My Heart Takes Over
UK Release: 13th November 2011 Peak: #15 Weeks: 04 Certified: Flop Week - Date - Position - Sales 01 - 20/11/11 - #015 - 23,073 02 - 27/11/11 - #028 - 11,000 * 03 - 04/12/11 - #046 - 06,000 * 04 - 11/12/11 - #130 - 01,500 * (OUT) "My Heart Takes Over" is the third and final single released from English-Irish girl group The Saturdays' third studio album On Your Radar (2011). The single is their twelfth single released to date. The single was released on 13 November 2011 in the UK. It debuted and peaked at number 15 in the UK singles chart on 20 November 2011. This became their first single to not sell over 100,000 copies. There was less promotion for this single, than previous, due to Una Healy being pregnant at the time, and with tour rehearsals for the "All Fired Up Tour" taking place throughout November. However, on 1 November 2011, the band performed the track in the center of Oxford Street during the Christmas Lights switch-on. Following this, on 18 November 2011 The Saturdays performed the song at the Children in Need event, as well as on Loose Women and Daybreak the following week. The band also performed the track during the "All Fired Up Tour" which took place throughout December. The tour was used as a key source of promotion for the song, and the album, On Your Radar. On tour, the band performed the song in female Santa Claus outfit, whilst filling the arenas, such as Wembley Arena with snow. The video was also shot in Iceland with 'My Heart Takes Overs' peaking at #8 in the Scottish Charts once again providing that Scots have taste. What version should have been released?
A lot of people believe that the Digital Dog / Rockstone version should have been released instead of the original. This post has been edited by TheGrinch: Dec 10 2015, 03:12 AM |

Buzzjack Reception
2012 seems odd, when The Sats have said on more than one occasion that the album is slated for November 2011. A summer anthem released in winter? Right... lol, what are these girls like. I really liked it, definitely more the sort of Saturdays sound that I appreciate compared to their last couple of singles, even if it's a bit of a regression of sound compared to those two, and indeed is a little Issues meets Here Standing production wise, I agree with Liam. I've only heard it once and it's already stuck in my head so that's got to be a good thing. If there's a criticism I guess it's that it's not the sort of song you release an album off the back of but it's nice to finally see them release another ballad, hope it can stick around like Issues did. I LOVE IT, makes me think of winter ! The video should be epic! Apparently the album is getting released on 7th November. If so it will go up against Rihanna,Olly Murs, Pixie Lott & Cher llyod. OK, another couple of listens and I'm in love Brilliant choice of ballad single, should stay about longer than AFU and sell the album well! Beautiful! Got me on first listen, I ADORE it! But...where's Mollie's solo?! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Seriously. I'm a big sucker for a big power ballad! This ticks all the boxes from what I want out of a Saturdays ballad. Really, REALLY hoping it's a big hit for them. Iceland seems the perfect country to film a video for it! Personally... found that really disappointing. I love it! Already prefer it to 'All Fired Up'. I'm so glad they're finally releasing a ballad again. I really love it! Hope it can be as big as, if not bigger than 'Issues'! I really love this on first listen - whereas it took me a few listens to love Notorious and AFU! I hope this does as well as Issues. Also loving how it is very Vanessa and Rochelle centered, but missing the little Una middle 8! |

Well this is something rather amaziballs. This is an ace ballad from them, far more respectable than the terrible 'Issues'. This sounds like a #1 to me at any other time of year for them, I'm confident this will be another big regardless. The reason that The Saturdays aren't on The X Factor are because they're not critically acclaimed - look at Girls Aloud, it took them five years to finally get critical acclaim for their work, and unless The Saturdays get given some genuinely good material, they won't be. All this "Britain's Biggest Girlband" stuff is rubbish, when we all know they're only it by default. You do realise that since Girls Aloud split and the Sugababes got their 15th member, there have been other girlbands.. Whether you like it or not, they are not just Britain's biggest girlband by default, they are the only girlband (of late) that will still sell. Sugababes didn't even dare to release their latest single for people to buy, because it would flop. Girls Aloud's last single didn't go top 10. So cut the "by default" crap, they are Britain's biggest girlband right now and I can't see anyone coming along to take their crown anytime soon. Girls Can't Catch, SoundGirl etc would surely agree.. Gotta agree with Scherz on this one. Yes they are by default the biggest group but it's not like no-one else has came along during their time in the charts. Plenty of girl group competition for them has come and gone. And regarding xfactor, it really is swings and roundabouts with this. 'Notorious' didn't do that well, but give it the benefit of the doubt as on air/on sale was a huge contributor to screwing that up (btw, funny how on air/on sale is now "dead in the water" as it's been abandoned). 'All Fired Up' started off great.. but started falling and we're still waiting to see how that goes. Their ticket to xfactor this year really was the sucess they have this year pre-xfactor, and so far it's not looking that great imo... Really love the teaser, perfect for winter - can't wait to see the real thing! Also, haven't Westlife changed labels or something? But Unfortunately I don't think the Sats will get a slot The video looks fantastic. Beautifully shot. All memories of those Missing You beach scenes now firmly banished. Loving this at the moment. Probably their best single so far imo. Really hoping it does well for them...even if it doesn't get a brilliant peak, I hope it sticks around for a while - that seems to be their problem There's absolutely no buzz for this single at all. I've seen it twice on a music channel since it's premiere, and not heard it on the radio once. |

One of their absolute best, great vocal, a sledgehammer chorus that gets stuck in your head instantly and maybe their best video too.

I am really thankful to this song though.
It provided me with an interval at their tour so I could go and buy more vodka. |

You are vile.
This song is without a doubt one of their best singles. So stunning and such an anthemic, big power ballad. So gutted at how it performed so badly. Stunning vocals and beautiful harmonies. |

It under performed because it's boring AF, nobody outside The Saturdays fanbase remembers this song. Even with three weeks on the A-list Gentlman (which never even made the A list) still outpeaked this. Poor hens. Shit song. Oh well.
This is where my heart... ... |

It underperformed due to disappointing radio airplay / television airplay and releasing during an incredible busy period, I mean they had all they're promo reliant on that X-Factor performance which was typically taking off them in the last minute. 'Gentleman' was off the back off a number one smash. You poor deluded soul, I'll open up helplines for you to get some help for having such atrocious music taste. |

Joe you clearly must be intoxicated (still) from that vodka you bought during the interval.
