring and the exactly killer will be revealed at 9.25.
I thought Jane about a month or two ago... But I stopped thinking she actually did it and I thought she covered it up
Still expecting another twist - they were deliberately a bit ambiguous to keep people watching the live ep as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kathy came back properly Her leaving Hollyoaks seemed like completely the wrong thing (one of her sons was struggling with an eating disorder, another was in the frame for a murder of someone who isn't even dead) so I think she took the better offer.
Hmmm I thiink that it's still Cindy - look at her reaction, getting crazy and Jane calming her down. We all KNEW Jane would be acting a large part if Bobby was the killer or Cindy as they're yet unproven.
It's either Bobby or Cindy
Still think Jane is covering, will find out later!
Jane is a disappointing reveal tbh, I still think she's covering up also. Why on earth would she have even been there if she wasn't called in for Cindy/Bobby in a state of panic etc
The BBC website has confirmed that Kathy is returning to the square later in the year!
Yeah I think Jane is covering for Cindy
Jane is too obvious and disappointing.
The guy who put all those bets on her, well woman, in October basically ruined the story and leaked the plot and was an insider if it's Jane. The pictures from the wedding on digitalspy would've ruined the story if it was Jane ... I just don't think it was/
Unless theyw ere hiding her in plain sight, then it was a cover-up and she's still covering up for Cindy!
I think Jane actually did it but there must be more to it than that - someone else may have given her a reason to have killed Lucy?
Im expecting a twist that its either cindy or bobby, jane is disappointing. It was a good episode but not as good as the night before. Kathy back is great
Kathy will be back permanently I reckon. She probably only joined Hollyoaks for job stability believing there was no chance of an EE return.
I agree with the majority and that I think there's still someone else involved, I still really think Cindy is involved somehow - especially with that jewellery box clue.
We know Peter is leaving, maybe its Peter in the end, he was a bit jealous that Lucy was Ian's favourite out of the twins.
And her reaction with ripping up the card.
Can't wait to see Kathy back full time, on the proviso that she returns to work at the caff of course.
Do we know anything at all about who the father of Kim's baby is?
Denise referred to him as Vincent tonight and that was the name DS referred to Richard Blackwood's character as in a recent article. He also was very interested in Kim being taken away in an ambulance.
Yeah I'm very much thinking that Richard Blackwood's character is the dad! Wiki says that Vincent Hubbard is Kim's husband too. I had the theory as soon as I saw him looking at the ambulance actually.
It was mentioned that he was connected to a number of families too so that's already the Mitchells and the Foxs.
I'm glad it looks as though Kim will be given a serious storyline.
Feel terrible for Denise but Kim's anger is entirely understandable.
Love that Bobby has swapped heads whilst his sister gets murdered.
Bobby
KNEW IT! YASSSSSSSS
Errr...
LOL I think I may have joked that Bobby did it 10 months ago.
WHAT.
Bobby
Wtf. Sorry but what a waste of all that hype BOBBY f***ING BEALE
I knew it!!! Was hoping it would have been Denise though. She was totally giving me 'You need slappin dahhhn' vibes
OMG... so shocked
Feel really cheated. It could have been Denise accidentally after that fight they had, it could have been Ben or Jay after what happened, it could have been Abi, but oh no, Bobby was a more suitable option.
That really is so disappointing. All the clues and drama from the past 10 months just feel wasted. Can this just be a dream please?
I actually laughed out loud.
The next question, what Bobby Beale was it? The blonde mute, the small eye'd mullet, or the bucktoothed bowl cut? That is the question
I don't think it was disappointing at all actually! Ian's own SON did it, someone he'd never expect and it's bound to send shockwaves through the family. I think it could really develop in an interesting way!
So Jane moved the body to the woods, took Bobby and went back up North after that.
Richard Blackwood's character goes back to that episode, so something is going to come out of that.
LOL I srsly didn't think it would actually be the kid that did it WHAT that's ridiculous even for Eastenders! It's like Maggie Simpson shooting Mr Burns Was near certain in the last moments when it was obvious it wasn't Jane, it would be Cindy.
