Thelonia would like to present its first ever entry.
Hailing from Philadelphia in the U.S. of A, electronic duo Samantha Gongol and Jeremy Lloyd, better known as Marian Hill, have been chosen to represent us at the 73rd Buzzjack Song Contest with 'Got It'.
Their refreshing, synthy, pop-infused, electronic R&B sound is right up our street.
It's definitely saxy.
We hope your enjoy this and, as a country, we thank you for taking the time to listen.

Coming at you from the Netherlands, LNY TNZ have teamed up with Ruthless on production and U.S. artist The Kemist on vocals to provide an absolute banger.
We know hardstyle-type songs are not to everyone's taste, but with catchy lyrics and an impressive drop, we think this'll be accessible to many.

Thelonia DNQ for BJSC LXXIV Final
Unfortunately, our hardstyle route was not a hit with the other countries and our second entry bombs at 28th place in Semi-Final 1.
We will learn from this and hopefully come back stronger next time around!

Thelonia BJSC LXXVI Result
So, we made it through Semi-Final 2 to qualify for what we believe is one of the best finals to have taken place! 
Anne-Marie landed mid-table in the end finishing respectably in 22nd with 149 points.
I've got this feeling that the next contest will be another corker.

We QUALIFIED and then DNQ
So, Zac Samuel was a minor hit in Semi-Final 1 just qualifying by the skin of its teeth. However due to an initial voting mix-up, both Thelonia and Theodora got 48 points and Theodora made it through so we flopped out in 21st place.
Oh well, we were NEARLY there.

Beats International - In Ghetto
Thelonia goes back to 1991 with its entry for UK Chart Near Misses. Fronted by the then ex-Housemartins member Norman Cook, Beats International rose to prominence with their UK #1 single 'Dub Be Good To Me'. A few singles and a second album later came their cover of Elvis Presley's 'In The Ghetto' which sadly couldn't match the success of previous releases. It reached #44 in February 1991, but that aside, it is certified electronic bop and one we are proud to put forward for this spin-off.

I think we're overdue a catch up.
So, in the last BJSC contest of the year in November, E^ST was chosen to represent us. Despite sweeping predictions for a qualification, we did not succeed and we placed in 23rd of Semi 2 with 41 points. #sadface
This week, however, The Wombats represented us in the Christmas spin-off and we went on to achieve our highest ever placing in any contest, finishing 13th with 124 points!

We Are Your Friends is a 2015 'coming of age' American musical drama from Max Joseph (Catfish: The TV Show) which sees Zac Efron at the helm as aspiring DJ Cole Carter bringing the culture of EDM to the screen.
The soundtrack to this film is fantastic which includes stunning remixes: Years & Years – Desire (Gryffin Remix), Seinabo Sey – Younger (Kygo Remix), AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like (Tchami Remix). Artists such as Klingande, Hayden James, Fake Blood, Hook N Sling, Carnage, Bro Safari and Will Sparks also feature, not forgetting the namesake from Justice & Simian.
For this BJSC spinoff, we've chosen the opening track from the soundtrack and the song which launches us into the closing credits.

Disappointed to see this missing out, it seems like most people liked it but just not getting the big points from anyone (and in fairness I'd have been the same as it was my prospective 4 points in semi 2). Mura Masa apparently cursed in BJSC after 'Lovesick Fuck' DNQed as well. </3

Lupa - Circus Game

Our entry to the 100th BJSC contest comes from a British electronic rock group who I had the pleasure of seeing live at a little local festival to myself back in May this year. I'd been on the lookout for their music since and tracked their preparations to release something properly. 'Circus Game' is the group's first single and it premiered in full back in September when it featured on a BBC Introducing show on the 3 Counties network. Wanting to share the track with you all for the contest, I used a rip of the song which was seemingly in its demo form. However, it still, to me, highlighted an energetic track from a group I am really excited about. Fast forward a few weeks and the song is about to be released properly and I now have the pleasure of sharing the mastered version which is due for release on November 24th.
This may be Thelonia's last regular contest for a while, but I'm glad I got the opportunity to bring this group's music to a new audience.

Looking back on 2018...
What a year it’s been for us and definitely the best year since we joined in terms of performance. 6 Qs against 2 DNQs is a fab result and I really think we found our feet as a country this year and put forward some of our best entrants. This year also brought us out highest ever position in 105 with 13th place for ilan Bluestone. We’d been unable to top our debut entry from Marian Hill (14th place) before now. ilan and Fourward have also been put forward for TBO which we’re grateful as we’ve never had an opportunity like that either! Thank you to all who voted and we shall now press on to 2019!

Bumping your national thread for the first time since 2018. Another strong entry from you this month, it’s giving me vibes of Showtek’s recent release Pum Pum but this is less grating. This seems like the sort of entry I would expect to see do well here, and it helps we are in the same Semi this time around. Have a good contest!

So PVA is a very peculiar discovery for me, it’s not what I expected at all when the song started, but wow that sudden change in direction was incredible. I think in all seriousness it’s your best entry of 2022 and all I can say is thank you for reconfirming to this midway through the confirmations.
