This is true.
I still love ~70% of it and commend the risks she took with it. That why i fan for her. The first half is her at her best, it just falls apart some 9 songs through because she doesn't know when to stop a lot of the time.

I have first experience with dodgy flatmates. Had to live with one all last year and it drove me craazy! Headphones + ARTPOP is the best remedy though, keep pumping it loud *.*
And thanks haha, you're too kind <3 It's worth exploring the site as a whole too if you feel up for it? A lot to get involved in all over the place

Haha Mary! What a blonde moment, I feel so embarrassed now haha!! What does your flatmate do? My brother is the same I can't waitt to move out the house. Artpop gets me through a lot also, when the neighbours are playing chav music for example

my flatmate is a total drunk, goes out and drinks every evening and then she comes home at 3 am and puts the tv on full blast, we fight all the time, today she broke my toaster and she said it wasn't her but who else could be,she is like that. drives me up the wall

I started my new job as a banqueting manager on Tuesday, have been so hectically busy! Yesterday, doing functions for 500+200+50+60 people all in the same day.
We will most definitely have to get work on a forum banner, and a very special Rate Results for ARTPOP is on the way!

Remember when Michael Jackson floated a
massive fibre-glass statue of himself down the
Thames? Or when the tabloids conjured up the
image of him sleeping in an oxygen tent?
Bubbles at the Grammys in a tuxedo? How about
when Prince demanded to be known as a
squiggly symbol or when Madonna offended
everyone with her book full of naked photos?
How everyone laughed at these egocentric flights
of pop fancy.
This day-glo triumvirate were shining beacons of
pop creativity and craziness, a certain brand of
over-the-top eccentricity that has all but
disappeared. The classic pop music ideal of the
thought provoking spectacle is sadly forgotten,
the intelligence factor disintegrating in the
clutches of will.i.am’s robotic glove. In today’s
unpredictable climate, stars seem unwilling to be
difficult or appear confrontational as they
desperately compete for the public’s ever-waning
attention.
Pop is going through struggles not seen since
primetime TV gorged itself on reality shows;
dumbing down and feeding the masses what
they think they crave. Whether it’s Rihanna
doing the “dutty wine” in a PVC bikini, or Miley
twerking hard for her money, today’s most
successful pop stars are an endless production
line of plastic clones singing brashly and loudly
about nothing in particular. Even broadsheet
darling Queen Beyoncé is bizarrely blank and
unknowable, silent beneath the blustering PR
whirl.
Let’s thank the pop overlords then for the
enduring bag of crazy that is Lady Gaga. Ever
since Stefani Germanotta awkwardly crash-
landed onto the music scene six years ago, she
re-ignited the thrill and daring darkness of pop at
its most demanding. Rather than morphing into
a pop slot machine dishing out more radio-
friendly hits like Poker Face and Just Dance ,
Gaga transformed. Gaga became interesting.
Bad Romance , like a glittery zombie
stormtrooper, stomped all over the charts and
into listener’s hearts. It was a cigarette-stench
kiss of life, a pop blitzkrieg exploding onto the
mainstream musical landscape. Easily the most
commercial cut from The Fame Monster EP – a
dark tumour which grew from the original album,
it loudly signalled her unwillingness to align with
her ultra-girlie sexed-up pop contemporaries.
This intense mix of murky europop, half-crazed
lyrics and idiosyncratic influences begat Born
This Way , a concept album that purported to
spread the message of self acceptance. In reality,
it proved more of an oddball expedition with
Gaga trying on many musical wigs and flexing
her contrary creative muscle.
The grandiose statements made at the time of
the album’s release, coupled with widespread
derision at the idea of a pop star attempting to
make any statement other than ‘Let’s Party!’,
created polarising opinions about young Gaga.
The irritated yearned for her to just shut up and
dance whilst the intrigued sat tight, waiting for
the next trick to be conjured.
Increasingly, disdain dominated the discussion
around the release of ARTPOP . There was a
feeling of ridicule emanating at the dizzy
pretention of the whole affair – the desire to
inject art into pop; surely something so creatively
seismic should be left to cultural heavyweight
Björk or postmodern pranksters Goldfrapp.
Although the ARTPOP project was never about
Lady Gaga retreating to the fringes, it was about
thrusting the abstract back into the mainstream
spotlight.
As Gaga pranced through fields naked for
performance artist Marina Abramovic and
wittered on about Jeff Koons, it made a
refreshing change from The Wanted arguing
about chlamydia on Twitter. It also sent fans on a
scavenger hunt of discovery, something that all
the best pop artists provide; a springboard into
an unknown world of influences. In its ferocious
pomposity ARTPOP treated its audience with a
level of intelligence that remained dormant
throughout the years of chart domination from
the likes of Pitbull and LMFAO.
Underneath the po-faced pronouncements
ARTPOP reminds the listener of exactly what Lady
Gaga brings to the pop world, a certain
flamboyant fearlessness. In a time when the
women of pop are a depressing mess of childish
coquettishness and tawdry pornification, Gaga
stands alone as an almost sexless carnival of the
bizarre, creating an absurd spectacle unafraid to
be derided just like the influential pop icons
before her.
As Katy Perry filled the airwaves with self-help
book nonsense and Taylor Swift acted like a
hormonal Girls World doll, Gaga was referencing
Ingmar Bergman at the VMAs, vaulting around
the X Factor stage covered in bandages and
greeting fans in Germany with something akin to
a giant Weetabix on her head. This is Lady
Gaga’s imperial phase, her magnificently
excessive Marie Antoinette-style indulgence.
Little Monsters and casual observers alike
wait in anticipation for the ludicrous fibre-glass
statue moment that is surely only a false eyelash
blink away.
Meanwhile, the announcement of the art- RAVE
tour offers an opportunity to witness the whirling
dynamo in this glorious state of flux, as her
ladyship takes to the road. Embrace the
embodiment of post-everything pop. Observe
pop cultural history being created right in front
of your eyes. Get ready to applaud.