I don't remember a time I was SO fixated on the TV lol
I knew as soon as Lucy mentioned a mother's love.
A mother's love made Jane cover up for Bobby!
I find it quite funny that scenes before and shortly after Lucy's death show Bobby looking completely different to what he looks like in the flashback. It does explain some things:
Why Jane was quick to remove Bobby for several months.
Possibly why Jane was willing to become Ian's wife again-guilt that her family fell apart without her.
Why Emma insisted it was STILL murder.
It does not explain the following:
How Emma worked out how it happened.
Also I do not believe Emma would have been phoning Bobby about her suspicions-she must have initially thought it was Jane and accused her then met with her to discover it was actually Bobby.
Watch Jane take the blame for the next 10 months before everyone finally finds out it was Bobby.
Live stream if anyone is interested
http://iframe.ggwebcast.com/bbc/eastenders01/02/
I like to know how things are going to unfold after that and where its heading.
I know it's more impactful to be a member of his own family, but it just feels like a total colossal let down that there's been 10 months of twists and turns, all those people who had grievances with Lucy but it just ends up being that Bobby was a bit of a little shit.
I had a gut feeling it could be Bobby when it was said that the culprit "wasn't necessarily" on the suspect list but I still really thought Cindy was more likely to have killed her and Jane panicked and covered it up. It just seems a total let down for the iconic 30th anniversary storyline to be pinned on BOBBY BEALE.
I guess it depends how it develops now, could be interesting with how they handle it and whether Bobby actually realises what he's done or is he a complete psycho Perhaps this storyline is more to do with how it develops than the actual reveal.
When Denise was slapping her, I was thinking where is Lucy I didn't expect her to be outside, I thought Denise shoved her in the cupboard.
Haha amazing. I'm just glad it wasn't Jane because that would've been too obvious!
I'd literally rather it was Jane or Abi
I actually screamed "YESS" thinking I'd won my bet for Denise but then you saw Lucy sat there still alive
I would have had Peter as the one that killed her, at least it would have gave closure to the character when he leaves. I just think after all this time it was a bit of a let down Bobby did it.
Would have been much better as Cindy Beale!
BUT!! LMAO!!! I got a free bet of £20 when I put a last minute wager on Whitney at odds of 66/1 so I put it on Bobby at like 7.20 JUST before the bets would've closed and ... I won $55!
Is there no chance that the front door is open from someone running out??
Like Whitney slipping in oorrr Cindy hitting her and Bobby picking it up after the fight and Jane protecting both of them as both their finger prints would be on it??
I reckon Max came in from the back, argued with Lucy and left by the front door. Bobby wakes up, picks up the box, goes downstairs and strikes her in anger.
And what happened with Max after it looked as if he was headed straight for the back door?
EDIT: That seems plausible, Michael.
Glad I put a backup bet on Bobby in case Jane didn't do it!
Also Abi: I bumped into Lucy and battered her.
She is almost rivalling Shabnam for queen of Walford right now!
Haha us too!! We were like, 'Ahhh so it was Denise, won £100!' But ... no. As soon as I saw the empty floor hen the camera panned down I thought it'd be Cindy instead, but what niggled me was she acted really sweet in the episode whereas Bobby didn't.
I think the music box played 'Just Give Me A Reason' by P!nk, Lucy fell back in disbelief and hit her head off the table and died.
Where to start with tonight. Omg - what a perfect roller coaster (except the reveal of Bobby as the killer).
Kathy back! I knew it! I can't wait to see her back in action on the Square.
DEAN! Is he dead? The spoilers suggest Mick might have killed him.
TRACEY? I'm gutted she wasn't given a line to recognise her part in EE over the past 30 years.
Denise and Lucy's bitch fight was amazing.
Kim's live birth was so well done except the fact that we're expected to believe it managed to push out the really tight dress.
It's ridiculous that practically half the square were about to cover up Nick's death. Really? Thankfully Dot grassed herself up.
Vincent & Ronnie!
