Ed Sheeran could make it three weeks at #1 on the singles chart. Big debuts await for Dave & Stormzy with Clash and The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber with Stay, plus new tracks from Billie Eilish with NDA, Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under and Post Malone’s Motley Crue. BTS also drop Permission To Dance alongside a physical release of Butter. With England’s final game on Sunday, expect a climb for any football-related songs this week
Will it be a fifth week for Olivia? Irish band Inhaler look to mount a challenge with their debut record It Won’t Always Be Like This, while Tom Odell could grab a fourth top five album with monsters. Other new releases include Snoh Aalegra, Vince Staples, Tkay Maidza, The Wallflowers and The Maine

I think Ed’s safe at #1 even if England win - Ed’s doing nearly 100k which means 3 Lions would effectively need to do close to 200k, requiring unprecedented streams.
I somehow hope 3 lions get #1 if England win tomorrow.
The most streaming points anything has had while on ACR in a week to date is 70,623 for Mariah around Christmas 2019. 3 Lions would need to beat that and do c.20k in downloads to get to #1 this week. In some ways, that would be an even bigger achievement than England winning
If I were Ed Sheeran I'd take my song off streaming for a couple of days if it looked like I was going to block Three Lions from #1. It would be a good publicity stunt and would probably make him and the song more popular in the long run.
The whole ACR thing is good for speeding up the charts, but putting all songs more than 3 years old on it permanently is stupid and doesn't prevent the Christmas situation anyway, it was nice when random old songs would re-enter the charts for a bit in the download era.
20 mins to First Look!
Weirdly excited for the first look tonight, much more so than I usually am My guess is 3 new entries with Dave/Stormzy, The kid laroi/Bieber and Billie Eilish
Damn, completely forgot about them. Make that 4 new entries then, they will defo be in there!
I wasn't here last week cause I was in my Grandma's and she doesn't have no Internet.
20 Mimi Webb - Good Without
Bad start.
Just realised that the new atomic kitten song charted at #86 on Friday so I don’t think that will be counted as a new entry, just a massive climb.
Vindaloo will definitely be in here today.
19 Olivia Rodrigo - traitor
18 ArrDee - Oliver Twist
Id love to ser atomic kitten I'm the top 20 today.
17 Jonasu - Black Magic
Oh wow big drops
Wow, didn’t expect black magic this low, especially since it’s Spotify numbers just keep increasing.
Football Songs are just pushing some tracks down, should level out by the end of the week
Shame Black Magic has dropped but still time for it to climb again.
16 Anne-Marie & Niall Horan - Our Song
15 Becky Hill & David Guetta - Remember
14 KSI - Holiday
13 Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline
Sweet Caroline
I didn’t expect to see sweet Caroline this high considering it’s on acr, not complaining though as it will always be a class song!
Sweet Caroline at #13!
Atomic Kitten for a Top 10 then surely?
I guess the (relatively) large itunes sales for all the football songs will be helping out massively in today’s update, but their influence will likely decrease as the week goes on.
12 Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan - By Your Side
11 Måneskin - Beggin
Atomic Kitten top 10 today.
Yessss! Atomic Kitten on track for a Top 10 hit!
(I know it's only first look and it's buggered if we lose tonight regardless but let me have my moment lmao)
I haven't even heard the Atomic Kitten track yet, interested to see what it does later in the week.
10 Atomic Kitten - Southgate You're the One (Football's Coming Home Again)
Epic moment really!
If England loose I think this will struggle to stay top 40. Does this mean we still have 3 new entries to come??
9 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
I love the Kid Laroi and Bieber song!
8 Måneskin - I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE
I want Little Mix to hold their place in the Top 5
7 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - Stay
isn't the BTS song just a b-side?
Aww I hope this can climb by Friday.
Loving this on first listen me liking a Justin Bieber track well a collab
Song of the year
Ouchhh I take that back I guess BTS aren’t even top 20!
Shocked by that usually video views on YouTube alone help them chart high.
6 Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix - Heartbreak Anthem
It’s the Dave/Stormzy Collab.
I can only assume that atomic kitten were counted as a new entry, then clash and stay to make up the 3 new entries.
