Anybody else see this? I watched it by chance just after CBB but I'm SO glad I did! Absolutely brilliant, not too much going on on so that it was too much but there were so many twists and turns. I can't wait for the next episode, that cliffhanger ending I actually might have to watch all the Aussie aired episodes, one of the most fantastic and gripping new dramas I've seen in ages.
I wanted to watch this since I saw the trailers, because it looked absolutely amazing, and I'm so glad I did watch it tonight. SO dramatic, and I was hooked the whole time. That ending really was quite horrifying, but so goosebump-ingly (is that a word? ) amazing! I really LOVE Frankie already. <3
Aussie you say??? Hmmm will have to check this out, and check with my friends too see if any of them have seen it.
Three posts and no mention of the fact that it's a remake ("reimagining") of probably the most iconic prison drama ever, "Prisoner Cell Block H"?
surely this can't be better than Orange is the New Black?
I haven't even seen Orange Is The New Black, so I can't say that's the best new show I've seen in a while
Kind of tempted to start watching this as I am in a Orange Is The New Black comedown, I doubt it will match to that at ALL but it might be good.
Tonight's episode was absolutely fantastic! The ending as well, was tearing up. Such a good drama.
Well tonight's episode was very emotional. Franky's whole story is just so intriguing, but upsetting. All the flashbacks and when she let her dad go at the end. </3 Will be interesting to see how she turns out at the end of the series (if it goes that way). Her that thinks she's in charge of everybody on the other hand and forced Bea to press the machine onto Franky's hand is nothing but a vicious witch. :/
Yeah Jacs really gets on my tits. I hope next week or in the next couple of episodes we get her story, I'd love to know why she has such a hold over everybody and what she's in for, because she never actually does anything for herself and just gets people to do things for her, except when she cut Frankie. And yet we know she's been banged up at least twice...
Carla Bonner
SHIT. Forgot this was on. 5+1 it is.
Oh my god Bea This whole thing with Debbie is so heartbreaking.
Well I'm bumping this because I just finished season 3. Granted that's not UK pace, so I won't spoil, but good god!! This is one of the best shows on tv. It's absolutely superb. What a finale!
Is anyone still watching?
I think with my long summer I'll end up caving and watching this early but for the past two seasons I watched at UK pace! Series 2's finale was brilliant, both series in fact have been all killer no filler *.*
Season 3 is the best. It just gets better. Honestly, it felt like every episode had some form of cliffhanger and you could tell it was building to a blinding finale. It didn't disappoint one bit. It was absolutely thrilling and very emotional.
Its back on Wednesday in the UK, I can not wait
Starts in Aus on May 10th so we'll probably get it here around August time.
My mum watches this so I've seen the odd bit here and there, she usually sends me out the room saying "you won't like it, it's not your thing", clearly she doesn't know how invested I am in Orange Is The New Black. I'm tempted to start this because of that but in the same sense, I don't wanna be constantly comparing the two
Can't wait! I've only just caught up on the latest series.
Anyone watching at Aus pace? The first two episodes have been on fire!
Yep! Episode 3 was fantastic too. That shower scene was brutal.
We know Joan's manipulative but DAMN, episode 3...wow
Started on Channel 5 last night for anyone not watching at Aus pace.
Have to say this show just seems to get stronger as each series progresses!
This Show gets better and better..am loving season 4 so far..tad annoyed its been moved from Channel 5 to 5star now though in the UK!!
Channel 5 really do take the piss don't they? What about the viewers who have watched the first 3 episodes and who don't have 5*? Absolute twats.
It's a good job I watch at the Aus pace. Episode 8...NO SPOILERS. But WOW. Talk about f***ing tense.
Monday's episode UK pace... Wow. Such a hard watch, but an incredible episode. Pamela Rabe is flawless.
From Channel 5's website
Oh their twitter was wrong then, ffs Really annoying they just did it mid season.
Its been confirmed on Wentworth's FB page too!!
Still sat here waiting for a 5th season renewal.
Im so happy they have renewed for another season I personally think 12 episodes is not enough though!! lol I couldn't wait and have watched upto episode 10..haven't brought myself to watch 11 yet as I know whats going to happen omg am going to watch it with the last episode which looks amazing!
Somebody on my Twitter kept on and on tweeting about so I saw what happened and I'm UK pace Honestly even knowing it's going to happen isn't going to prepare me though!!
Gutting! Gutting! Gutted!
In a way I'm kind of grateful it happened as I don't know how I'd have coped if it was a blindside
Oh I don't know lol I didn't cope at all and I knew how it ended!! still can't believe it now
For those of you planning to watch at AUS pace, Season 5 starts on April 4th.