My opinion on Abi has changed dramatically - such a brill character the last few days!
Martin & Stacey is definitely happening. Mrs Stacey Fowler will be here by this time next year - I'll call it now.
LMAO AT THE DEATH COVER-UP!! How can half the square sit there and go 'Ooh, aha aha this is a good idea to hide a dead body' - ridiculous.
And yup - I was thinking that about the tight dress and the baby.
Should've been Cindy. Could've had a new Janine.
I thought he renewed his contract though? Unless that was a red herring, in which case *.*
Pissing myself.
I hope Dean's dead. It certainly looked like it - but would they have ANOTHER death so quickly?
That would mean Lucy, Emma, Nick, Dean and Stan would all die within one year.
More like the music box played 'Just Give Me A Reason' by P!nk, Michael jumped out shouting 'OMFG SCREEEEEEEECH GET HA OFF!' Lucy shit herself and fell back hitting her head off the table and died.
I liked the community coming together to help Dot out. It shows how much they care for her and appreciate the help she's given everyone.
I want dean dead but I wan't a satisfying ending to the rape case.
All this Lucy drama I forgot about what happened to Dean If he is dead I wonder where that leaves the Shabnam baby storyline.
!!! OH MY GOD
THe one of Miss Piggy with "has anyone seen my Denny" is hilarious too!
Omg and I remembered "you're not going to be my new stepmum"!! I mean imagine the *.*ness if ABi was the killer.
I nearly forgot what is going to happen with Dot, they wouldn't bang up an old woman would they. Could have had some closure on Jim Branning.
I really want bobby to turn all psycho now. Maybe he could kill Peter considering he is leaving
Dean can't be dead, he signed a new contract earlier this year.
And I don't really think DTC's idea of "justice" would be Mick killing him. As if that would give Linda any peace of mind.
I agree - "justice" would be it coming to a head later on. I expect it will die down a bit, then maybe he rapes someone else or it comes out that he actually raped Shabnam too and that tips it over the edge and he gets sent down for it.
I really can't see where they are gonna go with this storyline now? Have Bobby shipped off somewhere? Eventually Kathy is going to come home and knock some sense into everyone?
I loved both the episodes tonight My only complaint though would be I think the flashback episode should have been an hour long and included how Lucy's body was moved and how Emma worked it out.
Also does anyone else think Max was involved in moving the body as he thinks Abi did it?
I've just watched the Q&As with Dominic and he seems positive about how things will be panning out so I trust that any disappointment from the reveal will be eradicated. Tomorrow's episode will involve lots of tissues so be aware of an emotional half an hour!
I am certain the live ep will go right from Ian saying "I want to know everything that happened" - he probably still thinks it's Jane.
And then she'll tell him (and finally us ) what happened with moving the body
It be interesting to see what Jane is going to tell Ian tomorrow, will she tell him that Bobby did it or she did it, and where their marriage will go from here
Dominic Treadwell-Collins aka the executive producer on the reveal:
He should've stuck with Jane then Cindy. It would've been a more believable outcome.
I guess Bobby being REALLY messed up is a good big storyline but I'd still rather it was a competent actor like Mimi Keene.
I'm in two minds about this now...
All that hype and it turns out to be Bobby...as has been said this could lead to some interesting storylines and the effects on the characters involved but at the same time I do still feel a bit cheated as I really thought it would be Jane
Both episodes were great but that ending just felt like an anti climax (especially as we've already had 'good child gone bad' stories such as those with Ben) so I'll judge it after tomorrow's show.
we're gonna have another dotty cotton on our hands aren't we
i still wanna know how lauren worked out that it was bobby, i mean surely you'd never suspect a child of killing someone?!
Ugh, Dean can't be dead, he apparently signed a new contract http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/tv/eastenders-spoilers-rapist-dean-found-not-guilty-matt-di-angelo-says-sadly-realistic/
My head hurts.
OH MY GOD
!
Next season of Orange is the New Black
22 July 2003
9 year old Lucy Beale didn't know it at the time but this was a day that would change her life forever........
