BuzzJack Music Forum _ Television _ I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! • Series 20

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th July 2020, 01:40 PM

ITV have confirmed that I'm a Celeb will go ahead this year, with the contestants all kept apart for 2 weeks beforehand - and the families won't be flown out.

And like any year, the rumours already going around in the tabloids laugh.gif and there's some interesting names!:

Carole Baskin (of Tiger King fame; who according to The Mirror is asking for £350,000 to appear)
AJ Pritchard (former Strictly professional)
Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald in Corrie)
Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt in Corrie)
Mark Labbett (The Beast on The Chase)
Maura Higgins (Love Island person)
Eric Cantona (football legend)
Paul Merson (former footballer)
Jessie J ohmy.gif

Posted by: Andrew. 12th July 2020, 02:16 PM

No AJ tyvm drama.gif Here for Beverley, Lucy, Maura and lowkey Jessie lmao

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 12th July 2020, 02:27 PM

This is the last show Jessie J should do! It would really do her no favours at all laugh.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: Wall 12th July 2020, 02:33 PM

No way would AJ and Maura do it together!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th July 2020, 02:36 PM

They've probably approached both to see who will do it cheaper laugh.gif Interesting Maura is there, as they haven't had any reality "stars" for a few years now.

Eek! I didn’t even realise that laugh.gif

Beverley Callard I fear might really struggle on that show too

In a way though I hope this years series is more reminiscent of the Lady C series. I miss the conflict laugh.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 12th July 2020, 06:25 PM

It'll be the perfect time for Jessie to plug her Christmas album, Nick Knowles style laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 12th July 2020, 11:19 PM

Maura would be amazing TV, I feel like if they had to get anyone from Love Island it should be her

Posted by: StupidLove 12th July 2020, 11:41 PM

Not Jessie J and Carole Baskin laugh.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 13th July 2020, 01:45 PM

I was just thinking that I'd love to see Charles Ingram on this!

Posted by: Slick 13th July 2020, 01:51 PM

AJ definitely sees himself as some Z-list reality TV type I think, now that he's left Strictly, so this seems like the sort of thing he might do. I find him quite arrogant/unlikeable but he's extremely easy on the eye, so I wouldn't hate it.

Carole Baskin would be AMAZING. She should be at home with the animals!

When I saw her trending earlier, I was hoping it meant she was confirmed for this!

(apparently she's doing the videos as she needs the money for debt, which would make IAC more likely)

Posted by: Dobbo 14th July 2020, 03:31 PM

Chris Kamara or Karl Pilkington plz.

Posted by: Klaus 15th July 2020, 12:15 PM

omg not the contingency plan being a most haunted series in a spooky stately home

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th July 2020, 12:23 PM

The Sun are reporting that Vernon Kay has signed up for 250k!

Posted by: Jαsє 15th July 2020, 12:23 PM

Vernon Kay has apparently signed up. Yawn.

Posted by: Dobbo 15th July 2020, 02:36 PM

I think he'll be pretty good in this. Not Dean Gaffney levels but definitely a squealer during the trials.

Posted by: pippa 16th July 2020, 10:11 PM

Vernon Kay, will be the expensive signing with little return.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 16th July 2020, 10:28 PM

I wonder if he's returning to ITV presenting? He's been doing motorsport for the last few years

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 25th July 2020, 09:24 PM

John Bercow is being rumoured once again!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 4th August 2020, 07:10 PM

'I'm a Celebrity: A Jungle Story' will air this year to mark the 20th series, "celebrating the show's best moments over the years".

Posted by: Brett-Butler 7th August 2020, 10:23 AM

The new series will be filmed in a https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-53693651, which means it can be filmed in the UK. Will be interesting to see how it changes the tone of the series.

It will certainly be different! I love the format, but it does get stale after the first week. Undoubtedly it will come under criticism but it's really not the right thing to be doing flying so many people out to Australia at this current time. You can understand ITV wanting to have a major event telly series too.

Posted by: Dobbo 7th August 2020, 10:43 AM

Goodness me what a substantial change that's gonna be! Be like watching a different show, I'm certainly intrigued even more now.

Posted by: J🐠hq 7th August 2020, 12:21 PM

For a one-off that suits the current climate of the world, I think it works out quite well for them. I imagine it'll draw more curiosity viewers initially, will be cheaper and maybe easier to get celebs on board since they haven't got as far to travel (unless the holiday to Australia provided most of the appeal laugh.gif)

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th August 2020, 12:45 PM

Woah! I wasn't expecting that tbh, looking forward to how it goes though.

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 7th August 2020, 12:56 PM

Interesting idea but I’d personally rather they label the new show something other than I’m A Celebrity though and launch it as like a totally new concept show then have I’m A Celeb just not air this year and return next year in Australia.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th August 2020, 01:01 PM

They'll want that name recognition though, and I guess other than the location it'll be the exact same format

Posted by: dandy* 7th August 2020, 04:16 PM

A ruined castle in the UK?

Will they be theming the challenges around the UK also? Dropping sheep on the celebrities heads if they get a question wrong? Making them stick their beer soaked head into a box full of 1000 angry wasps?

QUOTE(Klaus @ Jul 15 2020, 01:15 PM) *
omg not the contingency plan being a most haunted series in a spooky stately home

I understand why but not this becoming a (semi) reality 💀

Staying in a castle in the UK in late November/December... I hope they have their thermals!!!

Not sure how it will fully work and how they can avoid making it look like a version of Celebrity Big Brother...

Posted by: Slick 7th August 2020, 04:28 PM

I actually love this idea. It would work really well if they made the challenges more UK/medieval too, so the whole thing was themed around the castle (if they have enough time to plan all of that.)

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th August 2020, 04:41 PM

I'm guessing the budget will be smaller being over here, so hopefully they can get bigger names!

Posted by: Dobbo 7th August 2020, 04:44 PM

I'm not sure... perhaps but then I can imagine some celebrities would want to wait until it's in its more traditional format.

I guess they could try and tempt some celebrities who haven't wanted to do the traditional format in Australia as well - I believe Philip Schofield said something along those lines (but he would also be a definite winner from the start I suspect laugh.gif)

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 8th August 2020, 11:13 AM

For me personally I think this would be a good idea to try and do an all star series.

