Biography
Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born February 20, 1988), known by her stage name Rihanna (/riˈćnə/ ree-an-ə), is a Barbadian singer, actress, and fashion designer. Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, her career began upon meeting record producer Evan Rogers in late 2003 through mutual friends; she recorded demo tapes with his guidance. Her tape was sent to several record labels, and she subsequently signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, hip-hop producer and rapper Jay-Z. Both her debut album, Music of the Sun (2005) and its follow-up A Girl Like Me (2006) peaked in the top ten on the US Billboard 200; the former featured the commercially successful song "Pon de Replay" while the latter produced her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one single, "SOS".
She rose to widespread prominence and became a household name with the release of her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), and its chart-topping lead single "Umbrella." The album and its 2008 Reloaded re-release were nominated for nine Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella". From 2009 to 2012, following a highly publicized altercation with then-boyfriend, entertainer Chris Brown, she annually released four Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) platinum certified albums: Rated R (2009), Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), and her first Billboard 200 number one album Unapologetic (2012). The same year, she appeared in her first theatrical feature film, Battleship.
Rihanna has sold over 150 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Many of her songs rank among the world's best-selling singles of all time, such as "Umbrella", "Take a Bow", "Disturbia", "Only Girl (In the World)", "S&M", "We Found Love", "Diamonds" and "Stay". In addition to her solo work, Rihanna has collaborated with other artists and was featured on the worldwide hits "Can't Remember to Forget You" (with Shakira), "Live Your Life" (with T.I.), "Run This Town" (with Jay-Z and Kanye West), "Love the Way You Lie" and "The Monster" (both with Eminem). She has achieved thirteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the youngest and fastest solo artist to accomplish this record. Billboard named her the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade and the top Hot 100 artist of the 2010s decade.
Rihanna is known for frequently reinventing her style and image, most notably since Good Girl Gone Bad. Her work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including eight Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 23 Billboard Music Awards, and two BRIT Awards. In 2012, Forbes ranked her the fourth most powerful celebrity of the year, with earnings of $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012. The same year, TIME named Rihanna one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. At the American Music Awards of 2013, she received the first ever Icon Award. On June 2, 2014, Rihanna received the Fashion Icon lifetime achievement award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). - Wikipedia

Biography
Ciara Princess Harris (born October 25, 1985), known mononymously as Ciara (pronounced /siːˈɛrə/, see-ERR-ə), is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress and fashion model. Born in Austin, Texas, she traveled around the world during her childhood, eventually moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she joined the girl group Hearsay; however, the group disbanded after having differences. It was at this time Ciara was noticed for her songwriting. In 2002, Ciara met music producer Jazze Pha. With his help, she signed a record deal with LaFace Records.
In 2004, Ciara released her debut studio album Goodies, which spawned three hit singles: "Goodies", "1, 2 Step", and "Oh". The album was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and earned her four nominations at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards. She released her second studio album, Ciara: The Evolution, in 2006 which spawned the hit singles "Get Up", "Promise", and "Like a Boy". The album reached number one in the U.S. and was certified platinum.
Her third studio album, Fantasy Ride, released in 2009, was considerably less successful than Ciara's first two albums. However, it produced the worldwide top-ten hit "Love Sex Magic" featuring Justin Timberlake, which earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. The following year, Ciara released her fourth studio album Basic Instinct, which was met with low sales and continued a downward trend in her commercial success. In 2011, she signed a new record deal with Epic Records, and released her self-titled fifth studio album, Ciara, in 2013 which was preceded by the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop top-ten hit "Body Party".
Ciara has also transitioned into acting in 2006 she made her film debut it All You've Got, followed by Mama, I Want to Sing! (2012) and That's My Boy (2012). In 2013, Ciara had a recurring role in the US TV series, The Game. Since making her musical debut in 2004, Ciara has attained eight Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles, including a number one. She has also earned numerous awards and accolades, including three BET Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, three MOBO Awards, and one Grammy Award. To date, Ciara has sold over 23 million records worldwide. - Wikipedia

'Back For Good' is the strongest single from all of their early stuff which was largely awful. 'Two Can Play That Game' the highlight though, Bobby Brown obviously a controversial figure but definitely an underrated artist.

Biography
Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Thank F*&*k that song dropped out!!!!
It's always a relief when a Sam Smith song drops out.
'Like I Can' is Sam's best song.
Good to have your company this week Clara.
It would be good if the number 41 play continues on Scott's show when it moves to Friday but seeing as they will no longer play all 40 songs, I doubt it.

Possibly only one Sam Smith song top 40 this week then?
I do still really enjoy Sam's songs on their own but I am so tired of HIM now Even though LMD is an ex-personal chart #1 for me, I will be glad to see the back of it, especially the John Legend version because that is really awful, worst #1 of the year bar Uptown Funk for me
As for See You Again, I'd much like another Jess Glynne week or even Omi although I know they are both impossible outcomes. SYA sounds nice and has a lot of meaning for those close to Paul but feels very dated and doesn't have the same appeal as other similar dated songs such as Lullaby have, perhaps it's the lack of female vocals which seems a very Buzzjack thing to say . Glad to see Wiz get another hit anyway and shake off his 'one hit wonder' tag He has many songs that are huge jams
I'm listening to 'Thong Song' right now actually Wish they didn't have to play the whole top 3 from last week, I always mute it these days
Taylor just hanging on in there! Kicking the Top 40 off in Style!