Just under a month away until season 5. I am SO ready
So cannot wait for this.. I wanna know when its on in the UK!!
Yeah they did, I am thinking I'll watch this at Aussie pace just in case
Channel 5 will probs shove it in a 1am slot on 5* or something Just watch it at the Aus pace!
Yeah, it was annoying when they decided to move it I probably will watch Aussie pace as I don't think I can wait Hope channel 5 don't ditch it altogether though!!
Dont think 5 will drop it, they did say at end of last season Wentworth will return next year although it will still probably be on a lesser channel but they did say it was due to fact it got more interest in catch up and demand then live
The excitement is building!
Omg everything in that builds so much hype, I hope Franky keeps out of trouble though as I like seeing how she develops on the outside!
So did anyone watch the first ep? I haven't yet but ive heard mixed reviews!! I stumbled upto a few spoillers though and from what I heard it sounds good!
I've just watched and I am not here for Franky being chucked back in jail, I liked the dynamic of her and Bridget being outside the prison and watching her develop in parallel with her friends who are still inside.
Enjoyed the new episode a lot. It seems like they're definitely setting it up for Frankie to be heading back to Wentworth soon. I'd imagine the women will look to her as the returning top dog, pitting her against Kaz.
It's very lazy. Getting rid of Bea, and oh, we'll just shove Frankie back inside to try and make up for it! I really enjoyed the episode though. Seeing The Freak f*** everybody up was insane
Yeah that scene out in the yard was brutal. Freak can fight!
Sadly I think Franky is the only one who could replace Bea as top dog, they wasn't much else they could do. I think it would probably be better for them to see if Kaz could really turn around the prisoners using violence to solve their problems maybe, it's a different avenue than the probable Franky being top dog and being aggressive and angry at her situation.
I just watched it..I really liked it..that first bit was sad and that fight scene was epic feel sorry for Franky though, just when her life was beginning to move forward boom she gets sent back to jail!! I hope that Allie and Franky team together and get revenge on The Freak once and for all and that Jake gets found out!
I kinda feel like we need some fresh blood. Just how many seasons are we gonna have of everybody out for Joan's blood? I absolutely adore Pamela Rabe, and I know we're only a couple of episodes into the fifth season, but I feel things could potentially turn stagnent very quickly if it's just going to be a case of everybody trying to take her down.
Couldn't agree more!
Villains have a shelf life, even ones as fab as Joan. The whole point of a villain arc is that it's satisfying when they get their commupance, for me it ruins it if they just run rampant ding the same things for too long.
Season 6 has been confirmed with 12 episodes due out sometime next year..its not even out yet in the UK and alot of other countries but am glad there will be another season
This series is really picking up after an iffy start, Sigrid Thornton is up there with Pamela Rabe as an actress, simply outstanding. Also, I'm glad to see season 6 confirmed!
This series is really picking up after an iffy start, Sigrid Thornton is up there with Pamela Rabe as an actress, simply outstanding. Also, I'm glad to see season 6 confirmed!
Yay for Season 6
This week's episode with Lucy having her tongue cut out was quite striking!
Not sure I want to watch this weeks episode!! lol
That was gruesome, annoyingly saw that it had happened on Twitter beforehand but as we said earlier in this thread, knowing something is happening doesn't always make it easier to watch
Yeah I came across it on Instagram!! no I agree, how far into it did that happen? I may skip that bit!
Erm I think it was like 35-40 mins, tbh though it does give you fair warning that it's happening when you know what's coming, you'll know when to switch off
Thats alright then..at least its not a sudden thing then! thanks..I dread to think what the season finale has in store after that lol
Oh god I was thinking the exact same, this whole episode kind of felt like how a season would end with a bang, I'm scared of what can be worse for the inevitable big climax in the finale
"You've licked your last vagina" AMAZING
WHAT an episode. The last couple of eps have really kicked into gear after a bit of a slow start, but it's now the Wentworth that I know and love
A big yay for season 6 too!
EDIT: As for the tongue cutting, you don't actually see it, but the aftermath is the most horrific thing - her stumbling out in front of everybody, blood pouring out of her. It's not quite up there with the vicious Bea/Frankie boiler room fight, or Joan killing Bea, but still, pretty brutal!
Nice to have a somewhat happy episode this time, in places at least - bawled my eyes out when Nash came for Doreen!!! My heart broke for Allie though, idk why i love her but she's a fave and I hate seeing her back into this spiral. I hope she's not the end of season death but I can see her commiting suicide
Starts Tuesday on 5* at 9pm so a decent timeslot
I caught up with eps 6 and 7 the worse bit of 'tongue gate' was deffinately the aftermath, when Lucy vomited all over Vera..those bits that came out the acting has been epic so far this season
Does anyone know where I can watch ep8? I can no longer watch from where I was now and don't think I can wait for the UK to catch up!!