I think around 90% of celebs who haven’t done the show and who perhaps were on standby for this series may have wanted the full Aussie experience like it just won’t be truly the same doing it here in the UK laugh.gif have an all star series then bring back the proper show in the same location next year.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th August 2020, 11:50 AM

That's a good idea! Who would everyone want to see?

Lady C

Posted by: ElectroBoy 8th August 2020, 12:16 PM

Be interesting to see what line-up they get. I'm guessing a bit pull of going on it is Australia and getting a free holiday

(oh and the mass exposure biggrin.gif)

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th August 2020, 12:17 PM

I'd imagine Carole Baskin probably isn't going to happen now

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th August 2020, 01:57 PM

More info already coming out!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 9th August 2020, 09:32 PM

The Sun are reporting that it will film at Gwrych Castle in North Wales - this location looks stunning! And has plenty of room outside for challenges

Ugh. Roman and Capital FM were annoying enough last year as it is. sad.gif I'd have to avoid them completely this year if Martin was doing it.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th August 2020, 12:44 PM

Carole Baskin has said to The Mirror, "I strive towards veganism so there is nothing so gross in the plant world, for me to be forced to eat on camera, as to make for entertaining television. The show has been criticized by animal lovers for the consumption of live creatures, and no amount of money would make me want to be part of something that disrespects nature that way."

So that rules her out laugh.gif

Posted by: Mack. 16th August 2020, 09:56 PM

Another rumoured celebrities:

Vinnie Jones
Jenny Ryan "The Vixen" from The Chase
Maya Jama
Baga Chipz
Tamzin Outhwaite
Amy Hart
Matt Baker
Joe Sugg
Jeremy Clarkson
John Barnes
Ronnie O'Sullivan
Susanna Reid

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 16th August 2020, 10:13 PM

A few of those like Baga Chipz tbf are only on those rumoured articles because they've said they want to be on the show laugh.gif

As divisive as he is, I reckon Jeremy Clarkson would be an outright winner from the start unless he got particuarly annoying

Posted by: Mack. 16th August 2020, 10:19 PM

Yes, a few for them are because they want to be on show. I'd amazed if Ronnie O'Sullivan was in hence he just become world snooker champion again.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 16th August 2020, 10:21 PM

Yeah Ronnie said a few years ago he was offered but turned it down, surely there's no way he'd go on it this year with his success?

No way, he'll go on it this year after his success. I would think the chances are very remote of him going on the show this year.

Posted by: Brett-Butler 16th August 2020, 10:57 PM

I'd say that we might get some of the bigger British stars this year, largely because a lot of them won't have been able to work this year due to the Coronavirus and therefore would be more welcoming of the lucrative I'm a Celeb paycheck that's on offer, especially given that they won't have to give up time flying to and from Australia.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 18th August 2020, 09:23 PM

Once again this year I'll be hoping Craig Charles can return!

Posted by: Jαsє 18th August 2020, 09:44 PM

Jeremy's one of my dream reality TV show contestants, so that would be amazing *.* Can't see him doing it tho sad.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 21st August 2020, 12:55 PM

Well that's that confirmed laugh.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 2nd September 2020, 04:23 PM

Carole Baskin has been announced for the new series of Dancing with the Stars, which rules her out of this but I'm quite surprised she's doing any reality TV competitions laugh.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 2nd September 2020, 05:10 PM

WHY can't Celebrity Big Brother be around. Carole would be iconic cheeseblock.png

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th September 2020, 09:43 PM

Minor news but the final is being reported to air on a Friday rather than the usual Sunday, to avoid the Strictly final.

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 7th September 2020, 09:56 PM

With news of Jessica Plummer from Eastenders exit confirmed I’m sure that they’ll be rumoured to do it by the papers.

I wonder who’s plausible to do it. It’s quite tricky trying to think who hasn’t actually done the show tbh.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 9th September 2020, 05:42 PM

Ladbrokes have the odds for Charles Ingram appearing down to just 5/2 - I'd love to see him appear!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 28th September 2020, 05:40 PM

The Australian version will be filming on the usual UK set this year laugh.gif

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 12th October 2020, 07:13 AM

First trailer is here, not long to go now!

Posted by: Monzo 22nd October 2020, 10:16 AM

The German version in January uses the UK set in Australia every year, so both stations can save money. That's why Germans planned to go to the UK, too, but they cancelled it just now.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 24th October 2020, 09:43 AM

The Sun have revealed some names after seeing them at a photoshoot for the show ohmy.gif

Russell Watson
Vernon Kay
Victoria Derbyshire
Beverley Callard
Jessica Plummer
AJ Pritchard

Quite happy with those tbh!

Posted by: ElectroBoy 24th October 2020, 10:47 AM

Yeah that's a fairly good line up if true

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 24th October 2020, 10:56 AM

Ruthie Henshall and Hollie Arnold are apparently two other names confirmed by them. Which overall, it does seem slightly week compared to previous years - though it being a different show this year makes it understandable.

And of course there's 2 more TBA + 1/2 late entries.

Posted by: Liаm 24th October 2020, 11:09 AM

Not really that fussed on seeing any of them bar Jessica and Beverley but that's a better calibre of names than I expected tbh!

Posted by: jlj 24th October 2020, 11:17 AM

Idk if it’s just me but does anyone else what a series more like the Lady C one?

I miss the days of jungle arguments, nowadays they always seem to all get on. Switch it up pls laugh.gif

As for the names I thunk it’s a good line up well I recognise them all anyways!

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 24th October 2020, 11:22 AM

I felt like that as well, but Iain Wright and James Haskell last year (and Jamie Lomas and Amir Khan bullying Iain Lee a few years ago) annoyed me so much I've decided I prefer when they get on laugh.gif

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 24th October 2020, 11:22 AM

The only names I recognise from that lto are Vernon and AJ although I've just looked them all up and they do all seem to have done something relatively notable.

Posted by: Liаm 24th October 2020, 11:26 AM

The reason I'm A Celeb is so boring for me is because they all always get on laugh.gif There's only so much you can do when that's the dynamic, every day it's just trial, chest thing, dinner, with some random convos about missing home and it gets boring really quick after a week or so and I usually dip out.

Posted by: Jack 24th October 2020, 11:45 AM

Apparently Jessie J is one of the last ones confirmed lmao.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 24th October 2020, 11:52 AM

Oh my god ! Hope that's true

Posted by: JosephStyles 24th October 2020, 12:11 PM

Arguments can be entertaining but I found Lady C wholly unlikeable so I'd rather not have a repeat of that. I think I'm a Celeb usually has enough going on not to need arguments for entertainment, personally!

