BuzzJack Music Forum _ Katy Perry _ Hey Hey Hey • Promo Single

She shot a new music video this month apparently it's for Hey Hey Hey according to a reliable VEVO Brazil advertising. http://portfoliodemidia.meioemensagem.com.br/portfolio/midia/VEVO/37316/oportunidades/Premi%25C3%25A8re+Katy+Perry/29642

She's also set to perform at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show (which will be held in China this year) according to Chinese reports.

ROULETTE THOUGH sad.gif

Posted by: Joe. 11th November 2017, 12:03 PM

Roulette is right there sis ffs

Posted by: Jonjo 11th November 2017, 12:16 PM

I'm fine with HHH tbh. 'Roulette' will do similarly to Swish Swish at this point I imagine, so it doesn't really matter.

A shame we won't get a video for 'Roulette' though </3

laugh.gif This!

I like "Hey Hey Hey" but I don't think it would work that well as a single, "Power" does that sound a lot better. Hope we get a video for whatever is next regardless!

THIS

The average listener won't know they were on her old album. This or Legendary Lovers! Both FAR better than everythin on her new one.

Posted by: Liаm 11th November 2017, 02:36 PM

I've come around to the song a little but I'd still never release it laugh.gif I doubt anything will do much but Roulette would have a much better chance. This and that are the only two I'd even think about releasing though.

Posted by: Envoirment 11th November 2017, 04:18 PM

Urgh. Roulette >>>>>

I can see this flopping hard. :/

Posted by: Joe. 11th November 2017, 04:25 PM

The production on Roulette is so sublime. It’s really attention grabbing. If anything could have saved her, it would have been that with a good video. Oh well.

RELEASE LEGENDARY LOVERS

Hey hey hey is a bad choice. It won’t do much at all. Roulette is probably her best chance of another hit from this era which looks increasingly unlikely now.

Tragic, like Witness.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 19th December 2017, 08:25 PM

The music video has been teased on her social media today.

Either way, I agree that she should have gone with "Roulette" instead.

Posted by: Mistletheo 19th December 2017, 10:04 PM

LMAO I literally thought that the first one was Christina Aguilera! What on earth is the look for this video?!

Madonna/Christina Aguilera/Marie Antoinette/Old Hag.

The music video will out tomorrow.

Posted by: Joe ho ho! 19th December 2017, 11:33 PM

Looks like another high budget affair. Bon and Chained were two of the best videos of the year so I have high hopes. Let’s hope it’s not another Swish.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th December 2017, 11:42 PM

I was hoping this wouldn't be happening. Automatically her worst ever single by a country mile.

not her character being called Joan :')

Posted by: JosephCarey 20th December 2017, 09:08 PM

Visually fantastic as per usual, an odd storyline but I enjoyed it in a barmy kinda way. Better than Swish but not a patch on most of her videos.

Also I don't get the hate for this song at all, some of the reactions here seem very OTT! It's definitely the best choice remaining on Witness (not that anything left is a hit really).

Posted by: RobBob 20th December 2017, 09:15 PM

Oh Katy, it's not getting any better, is it? sad.gif

Posted by: Joe ho ho! 20th December 2017, 09:56 PM

It’s not as bad as Swish Swish but it’s still pretty crap...mainly just boring. The Bon and Chained videos remain amazing.

Posted by: Candlelit Snow 20th December 2017, 10:01 PM

Why is this still happening?!

Posted by: MerryFlynnmas 20th December 2017, 10:12 PM

I didn't really like the video at all laugh.gif

Posted by: Envoirment 20th December 2017, 10:14 PM

I kinda like it, but kinda hate the make-up. I get what they were going for, but it falls a little flat?

Posted by: Cameron 20th December 2017, 10:29 PM

I can't at this being considered a better choice than 'Roulette'!

I love the video actually! My feelings on the song remain the same.

Posted by: Candlelit Snow 20th December 2017, 11:36 PM

Both the song and video are among her worst ever.

Posted by: CodySleighBell-y 21st December 2017, 06:55 AM

The aesthetic choice was a little... much, but like with Swish Swish, looking past that I think the intentions were clear. It's a piece against misogyny and sexual harassment, and Katy wanted to depict the lack of progress made towards stopping this throughout centuries. Was it a good message? Yeah. Could it have been executed better? Definitely.

I do think that this being a single and not Roulette is contributing to most of the vitriol in this thread.

Posted by: blacksquare 21st December 2017, 02:00 PM

Yikes

Chained and Bon had such great videos, but this is just shockingly poor

Posted by: Nick Jonas 21st December 2017, 02:13 PM

Stop it please, it’s making my ears and eyes bleed sick2.gif

Posted by: Atonement 21st December 2017, 04:04 PM

I like the song but the video is tragic. She needs to drop the 'comedy'. The video doesn't even suit the song. That rainbow dress with the eye and awful haircut makes me want to poke my eyes out.

Posted by: Jack 21st December 2017, 04:13 PM

She should've just stopped at Swish Swish. A mess. Move on Katy.

Posted by: Jonjo 21st December 2017, 08:27 PM

And just like 'Swish Swish' it seems I'm alone in actually loving the video! 😂 I love the aesthetics of it especially.