GOOD GOD VERA IS SUCH A DUMBASS THIS SERIES.
Season 6 starts in AUS on June 19th!
Feels like we've been waiting for an announcement for years! I wonder why it's later than usual? So hyped!
Looking forward to this going by a few of the cast members, the filming has already started for season 7
Starts Tuesday in Australia with episodes airing the same week in the U.K. on the Saturday of the week so no big gaps this time around.
So excited for this though looks like a new chapter for the show now with a certain character presumably gone.
Amazing show though with an incredible cast and some brutal but brilliant fight scenes.
Predictions on whether or not The Freak's a goner? They've brought in some fresh faces so I actually think she's gone!
Nah that'd be too easy for such an iconic character, she will be back!
There is no way she's dead
So looking forward to this..I think The Freak will appear at some stage!
It's up online! Just about to watch. I am ready!!
Absolutely chuffed to see Franky get that happy ending.
I am SO rooting for Allie and Ruby Never thought I'd get over Ballie, but Allie has become a fave and it's nice to see her happy.
Not ready for Liz to inevitably die in season 7 which is pretty much confirmed to be the last
Also if Sigrid Thornton doesn't get an award for this season there is no justice. Sonia is an absolute psychopath but by god what an incredible actress.
No Bea/Joan/Frankie - I guess they really do have an end in sight now
Is seems too obvious for Vera's stalker to be Joan right? Even though I really hope it is because I really miss her! I really can't think of who else it could be :/
"Sonia's dead ya fat cow!"
And Liz...just...Liz.
That part with Liz made me laugh very loudly. She's been fantastic this season.
I know it seems predictable but it just has to be Joan and I am ready for her to slay us again. We need that conniving personality gap filled with Sonia gone.
I am so keen to find out who the stalker/blackmailer is!!
I am loving this series so far! Still as gripping as the first series was!
The finale was great TV.
I was initially a bit disappointed with the big reveal, as it's someone I'd mentioned in passing right at the start, but dismissed it because I didn't think it would be a big enough moment. But the way it plays out is pretty surprising.
And Rita....OMG. That was absolutely epic.
Season 7’s production is underway now and tonight a further 20 episodes have been confirmed after that!
Seasons 7, 8 AND 9? My week has been made!!!!!
An amazing show.
Rewatching from the start forgot how scary Jacs was in season 1!
Ferguson is my favourite character. Amazing actress and a terrifying yet strangely likeable super villain some of her one liners
What are people expecting to happen in season 7?
News of the extension of the show!
So the actress who plays Ruby has posted on Instagram that Season 8 is a 20 episode season.
I was under the impression it was two separate ten episode seasons we were getting after S7.
Unless they’re filming them all together the way they did 6 and 7.
Honestly don’t know what I’d rather!
What f'n brilliant news
Wonder when S7 will premiere?
I'm glad it's longer, before last season I would have thought it needed to be cancelled and didn't know how it was going to go without both Bea and Joan, but it smashed all expectations!
https://www.hiptoro.com/p/wentworth-season-7-release-pushed-to-2020-netflix-addition-even-later/
Apparently S7 won't premiere until 2020 with its Netflix premiere potentially not being until 2021.....what the actual f***?
hope that's not the case!
They started filming in Spring 2018 so I’ll be very shocked if it’s not out this year!
Yeah that would seem odd if it was so far away as it must be all filmed, can't see why they'd have to leave it :/ The US potentially having to wait 2 years to get it is bad enough but if we won't be seeing it until next year....
just seen may 28th premier date, assume this is for oz
Phew, much better than 2020!!
Seen a lot of fan rumours about that date but nothing from Foxtel. ffs!
5 Star did air the show the same week as Aus so if it does start then we should be good
Episode 1 of Season 7 is called Blood Wedding.
The actress who plays Linda posted that on either her twitter or her instagram.
Season 7 officially kicks off May 28th!!! HYPE
No idea when it'll be in the UK
Full trailer!
An Australian TV Magazine has appeared to confirm a main character dies in the season opener.
TV Week is the magazine.
No real spoilers in the article or any hints as to who it was.
So looking forward to this though a week to go!
I hope it’s Allie. She seems a little lost as a character these days.
About to watch episode 1. It's a shame no UK airdate has been announced, but I can't wait any longer!
June 8th I believe is the UK date. But I’m watching straight after BGT results!
So so excited my favourite show is back!
