Madonna plans to release the video for third Rebel Heart single 'Bitch I'm Madonna' tomorrow, directed by long-time collaborator Jonas Ĺkerlund and featuring a star-studded line-up of Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Diplo, Miley Cyrus and, according to rumours, Beyonce.

Many 'insiders' and articles are hyping it up to rival Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood' video whilst Madonna fan sites and forums are speculating whether it can be a viral hit and boost the album.

What's your thoughts? Do you think 'Bitch I'm Madonna' can save the era? Will it get people talking? Will it encourage TV airplay and perhaps radio? Will the album rise the charts?

Or will it's effect wear off after a week or two? Will it even have any effect? Are Madge fans just absolutely barking mad?

No, it won't save the era at all. It's abysmal and should never have been chosen as a single. Given ghost town didn't do much and thats the best song on the album, I can't see anything turning this era around now.

I think 'Bitch I'm Madonna' can at least manage to be a top 20 hit in the UK due to the video itself having a fair amount of hype. I'm sure it will be her biggest hit in the USA in a fair while as Miley, Katy, Nicki Minaj etc will all share the video.

I'm not sure how much it will do for the album but it wouldn't surprise me if Capital ended up supporting this.

Edit: The song is apparently not been sent to radios.

Streaming of the video will ensure a big first week on Billboard at least. But I've got no idea how well it will do beyond that.

I think it will get top 75 or so because of video hype, and that will really piss me off seeing as 'Ghosttown' couldn't.

It'll do well enough (for a third Madonna single) in the US, ie. if it troubles the Hot 100 we are talking major success. In the UK I think lower top 100 the same as Ghosttown, though perhaps a week top 75 would be doable if they get it right promo wise and radio play it for the lolz. In terms of helping the album? LOL NO

I'm trying not to have any expectations for it, but, on the one hand, I see these names such as Beyonce, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus and think how can this video not be talked about and in turn be a hit if people like it, then on the other, I look at the success of the previous two singles and think that, even if this does gather attention, I can't see it taking off.

In terms of impact on the album, I don't see why it wouldn't see it back into the Top 100 for a week but tbh, the only way it's going to get any lasting effect depends on if there's any further support for 'Bitch I'm Madonna', whether it be TV play or performances (but either Madonna's just keeping everything hush hush or she literally doesn't have any plans to promote it).

Tbh Capital is the only major station that would play it and that's absolutely not a guarantee, plus I don't see how they'd make a radio edit without it just being called 'I'm Madonna', which, as I've said before, would give people no hope in seeing any humour/tongue-n-cheek-ness in the song.

If indeed Katy Perry, Miley and Beyonce are in it - then I can see it being a top 40 hit in the UK.

No. I don't think it'll be a hit in its own right but the video might go viral.

Oh Madonna has just posted this on Twitter, so this confirms the names?

Yeah I noticed that too! I knew all but Beyonce had apparently been confirmed (can't say I saw Madonna say anything on Twitter) but good to see confirmation for all.

Going by her tweets, it seems the video is still being edited. drama.gif

Yeah I saw 'still making it perfect'. Which means it's unlikely to come today..? sad.gif

I really hope this can have a big effect. Madonna is known for reinventing herself and coming back, I don't want to get my hopes up too much but the names in her video are much bigger than those in the Bad Blood video..

Yeah, but Taylor Swift ALONE would still have about 1000 times the impact of this. Madonna needs to reinvent herself for sure, but that means leaving stuff like this behind. She's been chasing the youth audience for the best part of the last decade and it worked to begin with because she brought amazing tunes with her and then hitched her wagon up to the biggest producer at the time. Now she needs to realise it's just bringing less and less every time. There's a reason Ghosttown was so well received, because it was at its heart a GOOD SONG, a good Madonna song too. Eventually she will make that one song that can bag her a huge hit, but at this stage it's ALL got to be PERFECT for that to even be a possibility and this is just not.

There's nothing to suggest that Madonna ever will have a huge hit again to be fair. She had her last one in 2008 and it's difficult to bounce back from three underwhelming eras commercially. She's not getting any younger too and we know that we live in an ageist society.

Katy Perry, Beyoncé are possibly the biggest names in music along with Rihanna and Taylor Swift. Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj are slightly lower tier but massive stars all the same - if they all have prominent features I'm sure this could have a big effect. Rita Ora though? I know she's big here but I thought people only kinda knew about her in the USA?

Does this seem a little desperate to you? I mean, the Miley feature I understand because they did perform "Don't Tell Me" together at one point last year and Nicki (and Diplo) are on the track.

EDIT: rotf.gif @ Taylor and Katy being in the same vicinity, let alone video.

Logic would suggest that it is becoming less and less likely, yes, but lest we forget that prior to Believe Cher had not had a hit of any magnitude for a good few years, a different time, a different artist yes, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility by any means.

Maybe. But if Madonna can get a song in the charts again, I don't care too much. It's a fun song too.

It's awful and doesn't show Madonna in the dignified light that she should be aiming towards, so probably not. I wish she'd released the demo of Rebel Heart, which is the best song she'd done since Confessions for me.
