It's another new entry at 1 for a 70's classic - this time the gorgeous Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nick's ballad Sara. I've seen her sing it live a few times, and it never fails to bring to me tears, it's just so wonderful the way it builds, and keeps you on the edge waiting for the pay-off, which is all the more sweet when it comes. It originally peaked in my top 10 in early 1980 while I was at Uni, as a follow-up to my chart-topper Tusk, from which this was follow-up single. The Mac's 4th chart-topper, and Stevie Nicks' 6th including solo stuff.
Texas add to their generous number of top 10's - at least 17, plus some solo top 10's to take it over 20 in 4 separate decades now. Mr Haze also follows where Love's Unkind went in 1978, for Donna Summer, which it samples. New entries include highest at 46 from Kings Of Leon, back after a 5-year gap, for a chart span of 18 years, with the very good Stormy Weather. For King & Country get a second chart hit 3 years on from debuting, along with Dolly Parton on the lovely country ballad God Only Knows - Icon Dolly now on 45 years of charting since Jolene went top 10 in 1976.
Manic Street Preachers are also back after a lay-off of 3 years as they knock on 30 years of regular activity, with the Dancing Queen-ish rock Orwellian, as ever politically making pointed barbs at the state of UK politics (and others), which I entirely agree with. Katy Perry's feeling a bit Electric - shocking I know - as she extends her consistent run to 13 years, The Black Keys knock on a decade of rock goodies, The Rasmus return with yet more rock after a gap of err 17 years waiting for a follow-up to biggie In The Shadows. Welcome back gang! Some other familiar regulars also pop in at the lower end, most surprisingly Bono & The Edge doing a footie anthem with Martin Garrix. So giving the Irish lads 40 years since U2's Fire first broke into my charts (and I bought it).

Oh yes I like this track, and its disco influenced sound, I remember when I was younger that about 2004-6 there were quite a few good disco influenced dance tracks in the charts, it became a bit of a trend after the success of Lola's Theme by The Shapeshifters and this reminds me of that time a bit.