Eliot Carrington is the luckiest actor in Britain at the moment, he is the 4th different person to play the role of Bobby and he is the one who will become most well-known now. I can see him and the character of Bobby moving to the forefront of EastEnders now, a potential legendary character in the making as he grows older and becomes a teenager and a young adult.
It's so annoying seeing people say "people would have been unhappy with the reveal regardless" because that's really not the case. People are unhappy with Bobby being the killer because they think it makes a mockery of the storyline and the show. Just hopefully opinions will change with the aftermath.
I wonder if there's a reason Bobby was re-casted - perhaps the previous one and his family didn't agree to the idea of him being the killer?
So since September 2013 I have watched a total of about 10 episodes (the lead-up to and aftermath of Lucy's death and a random episode two weeks or so ago where Lauren discovered a piece of yellow paper) and I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed all four episodes thus far this week. Thursday's hour-long episode was obviously the highlight but it's been a very clever set of episodes with some very emotional scenes in all episodes and great acting from the actors, particularly those appearing in live scenes. It's difficult to pin a 'favourite moment' but I guess it would be Ian, Sharon, Stacey et. al gathering together to support Dot in her hour of need, only for her be taken away in a police car anyway. I really hope that's not the last we see of Dot as she's been essential since forever.
The brief reappearances of Tanya and Peggy were very unnecessary, as nice as it was to see the characters, particularly with the former's iconic "Who's Adam?" ruining her moment. I'm looking forward to the reintroductions of Martin and Kathy though as they were both before my time as a regular viewer, especially if it means the cutest couple STACIN happen.
Also, RE: Lucy's killer, Bobby did seem a disappointing reveal at the time but I trust that the showrunners know what they're doing with it. I didn't realise the scene with Jane, Bobby and Lucy was live though so kudos to Eliot Carrington!
I just watched the flashback episode on the iPlayer again and realised that at the beginning whilst the radio was on in the chip shop where Billy Mitchell was working a female voice said "here's the current number one" and instead of playing "Sigma - Nobody to love" they played "Aloe Blaac - The Man". Poor forgotten Sigma
Some funny pictures
I am all caught up with last night's episodes. A brilliantly done episode, absolutely gripping stuff (the whole week). My initial reaction was the same as most here at the reveal. Really underwhelmed and seeing his reveal just made it all the more ridiculous. BUT i have faith that this is going somewhere good. That article referencing 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' gives me hope that they have properly considered the implications of such a young killer and i think there is a lot of scope to go along with that. Children are disturbing people at times and it's never really explored much on TV so this could be quite the spectacle as the story continues to unfold.
It must have been Jane who Emma Summerhayes was talking to during the festive period and who received the text message as well.
I've just starting rewatching the whole week in prep for tonight's live episode. Don't judge me.
DTC said to Digital Spy that Jane and then Cindy were originally planned as the killer, but then somebody else suggested Bobby. Apparently all the stuff that actually fits (now I'm calmer the next day, I can see it's seeded quite well) such as Jane taking him away and Bobby turning up on the common where Lucy was found wasn't even planned because Bobby wasn't meant to be the killer then. It's just quite convenient that it all fits like that! It does make sense I suppose it's just I wish they didn't hype it up so much about who killed her because it being Bobby just feels disappointing compared to the numerous people with grievances. I'm still kind of disappointed but it being someone in her family makes it more saddening than say Abi or Whitney in a psycho moment I agree. And it gives scope for an even bigger storyline, whereas if it was just Abi in a psycho angry moment it'd just be Abi carted off and that's that really. Because "things die".
Thinking about it, it is really sad that Lucy dodged so many bullets (all those people who had grievances with her, all those altercations the night of her death) but it was just her own brother who killed her - and when Jane came he didn't even realise he did it.
I think Emma definitely met with Jane, the dialogue from that scene makes sense that way. Bobby being the killer also explains why Emma acted so traumatised about the whole thing. I don't think she'd be too conflicted were Ben or Whitney or Lee the killer. Also it explains why Jane was so pissed off about Emma trying to figure out who killed Lucy just the day before.