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 24th October 2020, 12:34 PM

I'm not a fan of the arguments, mainly because I know how I would react if people weren't pulling their weight or were being 'bullies' and I feel bad for the people who just want to work as a team.

YES! Her series was wildly entertaining and perhaps the best ever. The fact she was SO eccentric made for such dynamite viewing laugh.gif

Agreed with Liam - it just plods and gets a little dull when everybody gets on.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 27th October 2020, 03:16 PM

The payments for each celeb have also been revealed ph34r.gif

Vernon Kay - £150,000
Beverly Callard - £125,000
Russell Watson - £100,000
Jessica Plummer - £75,000
Ruthie Henshaw - £75,000
Victoria Derbyshire - £75,000
Hollie Arnold - £50,000
AJ Pritchard - £50,000

Posted by: Brett-Butler 27th October 2020, 03:21 PM

That's actually less than I would expect for I'm A Celeb, it seems less than in previous series. Then again, I wouldn't complain if I was paid £50k to spend 3 weeks in Wales.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 27th October 2020, 03:28 PM

I wonder if they're scaling back and there will just be those 8 initially before another 2 go in?

Seems odd to have continually just 8 names touted

Posted by: Wall 27th October 2020, 03:40 PM

Quite a disappointing lineup tbh

Posted by: HeadlessJockey 27th October 2020, 11:06 PM

Apparently four-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Mo Farah has signed up. He twice did the long-distance double in London and Rio.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 27th October 2020, 11:16 PM

He seems like someone that would have done the show already tbh laugh.gif I’m surprised he hasn’t before .

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 27th October 2020, 11:16 PM

That's quite a big get if true!

If there's any predictable winner this year, it'll be AJ Pritchard I suspect.

Posted by: jlj 27th October 2020, 11:48 PM

Last years I’m A Celeb was quite good in the way that there wasn’t an obvious winner from the start.

Before that, for around 4 years I think it was obvious who the winner would be the minute they stepped foot in camp. Hopefully this year doesn’t have an obvious winner as well.

Mo Farah would be a good signing if that’s true!

Jessica I think will be popular! I follow her on Instagram and her stories are often funny she seems like a right laugh and past EE stars who’ve done the show almost always come across as well.

I thought Jac was an obvious winner - got 170 quid from a bet when she was 16/1 - dunno why she had such long odds to begin with

Posted by: jlj 28th October 2020, 12:17 AM

I did think she’d win towards the end but she only won by a very small margin so I wouldn’t say she was obvious.

But the likes of Harry, Toff, Scarlett and Vicky all won by huge percentages.

"I'm a Celebrity... A Jungle Story" is airing on November 8th! It's a best bits show it seems, and features Ant & Dec taking on their own Bushtucker Trials.

Posted by: Dobbo 28th October 2020, 11:38 AM

A good bet for the winner is always a young female, this has been the case for 4 of the past 5 seasons and Emily Atack was runner up in 2018 so came close to extending the run.

Posted by: Liаm 28th October 2020, 05:44 PM

I'd LOVE Jess to do that but I can see her being more of a Vanessa White type sad.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 28th October 2020, 11:32 PM

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 28th October 2020, 11:45 PM

Woah! Very happy with that

Posted by: RobBot 29th October 2020, 12:12 AM

If he has, I think he's a strong contender for winner from the get go, I get the impression Alfie was SUPER popular on Eastenders to the general public.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 29th October 2020, 12:24 AM

If I was predicting the top 3 from that list, I'd say (in no particular order) Beverley Callard, Shane Ritchie, AJ Pritchard.

Beverley in particular for me will be a bit of a dark horse I suspect

Posted by: jlj 29th October 2020, 02:07 AM

Shane Ritchie definitely seems the type who could do well on something like this tbh. But it depends how similar he is to the character of Alfie in real life. Him and Vernon Kay in the same series might split votes actually as I imagine that the both of them are quite similar in a way idk why I just get the feeling personality wise there’s a definite similarity.

Soap stars sometimes tend to do well on this though especially ones from Eastenders! We’ve had three winners (i think there could be more) who were ex or current EE actors at the time they went on the show.

Praying Jess gets good airtime though. I had a feeling she might’ve done it though as soon as it was confirmed that she was leaving EE. I’m rooting for her but I’ve legit been a fan of hers since the Neon Jungle days.

Posted by: GhoulOdyssey 29th October 2020, 02:22 AM

Had a look at their insta followers, to check back where they are after the show as they usually explode! As with previous years, you can't measure how someone will do at all by their social media. Andy last year had less than 10k followers before the show!

Mo Farah - 958k
AJ Pritchard - 597k
Jessica Plummer - 167k
Vernon Kay - 127k
Beverley Callard - 24.9k
Shane Ritchie - 19.8k
Victoria Derbyshire - 10.3k
Russell Watson - 3,175
Ruthie Henshall - 2,980
Hollie Arnold - 2,223

I expected Shane to have more tbh, but he doesn't really post much. I'd suspect he will have the biggest follower gains from the show

AJ Pritchard has come down with COVID apparently. He’s isolating and producers are hoping he can still take part in the show !

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th November 2020, 12:21 AM

Oh dear! I guess he could be a late arrival though?

Posted by: Andrew. 8th November 2020, 12:29 AM

I think it's best he gets some good rest and withdraws from the series x

Posted by: jlj 8th November 2020, 12:31 AM

If he’s just begun isolating he might not be able to go in on day one but with something like this it’s probably better he withdraws.

When does the show begin airing like shouldn’t they all be self isolating or something now?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th November 2020, 10:14 PM

Here they are!

I will be shocked if Mo doesn't win (if he doesn't quit), although has there ever been a non white winner?

Surprised Victoria is doing this. I hope she does well.

I hope Vernon gets the shows his true colours and is actually a nasty person edit that quite a few of the older men get. Especially as from whenever I've seen him on stuff he mocks campness in men.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 8th November 2020, 10:50 PM

I'm not sure how well Mo will do tbh, he comes across as quite dull in TV appearances I've seen him on?

