However in terms of weeks spent at #1, that does take the Double A Sides into account, i.e. 3 weeks at #1 with Mama/Who Do You Think You Are and 1 week at #1 with Holler/Let Love Lead the Way.) It's cool that after all these years they're all still within the Top 20 in terms of most songs written that reached #1, it's a great achievement that they're amongst the most successful songwriters in UK charts history.  Also: Richard Stannard (Biff) is 28th (9 #1 songs / 22 weeks at #1 with 9 singles) [6 Spice Girls songs & 1 Emma Bunton song + 2 Five songs] Matt Rowe is 74th (6 #1 songs / 17 weeks at #1 with 6 singles) [6 Spice Girls songs] Paul Wilson & Andy Watkins are joint 108th (5 #1 songs / 8 weeks at #1 with 5 singles) [3 Geri Halliwell songs & 2 Spice Girls songs] |

In terms of British females, Melanie C is in 1st place
And second place female overall only behind Madonna.  http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=7248943 [Technically they're tied with 13 #1 written songs each, but they're separated by Madonna having spent more weeks at #1 than Melanie has].In terms of females that have written the most #1 songs that they also have vocals on, then Melanie would be the top placed female (because one of Madonna's credited #1s is a Gary Barlow single). |