I know nothing else is gonna be a hit, but I would love if this somehow managed to become a UK Top 40 single.

She has got the singles spot on for this era, imo. I know people here (and seemingly elsewhere haha) don't like 'Witness' but I really like it. It's def her weakest overall, but there is something that keeps drawing me back to this album, despite not having as many "moments" as her past albums have had.

Posted by: Josh! 21st December 2017, 11:35 PM

It's nice to get another high-budget visual feast music video from her but she urgently needs to STOP with the terrible "humour" that she's trying to put in to her recent videos. I thought Swish Swish was bad but this video is just as physically painful to watch and impossible to not cringe drama.gif

Posted by: Liаm 22nd December 2017, 12:26 AM

Good lord this makes Swsh Swish look like New Rules by comparison, what an embarrassment of a video laugh.gif

Posted by: Nick Jonas 25th December 2017, 01:54 PM

Well the video has done absolutely nothing for this song on the charts across the world.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 26th December 2017, 11:15 AM

Well its been labelled as a “video for the fans”

Posted by: Candlelit Snow 26th December 2017, 11:53 AM

What a MESS

Roulette or next era now

Posted by: Neil 26th December 2017, 07:30 PM

I like the song but somehow the video makes me like it somewhat less! What a horrific video on so many levels.

Posted by: Hollyver 27th December 2017, 10:25 PM

I think with technology progressing the way it has the past few years they could have done a much better job with Katy's head at the end of the video. laugh.gif

Posted by: SamJudd 29th December 2017, 02:46 AM

This is officially her worst single yet, and that terrible music video just confirms it. Who in the hell thought that 'Hey, Hey, Hey' was even considered for a single release, it's album filler at best and no better than the other previous choice 'Save As Daft' (which was just boring and dire).

But this...I mean come on it's not even a standout moment on the album, just kinda there wedged between the title track and the amazing 'Roulette', either one of them would have been a better choice than this awful tripe. I reckon that Katy Perry herself is tanking her own career on purpose, for what reason I don't know, maybe she's had enough of all the pressure and wants to gain control over her own life.

Whatever the reason is, this is just kinda sad to see her career going further and further down the crapper, that she may not be able to recover from. None of the singles or album that she's released this year are up to scratch with her old material. The best song she's done this year is 'Feels' and she barely sings on that Pharrelll Williams does most of the vocals on that, and yeah it was a massive hit worldwide, but this won't turn things around for her as she barely has any presence on it, that credit mainly goes to Calvin Harris. At least though it gave her another UK #1, which was a nice surprise as I thought 'Roar would have been her last.

I've been a big fan of Katy ever since 'IKAG' and since then she's brought out some cracking tunes (especially the 'Teenage Dream' era). However it seems that after 'Roar' & 'Dark Horse;, her single choices and material just started getting worse and worse. Starting with that awful comeback flop 'Rise' which did NOT get anyone excited for the Olympics, then there was 'CTTR' which was standard at best and no way on par with her previous lead singles, then the 2 awful follow up singles which both pretty much tanked and neither of which created any hype for the album which was just as bad and also tanked, rightfully so 'Witness' wasn't very good at all.

I agree with some of these comments the only song left on there that would stand any chance of becoming a hit is 'Roulette', easily the best track on the album and should have been the 2nd single. But it looks like it's gonna be a 'Walking On Air' incident all over again, unless she somehow manages to get a 5th single release from this album, that will only happen if 'HHH' somehow manages to become a hit, but I very much doubt it unless some miracle happens.

I predict that this will probably become her first to miss the US Top 100 and in the UK become her first to miss the top 40 or even top 75.

Posted by: Joe ho ho! 30th December 2017, 06:46 PM

It was never a single. It wasn’t serviced to radio

Posted by: Candlelit Snow 30th December 2017, 07:01 PM

'Save as Draft', dire as it is, probably WAS a draft song, hence the title.

Posted by: Klampus 30th December 2017, 07:25 PM

It’s a draft album, the actual final album will be released next year!

Posted by: Candlelit Snow 30th December 2017, 07:30 PM

The album is sooo bad - it's just noise and trash dressed up as pop. It's one of the worst pop albums I've witnessed, up or down there with Funky Dory.

Don't come for Funky Dory, that's way better!!!

Posted by: Jonjo 30th December 2017, 10:17 PM

I've actually enjoyed the "minimalistic pop" approach from the (usually) big pop hitters this/last year (Gaga, Katy, Miley etc..). It's been a nice change of pace for them imo and I really feel 'Witness' is being slept on a bit too much tbh. Which is a shame. Underrated.

Edit: ofc none hit me straight away, but there were some things just drawing me back to them and I think it's the simplicity of them.

But yeah, I know I'm in the minority lmao.

Fair enough if it is for you but she’s even said it’s just for the fans because it was one of her favourite songs on the album. It’s not being pushed as a single. Plenty of artists release videos for songs when they’re not singles like Fifth Harmony’s Write on Me and Kesha’s Rainbow and Woman off the top of my head.

Yes. Only the video isn’t as good.