I really need to find more people who watch it nobody knows what I’m banging on about when I mention it but I’m so sure if this wasn’t on a big channel it would be HUGE.
Will post a review of episode one (without big spoilers!) when I’ve seen it
Well that death was err uneventful great comeback for this series though especially that last scene
Really enjoyed that opening episode.
As much as I adore this show the opening episodes are usually among the weakest in the season and they get better as they go on but for an opener this was easily better then the opening episodes of the last three seasons and also season two as well!
I noticed the guy who visited Marie was responsible for what happened to Ray. Poor Rita, that scene with Vera as well had my heart racing! Wondering how Vera will be in the series once she has her baby I wonder if she’ll be like S4 Franky where she done like half the season then came back full time the next one.
Loving the Marie character as well. A great villain in a very different way as well to what past villains have been. I think Rita will easily beat Marie in a fight physically but mentally Marie will have control over her. I definitely think Marie’s going to be the one inmate who finds out that Rita was a cop.
Only thing is... do the other inmates now know Ruby and Rita are sisters? Last season it was only Marie and Drago who knew.
Also with Ferguson I’m guessing that reveal will be a story for later in the season. I don’t think we’ll see her for the time being this season but I do have a hunch she’s not the body in the box.
Overall though a great episode.
Pretty much put my whole review as a spoiler as I didn’t really want to give away anything for those watching UK pace.
A promising opening though.
Yeah June 8th now confirmed for 5 Star
OH MY GOD THAT ENDING TO EPISODE 2
Guys just wait until you get to Ep 4!!!
Amazing season so far.
Anyone else think this is like S1 and 2 of the show.
f***ING HELL NO. EPISODE 4. NO.
SHIT ME THAT WAS AN ENDING
I have mixed feelings. It was jaw-droppingly shocking. But this will have such a huge impact - I'm worried we're going to really feel like there's a massive gap now. Kaz had really become one of my favourite characters and she was so central to it. So frustrating that she was on the verge of exposing that evil twunt too.
Who do we think did it? Surely it's too obvious to be Ruby?
I'll never look at him in the same light again until its been confirmed who it was
It could be, considering she was starting to write something beginning with M in the blood on the floor.
Also, this thread is titled UK pace but it seems like the majority of people who actually post here are watching it at Aus pace. So we really should be putting absolutely everything in spoilers. Unless the thread is split, or renamed.
The UK are only 2 episodes behind but yeah I get you though no one has confirmed anything for this series anyway and those that have did use spoiler tags anyway?
Oh I didn't know it had even started in the UK. I thought it was months and months later it came on here. That's not so bad then.
Yeah sorry about posting I think I was the first one regarding S7 but I did make sure I used spoiler tags for pretty much everything.
Is it ok to still post in here from Tuesday when ep5 airs as long as we cover everything.
Doesn't bother me I'm watching it at Aus pace! I was more thinking about anyone else that might venture in here, not expecting spoilers because it's titled "UK pace".
I can't wait to see the fallout of episode 4. It's weird, as I'm always hesitant at the start of a new season because I think they surely must run out of steam soon and it surely can't keep getting better. But they always find a way to shock us and keep us absolutely hooked.
They really do!
I think I love the show so much because they’re not scared to shock and go bold.
episode 5 I’ve noticed is called Ascension so I’m feeling like Marie is going to rise to top dog.
This seasons getting better and better!
Just wait until you get to episode 9!!!!
WOW
Hopefully gonna watch episode 9 later on. Hyped *.*
There was NO way that was Vera. I'm thinking somebody laid in front of her and protected her?
FRANKY!!!!! What a lovely surprise that was
One of the best episodes of Wentworth in the history of the show tbh. So, SO gripping!
Woo lord that episode took me through the wringer. I'm thinking he shot Linda, as there's no way they'd end Vera like that.
Linda or Boomer's mother tbh
SHIT ME. I was so shook at the end. The stream I watched had a trailer for next week and the finale looks amazing
Finale trailer:
SO READY
I really hope Marie survives into S8. I don’t think her character is done just yet.
And Rita being revealed an ex cop too without Marie there feels strange or perhaps Marie uses that as blackmail against her for protection amongst the women.
Another way it could be used if she discovers the news about Rita only to be killed by Rita or Ruby.
It could really go either way but she’s one character I want to see in S8. It would be good to see a villain broken down but still stay on the show without the support of other characters and see how that transpires.
I can't see Marie surviving tbh even though I kinda want her to stick around because she's a totally different villain from what we've had before. I do think they'll bring in a fresh villain for S8.
I know its been renwed for seasons 8 and 9 but I'd be so pissed if it finished at season NINE At least give it ten seasons!
