BuzzJack Music Forum _ Katy Perry _ FINAL RESULTS: Least favourite Teenage Dream track

Posted by: Josh. 11th July 2015, 09:01 PM

01. Teenage Dream

02. E.T.

So Buzzjack has spoken and Teenage Dream is your favourite track from... err... Teenage Dream! A few months back I'd have completely agreed but with every listen of E.T. it seems to grow more and more so I'd say that's now her best ever track for me, I think it's that bridge that just remains flawless. E.T. also has the best video of the top 2 here because floating around in space is much cooler than sitting in a car with the roof down. Teenage Dream is one hell of a pop song, simple yet infectious so a fantastic choice from you guys and definitely one of her best so yay.

Here are the full results:
01. Teenage Dream (14/33)
02. E.T. (19/33)
03. Firework (14/33)

I don't understand how you can like Katy Perry and hate Teenage Dream so much, it really doesn't stand out to me as a hateable track. Sure, you can think it's average or poor, but to actively hate it really confuses me because it's just a feel good pop song. It's not screechy, it's not in your face, or painful, or anything that I can imagining equating with 'hate' as opposed to dislike.

It's her best for me, so glad to see it win (especially when it looked like departing early at several stages).

I really don't get the hate either, Rob! sad.gif I don't understand what is meant to be offensive about it, to the point that people claim it's the worst song on the album, or even one of her worst tracks overall? Weird. It's a clear stand out in her discography.

'Teenage Dream' isn't a worthy winner for me. A really great song but bordering on safe and there's many much more interesting songs on the album. 'E.T' would have been a much better winner, but I agree with Ultraviolence that 'The One That Got Away' should have won; very surprised at it being as low as #7. 'Wide Awake' is FAR too high, her worst single for sure - 'Circle the Drain' should take its place.
