Janet's 10th studio album, Discipline is out in 8th place. It's her only album released with Island Records, and while it has a huge list of collaborators and producers part of it, it does not contain work from her long time partners that helped to shape her career until this point. So it is in many ways a departure for her. The sound too is quite a departure for her, as she explores a range of genres from electropop, to house, and dance-pop whist still maintaining the R&B and hip-hop sounds she'd mastered previously. The album's singles were 'Feedback', 'Rock with U', 'Luv' and 'Can't B Good', but only the former made any real impact on the charts. While it did reach #1 in the US, its sales were nothing to ring home about and it remains one of her leats successful projects - this led to her departing from the record label after only one album released with them.

'Damita Jo' out now, then we have her best 6 albums to battle it out for me!
I recall Damita Jo being slightly more consistent than All For You, although that had better highs. Might have to give them a relisten!
Damita Jo for me also. It’s not something I ever revisit given you can just listen to one of the big 4 instead
All For You. I love Damita Jo!
Unbreakable will be next for me when All For You is out, that's only slightly ahead
Also can I just say how incredible the Control artwork is? One of my favourite album covers of all time
I bought the vinyl years ago in a charity shop before I even knew the album well, just based on the cover alone.
Damita jo.
Damita Jo
Unbreakable but even that is still 80/100 at least!
Dakota Jo.