Biography
Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of fourteen to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the independent label Big Machine Records and became the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. The release of Swift's eponymous debut album in 2006 established her as a country music star. "Our Song", her third single, made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number one song on the country chart. She received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008. Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", Fearless became the best-selling album of 2009 and was supported by an extensive concert tour. The record won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest ever Album of the Year winner. Swift's third album, 2010's Speak Now, sold over one million copies in its first week of US release and was supported by the Speak Now World Tour. The album's third single, "Mean", won two Grammy Awards. Swift's fourth album, Red, was released in 2012. Its opening US sales of 1.2 million were the highest recorded in a decade, with Swift becoming the only female artist to have two million-plus opening weeks. The singles "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble" were worldwide hits. The Red Tour is visiting worldwide venues in 2013 and 2014.
Swift is known for her narrative songs about her experiences as a teenager and young adult. As a songwriter, she has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Swift's other achievements include seven Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, eleven American Music Awards, eleven Country Music Association Awards and six Academy of Country Music Awards. She has sold over 26 million albums and 75 million digital single downloads worldwide. Forbes estimates that she is worth over $220 million. In addition to her music career, Swift has appeared as an actress in the ensemble comedy Valentine's Day (2010) and the animated film The Lorax (2012). As a philanthropist, Swift supports arts education, children's literacy, natural disaster relief, LGBT anti-discrimination efforts, and charities for sick children. - Wikipedia

This song is so beyond amazing and the best song in the charts adore this
Style is fantastic. Unfortunately this is almost definitely going to be its last top 40 week.
This week:
4
apparently.
Style is such an amazing song!!!!
I wish it did better though. I still don't like that Bad Blood is chosen as the next single. Would have preferred Out of the Woods or New Romantics.
Not QUITE a Taylor-free chart this week, then!
I was massively disappointed at the next single choice being 'Bad Blood' but Kendrick possibly being a feature has sparked my interest a little bit more for sure!
And it's probably around #16 on sales only too. Such a shame.
Wildest dreams, I know places, out of the woods or New Romantics should have been the next single. All are 1000/10 moments
Is Taylor about to break her own record for most weeks lost in the top 40 due to streaming?
I am starting to like botch better have my money now
Though American oxygen>>>>>FFS>>>>>>this
'Bitch Better Have My Money' back in the top 40
'American Flopxygen' could neva
This is beyond awful!
Ugh at this returning. Becoming one of my least favourite Rihanna songs.
Bitch give me your money ~
What a painful start to the chart show.
What a disastrous result in the end for this! Although, it's not exactly commercially friendly. Rihanna is in fact not untouchable.
Need to check out 'American Oxygen' at some point, already looks like it's shaping up to do better than this.

- Wikipedia

Biography
With a "cheeky chappy" persona to match Robbie Williams and vocals reminiscent of original Pop Idol Will Young, former call-center worker Olly Murs was one of the success stories of the 2009 season of The X Factor, finishing runner-up to Joe McElderry in the hotly contested final. Born in Essex in 1984, Murs showed little interest in singing while at school, focusing his attention on football, where he played for the school team and later semi-professionally for local non-league team Witham Town. In 2007, he appeared on Deal or No Deal, where he won a lowly Ł10, but it was his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" on the sixth series of The X Factor that enabled him to show off his talents. Mentored by Simon Cowell in the live stages, he wowed judges with renditions of songs by the Beatles, Queen, and George Michael and soon became the favorite to win the show. However, despite a duet with musical hero Robbie Williams in the final, Murs finished a respectable second. In 2010, he signed a six-figure record deal with Epic/Syco Music and embarked on the sold-out X Factor arena tour. After being personally invited by Williams to play at the televised charity football event Soccer Aid, Murs released his first single, the Jason Mraz-inspired "Please Don't Let Me Go," in August. His debut album, featuring songs written by Eg White, Scouting for Girls' Roy Stride, and Wayne Hector, was released in 2010. The record produced three U.K. Top 20 singles, with "Thinking of Me" and "Heart on My Sleeve" racking up chart positions alongside the debut number one "Please Don't Let Me Go."
Murs took a short break from his musical career in late 2011 to present the eighth season of The Xtra Factor — a spinoff behind-the-scenes look at The X Factor — returning to the program that shot him to fame. His experience with the dynamics involved in the show and his upbeat character made him a firm favorite with the audience — as well as flirty co-presenter Caroline Flack. During the recording of each show, Murs was working on songs for his second album with writers Steve Robson (Lily Allen, James Morrison) and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys). The first single from his second record, "Heart Skips a Beat," featuring U.K. hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, was released in summer 2011 and swiftly became a hit. The full release, In Case You Didn't Know, followed in November and secured his first U.K. number one album. The following year, Murs opened for sprightly boy band One Direction on their North American tour and re-released the "Heart Skips a Beat" single, replacing Rizzle Kicks with Philadelphia rap duo Chiddy Bang, to coincide with the shows. Also in 2012, Murs released his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, which included the single "Troublemaker," featuring rapper Flo Rida. ~ Jon O'Brien & Scott Kerr, Rovi / iTunes

YAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS jam alert
Chandelier needs to leave.
Never would have thought this would be such a huge hit when I first heard it .
I do agree with Jade though, I like Sia overall but this song has tired on me. I think Big Girls Cry will flop too.
So Freakin' Tight is really growing on me since I got Now 90.
So Freakin' Tight holding on in the top 40 better than most dance songs that hit top 10.
Polarising track indeed, but oh YES, what an utter jam!

- iTunes

Funnily enough, I was just thinking to myself how fresh the chart sounded overall during the last track thanks to the absence of Sam Smith.
I should be so lucky. Painful track, but least it's fairly low down!
Four Sam Smith songs down, just one to go *.*
The superior version of "Lay Me Down".
The sole Sam Smith song in this week's chart. And I'm certain the Comic Relief version is truly out this time!
Ugh! At least this is the only Sam Smith song left to knock out of the top 40. Hope it's gone next week. At least the John Legend version is out although it would be the other way 'round if it was the John Legend version which appeared on NOW 90. I hope next weeks chart is a Sam Smith-less chart

Biography
Born in 1977, Dan Stein, aka DJ Fresh, is one of the most influential figures on the U.K. drum'n'bass scene. Influenced by tapes brought back from illegal raves by older friends, he bought his first turntables in his teens, and while at university, started playing late-night sets on local pirate radio stations. In 1999, as part of the drum'n'bass collective Bad Company, he founded record label BC Recordings and the scene's most popular website, Dogs on Acid. After leaving to pursue a solo career, he remixed tracks for Pet Shop Boys, DJ Shadow, and Apollo 440, and founded the Breakbeat Punk label, which later merged with Adam F's Kaos Recordings to become Breakbeat Kaos. In 2006, he released his debut album, Escape from Planet Monday, and four years later, follow-up Kryptonite produced his first hit single, "Gold Dust," which reached number 24. Building on the commercial success that Kryptonite brought, DJ Fresh released the single Louder, the track - used in a Lucozade advertising campaign - became the first dubstep single to reach the top of the UK singles chart. 2012 saw the release of Fresh’s third studio album, Nextlevelism, which featured collaborations with Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal and Juliette Lewis. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes

Biography
Kelly Brianne Blackstock (née Clarkson; born April 24, 1982), is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. In 2002, she came to prominence after winning the first season of American Idol, and has since been established as "The Original American Idol". Her debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in the chart's history; it became the best-selling single of the year in the country.[citation needed] She became the runner-up of World Idol the following year.
Clarkson's debut studio album, Thankful (2003), has been certified 2× platinum and sold over 4.5 million copies internationally. Its lead single, "Miss Independent", became an international hit, earning Clarkson her first Grammy nomination. She developed a rock-oriented sound with her second album, Breakaway (2004). It was certified 6× platinum and sold over 15 million copies worldwide, earning Clarkson two Grammy Awards, including one for the hit single "Since U Been Gone". She took full creative direction of her third album, My December (2007). Its lead single, "Never Again", became a top ten hit. Clarkson's fourth album, All I Ever Wanted (2009), became a critical and commercial success. Its worldwide hit single, "My Life Would Suck Without You", surpassed "A Moment Like This" for the biggest leap to number one on a single week in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart from number 97, a record it still holds today. Her fifth album, Stronger (2011), generated international chart-topping singles "Mr. Know It All" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", with the latter being the second-best selling American Idol single to date with over four million downloads in the U.S. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, making Clarkson the first and only artist to win the award twice. In 2012, Clarkson released Greatest Hits – Chapter One; its lead single, "Catch My Breath", is her twenty-fourth entry on the Hot 100 and her eleventh million-selling single.
Clarkson has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. In a career spanning over a decade, Clarkson has accumulated ninety-one number ones on the Billboard charts, and eleven number one singles worldwide. She is known for her vocal versatility and range. Her music has mainly dealt with themes of heartbreak, independence, and self-empowerment for women and young teens. Apart from her work in music, Clarkson has also ventured into television and film. Clarkson's film debut was in the romantic musical From Justin to Kelly (2003) and she also appeared in American Dreams as Brenda Lee, in Reba, on The Voice as a guest advisor, on Duets as a mentor and judge. Clarkson's musical work has also gained her numerous accolades, including three Grammy Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards and a Women's World Award. In 2012, Clarkson was ranked nineteenth on VH1's list of "100 Greatest Women in Music." In 2013, Clarkson was ranked number 105 on Joel Whitburn's "Top 500 Artists Of All Time," and number 75 on Billboard's "Hot 100: Top 100 Artists." Billboard also ranked Clarkson as the 14th-best-selling artist of the 2000s and one of the top 200 album sellers of the Nielsen SoundScan era at number 187. - Wikipedia

