Silly season is almost upon us, I suspect a few deals will start happening within the next couple of weeks.

Liverpool buying a Southampton player, well I never laugh.gif

He is definitely the type of player you need though and there's not a lot of great defenders around atm. City & Arsenal really need strengthening in that department too.

I imagine the £100M barrier will be broken this summer if Griezmann leaves Atletico.

I think there are lots of good defenders about, but the problem centre-backs have is they're left so exposed these days. A lot of the problems are down to the systems teams play. No surprise that City, Arsenal and Liverpool struggle the most with defending - but we're also the highest scorers in the league (well City and Liverpool anyway).

I can't see Grizemann leaving Athletico. I think if any player is going to push the £100m barrier it will be Mbappe.

Apparently Man United are after Colombian & Real Madrid player James Rodríguez. I'm not so sure about this, shortly after the 2014 World Cup I would have been all for it but now I'm not so sure if he's as good as he was then.

Good player, but another reason of why Man Utd have their transfer strategy completely wrong. Agents dictate who you sign. I really have no idea why you're signing him.

Rumours in Sunday Express over Man City + United to sign Neymar, I'll be amazed if this happened.

Every footballer with a pulse and a dick has been linked with united this year.

Need to sell a few this year. Could do with a centre back and a creative goal scorer. Need a few squad players too if we want to play 60 games again. Auxiliary cb and wingers would be nice.

I doubt Rodriguez would go to Man United.

Who do you think will leave United?

Rooney for starters. Januzaj was a failure at Sunderland, he ain't got what it takes. One or both of Smalling/Jones. Potentially Darmian and unless I break in to Old Trafford and steal the fax machines, there's a fair chance we're going to lose De Gea. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Martial left either.

Players are linked with Man Utd because it's easy revenue for the media, but also it's PR from Man Utd. If you actually look at when these stories come out, they're very obviously leaked by the club.

As for Man Utd departures.. everything will be down to money. Rooney will leave, but I would not be surprised if it was on loan. No club can afford his wages. Januzai, Smalling, De Gea, Martial I could all easily see leaving.

Yeah nah. We don't need the PR. What we have time and time again is agents leaking fake stories to the press to push up the transfer fees, and thus their take, or to get a better deal in contract talks.

It comes out much much later that United never had any interest or contact to the surprise of everyone bar united fans

Be interested to see if Defoe leaves Sunderland since he can leave for free after our relagation. Also see if we do hold for £30M for Pickford.

Defoe would be a great signing for any club in he premiership from position 6/7 downward - though it'll be interesting to see if he will slow down!

Where do you see Defoe going? West Ham?, Bournemouth?

I can see Sanchez leaving in the summer possibly to Bayern Munich.

Grizemann gave his likelihood of joining united a 6 out of 10 on French TV. United twitter is currently in meltdown. That 40% is called Europa League so we shall see how Wednesday goes

I can't understand why a player would make those comments, it's baffling. Fair play if you do sign him, I'm sure all the pundits will have you down to win the league again biggrin.gif Shame as this will be another player I really like that I am going to have to hate!

Siguardsson possibly could be moving to Everton for £25m from Swansea.

It looks like Defoe will be joining Bournemouth. Older fans will remember a teenage Defoe scoring in ten successive matches for the club when he was on loan from West Ham.
