I like them and I like this
Moved to indie forum.
I like this more than anything from their first album.
Gosh, I love 'Supernatural' so much.
Is anything gonna happen with it, or has it just fallen by the wayside already?
Their second album is due out this spring and the lead single, which is entitled "In Control" and it features Popcaan, will be released next Friday.
From http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/magazine-feature/6842832/alunageorge-you-know-you-like-It-success-new-music:
OH. MY. GOD.
Been waiting nearly 3 years for this
Body Music is one of my favourite albums ever and by the looks of things production-wise, the follow-up is going to be amazing too!
Cannot wait for this new single next week.
Single cover
Why draw even more focus to Aluna, I don't really understand it. Hoping George doesn't mind too much in that case - a similar thing happened to La Roux by the sounds of it and now La Roux is just one person.
Still gutting that 'Supernatural' did nothing, it will take a lot for this to beat it for me.
A snippet of "I'm In Control" was uploaded on their social media sites and you could listen to it https://twitter.com/alunageorge/status/689495175979241472.
"I'm In Control" will receive its WW premiere on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show tonight.
Hideous art.
As previously mentioned, the track received its WW premiere as the Hottest Record on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show today.
What an utter mess!
It's a mess, but I really like it!
Undecided.
I really like what it's trying to do but I'm just not convinced it actually does it. It's certainly no 'Attracting Flies' is it.
this is f***ing incredible!
if released in summer it's easily be song of the summer
I LOVE this. Way better than anything they've done before.
I've always found AlunaGeorge so intriguing. This is awesome.
yeah this is brilliant!
completely come round to this, can't stop listening
A very fun single clearly taking plenty of cues from the sorta Major Lazer/Diplo/DJ Snake sound (which I was half-expecting after Snake's remix of You Know You Like It got big). It maybe doesn't reach the luscious heights of 'Your Drums, Your Love' or 'You Know You Like It' but nonetheless i'm excited to see what else they've got in store for this era!
"I'm In Control" (Music Video)
http://www.universal-music.co.jp/alunageorge/products/uics-1308/ is reporting that I Remember will be out on April 29. Also, Aluna mentioned a month ago to Matt and Alex's triple j Breakfast show that the title track is their collaboration with Flume! (around the 1:53 min. mark).
The title track will be the Hottest Record on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show this Wednesday, so it's safe to say that this will be the next single.
Looking forward to hearing this!!
I hope we get some album details this week then! I've got Body Music on again now and it's still sublime nearly 3 years on
We should do with the second single being HR - prob either a July or Sept release!
Really excited to hear what else they deliver this era as 'I'm In Control' is one of my songs of the year, can't get enough
I Remember has premiered. Listen http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03qytlf.
Fabulous
It's amazing!
Actually, AlunaGeorge performed it during SXSW and Ultra Music Festival and it's really good. I need it to be released ASAP and I think it may be this Friday or when https://twitter.com/alunageorge/status/719549448771268608 be unlocked.
As a side note, I really like the album's artwork.
The track is wonderful...reminds me of Body Music a bit (the song)
I love it so much
Can't see it having the hit potential that 'I'm In Control' has but a lovely track all the same. Sounds ready-made for remixes.
so is the album still out in two weeks time (Apr 29)? in the interview with Annie Mac sounds like it's out later in the year but not now...
Ooh, this is quite good
"I Remember" (Music Video)
Artwork:
Out on iTunes.
amazing song
but wouldn't it have been better to wait a bit, I mean now that I'm In Control has been added to Capital
AlunaGeorge are on fire this era!!
'I'm In Control' and 'I Remember' (and 'Automatic' with ZHU if that counts) are all great, wasn't expecting such consistency from them.
Yeah, I enjoyed bits and pieces of the first album but I feel like they have definitely upped the anti with this new era so far.
For some reason I didn't expect consistency.
New song "My Blood" available on spotify!
Quite like it too
Ah so this is in the ZHU produced track!
My Blood is Zane Lowe's hottest record on Beats1 tonight.
"My Blood" (Music Video)
'My Blood' is incredible.
Another 10/10 song
All three songs I have heard have been real moments for me, I really never expected to like them that much! 'Attracting Flies' wasn't even that great for me!
The title track has been playlisted by BBC Radio 1.
As a side note, looks like the album is coming out on September 9 according to http://playiga.com/track/alunageorge-fpopcaan-im-in-control/, which is in charge of the radio promotion from AlunaGeorge in the US, as a part of Interscope.
Shame the release date is so far away now but judging by the quality of what we have had so far, it will worth the wait.
A new track will be premiered as the Hottest Record on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show this Tuesday.
From http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07jwlxf:
I see we have MIA on Thursday too :0

Is this album going to include any bad tracks?
I am absolutely adoring this again. The rap is incredible and that chorus is so catchy.
Sounds like it has potentially even more hit potential than 'I'm In Control'?
As the albums lead single I hope it does better commercially than the previous two!
Absolutely love this. Cannot WAIT for this album, shaping up to be one of the albums of the year.
Out 16/09/16
1. Full Swing (feat. Pell)
2. My Blood (feat. ZHU)
3. Not Above Love
4. Hold Your Head High
5. Mean What I Mean (feat. Leikeli47 & Dreezy)
6. Jealous
7. I'm In Control (feat. Popcaan)
8. I Remember
9. In My Head
10. Mediator
11. Heartbreak Horizon
12. Wanderlust
Another great single, definitely shaping up to be a VVV good album.
So 'Mean What I Mean' might be over-taking 'I'm In Control' in my affections now which is crazy considering the latter is one of my favourite songs of the year.