Biography
MMeghan Elizabeth Trainor (born December 22, 1993) is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. She began singing at the age of 6 and songwriting at age 11. She later became a member of a band called Island Fusion and a jazz band at high school. At the age of 15, she produced and released a self-titled album. She then attended the Berklee College of Music and found success at a variety of songwriting contests across the United States. In 2011, she released two acoustic albums, I'll Sing with You and Only 17. The latter earned her a song publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music, where she wrote for Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter, among others.
In February 2014, Trainor was signed to Epic Records by L.A. Reid after performing her song "All About That Bass" on the ukulele for him. The song was later championed by Reid as Trainor's debut single and saw a release on June 30, 2014. "All About That Bass" became a best-selling single, going to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks. The single preceded Trainor's debut EP, Title, which debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200 in September 2014. Her second single, "Lips Are Movin", marked her second consecutive top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number four. Her debut album, also named Title, was released on January 9, 2015. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
Trainor's music is predominantly bubblegum pop, blue-eyed soul, doo-wop, and pop in sound. Her lyrics mainly deal with subjects of 21st century womanhood, though her work as been criticized as not being progressive. Her work has been recognized with a variety of award nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "All About That Bass" at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. - Wikipedia

This is so quickly becoming one of my favourite songs of the year, beyond absolutley amazing
This song is quite underwhelming after the brilliant Lips Are Movin.
I hear this all the time at the moment. Unfortunately my least favourite single this era, doesn't quite have the same magic as its predecessors.

Nice move for this! Meghan is doing really well this era!

Oh gosh beyond terrible this time of our lives
poor people in Malta having to listen to pitbull also.
Mr Worldwide continuing to slay your non-top28 faves~
So glad this is sticking around! Hopefully "She Knows" will actually get Ne-Yo a top 10 this year
Back to the 1950s with Meghan and now back to 2010 with Pitbull.
Not AWFUL or anything, but just so nondescript.
Thought this would be higher seeming as it's being helped by streaming
I really don't Time Of Our Lives. I really don't.
how long will this spend at #28? It's even #28 on iTunes right now so probably coming for that fourth #28 week next week
This is one of the very few Pitbull tracks that I grow to like.
Time Of Our Lives is such a guilty pleasure, giving me 2010 teas!
Love the retro production I will say but Pitball can go away

Biography
Kodaline (/ˈkoʊdəlaɪn/) are a Dublin-based Irish rock band. Originally known as 21 Demands, in 2011 the band changed its name to Kodaline.
Steve Garrigan and Mark Prendergast grew up in Swords, Dublin and have known each other since childhood. They both attended secondary school at Colaiste Choilm in Swords, where they would take part in many battle of the bands. Years later, they began to share a love for music and at that stage Vinny May, who also lived in Swords, joined the group. The group was not fully complete until January 2012, when their friend, bass player Jason Boland, from Celbridge, County Kildare was recruited. - Wikipedia

Kodaline are and lil' bit hit and miss with me. Slight 'Teardrop' vibes in the production!
Actually, they're a bit like Lawson but with better production values.
The One
I like High Hopes, not sure I'll ever like another Kodaline song.
I'm liking this (first listen).
'The One' is pretty gorgeous. A bit confused as to how it's managed to catch on so much but not complaining as it's always nice to see a good ballad do well (and hopefully not massively overstay its welcome like recent other ones).
Yay for Kodaline, flying the flag for Coldplay/Travis in the present day is always needed for a bit of diversity.
This is very nice, despite the chorus sounding almost identical to that of Travie McCoy's Billionaire!
Not their best but up there as a fave of theirs
*Yawn* more anemic guitar background noise~
Does this emulate Alicia Keys' "No One"?
The melody of this chorus is reminding me of something else and it's really bugging me!
The nights I really love this now

Biography
Cleverly using dance music blogs as the platform to launch his career, Tim Berg, aka Avicii, has since become one of the most prominent producers on the burgeoning Swedish house scene. Born in Stockholm in 1989, Berg only started making music at the age of 18, writing and remixing tracks in his bedroom and then leaking them onto various blogs. Influenced by Daft Punk and Steve Angello, his melodic house sound gained a huge following, and led to support from Tiësto, who invited him to perform a weekly residency at Privilege in Ibiza, and Pete Tong, who released first single "Manman" through his Bedroom Bedlam label. After he remixed tracks for Little Boots, Robyn, and Dizzee Rascal, Berg's first mainstream release, the Ministry of Sound instrumental "Seek Bromance," became a huge hit across Europe and later in the U.K., thanks to a vocal version featuring Amanda Wilson. In 2012 he released the song "2 Million" after reaching that number of followers on Facebook, while his single "Le7els" and its accompanying video were nominated at that year's MTV Music Video Awards. Towards the end of 2012 he released his highly-anticipated collaboration single with Nicky Romero. "I Could Be The One" was a smash hit and was featured heavily on reality TV shows and radio play across Europe. In 2013, Avicii teamed up with Ericsson and creates the first "crowdsourced" track which enabled the producer to connect to fans and promote his brand. The single "3 Million" was released to celebrate the 3 millionth fan on his Facebook page. "Le7els" was nominated for the Best Dance Recording at the 2013 Grammys but lost out to Skrillex & Sirah's "Bangarang". Ahead of his debut album #TRUE, he released the single "Wake Me Up" in June 2013. Featuring Aloe Blacc, it reached the top of the UK Charts and confidently showed off his new musical direction. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes

