Came 4th in semi-final 1 and repeated that achievement in the final too.

This song has a great build. Quite a grower.

Came 5th in 2015. Australia got an automatic place in the final due to it being, a the time, a once off opportunity for the country to take part in the contest.

Tonight Again is a fairly retro piece co-written by Guy. It pulled in 12s from Sweden and Austria.

Alabalanica by Aram MP3 is much better.

Tonight Again, the song I was rooting for in 2015! <3

Came 4th in 2013 and 3rd in semi-final 2.

I Feed You My Love has an unusual atmosphere for Eurovision with a seering vocal from Margaret, A High quality song pulling in 12s from Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

Came 2nd in 2018 and was also runner up in semi-final 1. Giving Cyprus its best ever placing.

Fuego is that rare type of song that is both immediate and a grower. Even without that incredible performance it would have been a knock-out entry.
It's also been the most influential entry of the past 3 years with multiple subsequent entries (national finals as well as the contest itself) adopting it's block-busting instrumental sections when the singer and backing ensemble dance for their lives.

The televote sent it into second place - from 5th with the jury - pulling in 12s from Belarus, Malta, Spain, Sweden, Ireland and Greece - one more than Netta managed.

Plus she did all that in heels.

Came 3rd in 2012 and 2nd in semi-final 2.

Željko had represented Serbia and Montenegro in 2004, coming second that year

Nije Ljubav Stvar is a typically seductive Balkan ballad and was something of a grower, getting 12s from Montenegro, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia - three more than second place holders, Russia

Came 4th in 2017 and 4th in semi-final 1.

Despite not being a very Eurovision type song and a vocal that wasn't amazing Blanche scored very well. Jury voted her 9th but televote put her 4th.

Came 6th in 2015 and 2nd in semi-final 1.

This is the highest placed 6th place finalist of the decade from a very competitive year. Still, it was Latvia's best result since 2005.

These were THOSE bops

Won the 2011 contest in Dusseldorf to give Azerbaijan their first and only victory. It came second in semi-final 1.

Running Scared came in the middle of a purple patch for Azerbaijan. They achieved five consecutive top 5 placings from 2009 to 2013, averaging 191 points per contest, higher than any other country in the same period.

It is often regarded as a weak winner and the vocals were not very strong on the night. It only got three 12s (from Russia, Turkey and Malta) - two fewer than Bosnia and Herzegovina, which came 6th, and one less than Italy which took runner up position.

Came 4th overall, having come second in semi-final 1.

It's fair to say that Belgium, while not surpassing its 2003 result of 2nd place, it has had a better 10s the 00s one, reaching the final 5 times and the top 6 3 times.

Of all the 40 songs in this list, this one baffles me the most. Somehow it got three 12s - France, Hungary and The Netherlands.

This is our highest placed number 4.

Came 3rd in 2013 and 3rd in semi-final 1.

No stranger to success, this was Ukraine's 5th time to grace the Top 5 in 11 competitions. Gravity exudes pure quality - it has the open anthemicism and lift of an Olympic theme song. Zlata pulled in 12s from Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Croatia.

Excellent.

Came 2nd in 2019. Came 4th in the jury vote and 3rd in the public vote.

After a break of over a decade, Italy came back strong only missing the Top 10 twice in the decade. While the live version is decent it doesn't exactly flourish on stage. The studio cut is phenomenal with one of the best middle 8s I've heard in a Eurovision song. The production is so detailed.

An outstanding entry.

Came 3rd in 2016. Topped Semi-final 1. Topped the televote in semi-final 1 and the final.

Russia has had a very strong decade. In the five period 2012 to 2016 it had 5 consecutive top 7 placings and had the highest average score per contest in the same period - and does so even after adjusting for the double points method of 2016. Higher even than Sweden, with its 2 victories.

The staging for You Are The Only One was spectacular as was the song. A strident and urgent song with a strong accessible melody, Sergey took 12 points from 10 countries in the televote - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine.

Came 3rd in 2014 and second in semi-final 1.

A serviceable ballad, Undo took the Melodifestivalen prize by just 2 points. In the final it got 12s from just Denmark, Romania and Ukraine - the rest of its Nordic and Baltic neighbours preferring to award their maximum points elsewhere.

Taking the Swedish entries for the whole decade, I feel that Undo is not one of the more memorable ones.

Came 2nd in 2013. Topped semi-final 2.

This is Azerbaijan's highest scoring entry ever - both in absolute terms and adjusted and the last time they made a top 10 appearance. It received 10 twelves - Austria, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro and Russia; two more than the winner.

I forget that Hold Me was a runner-up. I always remember it having been Ukraine in 2013 for some reason. It's a nice song but definitely not THAT great.

I actually loved 2013. A lot of songs that I enjoyed. The results were just somewhat boring with 4 of the top 10 being unmemorable and boring.