Though that could just be nerves and hopefully that's not the case

Posted by: Liаm 8th November 2020, 10:54 PM

Giovanna sticks out to me as a potential winner, you can so see the "she misses her kids but she's strong and gets through it" story for her but I guess that would be too similar to Jacqueline Jossa. That is one of the archetype I'm A Celeb winners along with "young white female reality star" though laugh.gif

Nope, John Fashanu came 2nd, that's the best we've had. I'm with WhoOdyssey kinda, on paper as a name he seems like he'd walk it but idk he doesn't seem to be the sort of person who would define the series or really shine as a personality. He seems the sort who'd come like 5th? I can imagine him doing trials and being competent, getting votes for that, but falling short when it came to the final few big personalities or stars of the series.

I can see that tbh! You can imagine him really taking it far too seriously and being nasty and coming like 7th despite being a big name who on paper you'd expect to do well.

Posted by: Klaus 8th November 2020, 11:21 PM

It’s definitely going to be another year free of conflict imo!

I think Jordan will do quite well. He’ll be one of the least known going in but I think he has the northern charm to build up support.

Victoria’s the one I’m most surprised is doing it! It’s not really a name I would have considered for this type of show but I really like her.

It’s weird how Vernons just disappeared from our screens over the years, I actually wondered what he was doing when Family Fortunes came back the other week laugh.gif

Let’s hope AJ is one of the first out, I still can’t believe he gave up Strictly for this.

Vernon's been doing sport coverage (F1 I think?) for the last few years

Posted by: Mack. 8th November 2020, 11:29 PM

We'll see if Shane Richie is 'nice' as he says he is on the show.

Posted by: jlj 8th November 2020, 11:29 PM

I can’t see who’ll clash on this series as well. But I would love a conflict series. But given this years been a bit naff I think they’ll want to keep it light hearted and high spirited. I loved the Lady C series but a lot of people didn’t. I mean I’m A Celeb is different to Big Brother in that you see people in a different light in a more positive way and it doesn’t centre around drama but pls someone cause trouble!

Is AJ still going in as far as we know?

Seems like a potentially really strong line-up! I actually know who they all are apart from a couple. laugh.gif

Also I actually quite enjoy it when they all get on? I don't think that automatically makes it boring - if they're genuinely nice people then I think it comes across really sweet and heartwarming. I'd find drama for the sake of drama much more dull.

I have to also agree that the series feels so fresh. I think because on paper it kinda sounded not so great the thought of moving the show to Wales laugh.gif but it’s exceeded expectations so far. I love it.

It was getting to a point where it felt very samey and predictable when it was in Australia so this fresh feel definitely feels good. It’s still pretty much the same show at its core but it does very much feel revamped and fresher and I think this setting is perfect.

Posted by: Klaus 16th November 2020, 10:49 PM

What else would there be to show? Of course Jordan doing a trial and confronting his fears was going to be the focus, it's a pretty big deal and it's what the viewers wanted to see. If he's still the focus in a few episodes later then I could understand the criticisms of 'overuse', but I'd say it was perfectly reasonable that he got the spotlight in last night's episode.

It wasn't just the trial though was it - he dominated everything pre the trial too.

Basically anyone else talking - cut to Jordan in the hut to hear his opinions. Even Mo telling his story, it flipped into Jordan and him.

Surely once you made this opinion you kept noticing him over and over? That's what the human brain does! If anything I saw more of Jess Plummer giving her cut away opinions when she didn't really do anything prominent last night.

I don't think he dominated in any devious way to get screen time, just that he has been the most prominent based on his fears! See what you think after tonight where the trial will go three ways, Beverley seemed the most nervous for this so perhaps it'll be the Beverley show tonight?

Posted by: lewistgreen 17th November 2020, 10:08 PM

It’s early days but apart from Beverley the women have been a bit quiet and a tad on the dull side so far hopefully that changes .

Posted by: Calum 17th November 2020, 10:32 PM

I think the majority of them are kind of fading into the background a bit - like they're all 'there', but just not commanding the screen as much as Bev, Vernon, Shane and Jordan. Hopefully some of them are given trials to do soon so we see them a bit more, but feel like it's going to be an alternation of those four for some time?

Posted by: Klaus 17th November 2020, 10:48 PM

I don’t think the rest have big enough personalities which is what I worried about when the cast was revealed. You need more ‘fun, bubbly’ personalities, I think on the whole they’re largely just ‘nice’. Jessica’s getting a lot of ‘diary room’ moments but I never see her in the rest of it laugh.gif

I don’t know much about the newbies (have never heard of the woman) so not sure what they’ll be like...

Posted by: jlj 17th November 2020, 11:24 PM

Tonight’s show was better in that we seen Hollie (MBE) and Giovanna tonight as they had the castle coin challenge and then we seen Jessica more tonight too. So we are seeing more of people now.

I’d say AJ was probably the least shown person tonight.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 18th November 2020, 10:27 AM

Yeah the editing was better in the 2nd ep with Giovanna and Hollie Arnold MBE getting some screentime. It felt a lot more balanced that Monday's show. Think the show would be better if it was longer though given how much time is given to the Trials (I know it does go to an hour and a half at times/ when the eliminations start).

Posted by: Liam.k. 18th November 2020, 06:13 PM

I did like how Giovanna and Hollie both looked at each other and immediately said "Jordan" for who said "I wet the bed until I was 15"! laugh.gif I expected them to be pretty bland but it was actually quite nice to see some more them tonight.

They all did well but Beverley especially smashed that challenge! Just got on with it, no bother.

Posted by: jlj 18th November 2020, 06:25 PM

Beverley I’d say will almost definitely be top female but I think it’s a male winner this year!

I like that we’re seeing a bit more of Jess I hope she comes out of her shell.

I keep voting for her and Giovanna for the trials but they’re probably wasted votes tbh it’ll be Jordan on his own or Jordan and someone else until they decide who does them themselves when the vote switches to who we want to stay. I do think that once you’ve done a trial the following night you should be exempt from the vote so we get different people.

Past campmates in recent series have said there were a lot of major arguments that weren't shown! I want to say Jacqueline Jossa said so herself.

It's no coincidence that pretty much every series has almost been completely devoid of almost any conflict since Lady C's series.