I am liking this again
I might be in the minority as I like The Days a lot more than The Nights.
Also a pretty good chart run for this
I'm liking The Nights more now
Wow, Avicii got bad pretty quickly. I used to love his "Levels"/"Silhouettes" days.
The Nights is such trash.
I wish Avicii would go back to songs like I Could Be The One and Levels.
Avicii
I'm a little miffed as to how 'The One' is doing so well, it was pretty uninteresting and I usually like them. Just a subpar Coldplay knockoff (compared to the quite good Coldplay knockoffs they usually release).
I really love what I did for love- especially the first minute and a half

Still enjoying 'What I Did for Love'
I like this song!!!! I actually found this song through GNTM actually!!!
From euphoria to a song that provokes no emotion from me whatsoever. So run of the mill.
It's so crazy to see the impact that Eastenders made on this song. I absolutely love it though and it still sounds fresh to me!
What I Did For Love is amazing, I'm glad it's outlasted Lovers On The Sun. Only 4 more weeks to outlast Dangerous too!

ZZZZZZzzzzzz Part. 3
About time this dropped out the top 20!!!
Wait? OMG the saccharine abomination is FINALLY out of the top 20 !!!
Thinking Out Loud not top 20? Am I dreaming?
Gosh this really is beyond awful now
Well this run puts that of 'Chandelier' to shame.
This is not even that intolerable these days, maybe due to the fact it's not Sam Smith.
"I will be loving you 'til we're 70"
I think Ed is 24, and he's already broken up with whoever the song is about.
This needs to disappear now.... yawn
I'm pretty pleased to see TOL leave the top 20 if I'm honest. It's a weird song with me where I originally genuinely did love it and yet now when it's on I actually reach for the mute button! I think it'll be clinging on to the top 40 for a good while to come still however.

When the beat drops out
Really loving this now, so relaxing and great
Here's the chart rundown from 1980
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KhoIprKZZQ
'When the Beat Drops Out' sounding really good right now especially after Muting Out Loud
When The Beat Drops Out is so lush, great song.
Well Clara, the last wedding I went to was void of Ed Sheeran (although had to settle for John Legend...) and instead featured a lot of steel drums, much like this!
'When the Beat Drops Out' has been one of my biggest turn-arounds this year, completely essential now.
Very relaxing!!!!
'When the Beat Drops Out' ~ frickin' awesome
When The Beat Drops Out still sounds so good

Biography
In one of the more unlikely crossover success stories, blonde Australian beauty Iggy Azalea (born Amethyst Amelia Kelly) segued from a high-profile modeling career to become a southern hip-hop star. Influenced in her childhood by Missy Elliott, TLC, and Tupac Shaqur, she moved to the states in 2006 at age 16, stating that she was drawn to the birthplace of rap. Moving from Miami to Houston to Atlanta, she absorbed the Southern-style drawl of her surroundings and released a trap-inspired mixtape titled Ignorant Art in 2011, shortly after relocating to Los Angeles. A video for her song "Pu$$y" was uploaded to the internet and became a YouTube favorite due to its explicit nature. Around this time, Azalea's blossoming relationship with rising rapper A$AP Rocky earned her some headlines (she tattooed the title of his debut album on her knuckles), but her recording career stalled when plans to work with T.I. fell through due to label conflicts. In spring of 2012, she signed to Wilhelmina Models International and pursued modeling full-time, landing a job as the "New Face of Levi's Jeans." Later that year, her musical stock skyrocketed when XXL Magazine put her on the cover of their annual Top 10 Freshman issue, alongside Danny Brown, Roscoe Dash, and French Montana. As the first female, non-American rapper to make the list, serious hip-hop fans took notice, including Diplo, who hooked up with Azalea for her follow-up mixtape, TrapGold, before she signed to Mercury Records for her official 2013 debut The New Classic. - iTunes

I wasn't sure whether to tag this as a 1st or 2nd single, gone with 1st in the end as 'Beg For It' being ignored entirely by radio indicates it was essentially cancelled...
Either way, this song is really yawn worthy. Feels like I've heard it a million times already and this is only the second time.
'Trouble' only #21 ~ wow streaming is really hampering this
Hope this goes top 10 next week, my 3rd favourite of hers I'd say.
Here's an old clip from 1981

Trouble doesn't sound great right now. Still, I would gladly have seen it top 20 if that meant a certain song dropped out.
Ugh, Jennifer Hudson is one of my least favourite singers, like I srsly can't stand her.
Trouble isn't awful, but I know I'm gonna be sick to death of it in a few months.
Oh my god at Clara playing part of the J-Hud/James Corden video !