EDIT: I think Vera may miscarry in the finale
IKR!
I’d love ten seasons too but the show will end on exactly 100 episodes.
Maybe if S9 is that strong they’ll be some sort of petition to carry it on again.
I think we might see characters like Chrissie Latham, Myra Desmond, Ann Reynolds in the upcoming seasons.
I agree that Marie is a different villain. I like that we’ve seen her have a raw vulnerable side that we’ve seen with her losing her son. She kind of does have a heart she’s not totally cold like Jacs and Sonia were. I feel next episode she might go totally evil though and be at her most villainous. I personally really like her character. She was my fave S6 newbie. I wonder if they killed her off when they thought it was the end but now they could bring her back? We’ll soon see but I think there’s another season from her to go.
There’s so much to be explored in episode 10 though
We have
Rita being revealed a cop what hasn’t been revealed yet
Marie being behind the killing of Rita’s almost husband what hasn’t been touched upon for a while
Kazs killer being revealed (that’s confirmed for ep 10)
Plus the continuation of the siege
Maybe some of those will be kept for S8.
Boomers story I would love to be a positive one but I’d miss her a lot if she’s not in S8. She works perfect in the show and because she’s never been amongst the lead stars she’s never been overused. Like with Franky I was happy when she left and I really hope she doesn’t come back as an inmate but I did like her cameo with Liz.
Liz though I think is due to exit the show next week . But she’s been fabulous this season. Her very best series actually.
Liz is going to take her own life in the finale isn't she?
I have a feeling Marie dies and then the true reveal in regards to who killed Kaz happens with whoever it is ending up being the main villain for S8
wtf at the cliffhanger
wtf wtf wtf
OMG EPISODE TEN!!!!!
Among the best episodes in WW History
And THAT FINAL SCENE
I didn’t see any spoilers leading up to watching it so I’m still in a state of shock and disbelief literally thought I was imagining things.
I need to watch it all over again to process it all and take it in so I’ll post more in depth when I’ve done that.
One thing I will say though is had that been the final ever episode it would’ve been an amazing way to go.
I'm still a bit what the hell
I'm in actual shock. The best EVER episode of Wentworth and one of the best hours of ANY TV series that I've ever seen.
I managed to avoid all spoilers...that last scene. Chills while I'm typing this. f***. I did not see that coming AT all.
The fact we have to wait so long for S8 is gonna be absolutely horrendous
EDIT: Yeah, like Jordan, I need to watch it again ASAP.
f*** man, this show needs more attention. It should be Game of Thrones level successful tbqh
omg I can't stop thinking about that episode
That final scene like wtf how are they going to explain it?
Such a soap master move and I love it
Definitely back according to IMDB are Rita, Ruby, Allie, Boomer, Linda, Vera, Jake and Will
YES AT RITA!!!!!! I wonder if this is the last we've seen from Marie?
NOW THAT IS HOW YOU DO A FINALE
I AM IN BITS
So many twists and turns it was incredible.
Liz and Boomer just broke my heart into a million tiny pieces. That scene will stay with me for a very long time.
I'm reading a lot of comments about how they included the Joan scene AFTER they found out they'd been renewed for S8 and S9 I wonder if they went into S7 thinking it was the last, especially with them killing off such huge characters like Kaz and Liz.
https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/tv/wentworth-finale-liz-death-celia-ireland-57329
An interview with Celia Ireland (Liz) about the finale.
From what I remember the show was actually meant to end at the end of S7.
They filmed it thinking it was going to be the final of the show. There was then a petition sent to FOXTEL or
showcase (like whatever channel it’s aired on in Aus) and the fans got behind it so much that they ended up renewing the show.
I think they reshot or refilmed certain scenes of the final episode.
Like the final scene is rumoured to have been one of them.
I also feel like Marie living could’ve been changed too. I think she might've died in the original ending.
But I do feel like Kaz might have been spared had they knew about the renewal before hand.
There’s speculation surrounding Ferguson that maybe she was Vera’s stalker after all last season and that she was behind Murphy tormenting her and the blackmailing in order to get money. Maybe she promised Murphy a share of the money? She couldn’t access her bank for her own money as it would reveal she was alive.
It wouldn’t shock me if that were true tbh maybe she dug her up? Maybes being on the street was a way of Ferguson meeting Marie too? I do feel like those two are connected and that Marie and Wills affair was an order by Ferguson and that they were both doing something for the other person.
We will see in a year!
OK so I watched the final 3 episodes again spoiler for those who haven’t seen it but another theory here!!
I feel now that maybe Jake is still in connection with Joan.
