Shania works incredibly hard on her career. |

Love them all except for the Christmas song, which I never heard. Never knew Don't Be Stupid peaked that high and higher You're Still the One & From This Moment On.

Wow. Some surprises in that top 10. Particularly 'When' - a track I'd all but forgotten she released in June '98 - being in her top 10 best sellers over some of her singles that did go top 10 - 'Party for Two' with Mark McGrath in December 2004 for instance (although if anything that shows how much the arse had fallen out of physical single sales at that time).

Surprised at just how low the sales are at the tail end of that top 10. Nice to see That Don't Impress Me Much edging closer to 1 million chart sales.
Shame they did not provide exact figures for her Greatest Hits as well. |

Shania Twain has been wowing UK audiences again following her barnstorming set at BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park, and is about to make her triumphant return with new album Now, but what about the hits that put her at the top of her game? We crunch the numbers of physical sales, downloads and streams, to conjure up a countdown of Shania's biggest songs. You're Still The One Shania had us all fooled with her first hit, which peaked at 10 in 1998. Thanks to this dreamy ballad about eternal love, we thought she was a chilled, romantic "two glasses of Chardonnay then an early night" kind of popstar. Little did we know what was round the corner. You're Still The One, the soundtrack to a million anniversary parties, has sold 401,000 copies to be her third biggest seller, and it's in the Top 5 of streams, too – 5.7 million plays since we started counting in 2014. From This Moment On Another ballad that sadly gets overlooked in the Shania back catalogue, but it was a big seller AND it charted higher than You're Still The One. Originally created as a duet with Elton John in mind, From This Moment On ended up a Shania-only moment, peaking at 9 and shifting over 233,000 copies. That Don't Impress Me Much OK, now we're getting to it. Shania's wondrous up-yours to every sleaze who ever chatted you up in a bar was a huge summer hit in 1999. It is, we can exclusively reveal, her best selling single in the UK, clocking up 868,000 sales, and has 5.8 million streams under its belt. Now that actually does impress us much, tbh. It's also Shania's highest-charting song (so far, and tied with another hit), spending three weeks at Number 3. Man! I Feel Like A Woman! Girls' nights out the world over got the anthem they truly deserved with this gutsy celebration of womanhood and nicking your boyfriend's clothes. Another Number 3 hit for Shania, in October 1999, Man! I Feel Like A Woman! – with its two exclamation marks, very unusual for a song title – is Shania's most streamed song in the UK, with 7 million plays. On the sales rail, it's second, racking up over 470,000 copies. Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You) More sass from Shania, this track was actually the second single from her album Come On Over in the US, but the last here, which is why it got a peppy (and hard to find now) remix for release in the UK. This new breath of life helped the song to Number 5 in early 2000. It's Shania's fifth top selling single with 155,000 copies shifted. I'm Gonna Getcha Good Come On Over is one of the best selling albums of all time in the UK, with 3.38 million copies sold. Bit, but, by late 2002, it was time to move on, and this was the first single from Shania's follow-up called, um, Up! She'd been away over two years – which doesn't feel like much when you consider how long she's been away this time — but the UK hadn't forgotten her. I'm Gonna Getcha Good peaked at 4, and has sold over 155,000 copies. Party For Two From 2004, this was not her last hit in the UK – Don't hit Number 30 in late 2005 – but it was her most recent Top 10. Despite the video being filmed in London, and some serious chandelier-swinging, it just misses her Top 10 best selling songs, landing at 11. And why is that? Well, its all down to this seasonal favourite… White Christmas If you cheated and scrolled down for the full Top 10s, you may have noticed this little curveball in there. Yes, it's that White Christmas, from Michael Buble's Christmas album in 2011 and, yes, it is Shania's second most streamed song in the UK! 6.44 million plays since we started counting in 2014. They do when you consider that the OCC have only given a few significant figures for sales and streams, so there is a margin of error (well for the top 2 anyway, there's a huge margin of error for #3). (also noticed that OCC have underestimated White Christmas' sales, perhaps they're using 1:150 and MW are using 1:100???) |

Even considering how much songs are getting lately from trickle streaming, I find it hard to believe You're Still The One has gained over 50k in combined sales and Don't Be Stupid over 23k since July.
I am taking the sales information in the new article with a pinch of salt. |

At the time she offered singles that were so different to everything else in the chart and singles caught on with people and the album became huge. Come On Over is still an album i listen to from time to time and enjoy it. |

She's getting close to 1 million combined units for TDIMM. Nice to see she has three songs over 400k.
Come On Over definitely does deserve those sales, its a very solid album all the way through. Country pop crossover at its finest imo. She stood out massively to everything else at the time, It was the first time I was introduced to country music, albeit with a pop/rock undertone. It was TDIMM that made the album sales sky rocket from what I remember, but given she'd had two very popular wedding style hits prior to that it just became a word of mouth success. To be fair most of the biggest selling albums in the UK are fuelled by one big hit and a follow up of other popular hits. |