Elastic Heart is so good.
Well done for this to still be higher than it was prior to The Voice!
Okay I may be getting sick of Sia but I still have time for this. 10-15-20 though, 25 next week?
This is a great song!!!! Though I'm hearing this song everywhere I go now.
Glad 'Elastic Heart' made the top ten in the end ~ although a slightly more rapid descent from now on would be appreciated!

Biography
Usher Raymond IV (born October 14, 1978), known mononymously as Usher, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and actor. He rose to fame in the late 1990s with the release of his second album My Way, which spawned his first Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit, "Nice & Slow". The album has been certified 6-times platinum by the RIAA. His follow-up album, 8701, produced the Billboard Hot 100 number one hits "U Remind Me" and "U Got It Bad". The album has been certified 4-times platinum by the RIAA.
Usher's 2004 album, Confessions, sold over 10 million copies in the United States and has been certified diamond by the RIAA. Confessions has the highest first week sales for an R&B artist in history. It spawned four consecutive Billboard number one hits — "Yeah!", "Burn", "Confessions Part II", and "My Boo". Usher's 2008 album, Here I Stand, sold over 5 million copies worldwide, and its lead single "Love in This Club" spent three weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
On March 30, 2010, Usher released his sixth studio album Raymond v. Raymond, which became his third consecutive album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. It has been certified platinum by the RIAA, and spawned another Billboard Hot 100 number-one hit "OMG". The song became his ninth number one in the United States, making him the first 2010s artist to collect number one singles in three consecutive decades. He later released an extended play and deluxe edition of Raymond v. Raymond, entitled Versus, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 chart. Its lead single "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
The RIAA ranks Usher as one of the best-selling artists in American music history, having sold over 23 million copies in the United States alone. To date, he has sold over 65 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling music artists of all time. Usher has won numerous awards including eight Grammy Awards. At the end of 2009, Usher was named the number one Hot 100 artist of the 2000s decade. Billboard named him the second most successful artist of the 2000s decade, with his 2004 album Confessions being ranked as the top solo album of the 2000s decade. Billboard also placed Usher at number six on their list of Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years. Usher has attained nine Hot 100 number-one hits (all as a lead artist) and has attained eighteen Hot 100 top-ten hits. - Wikipedia

Biography - Chris Brown
Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American recording artist, dancer, and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he taught himself to sing and dance at a young age and was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows. Having signed with Jive Records in 2004, Brown released his self-titled debut studio album the following year. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With his first single "Run It!" peaking atop the US Billboard Hot 100, Brown became the first male artist as a lead since Diddy in 1997 to have his debut single top the chart. His second album Exclusive (2007) spawned his second Hot 100 number one "Kiss Kiss", in addition to "With You" and "Forever". The album was also certified double platinum by the RIAA.
In 2009, Brown received much media attention after pleading guilty to felony assault of singer and his then-girlfriend Rihanna; he was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. His third album Graffiti was released later that year, and included the top-twenty single "I Can Transform Ya". Brown's fourth album F.A.M.E. (2011) became his first to top the Billboard 200; it spawned hit singles "Yeah 3x", "Look at Me Now", and "Beautiful People". F.A.M.E. earned Brown his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 54th Grammy Awards. His fifth album Fortune was released in 2012. However, after the release of Exclusive, Brown's albums have not been well received by music critics.
Apart from his work in the music industry, Brown has pursued an acting career. In 2007, he made his on-screen feature film debut in Stomp the Yard, and appeared as a guest on the television series The O.C. Other films Brown has appeared in, include This Christmas (2007), Takers (2010), Think Like a Man (2012), and Battle of the Year (2013). Throughout his career, Brown has won numerous awards, including two NAACP Image Awards, three American Music Awards and twelve BET Awards. - Wikipedia

Why can't this and a much superior song released on the same week swap chart runs
A.Y.O. = Awful Yucky Offensive
I love me some urban jams, but this really isn't all that.
ayo ~~
Didn't expect a Rihanna re-entry no other major talking points so far but TOL out of the top 20 is reason to celebrate I suppose.

I'm growing to like this. Though technically, when you come just after Awful Yucky Offensive, you usually do sound pretty good. Still, I kinda wish it was Lighthouse or Mirror Man instead.

Biography
Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.
In 2010, she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK in December 2010 and on 29 April 2011 she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Buckingham Palace. The album's title track, "Lights", was released in the US in March 2011, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Goulding's second album Halcyon was released in October 2012, "Anything Could Happen" preceded the album as the lead single. Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 Chart, her first top ten debut in the United States. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released on 23 August 2013, it included new singles including "Burn", which became her first UK number-one single in the same month. At the 2014 BRIT Awards she received the award for Best British Female. By the end of 2013, she has sold an estimated 4 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide. - Wikipedia

The Return Of Quality Music.
Lean On still to play? Wow.
Everything crossed Firestone & Fester Skank can manage top 10.
LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO
Back to massive form now, definitely one of my favourite songs this year easily and just so perfect
I still love this!!!!
Now... this sounds so much better than the last 3 tracks.
Oh yay, the quality is now firmly back on track. This is probably my favourite Ellie single since 'Figure 8', just so gorgeous.
Good chart run, but I was hoping for a little more staying power from LLYD.
YYYYEEESSS!!!
Out of the top 10 at last
So so so so so boring now
'Take Me To Church' FINALLY out of the top 10 what a relief.
really hoping Kygo and Lethal Bizzle make top 10 this week too, and Major Lazer in the future.