Posted by: Liam.k. 19th November 2020, 10:30 AM

I find enjoyment in the survival/character-building aspect, seeing how different personalities work in unusual circumstances and around people they may not usually cross paths with. Take Jordan for instance, I think we were anticipating him to be the one to always say "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" but he's risen to the challenge and pushed through his fears. I find that sort of growth and inner-strength really encouraging. I'd much rather see that than bitterness and arguments and people falling apart. That's how the likes of X Factor destroyed themselves. I don't find much entertainment in watching weakness.

Posted by: dandy* 19th November 2020, 10:33 AM

I don’t think that’s true cause there was a few arguments I remember last year with Ian Wright , James Haskell and some other guy (can’t remember his name) . I can’t see there being any arguments with this lot though .

It feels like they have it so easy this year and the creepy crawlies, at least for now, aren't as grim (I doubt they're going to bring a huntsman spider over here)

I'm missing that big international personality.

I'm not disliking it, but unless something gets kicked up a gear or two, I'm not going to get invested. I hate that Jordan will be getting every trial and the public being "LOLLLLLL!!!!!!!!", "He's my winner!!" and "Aww he was amazing in the end!" with his predictable game plan that never seems to fail. laugh.gif

I'm really hoping Giovanna pulls a Jacqueline and comes out her shell more to actually nab it towards the end.

Honestly, I really think it’s unfair to say it’s a gameplan! He is genuinely terrified, there’s no faking that.

It’s easy to go why’s he on the show then but (a) it’s a challenge, (b) obviously money and © it’s a great platform for him starting in his career.

Posted by: Liam.k. 19th November 2020, 12:53 PM

He was on the verge of having a panic attack before the snake trial, definitely no faking that.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 19th November 2020, 01:04 PM

Be interesting to see what happens this evening as he was mainly calmed down by Shane last time - he will only have Ant and Dec this time.

Posted by: Klumpkin 19th November 2020, 01:08 PM

Yeah I agree there's no way he could be faking that. We've seen both real and fake reactions before and that was not fake laugh.gif Also everyone reacts to fear in different ways so I think it's unfair to say he's making a ploy for screen-time. Obviously it does do that as a secondary effect but if we never had situations that brought out these reactions what would be the point in the show??

I do agree on the point about making people immune after they've just done a trial. Would be great to switch-up the characters and giving everyone a chance to shine!

I can believe that they don’t show arguments. The Lady C series was epic but it did get some complaints didnt it. But what made that series was the fact there was some conflict in camp and that it wasn’t a happy camp who were constantly well fed laugh.gif

Tbh I know it’s not the same show but Love Island as well another ITV reality show has become more PC too. I think they’re wanting the show to be seen as a family show and not an adult show. I still enjoy the show but it’s definitely making me miss CBB I just like seeing personalities clash laugh.gif

Posted by: Qween 19th November 2020, 03:31 PM

Just dropping by to say I'm finding it a massive struggle this year. It all feels so stale, boring and predictable. It's hardly a new observation, but it's like a weird mix of Big Brother, Crystal Maze and the normal show and yet comes out as less enjoyable than any of those. I'm also VERY conscious of the padding this year - perhaps due to only watching this and Bake Off on 'actual' TV now - but it just feels like there's about 20 minutes of actual CONTENT each night which is not great.

Posted by: Dobbo 19th November 2020, 03:51 PM

I'm enjoying the series so far, like the new lick of paint & Ant/Dec getting to use new material related to the castle theme.

Line-up is strong too imo. Also on the side that whilst arguments/conflict can be entertaining, that's no good if the show relies heavily on it. I think 2015 is always brought up because it was so much on the conflict side and was a one-off. If it was like that every year that'd be boring as well. Plus that's not correct in that they haven't shown arguments since. We had Ian Lee vs everyone (mainly vs Dennis/Rebekah) in 2017 then we had Ian Wright vs Andrew Maxwell and James vs everyone last year.

It's a good bit of escapism telly and a welcome distraction for the next 3 weeks.

I agree, it's easy watching. I like the drama sometimes, but it is really uncomfortable to watch and the producers can give you a good/bad edit depending on how they want it to go. Clearly the big difference this year is the trial takes place the following day, so from an editing/filming perspective I can imagine that is a huge challenge. There is certainly some padding, but they have to really and they haven't been able to do the 2 camps thing this year either. I suspect there will be something coming up later which mixes it up.

I also agree about the trials, the same thing happens every year but the producers must love it. Jordan's team must be loving it too as it is clearly going to do wonders for his career. I do think out of all the reality shows with celebs, I'm A Celeb has the biggest effect on people's careers?

100% on that last part! The biggest ones in the last few years have been Joel Dommett, Scarlett Moffatt and Emily Atack - and Jordan is of the same demographic as them.

You can go back even further too - the boosts for the likes of Joe Swash, Stacey Solomon, Phil Tufnel, Christopher Biggins, Peter Andre and Katie Price. Then you have others like Mark Wright, Myleen Klass, Jimmy Bullard who have done very well for themselves too amongst countless others I suppose.

Aww I'm absolutely loving this series

Posted by: Jade 19th November 2020, 10:46 PM

I'm liking it too and today's episode was probably the most enjoyable so far! My favourite is Jordan though so I do appreciate his airtime laugh.gif but not just him, the prank task was good fun too and the dance to S Club 7 towards the end made me smile. No pictures of Jane McDonald this year ohmy.gif kink.gif

(as much as I like Jordan, I'm glad someone else is getting a turn now - him getting all 12 wraps up his many days of tasks perfectly)

Posted by: Houdini 19th November 2020, 10:53 PM

Jordan must have the win in the bag already. I can't imagine anyone getting close to stopping him from winning this series.

Regarding the series so far I think it has been alright but it doesn't feel like must watch TV to me, I had a choice between this and another show on at the same time tonight and I decided to watch the other show instead and I don't feel overly motivated to catch up. There is a feeling that if I miss 1 or 2 episodes I wont be out of the loop based on how this first week has been, it feels like without the trials/challenges there would be nothing memorable to see. The viewing figures must be really high though as a change of location must be a big draw for lapsed viewers who have dipped in and out of watching the programme such as myself.

Sent me west they’ve been in there like 4 days and already getting emotional at the personal items? Wouldn’t mind they are only in Wales this time not Australia laugh.gif it’d be weeks on Big Brother before they’d do anything from people at home.

Also found it random Mo winning as so far he’s shown no personality. Part of me thinks it’ll be a sporty challenge.

Posted by: Dobbo 20th November 2020, 03:50 PM

Think it's just putting hands in holes so doesn't look too sporty?

