Wasn't 'I Can't Sleep At Night' a cancelled single in the end? I always thought they were going to release it in late 2005 and had a video, it was on the release schedule and then came 'Perfection' and that was that.

I've appreciated 'Get Into You' a fair bit more recently.

Starting to recognise some of the titles as we head into the Top 20. Most of them I'm kinda impartial on (they're nice but not anything I'd return to) although 'This is the Way' is a bit of a bop.

Since Grant has sadly left the site, I've counted up the votes and will continue the countdown on his behalf.

Any hopes or predictions?

14 (12) 7.23 Perfection

Based on 'Turn Me Upside Down' by The Soul Seekerz (which itself samples Vicki Sue Robinson's 'Turn the Beat Around'), 'Perfection' was released as the second single from Club Disco. It narrowly missed out on becoming Dannii's 10th Top 10 single in the UK, making its chart debut and peak at #11. In Australia, it was the highest peaking single from the album, charting at #13.

Perfection was far from Perfection for me. I always found this to be bland and forgettable.

13 (**) 7.27 Holding On

The most recent of Dannii tracks to appear on the countdown, 'Holding On' was released this August, over a year after it made its premiere when Dannii appeared as a guest act on Culture Club's Australian Tour. 'Holding On' also features vocals from Australian X Factor finalist Jason Heerah.

12 (15) 7.27 Everlasting Night

Appearing higher than 'Holding On' due to the 11 that it was given, 'Everlasting Night' was Dannii's last single to be released in the 90s. It comes from writing sessions that took place in 1995 for what would have been Dannii's then-third album, however a contract disagreement with Mushroom Records saw the two part ways and the album didn't materialise (not until the demos were released on the album The 1995 Sessions in 2009). It was the theme to 1999's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and has remained a pride classic since.

11 (09) 7.73 Touch Me Like That

A collaboration with Jason Nevins, 'Touch Me Like That' was the final single from 2007's Club Disco. The song samples the melody of 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)', cited as one of Dannii's favourite disco songs. Peaking at #48, the song marked Dannii's last appearance on the UK Singles Chart and was excluded from the Australian charts for including too many remixes on the CD.

10 (08) 7.82 So Under Pressure

Lead single to her compilation The Hits & Beyond and later included on Club Disco, 'So Under Pressure' was Dannii's last Top 20 hit in both Australia and the UK. Despite its upbeat production, the song's lyrics have been said to describe Dannii's feelings surrounding sister Kylie's cancer diagnosis and treatment.

#10 for So Under Pressure? That's what I call underrated.

'So Under Pressure' is one of my favourites too. Would have preferred to see it higher but I'm happy it's Top 10.

09 (10) 7.95 Everything I Wanted

Follow-up to 'All I Wanna Do', 'Everything I Wanted' didn't have quite the same chart success on the official UK chart, peaking at #15, but was a hit with the clubs and earned her a second (and consecutive) number one on the UK Upfront Club chart. The music video wasn't filmed by a production team, instead Dannii was recorded by her then-boyfriend Steve Shaw with a handheld camera whilst they travelled through Las Vegas.

I wish I would voted now, I would have made Perfection second in my rate being Who Do You Love Now (Stringer). Perfection has excellent orchestral disco house production imo!

First time hearing 'Everything I Wanted' - probably not going to join my selection of Dannii favourites but it's still pretty good.

08 (06) 8.09 I Begin to Wonder

May come as a surprise that the first single from Neon Nights to leave is 'I Begin to Wonder', no thanks to a -1 it received! The song was originally performed by producer Jean-Claude Ades who helped Dannii rearrange the production and add additional lyrics. Upon release, 'I Begin to Wonder' became Dannii's best peaking single in the UK, taking the runners-up spot after falling 10k behind Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'. It generally remains one of her most loved by fans and critics, with the Dead or Alive mash-up being well-received too.

Shame that poster!!

I do think its overrated, especially since I heard the JCA original version a year before her release and I definitely prefer their version. Still a -1 is unacceptable

Scrap this.

That is Regina's fault. Damn him.

'I Begin to Wonder' would have been Top 5 without the -1 but it's at least not been cost of the #1 position!

(P.S I hope you don't mind but I've been added as a mod for the AF! I did want to message you beforehand but your inbox is full)