Another long-runner out the top 10 (just need Sugar & Uptown Funk to follow suit now).
Getting a bit bored of this now tbh.
Hallelujah for the weekly sermon finally out of the top ten!
45s out too ~ top 10 is having a spring clean
FourFiveSeconds (I wrote thinking out loud instead of fourfiveseconds first oops )
Though I was American oxygen or Towards the sun was smashing even though this is good (though bit below the standard of her usual stuff)
These identical falls lead me to believe that they just got pushed down 5 places and that their sales haven't suddenly collapsed.
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten Nick Jonas existed. If I'm lucky I'll forget again.
Getting really tired of 4/5/Seconds.
The longevity of this has been incredible, out of the top ten showing how much of a fresh week this is!
(Lady Gaga could never.)
Major Lazer climbed up from #14 in the midweeks! I wish that song would be #1.

Lean On
Mř's vocals slay and this is amazing
Officially a top 20 hit! The notion of this being an actual chart force is so bizarre. Not complaining though, have been obsessed with this for a few weeks and am still very much so!
Everything about this is so addictive.
'Lean On' sounding super fresh in the top end of the chart long running top 10 smash awaits it!
Yes for this smashing.
This track is decent (need time for the song to grow on me), I guess. I like MŘ though.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this this HAS to go top 10 next week please!
I really like this one. Hopefully in the future DJ Snake will be more Lean On and less *cough* Turn Down For What *cough*.
Lean On
THAT drop after the second chorus ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Really hope this can make the top 10 in the coming weeks

'Uptown Funk' finally making way for fresh music still sounding great but YAY.
'Sugar' to follow it (yes) please.
TAKE ME TO CHURCH AND UPTOWN FUNK ACTUALLY OUT OF THE TOP 10?!
SOMEONE FIND ME THE BALLOONS
Quite a few of the long-runners falling out in a very much needed clear-out, then!
'Uptown Funk' REFUSES to get old for me.
Uptown Funk
Also, that group called Boyband on Britain's Got Talent last night were really good.
SHOCK HORROR... 'Uptown Funk' has left the top ten building
Mark Ronson has been finally knocked off number 1 in the US and now finally out of Top 10 here!!!! Times-a-changing!!!!
Lethal Bizzle either finally managing a top 10 hit or peaking at #11 for a third time (Miley Cyrus teas)
If Sugar prevents Bizzle top 10 something is getting thrown...
I'd be so pleased if Uptown Funk didn't return to the top 10 ever again now, the Happy of 2015
"a new entry in the top 10" I guess Bizzle has finally broken his top ten duck.
UF for the climb next week
seriously hoping Lethal Bizzle does make the top 10, it's about time he had one to his name and 'Fester Skank' is great.
YES!!! Thank god it's finally out the top 10 but will probably climb back in next week. Damn BGT!!!
PLEASE Sugar to follow this at 11, much as I like some of them, it's great to see a bit of a clearout of the long runners in the top 10, thought they were gonna stay there forever.
I don't mind Fester Skank but I kind of hope it misses out because it's funny seeing him miss out so much and The Drop/RariWorkOut and all his other recents are much better.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
YES Lethal 11 AGAIN
Ha.
Second time he's been robbed of a top 10 due to streaming
OH FFS
f***.
NONONO
Lethal Bizzle nu Miley Cyrus as I thought
Poor Bizzle
So dissapointed Bizzle got another 11. I was really hoping this would finally be top 10 for him.

Oops. Well, Bizzle due two #1s in a row now then to continue the Miley teas ~
On the bright side Firestone is top 10!
Festerskank.com *.* Poor Lethal Bizzle though, no amount of twitter promo seems to work for him. First listen of this!
Lethal Bizzle at #11 again, how unlucky for him! He'll surely be top 10 on the sales chart though.
All you f**king w***rs who didnt want Lethal Bizzle to be top 10 suck my d!!!
Maroon 5 didnt f**king deserve it again,, PATHETIC just like all you Lethal B haters!!!
Well, this is better than RariWorkOut.
Lethal Bizzle #11 again! N-Dubz still having the last laugh then.
This is an absolute bomb!
Anywhere I go I make the gang go!
Okay so this production is rather banging
First time hearing this, sounding good I don't think RariWorkOut (or German Whip) was instant for me so I hope I end up liking this as much.
Firestone top 10 at last Lethal Bizzle is dreadful, but I just wanted Sugar to piss off :/
This song is hilariously bad, it's like a collection of hip hop sound effects thrown over some fairly uneventful verses.
That was absolutley beyond awful but better than that rariworkhorrorthing and probably the drop as well
Hah, poor Bizzle. Really naff title though, he's clearly run out of inspiration.
RariWorkOut was lovable, this is not so much.
'Fester Skank' sounding quite fun on first listen, not as good as 'Rari WorkOut' tho.
I am really starting to like Firestone right now
Kygo in the Top 10
Kygo at #10 more than makes up for Bizzle missing out in fairness...
this song so much
Major Lazer isn't up 1 place Clara LOL.
'Firestone' is such a chillfest! yay at it going top 10 too.
On the bright side, at least it was Kygo who held Bizzle out of the top 10
Delighted the sublime 'Firestone' has made the top ten!!!

