It has a very instant melody and is the sort of thing I could imagine being popular with younger audiences, partly due to the aesthetic, but it also sounds like the sort of thing that could potentially blow up on TikTok, it feels a bit hairbrush karaoke. It is dated but at the same time its not too dissimilar to something like The Kid Laroi. I think it will do ok to badly with the juries but come surprisingly high in the televote, so I do see it scraping in. Also perfectly feasible outcome. Maybe Im just reliant on the theory of national kitsch acts not translating. It feels like something Peter Kay could send as a parody. Semi 1 is generally a very, very tricky one to predict with a path to the final for nearly all acts. |

Eurojury, which is run by the Eurovoix fansite, have revealed Malta as their winner, full results in the picture.
Their USP however is the jury vote which tries its best to replicate the actual Eurovision jury voting which has shown up signs of potential surprises in the past. Their top 20 was as follows; Malta 286 Points Switzerland 257 Points France 219 Points Israel 210 Points Iceland 204 Points Italy 163 Points Sweden 127 Points Cyprus 123 Points Bulgaria 107 Points Romania 95 Points Finland 77 Points United Kingdom 76 Points Portugal 74 Points Germany 68 Points Lithuania 60 Points Slovenia 59 Points Azerbaijan 58 Points Ukraine 56 Points Austria 52 Points Estonia 51 Points Any of these twenty likely to be the surprise Jury winners? |

My final pre-rehearsal predictions for Semi One
01 Malta 02 Lithuania 03 Cyprus 04 Sweden 05 Azerbaijan 06 Romania 07 Israel 08 Ireland 09 Norway 10 Russia 11 Croatia 12 Ukraine 13 Slovenia 14 North Macedonia 15 Belgium 16 Australia Malta through to Sweden are the only ones I'd put down as certain qualifiers at this stage. I'd say Azerbaijan is the clear leader of the three Eastern bangers and Romania and Israel being such strong performers in EuroJury makes me think they'll make it as well with Romania as the token ballad usurping Slovenia and North Macedonia into the non qualifiers. Ireland I think has enough potential to make it even in a tough semi and I see Norway getting a bit of a Michal Szpak style low jury-high televote which will be enough to make it. Then it was literally a coin flip between Russia and Croatia for the last slot and I've put Russia in by a whisker as there has to be one of the fempop bangers that gets crowded out in the tough semi. Ukraine will be murdered by the jury and the other two ex-Yugos will be murdered by the televote. |

So happy that boring Malta entry is no longer number 1 in the odds
Top 10 now: 1 France 2 Malta 3 Switzerland 4 Italy 5 Iceland - Wow! This is growing up quickly 6 Bulgaria 7 Cyprus 8 Lithuania 9 Ukraine I'm still not too keen on this but it looks like this will be the juries 'darling' this year. 10 Sweden (I still can't believe with so many great songs, they decided to send this one. Really?). 13 San Marino |

I still think Switzerland will take the cake this year with only either Italy or Iceland challenging it. With Switzerland topping the jury vote and either Italy or Iceland topping the televote. I honestly think Iceland could feasibly win by being 2nd in both ΰ la Duncan but feel free to point and laugh at me when we wind up in 12th place

Sweden do seem to be falling down the odds a bit, could they even get slightly lost in the jury vote this year? I'd say Voices is a lot more generic than Too Late For Love and I don't really see them topping the jury vote this year. Iceland could be worth a bet at the moment.
I'm quite surprised to see France at the top of the odds, I just don't see it at all personally. I don't think it will quite be another Sognu situation for them, but I'd be quite surprised if they make the top five (feeel free to bookmark this and laugh at my hilariously out of touch prediction in a couple of weeks when they romp home with 650 points). |

This year is so open. I can honestly see any of the top 6 in the odds win but at the moment I'd rank them like this, in order of likelihood:
1. Switzerland 2. Italy 3. Bulgaria 4. Iceland 5. France 6. Malta Switzerland remains my pick to win as it feels like it's the most accessible for both juries and televoters and I don't think the "it's too much like Arcade" thing holds much water since Arcade won two years ago now and a lot of people probably won't even remember what song won even if they might remember Arcade as a song. Italy seems to have a lot of cross appeal too and might do the impossible and actually win as a rock song. Bulgaria's staging seems to be working and I've gone from expecting it to be the surprise DNQ to being a serious contender again even though I don't think the song itself is that strong. Iceland will definitely have broad appeal and could be a dark horse but I'm not really expecting it to do well enough with the juries to actually win but a top 5 is well expected at this point. France could be a winner but they're always overestimated tbh. I don't really get the appeal but the staging will be critical and could make a huge difference. Everyone I've shown the video so far has been bored by it though which is interesting because all the other winning contenders have at least gotten some fans out of my casual fan friends. I just don't foresee Malta winning with this staging unless they have something surprising & shocking up their sleeve. I think a lot of people compare it with Netta (for good reason) but Netta also had the crazy factor on the stage working with her. Here Malta's staging just seems to almost blend in with all the other songs with similar staging. I'd be very surprised if anyone outside this group of six were to win though. |

Out of those six I'm really rooting for Iceland or Malta. Although Think About Things was better, 10 Years is still great and I just love them as an act. Malta's song is great and so is Destiny herself, I hope the staging won't let them down.
I love everything about Bulgaria, apart from the song, which is such a shame as I was obsessed with Tears Gone Sober. I like it but it stubbornly refuses to stick in my head. I'm sure others will find it more memorable but it would be quite an underwhelming winner for me. France would be too. Italy would be an interesting one, even though I'm not mad for the song myself I wouldn't be against it winning as it would stand out. And Switzerland is definitely growing on me now, and will easily be a contender as it's so classy and emotional. |

Yeah I could see that happening. At least one of these "destined to flop" songs is going to surprise and qualify. I can easily see it being one of the Amens.

I really hope Australia does better than expected
I can see Malta winning. Switzerland/France - both could just get lost and end up low top 10 Agree with Slovenia - could easily take a place in the final ahead of Ireland |

After today, Australia are back in contention for qualifying, and I wouldnt be surprised if it knocked out most of the generic pop girlies (Azerbaijan, Croatia and Israel) in the process!

I like Portugal too, it sounds like a classic movie soundtrack song from the 90s/early 00s. It sounds like a qualifier and midtable in the final.

Sorry, I can't see the button edit in this forum. Just need to say that I don't need to be psychic to see UK and Spain fighting for the last place with The Netherlands coming close to complete the bottom 3. The bottom 5 could be complete with Portugal and Albania if they qualify.
