Barnet have sacked manager Harry Kewell after only seven games in the job.

The 42-year-old failed to win any of his matches in charge of the Bees, who have lost five times and drawn twice in the National League this season.

Barnet are second from bottom of the table, with Dover - who started the season with a 12-point deduction - the only side below them.

Dover don't look to be doing too well - they've only regained two of the 12 points they were deducted at the stert of the season...

The director of football is in charge in the interim.

Mark Molesley has been appointed after Danny Searle has been sacked at Aldershot.

Southend manager Phil Brown sacked after a heavy home defeat to Chesterfield.

As so often in football, the real problem is the owner, not the manager.

Negotiations to appoint Stan Collymore as Southend United's head of football operations have hit a snag.

The 50-year-old former striker was a member of the panel that appointed Kevin Maher as head coach on Wednesday.

And Collymore has been in talks with chief executive Tom Lawrence about a formal role at Roots Hall.

In a statement, however, Collymore said the two sides were "a distance apart on roles and responsibilities" and nothing would be decided until next week.

Co-chairman Rob McElhenney says Wrexham's "big dream" would be to reach the Premier League.

McElhenney and fellow Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds are visiting the Welsh club for the first time since they were confirmed as owners in February 2021.

Wrexham have been in English football's fifth tier since relegation from the Football League in 2008 and are currently 11th in the National League after a mixed start to the season.

"No one has gone from our league all the way up to the Premier League but some clubs have gone from the National League to the Championship," McElhenney said.

"So we're obviously going to try and go above that.

"Maybe this is just my own naivety, but what I would say to Humphrey [Ker, club director and comedian] 'if the way that the system works couldn't we theoretically get to the Premier League?'

"He sort of laughed and said, 'Well yes, but that would never happen.' And I don't understand why.

Okay, good luck with that unsure.gif

Stockport County have sacked manager Simon Rusk after nine months in charge.

The 39-year-old took over from Jim Gannon in January and guided the Hatters to the play-offs last season.

However, they lost to Hartlepool in the semi-finals and Tuesday's defeat by Barnet left them 10th in the National League after 12 matches this season.

Wrexham and Torquay United are working with police to investigate alleged acts of violence towards Torquay fans during Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Racecourse.

Wrexham confirmed there were reports of "unacceptable incidents and behaviour".

Torquay said they have made an official complaint to the National League and informed the Football Association.

Torquay United Supporters Trust said it had "received reports of coins, plastic and glass bottles, a lighter and coffee being thrown at Torquay fans".

Tuesday's National League match between Southend United and Maidenhead United has been postponed because of a Covid-19 case in the Magpies camp.

The decision was made by the league following consultation with both clubs.

The game at Roots Hall has been rearranged for Tuesday, 7 December.

Chester FC have sacked Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley as co-managers. Danny Livesey, a UEFA B licenced coach (Ex Carlisle defender, had to mention that, didn't I?) is now player-manager.

It had to happen. Last night was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from Chester. I'd say the 3 of the absolute most dismal games since we reformed have all been this season.

Johnson hasn't even been at the last 2 games!

Ian Culverhouse has left King's Lynn by mutual consent. I remember when he was playing for Norwich back in the 1990s.

Brian Stock has departed as manager of Weymouth. Louis Langdown and Sean O'Driscoll have also departed. Paul Maitland with the coaching staff and the assistance of captain Josh McQuoid are currently in charge of first team affairs.

Bit of a saga here. Under which nation's rules are Chester governed by? Wales have capped the number of supporters and Chester is an English club. However, their ground is in Wales. The story as it has developed.