There must be another song still to come - Ed, Olivia, 3 Lions and Dave/Stormzy I can think of but there still has to be another song - BTS seem likely but it could either be with Permission to Dance (with downloads + YouTube streams boosting it up) or Butter (with physicals out)?
Or alternatively, something else
5 BTS - Permission to Dance
Surprised BTS are this high.
Oh wow, I was completely wrong then lol.
I actually like this one more than Butter!
Sounds a bit cheesy this
Yeh got right told you bts still come
4 Dave & Stormzy - Clash
Clash is trash on first listen.
I love this dave/Stormzy collab, gets better with every listen plus very catchy hook to it!
This new Dave track is just disappointing tbh. Not a fan on first couple of listens. Maybe a grower but we'll see.
how come BTS are #5?
on iTunes they did 0.6 relative to Ed on day 1 and 0.3 on day 2, sure that's not even 3K
on Youtube they're new at #3 with average views, nothing crazy, 600K, thats not even 1K sales
and the song has done poorly on streams everywhere
This Dave track does nothing for me.
3 David Baddiel, Frank Skinner & The Lightning Seeds - Three Lions
I never ever thought I'd see atomic kitten top 10 again even in a midweek chart.
2 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u
1 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits
No Top 20 recap?
I really want to see good 4 u increase this week so it can go back to 0 weeks of decline and avoid acr. Not tired of it yet 😂
Gone have get Olivia Rodrigo to acr before she leave number 2 spot
Ironic that Three Lions is further behind on downloads than streaming when the downloads helped it to #1 last time. Still wondering if a "winners remix" or such like is in the pipeline for potential release after tonight. That would certainly help give them a download boost.
Ahhhh I knew I shouldn’t of doubted myself.
BTS’s YouTube views would have been big, downloads were big with the Instrumental and original...
Plus iTunes dominates first look there’s massive streaming data missing.
I think they’ll struggle to stay top 10 this time around.
BTS had an instrumental version which made the top 10 on iTunes as well. And although they didn't manage to overtake Ed, they were still pretty far ahead of everything else excluding football songs at their peak (outselling Galantis more than 3 to 1, nearly 4 to 1 combining the instrumental version), it's just that Ed's lead was and still is huge. And they did at least make the top 40 on Spotify on their first day which is not nothing!
I expect they'll drop massively over the week but the #5 First Look position makes complete sense to me.
doesn't make sense to me even if adding the Instrumental, which accounted for very little
and the YT views were not huge either
can't see remaining top 10 unless the Army buys from their website or something
I really wish Olivia’s label bothered to avoid her hitting acr, we’ve had no remixes of any single promoted etc
I guess Three Lions wont be heading for No. 1 this week then.
I wonder how far all the football songs will fall after England's defeat. Would be nice for Atomic Kitten to have done enough over the weekend to still be top forty on Friday but we'll see.

Didn't realise S Club 7 were releasing a new greatest hits! I had their original 2003 one on CD when I was a kid!
Hard to tell if a 7k lead will be enough for Inhaler - Queen were only 4.4k ahead on Monday last week and barely lost it in the end, but I assume Inhaler will be more frontloaded (although can't rule out it having another sales dump later in the week).
I reckon that's enough of a gap for Inhaler if they continue to push throughout the week!
Team Inhaler are going for it this week - £5.99 downloads, £6 personalised albums via Banquet Records, new signed bundles etc., so I think they will keep the top spot
That S Club 7 cover
I doubt none of the football songs will be there on Friday.
Do we know Little Mix's figures?
Looking at some of the numbers:
Three Lions is on 24,400, which would've been enough for #11 last week.
Atomic Kitten are between the 13,534 of Laroi/Bieber and 11,787 of BTS. The first figure would've been enough for #25 last week, the latter figure enough for #31.
Sunday streaming won't have been accounted for either and both songs, as we know, have done very well on all platforms for Sunday, so we're looking at some respectable positions come Friday (and would be even if they sold 0 from their current totals!!)
In the album chart, Tom Odell's 3,867 figure would've got him to #8 last week so I hope he's on track for a respectable finish this week. I'm scared after Laura Mvula ended up at #21
Looks like Atomic Kitten is guaranteed Top 40 and Three Lions guaranteed Top 10!
