My Mum and I always used to laugh and love the fact that however hard these chat show hosts used to try to embarrass him with strange situations like that - he was never embarrassed. He always plays along with whatever is thrown at him. I think he is unembarrassable. (I'm sure that's not a proper word!)
In fact it's a sign of the person his is that the only time I've ever seen him embarrassed is when someone is trying to praise him to his face. I can't remember what exactly the occasion was, but I remember when he came back in 2009/10 he was handed some special award at a ceremony in Paris (NRJ awards?). He had to stand onstage while the compere did this long speech about how fabulous he was. I've never seen him squirm so much on stage as that night. You could see he felt uncomfortable. He's a funny old thing isn't he. |

Where do I live? Where am I from? How long have I been a journalist? What did I study at uni? Last gig I went to? Music I was into growing up ("Manics?" he correctly assumes, before stating that "Motorcycle Emptiness" was the first commercial indie song that made him want to write rock music)? Am I hungry? How long have I had short hair? Is it a cry for help? “New hair means new danger, normally.”

He said on one of the live Insta's recently that he's still playing golf.
His garden isn't that big is it? |
