Is that joke? I'm not being funny, but EE had a very rough 2014 due to being shafted around the schedules because of the football or suffering constant clashes with Emmerdale. For one week, the BBC and ITV can't give EE the plump slots in the schedules for its special week? It's ridiculous. The BBC treats EE appalling considering it's the most consistent performer for the channel.
Also, ITV will be airing a football match on Thursday and so people are speculating there will be an hour long episode of Emmerdale (6:45-7:45pm) which means a CLASH shock horror with EastEnders' live episode. |

Eastenders' summer was the worst it has ever been in the ratings and I think it struggled to get back up - with all the drama in September/October, I don't think a few days of just over 7m in the overnights really reflected what they should have been. Shame, as the Lucy storyline really kept EE going strong during April and May just before the dip. I'll never understand why the BBC and ITV don't work around each others' schedules when it comes to their best programmes - it's similar to how Broadchurch and Silent Witness clash. Still, I'd be shocked if they did have Emmerdale clash with the live episode, although I think the second half of the episode would be enough to keep the average ratings up over the full half an hour if it was the case. |

Sam Womack and Rita Simons are brilliant. Whoever casted them (I think it was the current EP actually) did a brilliant job!

It's disappointing to see them falling behind Coronation Street on the ratings again seeing how the latter has just been horrendous.

My sister's working on this as part of her apprenticeship with the BBC, her behind the scenes knowledge (though no one knows who killed Lucy obvs) has kinda got me interested in it again. I used to watch this so much back in 2006-8, but since then, I've never bothered apart from the Christmas specials.
The trailer legit creeped me out, EE hasn't done that in so long |

I definitely agree that it was a great casting, particularly Ronnie who has become one of the best loved characters of the show, past and present! I've just finished watching Ronnie/Roxy's iPlayer episode; it was really funny and you can tell Sam and Rita are best friends in real life. |

APPARENTLY Lauren will be ruled out of the suspects soon as she's not been shown on the new photo released.

During the 30th Anniversary Week, BBC Three will be showing classic episodes each day!
Monday 8-8:30pm (Remember there's no episode BBC One, so this instead) Tuesday 7-7:30pm Wednesday 7-8pm Thursday 8:30pm-9pm I hope they show the first ever episode and Archie & Peggy's wedding/Danielle's death. I'm not sure which other episodes are iconic? Maybe Christmas Day divorce papers, Sharongate or Who Shot Phil? |

I'm sure they will show divorce papers and Sharongate. I think who shot Phil? might have been a longer episode, from memory? They should show the episode where Peggy goes to Spain and finds out Frank faked his death and Sam 2.0 is working a pole.

I was going to suggest they'd show an episode from each decade but I don't think there's really anything that iconic from the 2010s. Perhaps the 25th anniversary live episode?
I think showing the first episode is inevitable and the suggestions of the Christmas Day divorce papers, Sharongate and Who Shot Phil? are all really good shouts and probably most likely. If not, the aftermath of Kat revealing she's Zoe's mum could be and there's plenty of great episodes from when Diederick Santer was in charge (2007-10). |