So many formats for Inhaler!
Inhaler could be the first Irish group to reach the UK #1 with their debut album since The Script in 2008
With atomic kitten on 12k a top 40 return looks very safe for them.
atomic kitten has probably passed around 20k now following yesterdays streaming, they should comfortably finish top 20 tbh. they're also holding up decently well on apple music to still at #14 so it will get a couple of extra sales and i'm sure they will at least manage 50k streams tomorrow on spotify.
Atomic Kitten coming for that Top 20 smash!
Shame it won’t be Top 10 but there’s always next year, provided Southgate is still in charge of course.
It will certainly be a great surprise to see Atomic Kitten getting another top 40 16 years later!
Nice to see S Club 7’s Essential higher than I’d have expected too. I picked it up for £5 in Asda - there are quite a few good album tracks missing that are more notable than some of the songs on here (Stand By You, Show Me Your Colours, I Really Miss You), and I’d also liked to have seen Let Me Sleep, the longer version of Two In A Million (the two versions on here are practically identical) and the Eiffel 65 remix of Reach.
The sequencing is a little odd too in places - Say Goodbye the fourth track!?
Also it’s a shame the album isn’t on streaming because a few of those b-sides that are included would have been nice additions to be able to stream.
S club 7 and atomic kitten both fighting for their place in the charts in separate charts,"its like going back to the days when I got overly excited about the charts.
great for Inhaler but a bit of a let down for Tom Odell
S Club 7's 'Essential' feels like those Gold compilations that charted each week for different artists recently, pretty sure they all started off Top 30/40 before dropping to ~#50.
Ya those gold albums all fell through the week but hopefully s club can stay top 40.
How gutting that the Big Reunion song didn't chart one place higher at #20 rather than #21. Then Atomic Kitten would have been the only girl band ever to achieve a top 20 hit in 4 different decades!! Even if this one goes top 30/40 they will be the only girl band to feature on top 30/40 hits in 4 consecutive decades... out of all the girl bands Atomic Kitten is not the one I would have seen achieving this
Atomic Kitten could be the first girl group to have a top 40 hit in four different decades.
Feel old yet?
Tom Odell It’s literally some of his best work to date yet looks like it’s going to be an 9-out kinda release
Hopefully Tom Odell can stay top 10 and stay in the top 100 week 2 (that bit may be optimistic)
Great start for Inhaler!
Usually Tom Odell always get very good promo on TV
Like Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross
Has he had tv promo this time?
Its also a shame that hes been having a huge hit on Tiktok for months
with his old song Another Love but tHat hasnt helped a tiny bit
For me it seems like hearing a song on TikTok and then buying/listening to it outside of that is like the experience of hearing a song on a film or TV show soundtrack.
You sometimes get invested in the song because you hear it over and over in a context that reminds you of the connected visual experience, but that’s often as far as it goes and most people don’t usually go seeking out other songs from the artists because they don’t have the same emotional connection.
It might be the last time until 2024 where football songs will re-enter the chart as I can see them being kept out next year by the Xmas rush
Baddiel & Skinner will probably do a christmas remix of Three Lions entitled Three Reindeer and it will be about Santa bringing football home and will feature a guest rap from LadBaby

Three Lions is only a couple of hundred behind what it sold last week at #4, while Atomic Kitten's figure would've been enough for #15 last week!
Laroi is gaining slightly on Galantis (#6) so a potential top 5 debut could be on the cards there when Atomic Kitten drop behind...!
3 Lions will be safe for at least #4 again, maybe even #3 depending how well Clash holds up (and how the Thursday streams are estimated)
Only ~600 units added for Inhaler today, I can still see Olivia overtaking them at this rate but it'll probably be close unless they do have a successful sales bump later in the week.
'Three Lions' possibly still coming to climb to #3 even after the loss
Looks like 3 lions is safe for top 5 this week then meaning Scott will need to play it, I look forward to hearing what he has to say when announcing it😂 it’s still holding up surprisingly well on Apple (still at #20) almost 48 hours after the match.