I want an explanation, even off screen, as to how Emma figured it out because I still can't fathom how she did it.
Also I've seen suggestions that Max helped move the body. Quite possibly because the 'you know' line still doesn't fit.
Now all we need is the explanation as to why Abi turned into a shifty psycho over the last 10 months.
18th April 'I love that dog'
27th September 'Things die'
'I bumped into Lucy and i battered her''
queen abi is now my new fave.
I preferred Denise and Lucy's bitch fight, but that line from Abi was iconic!
As a suggestion, perhaps there could be a thread of unanswered questions and then an answer can be shown next to it once its revealed in the show?
I don't think the killer changed during the story. More that Jane and Cindy were the initial ideas but they settled on bobby before beginning the storyline.
Oh yeah that does make sense
Harry Reid (Ben Mitchell) sort of got his predicition right, everyone else was wrong though.

I'm interested to see who Maddy Hill thought it was. She refused to predict at the NTAs interviews because she was convinced she was right and didn't want to spoil it for viewers.
William Hill have odds for who will be killed next and Phil Mitchell is the favourite. As if Phil will be killed

Im slowly coming around to this actually.
I'm reserving my full judgement until I've seen the aftermath episode tonight. The killer itself isn't what's important - it's the impact on those around Bobby, the build-up and the aftermath. The build-up was amazing, so I've no doubt the aftermath will also be amazing.
What time is this on tonight?
I'm hoping last night's reveal won't put people off watching tonight. A lot of people have said they're not going to continue watching but whether that was just heat of the moment comments or whether they were people who watched the show regularly, I'm not sure.
I thought Jane was Lucy's killer pretty early on in the story line, it only occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that the only reason she would kill Lucy is to protect her child, but then the thought of Bobby being the murderer crossed my mind and of course Jane would cover it up for him since he is her son so I wasn't all that surprised by the reveal.
I really hope they do a good job of the aftermath though, and don't turn Bobby Beale into another Ben Mitchell, knowing EastEnders Jane will tell Ian the truth and Jane will either leave with Bobby or Bobby will be shipped off to live with some distant relative or friend abroad so nobody ever finds out the truth and then in so many years time Bobby will return to Walford (played by a new actor) either to be close to Lucy again and to unburden himself of the guilt he feels for killing her - or he will come back a villain, the latter is probably the most likely given EastEnders history
LOL pls excuse my blindness/stupidity.
WHAT is this ending? The promo for Guetta/Emeli *.*
Brilliant for a live episode, a couple of random camera pans and sound effects but very good/emotional overall.
THAT ENDING OMG
DAMN:
Well... I'm crying my eyes out.
SHE'S EVERYWHERE!!11
Won't deny i wasn't teary at the end of that.
Amazing episode
I was in tears when Cindy read out that letter
Those scenes with the Beales at the end were incredibly heartbreaking.
Aw that was a brilliant end to a brilliant week! That promo for David/Emeli! *.* And not one mistake from the cast I don't think! Just a couple of minor camera issues.
The Acting from the Beale family was amazing there. Peter is such a crap sibling though. Never liked this Peter anyway, can't wait for him to leave. Half hope the rest if the Beales stitch him up for the murder. Bobby>>>>>>>>>>>>>Peter
Love the ending, quite fitting really to 30 years of Eastenders
As for the episode it was a bit of a tear jerker had me in tears most of the time. The child actor Eliot just pull it off. Well done to the Beales.
Well played EastEnders, well played
That episode was perfect. We even got Julia's theme!
That was an incredible episode! I admit I got very teary when Cindy read out the letter and Ian's reaction to it. The acting was so brilliant I forgot it was live at times! The Guetta/Sande song coming out of nowhere made me jump though.
