BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ The Vamps & Martin Jensen - Middle of the Night

Posted by: ElectroBoy 21st April 2017, 04:28 PM

Following on from the massive All Night; the Vamps have just revealed there next single is out next Friday and a collab with DJ Martin Jensen called Middle of the Night

I'm guessing more dancey vibes after the success of All Night

Posted by: TMD_24 21st April 2017, 04:31 PM

OMG if All Night was anything, this will be even bigger!!!! w00t.gif

Wonder if the next single will be called 'Tomorrow Night' and feature Jonas Blue? laugh.gif

YASSSSS I'M READY

I absolutely LOVE 'Solo Dance' so this better deliver. Good to see The Vamps continuing the dance path too, though I wasn't a huge fan of 'All Night'.

I grew to properly love 'All Night' in the end! I don't particularly like that Martin Jensen track, but let's see.

Posted by: lewistgreen 21st April 2017, 05:01 PM

I seriously hope this is the start of an album in this kind of vain. Really liked All Night!

Omg! I loved All Night, and I love Solo Dance - so if those tracks are anything to go by this will be INCREDIBLE wub.gif

I expect it is, they've got more Matoma tracks lined up too cheer.gif

About time laugh.gif I'm seeing them live next Friday at the start of the tour and until this, "All Night" is the only new thing they've put out since the last tour.

Wasn't sure about "All Night" at first but I grew to really love that too and I do really like "Solo Dance", hype

It's funny you mention that as they also had a single called Last Night in 2014 and Wake Up in 2015!

2014

2015

2016

2017
TBC.

I've been waiting for another song by The Vamps so great to hear there will be one released very soon! 'All Night' was a breath of fresh air, breaking the status quo of what it is to be a boyband single, so I hope they shall expand on the creative success of that. Not too sure what to make of Martin Jensen being on the track - I find 'Solo Dance' very catchy but it's also very generic and it would be all too easy for The Vamps to go down that path; I shall, however, reserve my judgements for it is another DJ producer so there's every chance they shall be delivering another song with a similar style to 'All Night'.

I doubt this was already planned for the album. I reckon they created this after the success of All Night.

Well The Vamps hopping on the next emerging European DJ kink.gif I am excited for this, I hope it will be more Jensen-orientated than Vamps-orientated though

Posted by: Klaus 22nd April 2017, 11:41 AM

What are the other band members gonna do if they continue with this theme of featured Dance artists? laugh.gif

Posted by: ThePensmith 23rd April 2017, 04:29 PM

Ed Drewett confirmed on his Instagram that he's co-written this. I'm expecting amazing-ness thus if he is involved!

Posted by: Tombo 24th April 2017, 07:48 AM

I love The Vamps, I can't wait for the new single! It sounds dope already!

Performing on Mrs Brown on Saturday biggrin.gif

Posted by: J▲hq 26th April 2017, 11:31 AM

^ What a comedown from performing on the UK Eurovision selection sad.gif!

A preview of this can be heard https://www.musical.ly/v/MzYyMDEyMjE2NzMxODI5NTk2NjEwNTY.html

Posted by: liamk97 26th April 2017, 11:33 AM

Hmm, unsure from that preview, hopefully there's a bit of a vocal chorus after, or before, the drop.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 26th April 2017, 11:46 AM

I think it sounds good from the little preview - but then it was barely 15-20 seconds biggrin.gif

Sounds a lot more dancey than All Night.

Think it should be a decent sized hit!

Just found the full song:

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 27th April 2017, 05:10 PM

I'll probably get used to the production as I did on 'All Night'.

I seriously can't wait for this Chainsmokers-esque sound to die out though, I really hate it. I hope it happens soon.

Posted by: liamk97 27th April 2017, 05:13 PM

Still not too sure on the drop, but the rest of the song is pretty nice.

Posted by: Ryan. 27th April 2017, 05:37 PM

This is decent by their standards, it doesn't have the same Martin Jensen stamp on it that All I Wanna Do and Solo Dance do which is a slight let down. All Night is only just starting to click with me now like 5 months on so this one is a bit more instant at least.

Posted by: JosephStyles🐶 27th April 2017, 11:04 PM

Loving this right away wub.gif sounds like it's taking a lot from current trends but not sounding like a total rip-off of anything, much like All Night, which is good. Hopefully they don't muck up the release strategy so much drama.gif

Posted by: ElectroBoy 28th April 2017, 07:36 AM

Already top 20 on I-tunes and Number 2 on the UK NMF playlist

Posted by: ~josh~ 28th April 2017, 12:57 PM

This new dancier sound is really working for them so far, both singles from this era have been really catchy and this looks as though it could be another big hit for them! I'm hoping this era works out better for them (even though I loved both Rest Your Love and Wake Up)!

Posted by: Joe. 28th April 2017, 01:01 PM

Nowhere near as great as All Night, which I still go back to loads, but still, a good song.

Posted by: danG 28th April 2017, 01:27 PM

this is fairly decent. can't decide if it's better than 'All Night' from one listen but it sounds good.

honestly was expecting a tropical banger with Martin Jensen being involved so a bit disappointed in that way.

Posted by: Dobbo 29th April 2017, 03:22 PM

Well this is about a billion times weaker than Solo Dance.

Is this the way boybands are trying to get long-running streaming hits now then, by enlisting dance producers on every song...

Posted by: ThePensmith 4th May 2017, 01:37 PM

Not gonna lie, I'm addicted to this song right now. That chorus is so catchy!

Posted by: Steve201 4th May 2017, 09:21 PM

Sort of underperforming!

Posted by: JosephStyles🐶 4th May 2017, 10:03 PM

It's not doing much differently to All Night in week 1!

Posted by: jase. 4th May 2017, 10:44 PM

I was expecting an absolute banger given that Martin's involved...but it's just a bit bleh sad.gif

Posted by: Mybelle 14th May 2017, 09:12 AM

I went with my daughter last night to see them and it sounded fab sung live with Martin Jensen appearing. I really like it.

Loving that video! The use of sign language is really unique and interesting and it goes well with the story of the song as well. The lighting looks really good on this as well. Think may have to pre-order the album!

Posted by: jase. 19th July 2017, 11:51 AM

So this was released almost 3 months ago and Radio 1 have only now added it to their playlist. Absolutely ridiculous laugh.gif

Amazing what a number one album can do, can't it?

Posted by: ElectroBoy 19th July 2017, 05:23 PM

Still 12k in front of Ed in the latest set of mids

They're on Radio 1 tomorrow with Scott Mills too

Posted by: awardinary 28th July 2017, 07:57 PM
