Not sure how much of a response this will receive on here, but are there any fans of the iconic 90's/early 00's US sitcom 'Frasier'?

I have always been a casual fan, but have been really getting into it recently and am considering investing in the complete collection to fuel my viewing pleasures.

A stellar cast of characters, and a fairly high-brow comedy alongside the usual slapstick US stuff that is so popular. Huge during its run and has retained a much loved legacy, are you a fan? I haven't seen enough to properly rate it, but from what i have seen it's hilarious and warm. Must watch it all through~

I watched it all a few years ago and it's VERY, VERY good, though S8, 9 and 10 are definitely a bit of a low point. S11 was a great return to form and the perfect time to end. SPOILER AHEAD: once Nils and Daphne get together in S8 it loses a lot of its comedic spark and wit, culminating in the PLAGUE that is her family and worst of all her f***ing brother that sticks around for far, far, far too long.

The best OF COURSE is Bebe Glazer. SHE HAS NO SCRUPLES, NO ETHICS AND NO RELFECTION.

My favourite tv show of all time, the build from season 1 through 5 is insane. Daphne becomes a beast of her own. Jane Leeves has incredible/the best comic timing. I will most a more detailed perspective soon with favourite episode countdown.

THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD

I actually think S6 and S7 are the best, though the improvement from 1 to 5 is IMMENSE

Following your glowing reviews, i have just invested in the complete collection from Amazon. Really good price and the latest collection is apparently packaged very well too.

Excited to start it from the beginning and see how it flows as a whole series. I've only ever seen sporadic episodes here and there before.

I can't sum it up any better than that, but add the quality of writing is terrific at it's best, a classic series

I got the boxset and am currently plowing through it. The Pilot episode has instantly become one of my favourite Pilot episodes for a sitcom.

Really enjoying it so far biggrin.gif

Watched the pilot. It was nice enough. The suicide actress story was amazing though. And Daphne is incredible!

David Hyde Pierce is an absolutely brilliant physical comedian. Genius. wub.gif

Intrigued to see how a Frasier reboot would work. Looks like it’ll be set in a different City, hopefully most of the main/recurring characters will return. I’m sure they’ll pay a nice tribute to John Mahoney as well.