I'd expect Atomic Kitten and Neil Diamond to get played too, no reason why they shouldn't, especially if they can play a load of Christmas songs on 1st January
well didn’t they announce Three Lions at number one in 2018 after England had been knocked out? no reason for them to skip the song this weekend.
So pleased to see Atomic Kitten at #5 even though they will have dropped off rapidly now on sales and streams
Do we think Inhaler have done enough to hold onto #1?
They added a new vinyl to their website earlier, and reduced the signed CD/Cassette bundles to £8.99 and the standard CD to £4.99 today.
Atomic kitten top 5 is great to see albeit shortlived, they are pretty much guaranteed top 15 now.
It's really a wonder that fans of moderately popular indie bands ever pre-order their albums any more since they seem to literally all end up being reduced in price after a couple of days.
(not that this isn't also the case for other genres but it seems especially prevalent in indie)
The million dollar question is where does everyone think Three Lions, Sweet Caroline and Southgate You’re the One would have charted had England won on Sunday?
I think Ed would still have ultimately held #1 even if England had won but 'Three Lions' could have been comfortably #2. All hypothetical indeed though.
How on earth have Atomic Kitten added 5-6k sales and 'Three Lions' 13k on the Monday after England were defeated?! Surely most people will have stopped streaming them after Sunday? (And that's with all that missing streaming data for Monday too... weird!)
Oh OK that explains it! Big drop tomorrow I guess then.
Inhaler are going for it today - they’ve just reduced the price of their standard vinyl to £6.99 on their website
I hope Inhaler hold on and i like to see that they are putting in the effort to hold the Number1.
Thats a crazy drop in price, weren't they selling it for like 20 pounds the day before?
I think if I were a loyal fan that bought the vinyl at 20 pounds, I'd be pissed off...
I've read many times about mid-week sales on downloads or CDs
but not on albums and not like a 75% sale

Oooooh Tom will end up top 3?
Well there's the sales bump Inhaler needed to be safe at #1! Feeling like they might be the next act to have a big drop from #1 though after a spell of a few #1s in a row that at least got a second week in the top 5.
Looks like it could be very close between 'Three Lions' and 'Clash' for #3.
Origin of Symmetry remains Muse's very best album for me.
Are Little Mix 6?
I hope S club can stay top 40. Tom odell might get lucky and overtake Muse.
where’s our song?

Seven Nation Army, Shape of You, Dreams and Wonderwall still top 100?
A full house of Sun-Thu mids first we've had in over 3 months, since the week which ended with Montero debuting at #1.
Looks like Dave/Stormzy will take #3, and Inhaler will just about hold on to the #1 album
Is rain radio get any close
Atomic Kitten still in the Top 10!
Almost certainly won’t be when the missing data is added but still…
Any updates for maneskin?thanks
Ah jeszzz at New Order going to miss out!
Is Ed on for 100k again or just short?
our song?
Any ideas if Sam Fender is still Top 75 with ‘Seventeen Going Under’? Thanks
is Sigala x Rita going Top 45 ?
Hope it stays that way Re Sam Fender didn’t realise he has a handful of top 75 hits to his name from the last album!
Good that Atomic Kitten are still top 10,. fingers crossed it stays top 15 but them going top 20 is really good in itself, Inhaler sales really slowing down down, only about 400 sales since the last update, and Olivia closing the gap quickly, i really hope they can hold on.
Looks like ‘you for me’ is on the rise in general though, so there’s always next week hopefully. Been listening to it a lot more and it’s growing on me.
Looks like Ed will beat his 1st week sales again this week.
It's not an apples to apples comparison as the way streaming sales are calculated has changed in the intervening years but the second week streaming sales for 'Bad Habits' were actually even higher than those for 'Shape Of You'.
Looks like it'll be right on the cusp of 100k again this week (probably just missing out?)
Thanks, pity they didn’t just release the vinyl this week for the single!
Very pleased that Origin of Symmetry is on course for a fairly high re-entry in the album chart thanks to the new version, one of my fave albums of all time and really hoping it can finish in the top five this week!
Also impressed by how well the football songs have been holding up throughout the week, even just a few weeks ago I certainly wasn't expecting Atomic Kitten and Neil Diamond in the top 40 in 2021
