BuzzJack Music Forum _ Television _ Netflix

Hey everyone, I just got Netflix and I was wondering what tv shows are good to watch and if anyone has any recommendations?

I'm going to start with Pretty Little Liars and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt but I'm not sure after that.

Posted by: Liаm 9th August 2015, 02:54 PM

Orange Is The New Black 100%.

Also Bojack Horseman if you like Family Guy/American Dad etc and Community as an easy to watch hilarious sitcom.

Posted by: LexC 9th August 2015, 03:04 PM

If you can get the US catalogue then there's Parks & Recreation and Bob's Burgers which I thoroughly recommend.

Yass. I've just started watching, and I've already finished season 1 in a matter of days. kink.gif

Like Lex said, try get the US version for Parks & Recreation, that is a MUST. I'd also recommend Once Upon a Time.

Posted by: Maurice Horan 9th August 2015, 03:44 PM

Rita is great series too.

Posted by: Regina 9th August 2015, 03:51 PM

Community. It's essential.
Gotham is pretty amaze too if you've not seen it.

Posted by: T Boy 9th August 2015, 04:18 PM

What pisses me off is that they sometimes pull some just as I'm getting into them sad.gif

Orange Is The New Black is very good and Community is very funny. I'm currently addicted to Arrested Development.

Breaking Bad is one I really enjoyed but it's not for the faint hearted.

Les Revenants

French show that is quite brilliant and among the best shows I've seen in years.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 11th August 2015, 11:08 AM

It takes me hours to decide what to watch on NF.

Posted by: Kl▲mzee 11th August 2015, 11:18 AM

Orange Is The New Black and Les Revenants especially are great shows! Currently watching American Horror Story and hoping that somehow they get the fourth season up before I finish Coven!

Is P&R only on the US Netflix? My real life friends have been recommending it strongly.

Posted by: LexC 11th August 2015, 02:36 PM

Yes P&R is only on the US version but it's simple enough to just get a proxy to change your location.

Posted by: Cameron 11th August 2015, 02:43 PM

Currently working my way through Once Upon A Time biggrin.gif

Posted by: ℓindsey ♫ 11th August 2015, 03:43 PM

ORPHAN BLACK. Ignore everything on this thread and listen to me mellow.gif

No really, it's amazing but currently there's only two seasons on the UK Netflix although the 3rd has finished airing in the US idk if it's on the American Netflix. The 3rd season should air on UK T.V at some point though, I'm guessing maybe in a couple of months. Still, watch the first two seasons and thank me later wink.gif

Backing up some of the stuff said already, American Horror Story and Orange Is The New Black. I've watched Kimmy as well, loved it, it's the perfect series to binge on in a day or so, and Pretty Little Liars is up there with my favourites so I'm glad you're watching it biggrin.gif

I've heard good things about Community as well but not got round to watching it yet rolleyes.gif

Posted by: Cassidy 13th August 2015, 04:17 PM

Arrested Development is light-hearted and FRANKLY HILARIOUS.

If you want something with a bit more meat on it, have a look at Peaky Blinders.

Posted by: ℓindsey ♫ 14th August 2015, 12:29 AM

Another easy binge-watch is Sense8, it's amazing too wub.gif

How To Get Away With Murder

Posted by: 💯 8th January 2016, 06:15 PM

f*** russian netflix. there's literally nothing on it ugh.

so just hola-ing the us version oops

Posted by: Cody Slayberry 13th January 2016, 04:13 AM

I'd say The Flash. My friend introduced me to it and the characters are just so fun. I mean, if you can handle DC characters then you can handle The Flash.

Posted by: Liаm 13th January 2016, 11:33 AM

Finished PLL so that's down to being weekly when there's a new episode now, thinking of starting Parks & Rec and maybe Orphan Black or The Fosters which seems like my thing. Starting a series often takes me so long because I worry that it's such a commitment and will take over my life kink.gif

Posted by: Oliver 13th January 2016, 12:40 PM

That's what happened with me and Greek, started out with one or two episodes an evening but then ended up watching like 10 episodes, stopping up until 4am every night! laugh.gif

Posted by: Regina 13th January 2016, 12:54 PM

Just finished Modern Family, took me 3 weeks to watch all the 6 available seasons laugh.gif moved onto 30 Rock now.

Yeah exactly, comedies with a looser plot aren't so bad but when they're dramas and keep hanging cliffhangers and they're all there and available, you just have to "watch one more" and see what happens drama.gif

Posted by: 🙄🙄🙄 14th January 2016, 12:17 PM

Netflix figures have been released with Jessica Jones being the most watched programme with an average of 4.6m viewing per episode.

Posted by: Martyn 14th January 2016, 01:25 PM

I am sad I cant get Parks and Rec on the UK Netflix, they need to sort this out.

Posted by: Oliver 11th February 2016, 09:42 PM

Guys (and gals), I'm trying to get a catalogue of programmes to watch when I have some free time (and to make use of my Netflix account!!). I have the following at the minute;

I was wondering if there were any recommendations or any that you think I've stupidly missed off?

Posted by: Brett-Butler 11th February 2016, 09:50 PM

Top tip - watch Attack on Titan now. Like, right now. And don't come back until you have.

And if you feel like adding any more anime to your queue, may I recommend Psycho Pass & Knights of Sidonia.

Breaking Bad unless you've already watched it? That's what I'm currently watching years after everyone else laugh.gif

I've seen Making A Murderer, Master of None, Orange Is The New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt out of those; I found the first two got better the more you watched it so persevere! And the latter two are very instant and would highly recommend them, OITNB in particular wub.gif

Also American Horror Story if you're into that sort of thing, but I kind of don't associate that with Netflix that much! Wet Hot American Summer: First Day at Camp is an underrated one too, it does have some very dry humor so I'd imagine it's a love/hate sort of program but that might be worth checking out if you make it through the rest of your list!

I was going to say I've not included ones I'm already part way through, which include Breaking Bad and AHS! laugh.gif

I did notice Wet Hot American Summer as well, might add that!

Les Revenants aka The Returned

Hemlock Grove

And obviously Danger 5...

I concur with Brett. Such an jawdropping and easy series to get into.

And I think I'll just add those two to my 'plan to watch' list on MAL.

Oliver and Liam (and everyone else on this site tbh) should watch Orphan Black, it's legitimately my favourite series ever and it's such an easy binge with 10 episodes per season, I don't think season 3 is on Netflix yet though, I imagine it will be soon as the next season is starting in April and it did air in the UK from September last year magic.gif

I haven't seen Orphan Black, but I do recommend Sense8 strongly. It takes a while to get going and there are a few completely unnecessary sex scenes, but once it does get going it really grips you. Really strong characterization and storytelling, and it does actually manage to tackle some pretty serious stuff maturely. I do believe a second season is coming soon to Netflix, too.

Really keen to see the new episodes. Did you see the teaser they released?