there won't be much point to Gaga changing her name as she'll always be known as Gaga by the general public? 
it'll come across as pretentious.
what she does need to do is, firstly, not make a mess of the single choices. If 'Do What U Want' was single #1 and had a music video it would've done so much better. Then she needs some singles that appeal to the GP as well otherwise she'll just become a fanbase act like Madonna/Minogue. She needs to know that it's not 2009 anymore. An urban or house single would do well as a first single rather than electro-pop, and if she releases a good ballad/midtempo as her 2nd single leading into the album then she could shift many albums.

Just in case you’ve somehow escaped the ubiquitous Ice Bucket Challenge, here’s the low down: The ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association launched a viral fundraising campaign in which a person is challenged via social media to dump a bucket of ice water on his or her head. The person has 24 hours to donate to the ALS Association, complete the challenge, or do both. Once they have done so, they challenge other people in their social network to do the deed, ensuring the thing spreads like wildfire, or at least a chain letter. At this point, the trend has both spiraled out of control and obfuscated the initial purpose of the campaign, but that hasn’t stopped countless celebrities from jumping on the bandwagon.
Eschewing the typical scream-and-run-around reaction to having ice water dumped upon one’s head, Lady Gaga opted to turn her Ice Bucket Challenge into a performance art piece worthy of her pal Marina Abramović, finally putting to rest the nagging question, “Is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Art?” In a bondage suit and jet black lipstick, Gaga perches on a chair and stares into the camera with dead eyes. She holds a giant silver bowl above her head, gracefully dumps it on herself, and remains unfazed, despite the ice cubes falling off of her, before staring into the camera once again with the same expressionless gaze.
Evidently, once you’ve worn a dress made of raw meat, you must be pretty impervious to discomfort. Gaga posted the video to her Instagram earlier this week, nominating Adele, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, Streamline Records founder Vincent Herbert, and Live Nation Global Music Group chairman Arthur Fogel, in return.

Paparazzi's performance was breathtaking. I think it will continue to become more appreciated as it becomes 'older' as people tend to appreciated actual classics more than modern classics. I wish she could do another performance on that calibre again!

Considering all of the performances above Gaga on that rate are from the 80's/90's Gaga has done great to solidfy herself as a classic live artist, alongside such greats as Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi and if people think it's iconic 5 years down the line, I can't wait to see how it will fare in 10 years time? 20, 50?

Sam Smith has revealed what he wrote in a recent email to Lady Gaga to make her cry. Last week, Mother Monster took to Twitter to thank the Stay With Me singer for his kind words, stating she got emotional when reading his message.
Gaga tweeted: "You're so special my baby. Your email made me cry @samsmithworld With the voice of an angel, u need no permission or advice. You're perfect." Smith then replied: "@ladygaga I love you so much!! Thank you x."
During an interview with AMP Radio in Boston, Sam was quizzed about his email to Lady G, with the 22-year old stating:
"Someone had mentioned to me that Gaga knew of my stuff. I was just completely overwhelmed by that.
"I wrote her an email basically just saying, I remember being a 17 year-old, queuing up for your concert, dreaming up doing this and being in the music industry."
He went on to explain: "The thing I admire most about (her) was the hustle and what she did to get into the industry.
"I just ran with it saying, 'Thank you so much for inspiring me to do this because the reason why I'm here now is partly because of you'. And she seemed touched."
Here's hoping the pair get off the computer and head to the recording studio soon!

Inside the capsule, high school students who have spent the summer interning at the Historical Society will each contribute one item. Don’t stop till you get enough! Superstar 88 year old crooner Tony Bennett has plans for a second album with Lady Gaga. Their first one, “Cheek to Cheek,” debuted last week at number 1.