Both will stay in my top 10 year end list for certain though. Crazy quality, especially given I was never really here for Aluna much before this era started. I am so willing MWIM to become a smash, it really gives me 'Sorry' by JB vibes. Both the female raps are brilliant also, especially the first of the two.
"Mean What I Mean" (Audio)
I hope there will be a deluxe version of the album and if this indeed happens, it will include "Supernatural" to be honest. Sad to see that it didn't make the cut, although I was sort of expecting that.
Mean What I Mean video is coming tomorrow!
"Mean What I Mean" (Music Video)
• You could watch the BTS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbLTJqWnHP0.
I like 'Mean What I Mean' more than anything else I've heard from this era so far!
Indeed, i'm also loving Mean What I Mean
I like it but it does sound like the same riff as I'm In Control!
they have a similar something I agree but ultimately it's an incredibly idisyncratic pop songs with SO many good moments, both raps are pithy as f***, excellent pre-chorus, middle 8 etc...it all fits together so susinctly.
oh and that breakdown; one of the songs of summer
Really can't get enough of Mean What I Mean right now! This and I'm In Control are by far the best things I've heard from them.
Mediator is out today. Been loving since the Glastonbury performance!
'Mediator' is the only track so far I'm not completely in love with, but then again you can't have a full album of 10/10's can you??
10.0 I'm In Control
09.0 I Remember
10.0 My Blood
11.0 Mean What I Mean
07.5 Mediator
'Mediator' still has a nice vibe though and definitely feels album track worthy. Still shaping up to be one of AOTY.
the songs this era are just unbelievable
i mean what I mean is a solid 11/10
I'm totally ready for this.
not above love is 💯
they're doing EVERYTHING right this era mygod
OMG at 'Not Above Love'
Absolutely massive again, she keeps on doing it.
Full Swing
In My Head is that bop
great lil album~
first listen rate:
08.0 Full Swing
10.0 My Blood
10.0 Not Above Love
09.5 Hold Your Head High
11.0 Mean What I Mean
08.5 Jealous
10.0 I'm In Control
09.0 I Remember
07.0 In My Head
08.0 Mediator
08.5 Heartbreak Horizon
08.0 Wanderlust
What an album
Fantastic album on first listen! Jealous is stunning.
Need to give the full album a listen but oh my LORD 'Full Swing'. What an opener.
'mean what i mean' is top 5 year material, beyond incredible...going to listen to album later, so f***ing excited cheers
Album is very good on first listen!
Can't get over how good this album is. I'd loved everything I'd heard from it, but I really wasn't expecting the whole thing to be so strong.
Not sure I could rate it just yet because it would probably be 10s throughout...but definitely one of the albums of the year (in what's proving to be an incredibly strong year for albums).
Absolutely loving the 'Breathe'-esque production on 'Not Above Love'
Went and bought this today, I wasn't keen on the debut album but I'm In Control and Mean What I Mean got me hyped for this one, and it really delivers, such an improvement album-to-album
i'm so excited to sit down and listen to this. i've heard nothing but good and all the songs so far have been 11s
'jealous'
Not Above Love, Hold Your Head High and Jealous are my favourites beyond the singles I think so so good. Although speaking of singles, I Remember the song still isn't really clicking, possibly my least favourite on the album?
I never listened to 'Body Music' because I was only really keen on 'Attracting Flies' and the fact that they re-released 'You Know You Like It' again didn't give me much hope that the album would be good. I've just listened to this album though, based upon how much I love 'I'm in Control' & 'Mean What I Mean' and the great reviews in here, and I very much enjoyed it. It's a great album on first listen and I agree with Joseph's highlights! I'm still not really getting into 'I Remember' or, particularly 'My Blood' though.
'My Blood' is incredible
So up my street so shame you've not managed to find love for it
My top three for now:
I Remember
Not Above Love
In My Head
Pretty good, though Wanderlust feels like a week closure.
52 in the midweeks?
Jesus.
Such a great pop album.
“I Remember” is a summer BANGER, easily the best song on the album. It's like a cross between Purity Ring and Deadmau5, amazing!
Hope something helps the album pick up later, would be a travesty for it to go by largely unnoticed. One of the albums of the year and so current in sound, could easily see the majority of the songs here being massive hits.
I was going to attempt a rate again but I ended up with an 11, six 10s and only one below a 9...think I'll leave it for a bit :')
'Heartbreak Horizon' is the only one I'm not completely adoring right now but even that I'd probably give at least a 7.5 haha. Plus some of the production on that 👌🏼
Can't believe this isn't even top 40 in the albums!
"i remember" is gorgeous though, i don't think it's a capital-B Banger like the other singles but it's emotive and flume's production suits the wistfulness of the lyrics + aluna's vocals so beautifully.
Great album - different to a lot of things that I would normally listen to but it certainly seems consistent after a couple of listens. Mean What I Mean is great!
I had a listen, 'In My Head' sounds like the best album track to me.
I love how this album seems to be appealing to loads of us with different tastes - it's not very often I seem to have something in common with you Doctor Blind! #59 is absolutely criminal
Atrocious chart position for such a stunning album! Body Music managed to hit #11!
Debuted at #71
Nothing official yet but looks like this is the next single
oh wow!! how does she keep putting out these bangers!!!
I really need to listen to the whole album to be honest
can i just chime in and say that i think i'm gonna download this album after being exposed to 'full swing' - jesus buggery bollocks it is so good!!!!!!
Looks like a music video for "Not About Love" will be out soon.
