Usher is gearing up for the release of his eighth studio album later in the year. Guessing that the likes of 'Good Kisser' etc and the project attached the singles in 2014 was scrapped, as seems like he is finally ready to follow up 2012's 'Looking 4 Myself'.
He has never had a brilliant album for me but 'Looking 4 Myself' was definitely his most complete work to date so I am hoping this is at least decent.
The first single 'Crash' is out now and the vibe is lovely. Not anything groundbreaking but very nice indeed.
'No Limit' feat. Young Thug is out too and it's fiiiire.
I've never loved an Usher album but there are always quite a few great tracks. 'Looking 4 Myself' was probably my favourite of his so far!
EDIT: basically just repeated what Davidson said about his other albums haha
Sounds a bit similar to 'Climax' I feel. It's good but again not ground-breaking.
'Crash' video is out.
Beautiful song, gives me all the feels Certainly his best since 'Climax' if not even better!
'Would you mind if I still loved you?' + tears + slick choreography + some of his best ever vocals... This release deserves so much more attention <3, and it's wonderful to see him on top of so many aspects of his game so far into his career.
I'm wary of comparing it to 'Climax' as that's one of the best mainstream R&B tracks of recent years and this one's been in my life for a little over 24 hours lol, but I just can't get enough of it. That pre-chorus melody especially *.*.*.*
'Crash' is seriously the best thing he's released since at least the 'Confessions' era for me! Absolutely stunning.
Loving 'No Limit' right now!
'Crash' has been one of the songs of the summer for me, it's a shame it hasn't set the charts alight as it is much stronger than 'Good Kisser' and 'I Don't Mind' and 'She Came To Give It To You'.
Do you think Usher will ever have another hit in the UK again?
I've not really liked anything post-2005 by Usher except Climax (and to a lesser extent She Came To Give It To You) but after reading the praise on here I gave it a listen and *.* I love his falsetto. I feel like this will go the same way as 'In Common' though. Anyone would think he should still be ruling considering he founded the biggest male popstar on the planet.
It's odd how muted this release feels. Even if he hasn't had a hit single there's usually much more of a buzz around an Usher album release isn't there? Anyway, 'Rivals' is 👌🏼
Been very quiet around the release of his album yes it has. Could that have been his downfall discovering the Bieber? I would like to see Usher get another UK hit again but I have my doubts. He's one of my favourite singers.