Remember the scene where he offers to pay Linda’s 20K debt. Well I totally didn’t think anything of it yet now I’m thinking how is he willing to pay that debt? He must have large amounts of money to spare and it’s never been mentioned how he come into money.
I’m sorry but what is this alternate ending and when can we have it?!
Lol that image
How are people thinking S8 is gonna play out though?
I still think of the last episode of 7 now like three weeks on!!
I’m so glad it was renewed but I’m also scared because 7 was so good. (I say this every season though tbh the only season what isn’t above a 9/10 was S6 for me and even that is better than the majority of practically every other show at their highest. This really is such an underrated show but I also think that’s why I love it more because I feel I’m not jumping on a band wagon watching it.
I really hope S8 isn’t like Bad Girls S8 which came at point that show also had its best season for a long while.
Obviously Wentworth has a stronger cast in general but the last episode in some ways was very final episode like in some ways and felt like an amazing way for the show to finish on a big high.
I don’t have Netflix but is there any way to watch this in UK?
Trying to get my friend to watch it and the site I used to use for last season starts at S6.
Is it on Netflix UK as I heard it’s only on US / Canada Netflix
Thanks for that. I’m trying so so hard to get my close friend to finally watch this!
I woke up the other day and kept thinking about Rita and how as of yet the inmates still don’t know about her past a cooper. I so sure that was gonna be revealed in the siege!
Also does anyone else still think Jacs was the scariest villain we’ve had. She only done one season but BY GOD she made such an impression. I think she’s the most evil WW inmate we’ve had.
I’m thinking of watching again from S1 just to see Jacs in action again.
I’m guessing it was always the plan in the early stages of the show when they didn’t know they were gonna get 100 episodes from
it that the first season would end with her dying. I think the fact she only done one season too makes her all the more iconic too.
She literally had no morals and no warmth though which made her so fun to watch. She had some great one liners too.
I think her and Sonia are the coldest characters we’ve had. With Ferguson we seen shades of warmth to her ever so slightly and we seen she is capable of some form of bond with people at times likewise with Marie she occasionally was human at times.
Was Jacs based on a prisoner character or was she just purely Wentworth?
Season 8 episode 1 is called resurrection
Go on Wentworth fox showcase on Instagram and then there’s a photo of Pamela Rabe / Ferguson. At the time I posted this it’s the first photo you’ll see.
If you scroll to the third photo there’s some scripts on the table. Episode 12 is also on there on that photo which appears to be called Requiem and episode 11 is called Rogue.
As well as that You can see both Ruby, Marie and Will in the photos and Danielle Cormack who played Bea is tagged in the post.
Leah Purcell who plays Rita has posted on social media that she’s in S8 in some form.
Don’t think she’ll be a main character but predicting she could be visiting one of Ruby or Allie. Maybe bc of her past she’s helping Allie with her charges now she’s set to be a lifer?
Long shot too but with Ferguson coming back and Rita being in that scene too driving past her maybe she could potentially bring her down. Ferguson will want revenge on Allie and Ruby is the perfect person to get in order to try and hurt her.
We didn't get a premiere date for S7 until April/May last year so expect the same for S8 this year
Starts in June apparently
3 long ass months to wait
With queen Ferguson back it’ll be worth the wait
June 2nd! Can’t come soon enough 😫
My s7 DVD come in the post last week!
Rewatching that soon! I might rewatch the entire run of the show tbh before the new series starts.
Re remind myself of how brilliant it is.
Why has it been pushed back
End of July? What a load of shit
Trailer tomorrow it seems.
Omg the trailer is now up!!!!! I am nervous / excited / not at all ready for this!
Spoilers for those who don’t wanna see anything (well to be fair this is just me saying what’s in the promo so if you don’t wanna know don’t look!)
Rita knows Ferguson! Her face when she seen that news clip interesting. Hoping we get flashbacks of when their paths crossed.
Lou seems badass and someone needed for this season.
Allie top dog!!
Marie wants someone killed..... my guess is she actually wants Rita killed not Ruby! Interesting to see Marie’s journey this season though I wouldn’t be shocked if she gets killed herself.
The main thing though FERGUSON!!!!! I cannot wait to this woman unleash her fury. The best actress in a tv drama playing a villain I have EVER seen she’s f****** outstanding.
GIVE IT TO ME NOW
It feels like its been YEARS since the last season. That trailer has me so ridiculously hyped omfg
Allie behind the stream press though!!!
For someone who was such a disloyal, spineless, desperate sapp for like 3 reasons she really did THAT. What a transformation.
For some reason I can’t see her being top dog for long though. She’s kinda dressed and styled like Franky though in that trailer.