Liking both the new arrivals. Ruthie is instantly the most entertaining woman there (which doesn't say much but still). Jordan, Vernon & Shane are making this series so far.

Poor Mo! laugh.gif One of the most genuine nice guys around, he's got a good aura. Ruthie's story was also thoroughly entertaining, she's one to watch! Tonight's show was a good one and had plenty to be entertaining from! I'm glad that the girls lost as it'll give some of them a bit more screentime tomorrow!

Also super impressed with Giovanna! Literally had a snake covering her eyes and she still came first on that challenge!

Jess is 100% getting voted for the next trail laugh.gif

Posted by: jlj 22nd November 2020, 11:23 PM

I’m so happy Jess is getting a trial voted for by the public. I think she could potentially get a few by the way she acts in them but she was due some airtime. AJ was as well tbh so I’m glad the way the public are voting for the trials now and that different people are getting them.

I think Jess is gonna face her fears and we’ll see a stronger side to her. She’s already managed to do them she’s just not focused on the time limit but she’s not a quitter!

I was screaming at the boys actually bringing back the menu of their meal they won though laugh.gif

Posted by: Tafty 23rd November 2020, 09:59 PM

Jess was so good during the trial. She only got one star, but she handled it brilliantly and better than AJ, which surprised me as I thought she'd be petrified!

Giovanna is such a sweetheart. I love her so much.

I can’t bare Shane Ritchie. A perfect match for his ex wife two c**** in a pod.

Poor Jess as well getting spoke of behind her back like that interesting to hear AJ say she was petrified when he was the one yelping as well.

We need Hollie screen time however! She was pretty much missing from tonight’s show.

To be fair he was but Hollies been missing pretty much the entire show. Aside from the one time she introduced herself with the MBE and then when she sang the chorus of Rise Up we just haven’t seen her at all.

AJ surprisingly got the most screen time tonight which was a first!

I mean I really don’t think Shane and Vernon said anything bad ? there literally saying what most of us would be saying watching . People that do show there scared and scream a lot do end up getting voted by the public a lot . I think Jess would have possibly been voted again but she wasn’t a screamish and a lot more calm this trail .

Posted by: LMLou 23rd November 2020, 10:50 PM

It’s more saying things like “why come on this show if you’re scared”. Well maybe the want to face their fears, also they did face their fears they just struggled more with the technical side of the trial

Shane and Vernon showing their nasty side that was always going to come through.
Neither of them appeal nothing more than arrogant which was my preconception of them both prior to appearing on the show.

When is elimination number 1? Is it on Friday as the show finishes on a Friday this year?

I expect we might have two more trials to be voted for by us and then it’ll shift to who we keep but I hope they do a immunity task first

I love/hate how I'm a Celebrity is the kind of show where it just takes ONE comment to change the whole public perception of someone. It's scary to look at Facebook comments etc and see how much people get invested and start throwing all sorts of names/insults at people for what could just be a bad day for someone.

THIS ! It was the same for Big Brother when that was still on as well . I still like Shane and Vermon personally, don’t think they said anything too bad yesterday at all .

Posted by: Tafty 24th November 2020, 07:48 PM

Ngl, I low-key assumed this would be the way Shane would turn out (Vernon less so/didn't really give much thought about him tbh)! Think me and a couple of others said a similar thing in the chat before the show started. It's just one night for now, but we'll see - I genuinely think it's just going to get worse. Also, the voting for the trial at that point had closed, so that wasn't a result of it at all, we'll likely see the effects of that, tonight.

Giovanna is a firm favourite for me. She's just so lovely, warm and kind! wub.gif

I’m glad Jess’s again has another trial as it’s getting her screen time a shame she’s paired with Shane who’ll make it all about him but as it’s a drinking trial it could be a good one and a breakthrough moment for her if she smashes it.

She's slowly but surely getting more and more airtime and also, everyone ik in has her in their top 3/celebs they like - probably the most consistent/mentioned (but those who have mentioned Jordan LOOOOVE him)

I wouldn’t rule be ruling her out and, yeh, she’ll get more airtime as the eliminations start and she starts doing the trials as well. Posted by: jlj 25th November 2020, 11:23 PM

I’m also a bit surprised Hollie of all people ended up with either the first or second most amount of votes.

After how well that trial went down with Jess and Shane I was pretty sure it would be both of them again.

Jess is having a real journey now though. I just hope she doesn’t go back to getting almost no screen time she had the most coverage she’s ever had tonight and she’s won over people too.

The shows quite random this series with the coverage.

We’re seeing more of the women now to what we did in the first few days (but I suppose part of that is because first of all they lost the live trial and then tonight it just so happened it was all women who picked a red stick thing to do the challenge).

Mo and AJ didn’t get much coverage tonight but tomorrow it might fall back to Jess not being shown much although I hope that’s not the case.

Was gonna split votes and give some to Beverley though but I ended up just giving them all to Jess.

I don’t think she’s gonna go first though I think she’s won people over the last few days and she’s begun to get more coverage as well.

Interested to see how close this series is when it concludes. I don’t think there’s a clear winner yet think we’re in for another close year in terms of the voting percentages.

If I had to guess either Ruthie or Hollie will go tomorrow

Posted by: Jαsє 26th November 2020, 10:14 PM

I think Ruthie will be first out.

I feel Hollie's gonna be one of those who very randomly does a lot better than expected laugh.gif

Maybe Victoria could surprise in a Kate Garraway kind of way? Perhaps not to that extent but could see her lasting a bit longer

Voted Jordan x5

Voted for Jess on the App also.

I agree I don’t think there’s a clear winner this year yet either . I think Jordan was at one point but I feel like he’s lost a bit of momentum and isn’t the clear favourite anymore .

Given 5 to Russell

So bored of “it’s both of yous”.

I want Jess and Aj to survive another day tbh

Posted by: Klumpkin 26th November 2020, 11:03 PM

I'd quite like Russell to go! I think he's contributed the least to camp so far. I thought Hollie would be the first to go but I think her screentime for both the coin challenge and the trial and the fact she came out good on both of those will help her.

Posted by: jlj 26th November 2020, 11:09 PM

It’s even more of an interesting first elimination when there isn’t any immunity as well!

That was my second favourite trial this year laugh.gif

Not long until we see who goes!

