I recently read on the internet that there were plans to re-release this album with additional content and a track was recorded called "If I ruled the world", which was also produced by the same people that did cupid guy. Sadly, however, Parlophone seemed to give up on the album really early despite the later success of "higher" which could have been included on a re-release. Does anyone know if the rumours were true about a re-release and why they abandoned the idea? Thanks.

This is the first I'm hearing of this, but I did hear that there was a planned re-release with "Higher" included though, originally that was gonna be a solo Kylie song, but Taio Cruz snapped it up recorded it as a duet with Kylie.

But my thoughts on the cancelled re-release was because of first the under performance of "Get Outta My Way" which was expected to be a smash following "All The Lovers", which didn't happen and then things were messed up even more when "Better Than Today" was chosen as the 3rd single, which they now do now admit it wasn't the best idea as it bombed.

After that there weren't any more plans for any singles despite "Higher" becoming successful, because the only thing that was planned is her USA label chose to release "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)" as a digital bundle single.

Taio didn't snap it up, it was his song anyway.

Better Than Today was a fabulous choice. Nothing was going to smash after Get Outta My Way, so we at least got an amazing song released...

(couldn't say the same for Put Your Hands Up though...)

Better than today was a good choice in my opinion, get outta my way killed the campaign. Better than today peaked low but sold as good as singles with much higher peaks.

The whole campaign went tits up as soon as the album was released.

I dont think it went tits up once it was released, it went number 1 on decent sales when it was released.

But the promo and single choices went to shit. Everything was on point for All The Lovers and the initial release of the album.

I agree to a point on this, the start off was fantastic, and i will still say all the lovers is one of Kylie;s finest tracks ever, i still adore the song. It was such a shame it was followed by the bad choice of single that was Get Outta My Way.

I don't think that "Get Outta My Way" was in anyway a bad choice, it was what everybody wanted and was the obvious choice to follow "All The Lovers", I dunno what happened to it, it should have been a smash and things got worse with the further follow up singles.

This is what should have been =

All The Lovers (Yes a perfect start and did everything that it was supposed to do.)

Get Outta My Way (This should have released sooner, in August maybe instead of September and then maybe it would have had a better chance)

Closer (Showed a darker different side to the album and plus with the X-Factor performance which was wasted on "BTT", then this would have been a lot more interesting.)

Looking For An Angel or Cupid Boy (Now anyone of those two would have been the perfect ending, following on from the smash hit "Higher", then filmed a kick-ass music video for whatever got chosen and just went from there and that would have been a much better way to end the campaign instead of the quiet non hype release of "Put Your Hands Up (If you Feel Love)" got, but I did like the Pete Hammond remix of it though, but again if it had a proper video, then I think it would have charted a lot higher than #93.

Closer and Cupid Boy were different enough to make people take notice of the album, they could have worked. I would have killed for an extended version of
Closer, it's too short.

Closer definitely should've happened. It's in my top 3 Aphrodite album tracks, along with Illusion and Aphrodite.

Parlophone messed up with the releases after ATL. They chose the wrong songs to release and abandoned the album too quickly in my view. Shame, cos it could have done a lot better.

The campaign didn't end too soon, it was dead, no point flogging a dead horse.