I’m so ready for this new season though. It could go either way. I’m expecting Lou Kelly to be a great addition to the show. Expecting she’ll perhaps have quite a good heart and protective side to her as well as also having a volatile side to her maybe the closest to Kaz out of previous characters I don’t think she’ll be a villain like Sonia or Jacs.
I’m feeling like Marie will be connected to Ferguson and that’ll be a way she remains protected. Guessing she could also be pregnant too and have one of her famous dirt files on will. I was kinda in the minority as I loved Marie and thought character wise her character was better than Rita’s. But I really expect Rita to feature heavily in taking down the bad guys and becoming the shows final top dog providing she doesn’t become a tragic hero.
Also protect queen Boomer!
Any news on when S7 will be added to Amazon Prime?
Will it be shown on 5* ?
S6 and 7 were shown just a few days behind Australia I think but some of the previous series (well 1-4 I think) were like way later. They used to show the entire season before we even got episode 1 but now I think we’ll get them quicker.
I recently watched season 7 (no idea why it took me so long to watch it!) but wow, it's my favourite so far.. Seeing that and the trailer have got me hyped for season 8!
You watched 7 at the perfect time tbh Sarah as it’ll be fresh in your mind when 8 comes along. I’m currently rewatching and I think it’s amongst the best seasons. Definitely better than what 5 and 6 were and even they were great.
It just went WILD and those final two episodes were so dramatic, heartbreaking, shocking etc so many emotions at once. I think the final episode of 7 might be the best ever episode of the entire show so far.
5th August on 5Star so only a week later!
I’ve seen that there’s new titles for S8! The vocals on the theme have gone. It’s kinda like S1s opening but more updated.
The New titles
Love the new opening titles!
I NEED to know how Joan got out of being buried alive I wonder if it'll all come out in the first episode?
Jase I’ve spoiled something below incase you don’t want to know but I’ve seen a few tweets from people who’ve episode 1 so I’ve put them
In the spoiler tags below x
Those titles look so weird without Celia Ireland (Liz’s) name on them.
I’ve heard from some people who’ve seen episode 1 at a special screening that Joan is in the episode but you don’t find out how she got out the box in the series opener. I’ve also heard about a scene involving Boomer and the newcomer Lou Kelly.
Episode 8.1 has "leaked"...
I can wait until Tuesday evening
The season 8 premiere was very good!
Like a new era for the show (the final one ) but it was very strong.
I liked the new characters. Lou was fantastic just what we needed a new strong inmate.
The show just feels so weird without Liz! I’m so intrigued on where this season is headed.
Will Rita end up back in wentworth, Will queen Ferguson. Marie playing mind games and how will she get back into general.
OMG the first episode was so gripping !!
Reb is beautiful
What the f**k was this week's episode? Absolute filler, and didn't even mention the major cliffhanger from episode 2. It served no purpose whatsoever. If you removed this episode from the whole season, it would make absolutely no difference whatsoever.
I'm so confused.
Regarding episode 3... It wasn’t a bad episode but yeah it didn’t follow on. I expected Ferguson to appear at one point as two characters during the episode went to hospital.
I’m guessing though that because Ferguson will likely be a key part later in the season they didn’t wanna use her too soon and it keeps that suspense too for her to not feature in the episode.
Judy seems like she could be interesting though but Ann is definitely a villain now!
Episode 3 was the most disappointing for me out of all seasons.
Totally random, didn't follow from episode 2, the addition just seemed like completely the wrong time. It's like it was plucked from the beginning of a season?
I'm just surprised they went for such a filler episode when the seasons are already so short. I'm hoping that's not a sign that there's not an awful lot of story to tell this time. It just made no sense to set up what they did at the end of season 2, only to then spend a whole episode focusing on a hunger strike, that was over and done with and adds absolutely nothing plot-wise.
I found the episode so good
Spoiler below
Didn’t expect that to happen to Ferguson , thought she would get the baby !!
Not seen episode 3 yet.
As if it was Murphy that got Ferguson out of the box! Episode 3 was a bit of a dud but this week’s was much much better.
Yeah without spoiling much for those on UK pace episode 4 was the best one of this season so far!
OK! This season is getting better now.
Episode 6 (the next one for UK viewers but I watch at Aus pace is INSANE!)
Ferguson is brilliant as usual. But Marie Winter is blowing me away this season. Susie Porter is brilliant.
Marie is that good I’m beginning to feel sorry for her!
Reb still I cant deal, they are beautiful.
Susie is very good at portraying both sides of Marie’s character so that we can equally feel sorry for her and believe she’s on this arc of redemption but then they often show shades of the old Marie at the same time. Is she just playing Reb? Who knows!