CINDY Mimi Keene is a fabulous actress, I really hope they give her a lot to do
Fabulous episode, I'm glad it was really simple. Laurie Brett was my highlight though. The only eh thing was the random firework ending
That was really great, no line fluffing or anything and phenomenal performance from all of the Beales. Lovely closing scenes as well (random choice of song though, could've picked something a bit more...fitting)
I can't believe that the Beales manage to act the whole episode without slipping up on their lines considering they filled up the majority of the episode. I loved Julia's theme into the fireworks montage and I'm quite happy with the conclusion of the storyline. I imagine Peter will leave because he can't deal knowing the truth about Bobby killing Lucy.
I think the song complimented the message of the episode perfectly really, they've probably interpreted it as what Jane did for her love for Bobby.
Its nice to see Hetty again, I do miss her from the series, it seems so strange watching EE without Lucy as I have seen her growing up throughout the series.
An absolutely fantastic episode!
Beautifully played by all of the Beale family, they should be extremely proud of themselves, and the rest of the cast as well throughout the week. It's been amazing throughout and might have hooked me back into it!
I did think Peter Beale's reaction was a bit strange when he was saying 'I'm going to get Bobby. I'm going to kill him', yes Lucy was his twin and he would be angry but Bobby is his 10 year old brother! I suppose it was to make way for his departure though.
Cindy reading the letter was a beautiful moment, so upsetting to hear Lucy's last feelings
I did like the fireworks too, it allowed for a celebration of the show with all the characters. Mick and Ian standing together showed the old and the new.
OMG Tameka Empson doing Mastermind!
Laurie Brett still putting on her London accent even though she's not acting anymore! *.*
"I didn't even know she had a mum" in that preview!!
omfg Abi kills me like every line nowadays
Omg that preview!
Surely Dean can't actually be dead?
Dean's actually dead?
And Abi
That preview
Loved that hour of Eastenders backstage
Gosh tonight was so amazing, especially when Lucy's letter was read
Fantastically emotional episode, I think most of the people who were underwhelmed at yesterday's ending will have changed their minds seeing the effect it has and will had on the rest of the family. The 'What I Did For Love' ending did make me jump but it was nice to see the whole cast come together for the ending of such a landmark episode!
Oh, and Mimi was sensational tonight especially with the pressure of reading that letter. She delivered it perfectly, incredible for a 16 year old. I really think she will became one of the stars of the show in a few years, become the new 'Stacey' so to speak in terms of her popularity.
I really hope she is, such an underrated actresses who's had so little to do since Beth was born so I hope she has a prominent role in dealing with the aftermath and rises in the ranks of the soap. Like I said, she was fabulous tonight (as was everyone really) - her reading the letter was my highlight along with Laurie's acting while Jane was taking the blame.
For some reason I doubt Dean's dead. 'A body believed to be Dean's was found in a burnt out car', perhaps somebody just put two and two together after he was reported missing or something, or maybe there's a cover up going on.
Amazing live episode tonight, The acting was brilliant. Abi has really suprised me during these live episode's, Cindy was amazing tonight too! They all was though.
When Mimi started to read the letter, Adam's crying...oh my GOD that was hard to watch. What an absolutely incredible week, especially tonight.
What a week, sad its over as the build up and excitement all week has been great and i have enjoyed it all so much.
When was the preview shown, I missed it. Was it during Backstage Live or an advert after it?
At the very end of Backstage Live!
Thanks Joseph, just seen it! *.*
What an incredible week for EastEnders, everyone involved should be very proud. Highly entertaining.
The letter at the end, oh my goodness. Felt so terrible for everyone involved, though I also feel terrible that Peter missed that part. Who knows if we'll even see him again...
Hate Bobby though.
I'm watching part of the omnibus atm. I haven't been a regular viewer for many years.
When they kicked the door down and found Nick Cotton dead, that brought things full circle to the first episode. Nick, if I remember rightly, killed Reg Cox who was found at the start of episode 1.
I also saw some of Friday's live episode, including the Julia / Tony love heart as a tribute to the two people who created the programme.
Legit an abi stan now.
With all the Cotton drama, they now need to bring Mrs Doyle back permanently.
With Dot in jail She'll have to make all the tea.
The episode after something really dramatic is always quite boring, ain't it?
It felt one of those episodes, the calm before a storm, with a lot of things happening all in one episode.
