Pronouns: he/him Joined: 19 April 2011 Posts: 121,600 User: 13,530	Chart Commentary Securing not just one but two new entries this week, and the highest two nonetheless, Canadian superstar Shawn Mendes secures both of this week's two highest debuts. Lead single In My Blood heads straight in at #1, becoming Shawn's fourth #1 single. His first occurred in 2014, when The Vamps' Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart) climbed to #1 just a couple of weeks after the new mix with Shawn was released. He secured a solo #1 less than 18 months after, when long-runner Stitches finally climbed to #1 for a three-week stint. In My Blood arrives almost two years after Shawn's last chart-topper - Treat You Better achieved two non-consecutive weeks at the top. 2017 single There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back was unlucky to miss out. It was blocked by We the Kings' Sad Song, which had a much bigger week but dropped considerably faster than Shawn. Joining In My Blood in the top 10 is promo single Lost in Japan, which is new at #6 this week. It's Shawn's first track that wasn't a proper single to hit the top 10, and alongside In My Blood, it raises his tally of top 10 hits to nine. Lost in Japan has even now outpeaked one of Shawn's singles - his very first release, Life of the Party, only made #22, but every Shawn single since has made the top 5. His track Lights Down Low has been a massive airplay hit in the US, but neither the original solo version nor the single remix with gnash managed to hit the spot for me. Another version of the song, the Latin mix, featured Argentinian pop singer TINI (aka. Martina Stoessel), and that was remixed by Columbian producer Daneon (Daniel Valencia) to create the Latin Urban remix - finally, the song appealed to me, and this week, it's new at #7. All three artists involved score their first hit (although TINI was involved on The Vamps' #1 album Night & Day last year, featured on the track It's a Lie). In My Blood is certainly different from Shawn's other stuff so it's nowhere near as instant as his other stuff for me but it could grow Lost in Japan is different as well, not what I was expecting and quite creative! Nemo's album is the weirdest scenario - it's on the same record label as Will and I Don't Mind and both feature on the album, but he's not mentioned the album on social media once a really odd scenario and nothing as good as I Don't Mind but it's a nice album anyway!