Allie though.... you know how every season the show loses a big character. I think this season could be Allie! She doesn’t cut it as top dog and someone’s bound to take her down soon I think. Lou, Ferguson, Marie are all potential candidates and then we have Judy too who may or may not be a villain.
We saw shades of a darker side to Judy in episode 6 with how she was wanting to get Marie to talk....
Well that's it They finishing filming season 9 today. The end of an era.
I seen that post! Gutted isn’t the word
But at least it managed 100 episodes in the end that’s more than most shows get and I’d rather have quality series than have it end on a low point the way Bad Girls did.
I seen the post and looked at the characters / cast in it. I mean they may well film way out of sequence so what was the last day might not be what we see as the last episode but is it safe to assume those characters in that photo (who I won’t mention without spoiler tags) are in the final ever episode?
Also Ep 7 is on tonight if you’re an Aussie pace viewer.
Episode 7 was a good one!
Love the scenes with Ferguson and Lou and Marie.
But Judy is an interesting one now! I definitely think there’s more to her and there’s a dark side to her. I don’t know if I’m convinced she actually is a terrorist but she’s definitely potentially gonna be a top dog contender.
Oh I just saw one of the photos from the final days of filming. Massive potential but exciting spoilers...
There's one of Lou, with blood on her face and neck, with Rita (and her stunt double) behind her. They're just getting ready to film something. So, Rita definitely ends up back in Wentworth and it looks like she'll be taking out Lou while she's there.
Episode 8 (aus pace) is so so so good!
I am so worried for how this season will end though I have no clue at all!
Allie I think is a definite death possibility a scene in tonight’s episode foreshadowed a potential hanging.
Then there’s Marie is she really on this redemption arc or is she still a villain the closing scenes in tonight’s episode when she took the poison is she about to become a mass killer herself.
I’m thinking Ferguson will be well and truly unleashed in episode ten and that’s also when we will see Rita again as an inmate.
But there’s so much still to come. I’m unprepared!
SPOILER!!! (Of what the finale is called)
So the list of episodes titles we got were fake!
Episode 9 is called Monster and Episode 10 (the finale) is called The Enemy Within.
Ferguson must be back to her old ways in the final. But there’s also potential of the Enemy being Marie (with the poison), the new character Sheila, Lou, Ann or Judy! I am shook for where the final is heading and worried of which major character is dying as we haven’t that all season...
My worry is that Marie is dying at the end of 8.
Wait until you guys see the last two episodes. I managed to watch the finale and it was insane! I seen it before I seen episode 9 (the Aus paced episode what aired last night). It kinda was a bit confusing but having seen ep 9 now it kinda makes more sense.
The final scene of the season is brilliant! I can’t wait until you guys see it. I can’t say anything even as a spoiler I don’t wanna say anything just be prepared!
I found a link on Twitter of episode 10 from someone who had an AACTA membership.
There’s some links available still the one I used isn’t anymore but I seen one this morning. If anyone wants one I could send one via a PM. They’re not major high quality but they’re still watchable.
Sooo....
Is Allie dead?
Personally, I don't think so, since it would mean her seeing Lou would be pointless.
Allie actress Kate Jenko was on a photo that a crew member I think put on when it was the last day of filming. Whether or not it was actually the last filming day I don’t know but I think they were wearing masks on the photo.
I wonder if she’ll survive I mean it makes sense that she would but it almost felt parallel in a way that her being stabbed was similar to how we lost both Bea and Kaz the two main figures she had the love of her life and her true saviour. Part of me feels like Allie dying will benefit the final set of episodes because of how it’ll affect Ruby, Marie, Lou, Reb and Judy as well as the screws. But I really want a scene with Joan and Allie! We had a few with Kath and Allie but now Joan is aware of who she really is I want her to be one to get Allie!
Just seen the finale
Marie has somehow managed to get me to like her !!! What an actress.
The twist I def did not see coming !!!
The final 10 episodes kick off August 24th in Australia. It's gonna be an emotional one
Better watch season 8 then! Shame 9 will be the last season.. Don't want it to end
Tonight! 10pm! After 8 years we are finally getting it the same day as Australia
1 more episode and its all over forever
This series has been so good I don’t want it to end
Nice touch at the end...
He used to give me roses...
Well, congrats to them.. they ended it very well I thought.
And I really loved the credits. Infact, the credits were my favourite part of the episode ..
Fantastic series and I’ll miss it
Going back to watching this again from Series 1 Episode 1!
Still looking at buying the complete DVD but yet to see it for less than £99 for now hope it reduces down (or I get a pay rise).
