Interesting chart battle coming next week in albums.
The most talked about release is probably the new Katy Perry album Smile, but current single has misfired so
hard to predict how she's gonna do, but cannot really see her taking the #1

Then we have Dua Lipa's Remix album. I was very excited about it at first but after hearing THAT remix, not so much...
plus the album is out without a pre-order so looks like no physicals... so cannot see it doing that well either

Then we have the return of Disclosure with Energy. They should be at least top 5 but again it's hard to predict.

And then we have what I consider the strongest candidate, his last album opened with nearly 30K although that was on Q4

And there is album the possibility of a surprise album drop from Drake biggrin.gif but let's hope not

So Im thinking maybe
1 Gregory Porter
2 Katy Perry
3 Disclosure

What do you guys think?

I think you might be underestimating Disclosure, what did their last album open with?

yes but Caracal did well cos of the post-Settle effect
but Caracal was not as well received + they've gone a bit leftfield with their recent singles

but I'm a fan so would love them to do well

I'd be surprised if Disclosure do anything more than half that figure, given it's been 5 years since and the standard version of the album doesn't have any hit singles on it. Gregory Porter seems like more of a traditional album seller so I think he'd outdo them given he's never had any hits anyway.

Katy's had a few flop singles but she should easily go top five at least I'd think, although probably not #1.

I'm really excited for Club Future Nostalgia but I'm disappointed there's still no news on if and when it'll get a physical release

I'll predict:

1. Gregory Porter
2. Katy Perry
3. Texas
4. Disclosure
5. The Magic Gang

Maybe Taylor or Pop Smoke will slot in the top 5, but I think that'll be the order of the new entries that appear.

Disclosure with a 100% success rate so far so smart money is on them but yes lack of even mid-scale exposure these days means it's gonna be tough for them. Meanwhile Porter has been on an upward trajectory with his past 3 drops (#9, #5, #3) so a #1 would follow a pattern of sorts.

So it's hard to call this one! But think it's between those 2, can't see Katy putting up a challenge particularly after her last album didn't even make the top 5.

Had no idea Texas were back, is this a new studio album? Have they even put out any singles from it?

Also, do we see OneRepublic missing the Top Ten?

I wonder how well The Killers will hold up given they’ve had high sales this week. Gaga just about managed a second week at #1 with a strong debut so they might still get the #1 again if the rest are selling around the 10k mark.

Interesting week ahead though!

I think Dua should manage top ten she’ll have good streams.

But I think the real battle could be The Killers week 2 vs Gregory with Katy entering at #3.

^The Killers album is crazy frontloaded, they're down to 1k-ish per day already, zero chance for #1 next week I'd say

so OneRepubliuc have postponed the album again?

I don’t see The Killers staying #1 next week, but they could return there when they release vinyls maybe?

I *think*’ it’s being treated as a separate album the way Gagas album The Remix was.

The Killers will do 5-9k next week imo! Would be hilarious if they did a Taylor to keep the top spot though

I'm not really sure! I think they will do better than most predict I suspect though. They definitely have a solid fanbase

August 28th was never actually confirmed, it's just the date that appeared on their store for a while