The fact that Firestone snatched the last top 10 spot instead of Sugar probably makes Lethal Bizzle peaking at #11 again a lot more acceptable.
well at least Maroon 5 didn't directly stop Lethal Bizzle, Kygo in the top 10 is amazing to see
Still not getting the hype behind 'Firestone' at all.
The production is alright, but the vocals aren't great. Nothing special.
I do love chilled out house
I am loving this!!!
Yeah, I'm very pleased Kygo made the top 10, this was the more important cause over Bizzle. Hopefully it can stay in for a good few weeks now.
Woo for this making the top 10. Fully loving it now, very late to the game of course ~
Still hate this but I've come to like 'Stole The Show' at least!

Biography
Maroon 5 (formerly known as Kara's Flowers) is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while its members were still in high school. The original members of the band were: Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick; they signed to Reprise Records and released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After a tepid response to the album, the band parted ways with the record label and the members attended college. In 2001, the band regrouped, with James Valentine added to the lineup, and pursued a new direction under the name: Maroon 5.
The band signed with Octone Records and released their debut album, Songs About Jane, in June 2002. The album's lead single "Harder to Breathe", received heavy airplay, which helped the album to debut at number six on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's second and third singles, "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved", became worldwide hits reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. For the next few years, the band toured extensively worldwide in support of Songs About Jane and produced two live recordings: 2004's 1.22.03.Acoustic and 2005's Live – Friday the 13th. In 2006, drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist Ryan Dusick left the band and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band recorded their second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, and released in May 2007. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Hands All Over, the band's third studio album was released in September 2010 and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2011, the album was re-released and supported by their single "Moves like Jagger" featuring American singer Christina Aguilera. The song became the band's second single to reach number one on the Hot 100 chart; it has sold over 14.4 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles worldwide. The band released their fourth studio album, Overexposed, in June 2012. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The first two singles from the album "Payphone" and "One More Night", were both international hits and peaked at two and one on the Hot 100 chart respectively.
In 2014, the band signed Interscope Records and recorded their fifth studio album, V, which is set to be released on September 2, 2014.
Since its debut in 2002, the band has sold more than 10 million albums in the United States and over 30.8 million digital singles and 27 million albums worldwide.
In 2013, Maroon 5 became the third most-played artist on Top 40 Mainstream radio, based on Clear Channel owned Mediabase, becoming one of the most successful acts of Interscope Records. - Wikipedia

EURGH! This utter atrocity is still here seriously what is with the public on this one?
Ugh. I am really not liking their V era.
How is Sugar outlasting all the other singles that were above it a few weeks ago?
Not even Onika can make this song bearable.
I'm so glad I enjoy this song Hasn't really gotten old for me yet either.
So great to see this Firestone top 10 Best song in the charts right now
Sugar though...Good lord, this needs to go away, still baffled this was so successful over the superior Animals and it's massively outstaying it's welcome.
Sugar is quite nice, in my opinion, although right now a lot of people hate for denying Lethal Bizzle a top 10 position.
This manages to be inoffensive but annoying at the same time... how is that even possible?!
No seriously, so annoying how this is the hit of the era when 'Animals' and 'It Was Always You' are leagues ahead.
'Sugar' is having great top 10 longevity for a #7 peaking single! It's outlasted LeAnn Rimes 'How Do I Live's top 10 weeks (that also peaked at #7), hopefully it doesn't outlast its 18 top 20 weeks though
how has this twaddle had 8 weeks in the top10?
Bloodstream is amazing.

I am really liking this remix of bloodstream now though the original is better
Was expecting this to be quite a lot bigger though
Stole The Show is also very very good, may that follow suit.
Bloodstream, a touch of Rudimental magic to conjure up one of his best ever tracks. Goes without saying really
YASS Kygo made it! Wish a #1 for it.
Sugar needs to move on definitely.
Rudimental version is drivin me crazy right now. Just can't get this out of my mind. The drop just stuck in my brain despite it has nothing special.
Oh hi guys
The fondness I had for the original put me off this. However, I'm really coming around to this remix now! The verses in particular sounds even more beautiful.
This is OK.
I wonder what the smallest largest fall for a top 10 single is? For example, Pharrel's Happy never fell more than 5 places on it's way down the Top 40, and every other Top 10 single ever fell more than that (if this were true...which it's not.... or is it?)
Does anyone understand my question?
The remix is so unnecessary - it ruins a great song.
