They are busy in the studio making music but Years & Years are back with new music and working on a new album. I can't really tell if this is a lead single considering this is from a fashion brand.

Funny - I was literally earlier thinking "where are Years & Years when you need them?" - surely then bring us something epicly pop and help move us out of this dire state we're in.

what i do find worrisome is that they released Meteorite, a post-album song in a soundtrack,
and that did nothing, peaked at #72 or something |

It doesn't have to have guitars to be indie. Indie is just when something is a but alternative really. But technically you can't call any act with a handful of platinum singles and album indie.

Meteorite wasn't quite up to the same standard as their usual stuff for me so I'm not surprised it didn't do quite so well. I wouldn't say it's a concern, soundtrack singles rarely have any bearing on how the next proper single will perform (P!nk is a notable case with Just Like Fire and What About Us, even if on a slightly different scale).

I never really saw what all the fuss was about with y&y. King was really great and Shine was a nice follow up but everything after that just sounded a bit samey and didn’t do much for me. Desire was nice but mainly due to Tove Lo. Hopefully I’m proven wrong this year but

They've been confirmed to perform at Radio 1's Biggest Weekend in May.
I'm looking forward to the new single, hopefully "DNA" isn't a signifier of what's to come because their first album was so much stronger than it. |