Posted by: troylovesmusic 27th November 2020, 10:18 PM

Not too surprised Hollie left first thought it would be either her or Ruthie .

Posted by: jlj 27th November 2020, 10:24 PM

Hollie going first wasn’t too much of a shock. I think that whole “MBE” thing from launch night stuck with her throughout the whole series to a lot of viewers unfortunately.

But she was almost invisible within the highlights show as well so from a viewing perspective I don’t think we’ll notice much.

So the next vote off is on Sunday?

Posted by: FestiveOdyssey 27th November 2020, 10:33 PM

I do wonder really how on earth she got voted for the trial the other day!

Posted by: Jαsє 27th November 2020, 10:37 PM

That love in towards the end of the episode was both pitiful and nauseating to watch mellow.gif

I'm actually surprised Hollie left. Was so sure it was gonna be Ruthie.

Posted by: jlj 27th November 2020, 11:40 PM

Does anyone else feel Hollie didn’t expect to go? I think her reaction to leaving was genuine in that she was gutted but I didn’t so much buy her I'm superstitious and I had a feeling it would be me response.

I don’t think she expected it to be her for one minute. But I did feel for her. Hopefully she doesn’t open Twitter anytime soon huh.gif

Are we thinking Ruthie really was second bottom then? When they reveal voting stats sometimes it confirms that a few of the times when they say that both for the trial and elimination they really were the person next in line in terms of votes. Sometimes it’s random though laugh.gif

We must be due two double eliminations before the final. They usually do one the day before when they go from a final 5 to a final 3 don’t they. I think we could get one on Sunday perhaps and then the second one on Thursday.

Posted by: Klaus 28th November 2020, 11:10 PM

poor Victoria, she was all over tonight’s episode yet is often left on the cutting room floor for the main show! I think it will be a big shock for the camp when she leaves.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 29th November 2020, 07:49 AM

Just watched the unseen bits episode from last night and I actually really enjoyed it. It was actually unseen bits we hadn’t seen before and we saw more from certain people we don’t normally see much of in the normal show ! Victoria , Mo , and Russell in particular.

Posted by: Steve201 29th November 2020, 03:13 PM

Yeh it’s the best episode of the week usually, they show so much crap on the normal episodes it’s hard to see their personalities with the footage.

The chat about Victoria’s breast cancer was quite touching

Posted by: FestiveOdyssey 29th November 2020, 10:45 PM

Tomorrow will be interesting, Victoria to go perhaps? I expect they'll have a double sooner or later as well

Posted by: jlj 29th November 2020, 11:37 PM

If it finishes on Friday we could be getting two doubles although it depends on how many are in the final this year.

I’m not surprised Ruthie went she was hardly shown tonight. However Beverley being the it might be you tonight I suspect could push some votes for her tomorrow even though I don’t think she was actually second bottom I think she was perhaps a random choice for that.

Victoria may well go tomorrow I’d have said her or Russell but I think Russell will do tomorrow’s trial so that might save him.

Giovanna got quite a winners edit tonight however I think her missing out on that treat will really surge her vote in a big way!

Russell's doing the trial tonight and it looks brilliant!

Giovanna now fave to win with some bookies!

Posted by: jlj 30th November 2020, 05:05 PM

Russell is safe tonight then if he’s doing the trial! Not surprised Giovanna is the new fave to win either last nights show would’ve surged her votes in a big way she got a lot of support following her not getting any treats from home.

Seen a few accounts post that it’s a double elimination tonight! (Panics and votes another 5 times for Jess).

I think the news that his grandmother has passed away, but he isn't being told until he leaves the castle as he would want to do her proud, is more likely to motivate votes. Can see him pushing top 5 now.

Yes!! Finally someone sees what I see. Vernon to win for me. He’s been consistently good to watch I think and feel he’d benefit career wise too which he kind of needs.

Nah Manchild is awful!!!!!!!

Vernon to win

I like G, but she hasn't really done enough to warrant winning - the trials she done have been so minor and whilst she's a lovely person, I think Vernon has done more

Posted by: troylovesmusic 3rd December 2020, 10:31 PM

Jordan or Vernon will be acceptable for me . Gi just hasn’t done enough to warrant winning but I have a sneaky feeling she will.

I don’t think Jac was favourite at this point despite winning. The bookies had Andy as favourite. He’s another I can’t understand the popularity off

I remember Andy being as low as 1/3 on the final day - bookies seemed absolutely certain he was gonna walk it

It's looking to be very close between Jordan and Gi!

So I'm still thinking a Jordan win if Vernon is 3rd, and the vote reopens.

I'm glad Shane has gone, he was great for the camp but not my winner! He did bring out the best and worst in other people and was an essential member.

Also I have been cackling to myself all day about this but Giovanna in the trial literally sounds like Toad from Mario Bros screaming away and I can't get it out my head laugh.gif Compare these two videos!

Probably due to her famous Busted Husband campaigning hard for her online .... rolleyes.gif if she wins it will literally be because of her following before the show which is pretty big and who she’s married to .

EDIT: Her brother is Mario who use to be in Towie as well laugh.gif

Ha how good was the celebrity cyclone, always my favourite trial of the series. How good was Vernon - only the second water flow took him off his feet, incredible!!

Don’t actually mind who wins now, all are decent camp mates!

Will be ready for a return to Australia next year, need that warm weather feel to the show when watching in November time, the chill of the contestants after the cyclone confirmed for me lol

Vernon needs to place no higher than third.

I wonder what individual trials they'll get tonight - going to predict eating for Giovanna due to both Jordan and Vernon already doing that earlier on in the series

I think rats are Jordan's only fear that he hasn't faced yet so maybe something involving them for him lol

Posted by: Santa Klaus 4th December 2020, 10:03 AM

Yeah I think Jordan will get the head one or where he’s covered in all the creatures and then Vernon a more physical one?

It’s funny that it’s largely been Jordan & Gi as the two frontrunners but those two have never really been close in camp, I think it’s rare they’ve actually shared screentime so, in a way, it feels odd for them to share an interview!

Posted by: dandy* 4th December 2020, 10:35 PM

I really thought Jordan was going to win, I'm surprised!

But happy for them both and I don't think it will matter whether Jordan won or not, he'll still have lots of opportunities now from this.

