Yes, it's me, back with a new name for the Christmas spirit tongue.gif (for those confused...) Rita this week holds steady at the top for a 4th running, in so doing giving her the longest-running chart topper of the year, a record that with just three weeks to go can't be outdone, so well done Rita! Not too shabby for a song I was lukewarm on at first listen. The top 4 remains static along with most of the top 10, only shaken up by rises to #5, #7, #8 and #10 from Taylor, Emeli, Goldfrapp and Anne-Marie respectively, with coincidentally what I think is each singer's second top ten of the year. LANY, Charming Horses and Linkin Park also rise this week within the top 40.

Highest new entry this week comes from Alan Walker, followed close behind by entries from HAIM and Marshmello. Other debuts this week come from Halsey, Evangeline, the Jezabels, Hurts, Charli XCX, Sean Paul, Odesza, Phoebe Ryan, the Preatures, Diplo with M0, and Nailah Blackman.

All new entries should be getting individual video links and a bit of commentary later on in the week (...if I get time >_<), so check back and that’ll save you having to search them out individually, I’ll update the thread title accordingly when those are done. Also, feel free to comment yourself! I like comments biggrin.gif

Hey Jupiter (gonna stick with your previous name lol biggrin.gif)

Just now listening to 'The Way Life Goes' remix, I'm very very fond of the original so I'm not sure if Nicki will be able to improve it for me, especially with her contribution being so brief. ohmy.gif Pleased to see it top 10 anyway in either form, along with Anne-Marie's underrated single (my favorite of hers so far!), my favorite song I've heard from Taylor's album, two excellent tracks from G-Eazy and Clean Bandit, and of course Rita!

Giving 'Higher' a first listen and it sounds good!

Hi!

I Miss You so close to number 1! ohmy.gif Wonder if it could snatch it?
Nice to see you charting the Illenium remix off Silence, it's not a patch on the original for me, but it's a very strong remix music.gif
Quite like the Hook N Sling Remix of Bad At Love, but I prefer the Dillon Francis one!
Get It Right and Across The Room are both amazing new entries too wub.gif

Great Chart!

Hello Jupiter!
Good to see Rita still holding on to the #1, but I'm even more happy that "I Miss You" is at #2!
Great gains for Anne-Marie and Linkin Park!
And the new entries are great too, especially Alan Walker, HAIM, Marshmello, Hurts and Sean Paul & Dua Lipa!
Great charts overall!

Thank you folks!

Here are the links for this chart's new entries, starting from the bottom this week:

The Preatures score a second top 40 this year and fourth total following entries in 2014 and 15.

Phoebe scores her first entry this year after a string of disappointing singles. She's previously charted in 2014 and 15 as well.

Odesza also hasn't made an appearance since 2014 - I'm seeing a trend here...

Get It Right marks Diplo and M0's second collab - under those names, anyway. It's the Danish singer's fifth charter this year including features, however, debuting at #31, it's a far cry from the chart-topping peak of the duo's previous collab XXX88 in - can you guess which year?

'Boys' didn't end up catching on with me, but luckily I'm still working my way through Number 1 Angel - just in time for Charli's new EP coming out. Her collaboration with M0 is another of her impressive seven total charters this year for me, making 2017 by far XCX's most successful year on my charts. This is also CupcakKe's chart debut for me.

Sam Feldt's remix of No Lie greatly improves the original tune (which I wasn't the biggest fan of) and gives Dua Lipa yet another top 40 this year following a string of top tens and the top 20-peaking New Rules, actually her third lowest charter for me this year.

Wherever You Go becomes the second charter from Hurts' most recent album, following the #11-peaking Hold On to Me.

The Latin-inspired Baila Mami gives Nailah Blackman a chart debut.

Hook n Sling's remix of Bad at Love finally gives Halsey a second charter from her sophomore album, which still strikes me as more of an Artpop moment for the singer than the revolutionary pop album she was appraising it as before its release.

Newcomers Evangeline finally chart this week after having two tracks flitting between my B- and C-lists since about August. Write About is a nice little bop and deserves its top 20 debut.

A nice new charter for the Jezabels with The Others. It's their third year running to chart a track, following top 20s in 2015 and 16 and a chart topper in the former year too, which I won't name now as it's a BJSC potential of mine for the coming year.

Liking this one, Illenium's remix of Marshmello and Khalid's Silence. The original is a bit basic for my tastes tbh, although I like some of Marshmello's past work and the current tracks with both Selena Gomez and Migos. This is Khalid's second charter for me this year following the #10-peaking Calvin Harris collab from this spring. It's an impressive fourth charter for Illenium this year, too.

A fifth entry for HAIM here from their sophomore effort of the same name. Previous charter for me - and their newly-announced new single - Nothing's Wrong topped my chart in October, while their three other releases this year landed at #9, #8 and #3 respectively. This one's only bound to rise to match them too.

And the highest new entry this week comes for Alan Walker, thanks to whoever played it in plug recently because I missed it, or maybe it just didn't catch me when it was originally released earlier this year. Rectified now!

Til the next week's chart wink.gif
