BuzzJack Music Forum _ Movies and Theatre _ 'Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle' | 2017

Looks like it could be fun in a 'Goosebumps' sort of way. Looking forward to it. A lot of people seem to think it'd have been ok if they just didn't have the 'Jumanji' name tagged onto it... which I disagree with, because had they not used the 'Jumanji' tag, it probably would have got backlash for basically being "a modern day Jumanji". laugh.gif

The International Trailer is better!

It looks awful and nothing like Jumanji, which was a dark fun but scary film. Shame.

I did enjoy how the characters didn't really match up to the "avatars" laugh.gif but it looks a bit generic action comedy which The Rock seems to do a lot of these days.
Although always nice to see Karen Gillan getting big rolesin movies.

I watched the original Jumanji for the first time today. What a great film it was IMO; a lot of fun and a decent kids' storyline too. I don't think this 'sequel' looks like it'll share much in common with the 1995 film, but I'm looking forward to it regardless. smile.gif

Official second trailer:

I know this is probably going to be terrible but I have a feeling that I might end up enjoying it. I laughed out loud at the gag at the end of the trailer just for how unexpected it was laugh.gif

Saw the trailer in the cinema for the first time today and tbh I was sold as soon as Nick Jonas appeared. But I actually liked quite a few of the jokes so suddenly hyped for this laugh.gif

Saw this last night, really enjoyed it! Found it kind of cheesy to begin with, but once it got going into the game it was hilarious. Jack Black was amazing

This was surprisingly good. I laughed a lot, and I did NOT expect to like it at all.

The concept lends itself to loads of sight gags but actually they didn't overdo it and a lot of the funniest bits were subtle. The facial expressions from Gillan had me creased at times.

Really, really good, harmless fun. With a nice little nod back to the original thrown in there too.

Really enjoyed this! cheer.gif

That was very funny, but it was when she put it into practice that I really laughed. She was the highlight of the movie.

I heard the Rock was AWFUL and Karen Gillan stole the show? Even to the point of Chinese reporters askin aboot Doctor Who laugh.gif

The Rock is The Rock. Not a great actor, but one of the most watchable and likeable actors out there.

TBF all the cast were pretty good. I was shocked at how I didn't see Nick Jonas as Nick Jonas and actually as Alex laugh.gif

This film is doing so much better than I expected (I was also surprised at how good it is), it’s made 26m in the UK Box Office in 3 weeks and even more shockingly it dethroned The Last Jedi (after just 3 weeks at the top spot) from the top of the chart last weekend! ohmy.gif

Well I thought The Rock was good enough. The teaching of Karen Gillan's character to be sexy was a bit cringeworthy imo but funny whenever she overacted it out.

There wasn't as much action/stuff happening as the original Jumanji sadly so I still prefer that. Still enjoyable, give it 3 stars in the rating (bearing in mind I am quite harsh when it comes to film ratings).

The Rock was just fine laugh.gif

Agree with this!! I knew it was a part of the film but I didn't realise just how fancy Jack Black's character being a girl would be, he had me creased on numerous occasions. The action was lots of fun too and even Nick Jonas slotted right into the film and didn't seem out of place. Glad this is doing so well at the box office because I really thought it was going to be a massive flop to be honest... ohmy.gif

Reviewers/ bloggers don't like this, but everyone I know who have seen it have loved it.

Loved this - it's great.

I thought the 4 main cast members all worked brilliantly together, there was great chemistry. The Rock was The Rock - he's about as bankable a main star as you can get in this current era.

This is hilarious, I saw it at the Odeon and I really enjoyed it!

I loved Jack Black's character!
