I'd say Homer is my favourite/the most iconic and well developed character of any tv show I've ever watched. He simply has to win this! Yes Lisa is that feminist queen!!1 Marge is the everyman mum and Bart is the lovable rogue but no one is funnier than Homer imo.

LISA SIMPSON OK this feels a bit wrong because she is like one of the GREATEST television characters of all time but someone has to be third so I've narrowly gone for Lisa. I'm not even sure how I'm splitting this anymore as there really is nothing between them now but Marge and Homer make the top two. Lisa is a feminist queen, the brains and the moral of the Simpsons family and just generally (one of?) the most relatable characters in the Simpsons universe. She can be hilarious at times but her intellect and warmth makes her such a special character MARGE VS. HOMER!!

I've seen a few people comment that they connect with Marge so much because she reminds them of their mum. This is getting a bit deep now but I think I warm to her so much because she'd everything I want in a mother, she's the emotional backbone of the family and always their for her children and husband. She still has her absolutely hilarious moments but she's probably the loveliest character in the show that makes me smile whenever she's on screen. Fun fact: Marge's signature hairstyle was originally created because she was supposed to be hiding rabbit ears underneath which would be revealed in a twist at the end of Season 1 but this idea was eventually scrapped. 01. HOMER SIMPSON You can't really have a favourite Simpsons character countdown without having Homer at the top really. All of the other characters below him are iconic in their own ways and I think, if anything, that this countdown has showcased just how many amazing characters the show has created. But at the end of the day, Homer MAKES the show what it is and he is the main reason that the show is such a success. Perpetually unintelligent and silly, he has many moments of bad parenting (and husbanding ) but is probably the most loveable TV character ever made and I just couldn't not have him as the #1 on my countdown