That was filmed long before the actors knew the revelation right? They didn't specify Bobby as the killer once so i wonder how much longer this will go on for.
The highlight was definitely Jane's overnight hair cut.
I'm guessing the honeymoon will mean by the time they get back, things will have caught up and they'll start acknowledging Bobby was the killer.
Abi was great again tonight
The scene between Abi and Ian/Jane near the start was very odd.
I can't see Bobby becoming a serial killer considering he doesn't even know he's a murderer at the moment he'll no doubt find out eventually but I doubt they'd turn him into that.
Kush needs to do every scene with his top off.
I know this will sound stupid, but why has Mick's character turned into Danny Dyer?
DYINF at psycho bunny boiler Abi
Julia's theme!
But OMG Abi was on fire today with her comments.
Aww so glad Peter and Lauren left together and got Julia's Theme
I love how soap characters can up and move to the other side of the world at a moment's notice with barely move than one bag/case
Won't miss this Peter at all.
Abi STEALING every episode right now.
I will miss peter and his extremely tight shirts.
Ben Hardy (Peter) has been cast in the new X-men movie
Over 20 million people watched some of EastEnders last week (35% of the UK population):
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a631415/eastenders-30th-anniversary-week-had-reach-of-20-million-viewers.html#~p5iJyaOYfaZWHR
I don't really get how that's been worked out. Is that 20 million different individuals? And do they really mean people or 20 million television sets had EE on? I mean the all the average views added up equals just over 49 million.
Something I do understand and is also impressive is that there were 11.5m requests on iPlayer last week for EE related programmes (presumably including the first episode, Good Friday episode and the Cliffhanger countdown then) with the flashback episode getting 1m requests in 24 hours - a feat achieved by three other programmes. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a631415/eastenders-30th-anniversary-week-had-reach-of-20-million-viewers.html#~p5k6XeClK2iXZM
I was thinking last night. What was the point in Ryan returning for like 2 episodes to try and see Lilly? He kind of appeared then vanished again
EastEnders has gone back to being boring again
After an anniversary week all the soaps are boring for a week or three!!! after, it will improve very shortly i am sure as we have some nice storylines bubbling away that have to shine yet. Id love episodes like anniversary all year round but thats impossible to happen and a lot to ask for. We had almost 2 years of many boring episodes so a week or two wont hurt us and hte episodes are still ok that are been transmitted.
I'm not finding EastEnders even slightly boring right now! Not quite as gripping as anniversary week but I expected that. It's on top form right now
I get that this week wouldn't be as exciting as anniversary week and I think everyone knows that. But it doesn't take away from the fact that it has been rather boring, even if you ignore last week. Particularly so for Monday and Tuesday, at least Thursday started to show new storylines.
'What Are You Doing?'
'BOLOGNESE! I Just Told You *sigh*'
Oh Abi
Careful, Kris, Shazza will be coming on to you next!
I was expecting that box to be full of money which would just so happen to pay for a good lawyer for Dot.
I thought Peter and Laurens exit was really sweet and they had great on screen chemistry and Julias theme was nicely used for their departure. I love Linda's mother id love her to join full time.
Is there a particular reason that Elaine seems to sing in every episode she's in?
I really want Elaine to join full time, one of the best characters in the show
The Bobby and Peter scene on Tuesday when Bobby asks if he killed Lucy was filmed last week. The omnibus episode showed the original scene where no reference to Lucy's murder is given: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a632215/eastenders-omnibus-airs-different-bobby-and-peter-beale-scene.html#~p5Bx7DE4jXq914
In a quiet period, Abi really is stealing the show. Intentionally or not, she's just hilarious.
EastEnders is currently researching into having a transgender storyline soon played by a transgender actor.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a632251/eastenders-to-have-transgender-storyline-says-executive-producer.html
Ellen Thomas (Grace Olubunmi, Mercy's grandmother in the show previously and also the principal in the epic BBC3 comedy Coming Of Age) has joined the show as a new matriach who has "strong ties" to the show.
Ada Fox maybe?