Posted by: Klumpus 4th December 2020, 10:39 PM

I thought this was going Jordan's way by that final episode! Last in the trial and last to be interviewed whilst the votes were still open felt all set up for him to win. Especially with the fact his trajectory was just like Jacqueline from last year who won.

Having said that I'm so happy for Giovanna to win. Couldn't have been a nicer, caring, genuine person and you can tell from every campmate that they don't have a bad word to say about her! She showed that being a loving person is the way forward and that it's never boring to be that maternal figure. Also love that she was genuinely shocked to win and just couldn't believe that millions of people voted for her to win!

also quite surprising that in such a male-dominated series by voting stats that we have a female winner! another testament to her character heart.gif

Next year's winner will be...

Billie Piper

Posted by: Santa Klaus 4th December 2020, 10:41 PM

Awww no, do feel Jordan deserved it more but Gi is an absolutely lovely person.

Massive kudos to the production team for working absolute miracles in getting a series set up this year though! The castle setting looked amazing and looked like it was designed for the show! Impressive to get a trial and castle coin challenge every day too, especially some of the set ups for the trials considering they were all built within the castle. I think the series did lack some of jeopardy and high scales of the trials (e.g. the wire ones, underwater) and missed those extra bonus challenges/splitting up the camp/immunity challenges of normal years but it’s absolutely understandable and just pressive we got such a well-made show (and cyclone!!) in the end!

Lots of hilarious moments throughout the series too, the drinking trial being one of my favourites wub.gif

Vouch for all this! To turn this situation around and give us a show just up to par with the regular series in a new setting has been remarkable! I'm glad they really went for the castle/royalty theme and played into the strengths that has as a theme to characterise this series as something that will stand in it's own right against the jungle series. I agree the challenges could've been more 'physical/perilous' at times but considering the turn around time they would've had to make this work they did excellently! Probably my favourite reality TV show to watch each year and they've done a cracking job again wub.gif

Posted by: Santa Klaus 4th December 2020, 10:44 PM

When Jordan was voted the first camp leader:

STOP THE COUNT!!!!

Posted by: Klumpus 4th December 2020, 10:45 PM

we should've known that the only two camp leaders to be voted in were our top two! I reckon voting stats would've remained pretty similar throughout the show! Maybe Jess would've seen an upturn in results but otherwise I reckon it stayed pretty similar.

Posted by: Slade 4th December 2020, 10:46 PM

Really enjoyed this series, it's been great escapism during lockdown and the one programme that my whole household like to watch and bond over. Really going to miss tuning in every night! Congrats to Giovanna, she's a lovely person and I admire her glass half full attitude. I'm of course gutted for Jordan as he really achieved so much in there and provided a lot of entertaining moments, but 2nd is incredible for him really and I'm sure they're both going to do so well from this. heart.gif

I am glad Giovanna won. I called it after 4 or 5 days into the series - she's just so down-to-earth and lovely and the I'm A Celeb fans clearly love that (Vicky Pattinson, Stacy Solomon, Kerry Katona, Charlie Brooks, Scarlett Moffat etc...)

I found Jordan somewhat entertaining but generally quite frustrating to watch so I'm glad he didn't win.

Not surprised at all from Global lol

Posted by: Santa Klaus 5th December 2020, 12:56 PM

It maybe makes it petty from me but that’s one of the main reasons why I can’t ever engage with any of the Global output because their pettiness is incredibly bizarre, so immature and childlike. People aren’t going to flock in their millions over to Radio 1 just because you acknowledge it’s existence.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 5th December 2020, 02:12 PM

What a weird attitude from the station!

Posted by: Slade 7th December 2020, 08:56 AM

Just listened to Jordan's interview with Greg James on R1 and he said ITV struggle to get the rights for songs by The Beatles, Queen or Disney music, so if there was something they wanted to chat about that they didn't want shown on TV, then someone would sing a song by one of them at the same time laugh.gif

Hope we get the voting stats soon! Well, at least for the final, as I don't think they released all of them last year

I had a feeling it was close . Jordan was probably playing catch up in the vote as that final episode was a very good one for him . I reckon he could of possibly took the win if the vote was open for a little longer.

Quite an interesting anecdote from gameshow blog Bother's Bar!

QUOTE
Finally have something to contribute, although not that exciting all things considered and maybe a bit “Digital Spy” but who cares Was speaking to someone who knows Prince of The Castle Jordan North and they said that he only agreed to go in very last minute having been asked earlier in the summer then turned down. Jordan then revealed this on Radio 1 last week – but what he didn’t reveal (Obviously) was that someone didn’t drop out, someone was basically chucked out. During the promo shoot a few weeks before this person was apparently so vile and hard to work with that they got told they were off the show – which matches up with the more nicey nicey vibe they’ve had in camp this year (and recent years). Would obviously be more interesting if I knew who this was, and I’ve not found a name yet despite the line up being hardly a secret when the promo shoots are going on. Oh well. Back to having nothing interesting to say next time.

Posted by: FestiveOdyssey 30th December 2020, 12:24 PM

I was bored a while ago and noted down all the celebs' Instagram followers right after they were announced - here are the comparisons with where they are at now!

Giovanna Fletcher: 1.4m - 1.9m (+500k)
Mo Farah - 958k - 1.1m (+142k)
AJ Pritchard - 597k - 734k (+137k)
Jessica Plummer - 167k - 344k (+177k)
Vernon Kay - 127k - 684k (+557k)
Jordan North - 90k - 655k (+565k)
Beverley Callard - 24.9k - 152k (+127.1k)
Shane Ritchie - 19.8k - 259k (+239.2k)
Victoria Derbyshire - 10.3k - 117K (+106.7k)
Russell Watson - 3,175 - 85.2k (+82,025)
Ruthie Henshall - 2,980 - 80.7k (+77,720)
Hollie Arnold - 2,223 - 41.4k (+38,877)

Big gains particularly for the top 3! Poor Hollie

Posted by: Dobby Helms 30th December 2020, 02:02 PM

I finally finished watching this a few days back.

Would have preferred Jordan or Vernon winning but Giovanna did warm to me during the series. Pretty strong top 5 actually (I think Mo placed above AJ even if they technically exited together). Astonished that the winning margin was even tighter than last series which I thought would never be topped.

Very strong series I think, one of the better ones of the last decade. Helped by a change in scenery & it being more of a distraction from the real world than usual.

Still haven't got round to watching Ant & Dec's trial they filmed before the series.
