Hard to say really. I think even if it was a single it wouldn't do much chart wise as Tove Lo doesn't seem to get much chart action anymore. It would probably do well on sales upon release, like the Sigala feature did, but I wouldn't hold out much hope after that.

Tove’s last album was a pretty major flop (Only place it made the Top 40 was in her home country) but she’s had some major European/USA success with previous releases so at the very least even if this album is not a success or if the Kylie collab just remains an album track it opens up the possibility of Kylie being introduced to new listeners.

This is yet another feature that could be added to a duets/features/rarities album. Many features have come our way in the last few years so it would be wonderful to have them all housed on one album. Or make this the disc 3 for the Greatest Hits if it moves forward.

BMG said they had lots planned in the run up to Q4 - they didn’t let us down with the Golden campaign and looks like they are going to handle SBIT equally as good with this in the pipeline.
Sunshine Kitty will up the Aussie ante, featuring a collaboration with local royalty: Kylie Minogue, herself.
The pair met in Hong Kong at a charity gig, says Lo. After she worked up the courage to say hello to the pop diva, Minogue responded by suggesting it “would be fun if we could do something together”.
“I kind of froze: are you kidding me?” recalls Lo. "We started, like, talking and emailing. It was so f---ing weird.”
The pair's hectic schedules meant shared studio time was impossible, so Lo sent Kylie a song she thought “was her vibe, that she might be into and kill it”. The result is a track titled Really Don't Like U.
“It's about the feeling you have when you're at a party and your ex walks in with their new girl or guy, and you put all your hate on this new person that has nothing to do with it,” Lo explains. “You can dance to it but it has some melancholy to it... I'm so excited by it, it's really a big moment for me.”
The “sad banger” is an outlier of sorts on the new album and writing from a happier place has been “odd”, says Lo. But fans can expect her uncensored, irreverent tendencies when she hits the stage in Melbourne.

Time length for the track revealed as 3:45, which actually makes it the longest running track on the album. Co-written by Caroline Ailin and Ian Kirkpatrick who both wrote 'New Rules' with Dua Lipa. No news on who produced it yet but I guess it could be Kirkpatrick too as he produced 'New Rules' - he was also responsible for production on Jason Derulo's 'Want to Want Me', Selena Gomez's 'Bar Liar' and Britney Spears' 'If I'm Dancing'.

Jacques was #1 on NMF though, and added to Hot Hits! Really Don't Like U is 24th on NMF. Not a good indication that it'll get a strong push.

Hmm... on first listen I'm just disappointed that you can barely recognise Kylie's contribution - if I didn't know Kylie was credited, I'd have assumed it was all Tove Lo. Perhaps it'll grow and I just need to get used to it. It's certainly not the 'banger' I was expecting following that tweet, but the chorus could prove to be an earworm.

I wasn't quite sure what to make of it on the first listen, I think I enjoyed it. Kylie's vocal sounds like it's been edited quite heavily though.

It's not the easiest job to distinguish Kylie in the track but that's good: it's a Tove track and she has blended into Tove's sound really well. I'd rather that than a Tove track with rent-a-collab inclusion from Kylie that has been tacked on. It features on Tove's album and for that it works perfectly.

Agreed, this definitely feels like an authentic collaboration and Tove Lo's adoration of Kylie is heartwarming. I've noticed that younger artists that collaborate or meet Kylie always have such nice things to say about her, like Sigala for instance. It makes me happy that collaborating with Kylie is seen as a career high, despite what others may say about her relevance.

I've just realised that, unless I'm missing something, this will be the first music video Kylie's appeared in with another female artist (not counting 'Limpido' as I don't think Kylie and Laura share scenes). That's of course assuming Kylie and Tove Lo will be on set at the same time, but it seems to be they will be.
The song has grown on me loads. I agree it's a sound that would suit Kylie for the next era.
I can see this being a song that charts decently on the sales chart but misses out officially. None of the other songs from this era have charted on the sales chart, nor did anything from Tove's previous album, but Kylie's name will probably attract some sales attention. I don't think it's out of the question for it to be a hit as Tove Lo has experienced chart success before - she's one of them acts that is fairly well-known but it takes the right song for them to have a hit.

The song should get good streaming numbers when the album is released next week.
Tove is very active on social media and will promote album everywhere no doubt. She is in USA this week. I am hopeful she may do some UK promo too on the way back.

Tove Lo is releasing another song on Wednesday before the album.
its clever really. the 4 songs released will already be on playlists/being streamed ready for the album launch on Friday so will will get very good streaming points

I'm unsure if we'll be getting another video too, for now at least. I'm happy with the lyric video we received though and it's great that the reception has been all positive. I hope it gets a push on radio, although I can't quite remember if any of Tove Lo's songs this era were playlisted by Radio 1.

I think they could playlist the new one she's done with Jax Jones, but that's more his track that she features on.
It seems 'Cool Girl' derailed everything when it was going quite alright for her up to that point. Shame.

A deluxe/updated version of Tove’s album has been released this week as the ‘Paw Prints Edition’ - surprised they are still pushing ahead this era seeing as it’s been a bit of a flop, hopefully the re-push will give the Kylie track a bit more exposure though.

Pretty sure it's only available on digital platforms and I think Tove Lo is at the point where she's releasing music for herself and her fans.
'Really Don't Like U' still sounds so good, much more subtle than we expect from Kylie but it still hooks you in and sticks with you.

Surely it's more important to like the music rather than worry about chart success? Tove Lo doesn't achieve big chart success anymore (her collaboration with Jax Jones only made the Top 75), the Sigala track was never a single (maybe it could have been a minor hit if it was but probably nothing more) and The Vaccines collab was merely for a soundtrack. If you want to think of it from a marketing point of view, then these little collaborations do keep Kylie's name out there in between projects.
I'd also rather she collaborated with someone organically. I have no desire to hear "Jonas Blue feat. Kylie" or "Sam Feldt feat. Kylie".
